Information stored in "Adobe.APS" in your keychain message

Hi all,
I've developed an application using Adobe AIR 1.5.3 and am looking into upgrading to AIR 2.0. When I install the AIR 2.0 runtime and try to upgrade an existing AIR 1.5.3 application to a new AIR 2.0 application I get the following message when the application starts:
<AppName> wants to use your confidential information stored in "Adobe.APS" in your keychain.
One of the first things that the application tries to do when it starts is access encrypted local storage (I'm assuming that this is where this message is coming from).
Is there any way to avoid this message when upgrading to AIR 2.0?
Thanks
Sean

Thanks for taking the time to look into this Chris,
I've one other issue where a person trying to install the AIR 1.5.3 application I work on is having difficulties during install. Here's what their .airappinstall.log file looks like:
Starting silent app install of file:///C:/Users/Gordon/AppData/Local/Temp/Eye-Fi_Center.air
UI SWF load is complete
UI initialized
Unpackaging to C:\Users\Gordon\AppData\Local\Temp\flaC2BF.tmp

stateInstalling: [ErrorEvent type="error" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Unhandled exception Error: App already exists" errorID=5007]

Their .airinstall.log file looks like this:
Starting silent x1 install from file:///C:/Users/Gordon/AppData/Local/Temp/Eye-Fi_Center.air
UI SWF load is complete
stateRunningAppInstaller: appinstaller -runtime C:\Users\Gordon\AppData\Local\Temp\AIR33AA.tmp -silent -withRuntime -url -location "C:\Program Files\Eye-Fi" -programMenu file:///C:/Users/Gordon/AppData/Local/Temp/Eye-Fi_Center.air
App installer failed; exit code 7
begin quitting
I tried asking the user to uninstall an older version of Eye-Fi Center via the Control Panel before attempting another reinstall of Eye-Fi Center, but that didn't seem to do any good.
FWIW, this user is running Adobe AIR 2.0.2.12610 and the application in question has been developed to work with AIR 1.5.3. A quick snippet from it's application descriptor file looks like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5">
<id>fi.eye.center</id>
<filename>Eye-Fi Center</filename>
They're seeing a popup at the end of installation which says:
"This installation of this application is damaged. Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance."
I don't mean to hijack this 'Adobe.APS' thread with a separate issue - if you feel that this second issue would be better served in a separate thread, please let me know and I'll repost.
Thanks again for your help - much appreciated.

Have you downloaded or installed any application that may relate to the abbreviation AOS? It may not necessarily be the application's name, could be the developer or distributor.
As it's occuring at log-in, go to System Preferences > Accounts > your account > Login Items and look for a related item. If there's one there, right-click (or ctrl click) on it and select Reveal in Finder. That will show you where the originator of the item is on your system and should give you more of a clue as to what it is.
I'd remove the item from login items anyway (highlight and click the minus sign at the bottom of the window). There shouldn't be anything trying to use your keychain info to notify anyone.

When I open FaceTime and log in, I'm presented with a message.wants to use your confidential information stored in ids:<my appleID emailaddress> - AuthToken in your keychain.  Option to Always Allow, Deny or Allow.  Clicking either one will bring me back to FaceTime login screen.  I'm not able to login.
Google search results suggest resetting KeyChain or Since this is a new mac, I don't really have anything in my Keychain.
I've already went into Keychain preferences and made sure it was unlocked and even reset the Keychain preferences.
I'm able to login on my iPhone and my other iMac running 10.10.2 as well.

Hello  when I downloaded software OSX 10.9.1 now on startup I get this message 2 times: Identityservicesd wants to use your confidential information stored in Facetime @yahoo.com in your keychain. This is very annoying and slows my computer down. I dont use or dont want to use Facetime and Keychain is annoying also but i dont know how to delete either one.

    Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
    From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
    Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

  • How do I stop the popup "identityservicesd wants to use your confidential information stored in " key " in your keychain"?   Always allow doesn't work.

    I repeatedly see the popup:
"identityservicesd wants to use your confidential information stored in "<key>" in your keychain"
If I click "always allow" it still comes up.
I've followed instructions elsewhere on this forum to open Keychain Access and use First Aid, but to no avail.
Previously I would receive the popup "messages app wants to use your confidential information..." but I changed the Access Control to allow all applications to access this item, hoping that would do the trick.  But sadly it didn't work.
    Any ideas?
(Also, ever since upgrading to Mavericks, it wants to go through first-time setup every time I log in.  I'm prompted to enter my iCloud password, etc. etc. but the above problem predates that)

  • System preferences wants to use confidential information stored in my keychain

Images are not being displayed in emails on my Mac. This includes sending photos from iphoto via email. When going in to System Preferences to see what I need to check, I get the window which reads "System Preferences wants to use your confidential information stored in "imap.aol.com" in your keychain. Should I "always allow", "deny" or "allow"?
I recently synched my contacts via icloud with my mac and my iphone (which created a whole different problem). That is the only thing I can think of that I have done recently (?). Speaking of the contacts issue, now my phone does not have the phone numbers and all of the information of my contacts as I had on my phone before the icloud synch. Now, the contacts in my phone seem to be mostly email addresses that were stored on my mac and no phone numbers!!! WT? Help. My love for Apple is waning.

I too am losing confidence in Apple. I want to be able to make these choices and still have access to my apps.

  • Translate wants to use your confidential information stored in.....?

I don't know why, but all of a sudden, I keep getting this message from my mail program. I keep saying Deny, but it comes back. I have searched relentlessly and have found no answers. Since the app is called translate, all I keep getting are translation information. Nothing to do with whatever is going on here.
Here is a copy of the message:
*translate wants to use your confidential information stored in "Exchange" in your keychain.*
I don't know if this is legit, or if it is something malicious. Can anyone with any knowledge in this, please enlighten me.
    TIA, Billy

    First the basics.
    Which mail program?
Any third party software being used in conjunction with mail or to enhance the system? (e.g., There are translation programs which are meant to interact with mail, I think.)
What happens if you search your mac for the string "translate", any applications show up?

What are CD features? Are you looking to download a trial or have you purchased Adobe Photoshop as a download from the Adobe online store?

  • I want to delete my icloud-account from my iphone 5 and then register again, because I want to change my email-address/account name. What would be the steps to follow? How do I make sure I do not lose any information stored on/in my iphone 5?

I want to delete my icloud-account from my iphone 5 and then register again, because I want to change my email-address/account name. What would be the steps to follow? How do I make sure I do not lose any information stored on/in my iphone 5?

You would have to delete the existing iCloud account and create a wholly new one - you cannot change the @icloud.com email address of the one you already have.  To make a new one, you will also need an new AppleID as any AppleID can only have one iCloud account associated with it.
Deleting the account will not delete anything off your device (if prompted for things like contacts, choose to keep them).  You will have to sync everything anew with the new account as you cannot move your sync'd content, your old backups or anything else from one iCloud account to another.  You will have to set up sync again and let it sync to the new account, and then make new backups to the new account as well.

  • I cannot open photo's stored in my i photo library to edit in Photoshop Elements.  Adobe comes up with the message program error. I use a Macbook Air.

I cannot open photo's stored in my i photo library to edit in Photoshop Elements.  Adobe comes up with the message program error. I use a Macbook Air.

No, that is done deliberately, since letting other programs poke around in the iphoto library is the fastest known way to corrupt it and make it wither up and die, along with your photos. If you want to use PSE with iphoto you have two choices:
    1. Set PSE as your external editor and send the photos from iphoto. Edit them, then save without changing the name or format and iphoto will remember your last saved edits + original, although you have to lose the edits to see the original again. You may need to set the editor prefs>saving files>on first save to save over existing to make this work.
    2. Export the photos from iphoto, use file>open in PSE, make all the changes of any sort that you like, save the file, and import it to iphoto as a new file.

  • Can I change user profile of an IPOD but keep all of the music and information stored on it?

A friend updated my IPOD with all of their music with their profile. However, I would like to make changes but keep most of the music that was uploaded.  Can I change the user profile (username and password) of an IPOD but keep all of the music and information stored on it?

Your frend does not have the right/lience to give the music to you. You should delete that music.
If he set up the iPod with his iTunes account you should restore the iPod from a backup of the iPod that should be on your computer. That will delete his music but restore your settings.

  • Is any information stored on an AirPort?

    Hello,
I'm planning on selling an old iBook, AirPort, etc. as a lot. Unfortunately, I don't have a power adapter for the AirPort so I can't plug it in. Is there any sensitive information stored on the AirPort unit itself? Is there anything I should physically remove from inside the unit since I can't find the power adapter? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    wi_l_l_ll wrote:

It contains the name and password of your network. If you use DSL service with a "dumb" modem, it also contains your DSL sign-on details. Any of this can be changed when you sell the AirPort unit.
By the way, I would expect an AirPort unit without its power adapter to sell for quite a bit less than one with such an adapter.
