Infoset Using Join - End of Selection

I have created a Infoset from 2 tables and created a query based on the Infoset. Now I need to write the output from the query to a file in the app server. I think I need to write the code ' END OF SELECTION'.
1) How do I retrieve the values of the output table to write it in the file.
2) I tried writing a small text in a file in End of Selection of the Infoset . When I executed the query.It didnt call that section of the code whereas same code when placed in start of selection, it worked. When is the Code in End of Selction is triggered.

The END-OF-SELECTION event is triggered in type executable programs once the logical database has finished reading all data and before the list processor is started.
It tells the server that all the database reading is completed and no further reading is going to take place..

END-OF-SELECTION is used mostly when you are using Logical data base in your report. It is triggered when all selection get finished from the data base.
You can use write statments in start of selection and end of selection also.
But the one use of end of selection is... if you want to stop the processing of a certain code and directly display some message you can use this.
start-of-selection.
select data..
process data
if no data .
stop.
endif.
write data
end-of-selection.
write : 'No data to display.
Stop command will take the control to end of selection event.

Proper use of END-OF-SELECTION event in report programme

If we will write "WRITE" statements in side START-OF-SELECTION then it will help me to display the output.Then what is the need of END-OF-SELECTION .

This is the last of the events called by the runtime environment to occur. It is triggered after all of the data has been read from the logical database, and before the list processor is started.
<b>In report programs using LDB for every value selected the program issues the output, to control this you would use END-OF-SELECTION.</b> Now if you call your output in this event, the output is made only after all the values are selected as per the selection criteria.
suppose while coding, u need a logic like below:
if a condition is satisfied continue with the report
and if not satisfied, then display a message and end the report.
then u can code like below.
start-of-slection.
if a = <condition>.
do the following.......
else.
stop.
end-of-selection.
write: 'THIS IS END'.
stop command triggers end-of-slection from anywhere.

SQL Query Using Join

I am trying to join two tables using joining.
SQL> select * from test10;
ID

SQL> select * from test11;

My expected output is
ID

4
I am able to do this using "Union"
SQL> select * from test10
2 union
3 select * from test11;
ID
1
2
3
4
But i want to achieve this using join. Please help..

The way to do that with a join is FULL OUTER JOIN, like this:
SELECT       NVL (t10.id, t11.id)     AS id
FROM               test10 t10
FULL OUTER JOIN test11 t11 ON   t10.id = t11.id
ORDER BY 1
;If that's exactly what you're trying to do, you should stick with the UNION.
FULL OUTER JOIN is good when there are other columns involved.

The selected objects cannot be joined as they are invalid objects,( Compound paths, closed paths, Text Objects, Graphs, Live Paint group). You can use Join command to connect two or more paths, paths in groups; ot to close an open path.

If we give like this it gives an error.
Please help me, how to use or handle in select qry itself.

this is not a way to select data from the DB tables.
first get all the data from the DB tables then u have to do SUM Ups .

Issues with query using joins in 3 tables

I am trying to fetch data from 3 tables (Project,RIsk and Issues) using join. There are Risks associated with some projects and Issues associated with some projects.
ProjectID is primary key in Project table.
RiskID is primary key in risk table. ProjectID is foreign key.
IssueID is primary key in Issue table.ProjectID is foreign Key.
I need the projectname, count of risks for projects, count of issues for projects. I am using joins in all the 3 tables. Issue here is, its giving me double of count of risks and issues for each project.
Please advise how can I get the correct number. I have used the below query,
select p.projectname,count(r.riskid),count(i.issueid) from project as p
left outer join risk as r on p.projectid=r.projecctid
left outer join issue as i on p.projectid=i.projectid
group by
p.projectname

About SQL Query using joins

I want to write a SQL statement using Joins. The base table "A" has about 100 fields and the join table "B" a few. I would like to fetch all fields from table "A" and a few from table "B".
Is there a way to write a query wherein I can use "Select * " for table "A" rather than writing all 100 field name in the query? Please keep in mind that I want to use a Join.

but if there are some fields which are in both tables, SELECT * will be not sufficient. E.g. fields ERNAM, ERDAT, AENAM, AEDAT are such fields which can occur in more tables. In case that a target area will contain these fields, by * with addition INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF, you are not able to specify from which table these values should be taken. In such case, it can be solved by specifying field list dynamically. If it is not that case SELECT * is sufficient. You should check intersection of common fields for tables you are joining. Thereafter you should decide if you can use SELECT *.
Maybe for better understanding, what exactly I am talking about, look at this example:
TYPES: BEGIN OF ts_data,
        ernam TYPE mara-ernam,
       END OF ts_data.
DATA: ls_data TYPE ts_data,
      ls_mara TYPE mara,

but the problem is this query gives wrong output for first two conditions(1.sub_bu<>bu and report_order<=8
2.report_order > 8 and report_order<11 and sub_bu not in (‘TSG’). The value is not displayed for the virtual column q1py_bu and q1py_tot.
i am getting this warning message too
Warning: Null value is eliminated by an aggregate or other SET operation.
I am not able to find the solution. so plz do help in this..

SQ02 - Create InfoSet using 'Data retrieval by program'

Using SQ02, I would like to use the data returned by an ABAP program as the data source for an InfoSet. When attempting to create an InfoSet, I noticed the 'Data retrieval by program' option. I would like to discover how to use this option and how to pass parameters to the ABAP program I'd like to use.

The "Data retrieval program" would be coded like any normal report except for adding a few comment tags that will be used by SQ01 query generator as placeholders to insert its own code into your code to generate the query program.
In general this is how a data retrieval program is coded. SQ01 when it generates the query will insert its own code in place of *<Query_body> and *<Query_head> comment tags
