Infoview Issues Missing Events and Parameters

Very strange problem. I am on BO 3.1... the CMC shows all events and parameters. When I open up Infoview under the same login (administrator), I am not able to see any events when I go to schedule. In its place, under job history, the report would show NO parameters even though it has parameters and it is showing in CMC. Also, when trying to schedule it based on an events, there are no available events. Instead, I get a message of "This is a formatting string" in all of the boxes.
At first I thought maybe it is a setting for the Infoview application on CMC but it does not make sense since administrators have FULL CONTROL.

Hi,
Does this happen for all reports? If so, then its probably an interface issue more than anything else. You'll want to redeploy the web applications, or at least the InfoView releated ones (InfoViewApp, InfoViewAppActions, PlatformServices)
You can use WDeploy to do this.

Or, an easy way in Tomcat is to go to the WebApps directory and just rename the folders of the apps you want to redeploy. Then restart tomcat and wait about 20 minutes for the apps to re-deploy.
Other than that, have you modified the out of the box security at all? Locked down permissions to the InfoView application or anything along those lines?

I just tried a sample inter portlet communication using events and parameters.
I used the below code to enable inter portlet communication between two struts portlet.
UrlUtils.constructLink etc
The above works fine. Instead of link, I would like to use a form button to fire the event.
Is there any way of using button to fire the event.
Another thing I noticed is that when the event is fired the page gets refreshed.
How to enable inter portlet communication without the portal page refreshing.

Then, you need to make sure the portlets can operate independently. That means: the locations portlet should be able to run without the incidents portlet.
What you should try to achieve is create a locations jspx that uses a page parameter with the incident number as input. The page can then be populated based on that id.
The key thing here is: input portlet variables are available as page parameters.
Then, you need to add some functionality to the incidents portlet to submit the selected incident number to the outside world. You can do this using some backing bean code. Example:

Two issues - Missing songs and retrieving music from another computer

HELP! I used to have a PC that I used for managing my Itunes and photos. Well, a few days ago, that computer went to computer heaven and won't even turn on. So, my husband had a MAC laptop sitting around so I decided to re-import all of my CD's into Itunes on that MAC. I know I can get my purchased music into Itunes on the MAC, BUT, what if some of my purchases were not checked during my last sync, and therefore are not on my IPOD? Are they gone? Surely not! At least I hope not.
#2, Has anyone ever seen the issue where you import a CD, go to your list of music, and only a handful of the songs from that CD are there? I'm having that issue as well.
Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:

You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. I Have Issues - missing photos and the like

I dunno. I used to never bat an eye every time Apple came out with an update. Not the story of my life lately - since 10.4.4 and up and with related products iTunes 6.03, and iPhoto 6.
Re: i Photo - missing photos, more and more. I went investigating and the JPG's themselves are missing even missing in some cases (not just messed up thumbnails). Restoring from backup now as I speak. But this gives me the Fear. This recent list of problems in various parts of my system.
iPhoto problems have included - date stamps got whacked, so my albums are all out of tune and not in order. Missing files & directories. Thank God for backups. Also dupe files eg. img6013.jpg and img6013_1.jpg etc. etc. Also, I just bought a new Canon 20D and have been trying to import lately and during or when it attempts to import from my card, it bombs and I have to say open/reopen. Am I the only one with the Plague? After about 4 tries it worked. Larger files than my old cam, but still...
I just noticed that some of my new pics I previously imported (that showed up, but after disappeared) are in /Music/Import/Data/2000/12/ - not in the correct path and not even in the correct directories, because the dates are all indeed the correct dates - oh wait, these are thumbnails - ???
The originals are in /Music/Import/Originals/2000/12/ ???? ***!?!?!?!
I have the Fear. Any tips on what the heck might be going on here would be much appreciated.

this is the new organization:
iPhoto 6 Library folder in the Finder
As you can see the structure is now related to rolls. Rolls are created for each folder you import and each import session from a camera.
It is very easy to change the names of film rolls within iPhoto to make them easier to find images within. Open the info panel in iPhoto by clicking on the "i" icon. Once it is opened, click on the roll title in the viewing window.
Click on the word "title" in the info pane and type in your new title. I like to use a date and text format such as 12/25/05 Christmas at Mom's, 1/05/06 my birthday, etc. Once the roll names are changed within iPhoto, they are also changed within the Finder, making it easy to locate an image.
When importing from a camera, make sure you name the roll with a date and text before the import.

Missing Event on FCP X

Heyy Guys! At school I was editing a project on Final Cut Pro X on the school's iMAC and I saved all of my files onto my Glyph Drive. Now that school is over I would like to edit that project more on my Mac book pro laptop. Once I plugged my Glyph Drive onto the Mac pro, My Final cut on the laptop says "missing event" on the project that was done on the school's iMac. I think the problem is that I didnt back up the file? But im not sure how to do that. All I did was save the files on my hard drive. So my question is why does it say missing event and how do I back up files so Final Cut can recognize my files that was done in a different location

So I tried a few more random things - this is just to potentially save other people some time trying useless random ideas to fix this stupid issue:
- I copied the iMovie Library from my USB drive to my internal hard drive.
- I made sure that I did not have any more symlinks pointing outside the Library. I had some JPEGs on my NAS which were used in the project and just symlinked into the Library (no Idea, why). I did this by "consolidating"* the iMovie media from iMovie - right click on events.
- I tried two more projects
- I disabled AppNap for iMovie AND Final Cut Pro X
None of these actions changed anything.
This is incredibly annoying!
I am now trying to find out, how I could automate the process of hitting Shift-F for every single clip in my project using Apple Script (i.e. fixing the Events in the end). Unfortunately I can not find any useful information on how to script the FCP X interface.
Another option would potentially be to play around with the Events themselves (i.e. the CurrentVersion.fcpevent files). They are SQLite database but I have not figured out the structure yet. Any information if someone has already reverse engineered the structure of these databases would be very helpful!
*this might be called differently. I am on a German system so I don't know exactly how this translates into the english version.

"missing events" in storyline?

I have upgraded to Mountain Lion (not sure if this is the trigger but seems around the same time) and now when opening my recent Final Cut Pro 10 project I see that:
a) in Storyline the video graphics are missing and replaced by red "missing event" alerts
b) the single video file they come from is missing from the Event Library event I created for it
I tried re-assigning the video to the event (in Event Library) which worked, but the various video clips in the Storyline didn't pick it up obviously as it's source video.
Any ideas? How can I find out what the various clips in the Storyline (all bits and pieces from the one video file) require me to do to get things working for the project again?

Typically this is due to a date problem with the photos or a sort problem with events
Check the dates on the "missing" events - and check the event sort under the view meny ==> sort events
If the events are there in photos they are there in events - you just are not finding them

Many events and photos are missing from my iphoto. I have time machine and would like to restore without creating duplicates. The issue is although my photos are presently blank time machine/iphoto does see the file so importing them will create duplicat

For some unknown reason, events and photos in my Iphoto are appearing blank. The photos have a title / placeholder but no picture. I use time machine and have back ups, my goal is to restore the photos without creating duplicates. Unfortunately iphoto sees the blank photos as if the picture exists? Help

If you want to use your back up you need to restore then entire Library from Time Machine, and then replace the damaged Library with it.

ICloud on the web is missing events on iCal, iPhone and iPad

I am using iCloud to sync 3 calendars between my Mac, iPhone and iPad. Bizarrely, all of the events are perfect in iCal on my Mac as well as on the iPad and iPhone. However, when using iCloud's Calendar app on the web it is a patchwork of random events missing. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
Also, with iCal running on the Mac, my Calendar app of choice, Fantastical, displays all of the events perfectly. Once I quit iCal, I get the same random missing events as the web app. Yet, Calendar, Fantastical and any other calendar apps on both my iPhone and iPad always display all the events properly.
This has been driving me crazy. I tried exporting all of my calendars locally, deleting everything on iCloud, creating new calendars and merging in the old data. I got the same end result. I also tried importing the old calendars as completely new ones (not merged) and got the same missing events.
If anyone has any suggestions of something I may have missed, I would be eternally grateful. I can't afford to lose any of my calendar data.

Sign into your account on icloud.com, click on your name, then click on Time Zone. Check that it is the correct time zone and the selected citiy is near your location.

IPhoto events and pictures missing from iPhoto after restoring new hard drive and upgrade to iLife11

My iPhoto events and pictures are ALL missing from my iPhoto Library after I tried restoring my programs on a new hard drive AND upgrading to iLife11! Over the last few months, I upgraded my 2008 Macbook Pro's hard drive from a 250 GB to a 500 GB hard drive and since then have been manually installing and restoring programs and software. I decided to do things manually because I had problems with doing Time Machine backups/restores in the past, so before I upgraded the drive, I manually saved everything to a Western Digital MyStudio 1 TB hard drive that I had just for the purposes of a second back up. Anyway, I tried importing the pictures onto the new library, but couldn't find the hard copies at first, so that didn't work. I then tried deleting the iPhoto Library that came with new operating system, then copying my old backup onto the new hard drive...that didn't work either. However, when I right clicked on the iPhoto Library icon on my external hard drive (the original) and clicked on "show package contents," the folder not only contained the originals, but they were still organized by year and event just as I had them originally!
So, then I thought "why don't I try just importing the pictures directly into the new iPhoto Library!"
I tested it out, and sure enough, it worked! I then tried importing an entire folder (which, was actually the name of the event), and again it worked! So, I literally clicked and dragged my entire 2007-2009 library of pictures (which was about 35 GB) back into my iPhoto Library! AND, this only took about 30 minutes to download, enough time for me to write this post and the following instructions to Recap:
          1. Open your new iPhoto Library
          2. Go to wherever your ORIGINAL iPhoto Library is saved/backed up, then Right-click (or Control click) on the iPhoto icon
          3. Click on "Show Package Contents"
          4. Go to the folder called "Originals" or "Master"
          5. Click and drag everything INSIDE the folder (not the folder itself) to your new iPhoto Library
          6. DO NOT try Importing from inside iPhoto! For some reaseon, iPhoto can't see these images, but I promise, they're there!
I assume this could work on other iLife programs, but luckily I have MobileMe and my iCalendar updated itself, though I did have to do some tweeking...

Missing Event key photos and photo count

This is a question regarding the Library Events folder with the list of all events. I have approximately 560 events and 24,000 photos. The problem is with only 32 events within a date rangeof four months from Feb thru June of this year that contained 41 events. 9 of the events scattered throughout that date range work normally. I can't identify a common denominator for either of the groups that work or those that don't. I can't think of any difference in the way I imported them or any other reason why some within that range don't work properly and some do. For some reason the last 8 events over the last 6 weeks have worked perfectly. I'm pretty sure the problematic events had shown perfectly for a while and that suddenly one day this situation started even for some events that already had been working fine.
The problem with the 32 events is two key characteristics, there is not a key photo for the event whether one is assigned specifically or one chosen by the program - just a generic black and white ghost image icon with a palm tree and sunset. The other issue is when hovering over the event icon and when it would usually list the number of photos within the event - in these 32 groups it shows only 0 (zero) but when I go into the event all of the photos are there - whether it's 1 photo or 100. I am able to assign titles to the events as normal.
Here are some things I have been told but have no idea as to the accuracy and thought I would put this question out to the experts before I did anything. One thing I had been told that was that iPhoto isn't equipped to hold this large a number of photos and to switch to Aperture but today I read something within Apple that says Aperture uses the same library as iPhoto.
Someone else had mentioned reindexing the library but I'm not sure whether to attempt that and what that means. I read in another forum and it was unclear if that would be a suitable course of action for me but that was a question someone posed regarding an ios device so it really wouldn't apply to me directly:

That is as you note incorrect - the current versions of iPhoto and Aperture do use the same exact library structure and can open and modify each other's libraries - the current limitation on an iPhoto library is !,000,000 photos (I have not personally verified that)

No - that would not improve anything and would lose data
What you need to do it backup your iPHoto library, depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your thrumbnails - which may take several tries - if this does not resolve things rebuild the library

Anytime I open firefox I get a verizon installation started and then stops at 30%, then goes to "the flow will not proceed due to missing hand-off parameters: cutomertype.

Events and project thumbnails missing after moving to new computer

I just helped a friend to move to a new Mac. I have copied all her personal data to her new computer, so iMovie Events and Projects are present in her new Movie folder. However, after opening iMovie '08, all events and project thumbnails are missing. How could this be? Is there perhaps some library file that keeps track of all this that I need to copy as well? Is there a way to re-link iMovie with the events folder?

Try this:
First, make sure you've quit out of iMovie. Then go to your Movies Folder > iMovie Events > and then into the folder of the even that's giving you trouble. Drag the folder "iMovie Thumbnails" to your trash. Then open the folder "iMovie Cache" and drag the file "Cache.plist" to the trash. Restart iMovie. It should rebuild the thumbnails, and by regenerating the .plist file, it should have the data it needs to reed the new thumbnails into iMovie.
It worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you too.

CAN't find Parameters, Events and Approval tabs in the Page Properties opti

I am trying to test the approval process. I have created a page group and also created a page under that. I don't find the 3 tabs Parameters, Events and Approval in the Edit Page/Page Properties option. Please reply me what I have to do to activate those tabs.

In your Page Group properties ensure that parameters and events are enabled. Once they are enabled at the page group level, the tabs should appear in your page properties.
