Initialization of nodes everytime the view is called

Hi experts
ABOUT: I am trying out a code in which I am displaying a table in First view with 2 buttons for edit and add. If the user clicks add button, Second view is called with blank input fields and a button to save. If the user clicks edit, input field with the values in lead selection of previous view should be displayed. I am able to do this.
ISSUE: But after saving the values I want the control again to go to the First view. Where I want the table to be updated with all the new values (values just saved in second view also). I know I canu2019t put the code for initialization in DO_INIT, as it is called only once in the lifetime of view controller. When I keep the code in DO_MODIFY_VIEW everything is fine but I am not able to change the lead selection. Where exactly should I put my code for initialization? Awaiting your valuable replies.

What i would suggest is to consider using the component controller for your context. Do the context mapping to view1 and view2.
When ever you select a line, lead selection is set and fire a plug to view2. View2 just displays a form with selected record.
When you ready in view 2 , fire a plug to go back to view1. You do not have to do anything, the data is already updated in view2 , lead selection is not changed in view1.
So the solution is to have the context in component controller,context mapping in views. Use plugs to navigate between views.

How to find out the view that calls a pop-up window?

Hi,
The BP_HEAD_SEARCH component is a pop-up called by several other components (Contact, Activity, etc).
So I need to customize it in according to which view called it (BP_HEAD or BT126H_APPT, for instance). I see OUTER_REP_VIEW attribute, however it has several protected attributes and, some times, it doesn't work because it hasn't parent attribute filled.

Let me explain again:
Several views around the system use the BP_HEAD_SEARCH component to search up a partner. The most of them use the SearchHelp view and the configuration is object and subobject as . The component usage is always CUAccountValueHelp.
For example, in the Activity (company field) or in the Organization - Relationship assignment block, if you use the pop-up to search a partner, the configuration is the same.
But I need to know who called the pop-up: Activity module (BT126H_APPT) or Organization - Relationship (BPData)?

Android Adobe DPS viewer. HTML form dropdown menu closes everytime the viewer navigation pops up.

I have a web content page which contains a form dropdown menu: <select><option></option></select> ... and so on. I use this as a small filter to narrow a result.
When I tap the screen, this dropdown menu is shown and works correctly on an iPad. As a side effect the navigation from the Adobe DPS viewer is also shown although this doesn't interfere with the dropdown menu in the HTML. Both are shown.
On an Android tablet, the html dropdown menu is shown for a fraction of a second until the Adobe DPS viewer navigation pops up. The HTML dropdown menu just won't stay visible.
My question: How can I solve this? How can I make the HTML dropdown visible on an Android tablet? Or how can I prevent the DPS viewer navigation from showing?

This phenomenon does not happen on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. While not showing the dropdown menu as on an iPad it shows it as a scrollable menu at the bottom.

Mapping one node in a view context to many nodes in the component controlle

Hi guys,
I need to map an element (attribute) of a node in the View Context to an attribute of multi nodes of the same type:
Context View:
customer_no
      |
      | -> KUNNR
Component Controller Context having two nodes:
- Node1
     RFC1
        |
        |->KUNNR
- Node2
      RFC2
         |
         |->KUNNR
Above I need to map the (KUNNR) in customer_no node to KUNNR in the RFC1 RFC2 before i execute the two RFCs services.
Note:
if this is not possible would you mention another solution.

   As per MVC you cannot map context from view controller to component controller.Mapping can happen from component
controller to view controller.
You cannot create mapping for context attributes. You can map nodes if both source node and destination node both has same structure and same number of attributes. If they dont contain same number of attributes the extra attributes from the source node gets copied to the destination node.
In your case before the RFC execution you can read the value of attribute Kunnr from view and set it the RFC attribute Kunnr before the Function module execution.

Reading Attributes from different context nodes in the same view

Hi,
I have added a new field as part of an enhancement for Trade Promotions. This field is a checkbox and part of the context node TRADE in the view TPMOE/HeaderEOF. This field will be checked or unchecked using a logic in the background.
The logic will be based on an attribute (Fund Plan ID) which is part of another context node FUNDPLAN in the same view.
How can I read the attribute of FUNDPLAN context node in TRADE context node?
A sample code will be quite helpful as I am new to CRM 2007.

Hi Abhishek,
If I understand your question correctly, you would like to access the Fund plan ID (in a different context node) in the getter setter methods of the check box attribute which you have added.
The code snippet mentioend by sudeep works perfectly fine when you are making any checks in the view implementation class. But since you are in the getter setter methods of the context class, this doesnot work as "me" always refers to the class instance in which you are present.
Now in this case what you need to do is :
1) create an attribute <view_controller> in your context class. Here the context is TRADE. The type of this attribute wud be same as the view controller class CL_TPMOE_HEADEREOF0_IMPL
2) Go to the view controller class and redefine the method
DO_VIEW_INIT_ON_ACTIVATION. This method is called only once when the view is loaded for the first time.
3) In this method, put the following code
me->typed_context->(Trade)->[view_controller] = me.
by the above code, you are setting the newly created attribute to the view controller instance.
4) The next step would be, go back to your getter setter methods or what ever it may be, try referring to the Fund plan ID by the code snippet mentioned below
data: lr_entity type ref to cl_crm_bol_entity.
lr_entity ?= me->[view_controller]->typed_context->[the context node in which the fund plan id is present]->get_current().
lv_field_value = lr_entity->get_property_as_String( **pass the field name here ).
This should definitely resolve the problem.

Thanks for all your replies. I want this kind of a functionality because Im trying to invove a DC (Child DC) from a Parent DC such that the Child DC's view is displayed onto the view container of the Parent DC. I have embedded using 'interface view of a component instance' in the Parent Window and am able to create the component and set usage though the onPlugDefault of the Child View.
But I observe that when i make a call from the parent, the flow is like this:
1. The wdDoInit of the Child Component Controller gets triggered first.
2. Then the wdDoInit of the Child's VIEW gets triggered
3. and THEN the onPlugDefault of the Child Component Interface View
What I had actually wanted was to Fire onPlugDefault where Im calling a method LoadData(), after which the Child DC's view must be triggered so it can display the fetched data.
What is actually happening is the view gets displayed, but no data is displayed in the view.
Right now I have just given a work around where Im triggering LoadData() of the COmponent COntroller from the wdDoInit of the VIEW.
Is there a better way to do this? I find it strange that I have to load the Data from the view.

If you right click on an empty container or a container with an object in it, it has the same available choices to select. However, if you create a blank property node on the block diagram, and wire up the .net object to it, you will see a much different list of properties.
So, the property node created from right clicking a .NET container will be for that container, even if there is an object inside. To create a property node for the object, you must wire the .NET object to an empty property node on the block diagram.

We just upgraded our CRM Dev system from 4.0 to 5.0. We've already done this once on our Sandbox. However, in our Dev environment, I execute CRM_IC. Select my profile and then get an exception.

Thank for your reply. I already recompiled CRM_IC. I'm trying to execute the standard Webclient and still getting the error. I also reactivated CRM_IC_DT_REP and CRM_IC_RT_REP, but no luck.   I went to SICF and made sure all the services starting with CRM_IC were activated too. Any other suggestions?

Most of the times an enum is just a U8/U16/U32, internally so probably you can call it with just a U8/U16/U32 or something. For the correct value you have to look at the definition.
