Inline Streaming YouTube in Android

Having trouble viewing embedded streaming YouTube video on Android.
The file is linked using
<iframe width="709" height="399" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q9niPtOaPsw?rel=0" frameborder="0" ></iframe>
and appears correctly inline on the page in iOS and the web viewer.
On Android, in either my app or the native Content Viewer, the video is larger than the frame--about 125% (?) .
Checking "Scale content to fit" in the Web Content Folio Overlay causes the video to be smaller than the iframe--about 75%.
My HTML5 inline content is also behaving the same way.
I don't know if this is related: In InDesign, if I right-click on the box and select "Edit HTML" and paste "allowfullscreen" after frameborder="0", then close the dialog, when I re-open "Edit HTML," "allowfullscreen" is not there.

After more testing,
... adding:
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, user-scalable=no" />
to the head seems to solve the problem there.
Did not solve the problem. Using various values for initial-scale as described here seems to have no effect.

  • I still cannot stream YouTube/Netflix/iPlayer etc. on my iPhone 4 via WiFi since updating to iOS 6.0.1....can anyone please solve this for me??

I posted a couple of days ago about a problem my iPhone 4 was having trying to stream video via WiFi
Basically, since I upgraded to iOS 6.0.1 I cannot stream YouTube videos via the app or via Safari, Netflix will not work nor will services such as BBC iPlayer.
I've also discovered this evening I cannot stream any radio apps either.
All of them will play for 10-30 seconds then stop buffering making them impossible to play.
I was given several pieces of advice including restoring the phone to factory settings, restoring it as a new phone, hard resetting twice in a row, deleting all the cache/data in Safari but nothing that has been suggessted has solved the problem.
I know it is not a problem with my internet/WiFi as I have a laptop and a PC both using it and streaming YouTube/raddio stations etc. with no problem. Also, my girlfriend has a 3GS with the old YouTube player and that works with no problems at all.
Can anyone please help me out as it's getting a bit frustrating not being able to use the streaming function on my iPhone.
One thing that is odd, I have no problem surfing the web on the phone via WiFi or streaming over 3G. It is only a problem when trying to stream video/audio over WiFi.
    Thanks.

This is a link to the Apple support page on this issue. Have you tried all of these steps?

Not sure what you mean that you have no signal but are on 3. What are you trying to say?

  • Streaming youtube video from my macbook to Apple TV?

    Hello ...
Can I stream youtube video from my macbook pro (OS X 10.9.2)  to Apple TV? with same HD quality, similar to iPad and iPhone.
The built-in AirPlay feature is not satisfactory and gives poor video quality.
There might be some kind of plugins for Safari or Firefox than allow to switch to Apple TV, but I couldn't find any.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Rudegar ...
Yes! my hardware support AirPlay Mirroring but it doiesn't stream HD quality with no lagging
I just want something exactly similar to what happens in an ipad/iphone, just one click and the stream would be diverted from my macbook to the apple TV directly from the my internet modem
    Is there such way !!??

  • Can I stream YouTube soundtracks wirelessly to my hifi from my ipad?

I am interested to know if there is any way to stream YouTube audio to my hifi from my ipad and/or iPhone. I have thought of using AppleTV but I don't have a TV so would not be able to use the menus - is it possible to use AppleTV without a TV? As far as I can see, Airport only streams from Itunes. I have asked this question in an apple store but they didn't know and suggested I try here.
Thanks in advance for any useful info.

Hi. I can answer my own question now. I have just bought a Logitech Wireless Adaptor for Bluetooth Audio Devices. This plugs into my stereo and very easily pairs with my iPhone or ipad. I can then watch YouTube on either device with the audio playing through my hifi. Costs about £26 on amazon. Yay!

  • I can't stream Youtube...

When my phone is connected to my wifi I can't stream youtube videos. The screen says loading for a few minutes then goes back the the youtube home screen. I can surf the web fine on my wifi but Youtube has never worked on my phone. Javascript is enabled. Please help. Thanks.

Ruger, it's obviously a problem with your home router then. I would suggest to try this: Go into your router settings and find your phone's IP address from the DHCP client list. Mine always has a blank for the name instead of the phone. It should be something like 192.168.2.5.
Now find where you can enable DMZ. Enter your phone's IP and tell the router to enable it. Wait a few seconds and then try your phone. Now this opens up your phone to no protection through WiFi, but who hacks Kin's on wifi?
If that doesn't work then I'm stumped.
BTW, Youtube on my home WiFi works, and I don't use the DMZ. I'm just wondering if some setting in your router is stopping some of the traffic.
Other than youtube, can you surf the web normally? I have read that when the battery gets low, it has a lot of problems with WiFi.

  • How to stream YouTube video in PDF document using ID 5.5?

I'm using ID 5.5 and know how to insert a video into a document using the Media palette, "Insert video from URL" option. However, I need to stream a YouTube video in an interactive PDF document, and when I try to insert the link from YouTube into the "Insert Video from URL" box, ID doesn't recognize it. I assume this is because YouTube video links don't end with a typical video format file-name ending, such as ".mp4" or ".mov"
Has anyone been able to stream a YouTube video into a document using ID 5.5? If so, how did you do it?
Downloading the video and inserting it as a regular video file isn't an option because we need to keep the PDF file size down.
Thanks much for any advice you may have!

It can't be done. A YouTube video cannot be streamed in any digital publishing media—PDF, EPUB, or DPS.
There are applications which claim to be able to convert a YouTube video into a real digital publishing format like H264-encoded MP4 (preferred), but you'll have to investigate those on your own.

  • Streaming problems on Android?

I really have no idea where to post this, so here goes.
Starting a "webcasting-station" using Shoutcast as the stream provider and a HTML5/Flash fallback player on the site.  Things seem to be cool with BB and iOS devices, Android is a little finicky.  Sometimes it's there, sometimes not.  So...where's the problem - Flash, Android, Shoutcast, the player???  BB and iOS going HTML5 while Android Flash?  Perhaps Icecast works better with Flash or whatever the problem happens to be?  Things're fine on PCs and everywhere else accept Android.  Help!

I am currently watching Episode 1001 on my Dell laptop running Windows XP and IE. I am watching the stream as intended with the QT movie embedded in your page. So far (about a third of the way through).... No problems.... No drop-outs, glitches or anything. Nothing but crystal clear video and audio.
At this time, I would recommend making sure that the client Windows machines download the latest version of QT from Apple's website.

  • Firefox 5.0 won't load or stream YouTube videos, even in safe mode

Since we updated to Firefox 5.0 last week, ALL YouTube pages now come up with a black box that doesn't load anything in, whereas the rest of the browser page looks normal. We tried opening in Firefox Safe Mode and the same thing happens. The YouTube vids stream as normal in our other browsers. Using Mac OS 10.6.7.

Is Fixed! Someone suggested clearing the Firefox cache 9 (Preferences / Advanced / Network / Clear Now) and and after doing this now we can stream on the YouTube site as normal.

  • Problem streaming YouTube videos

I have 3 Macs: a Mini, an iMac and a MacBook Pro. My Mini is connected to a large screen tv. Sometimes, especially in the evenings from 7-10 pm, I get interruptions with YouTube video streaming on the Mini. I have no problems with either the iMac or the Pro. The Mini sits just a little to the front of the tv. Could the tv itself be interfering with the stream or is the problem something else. Any ideas on what could affect the streaming?

If you are using wifi to connect the Mini to the ethernet, it is probably getting a weaker connection than your other Macs.
Both the iMac and the MacBook Pro have stronger antennas than the Mini.
Sometimes making slight changes in the the Mini's placement can make a big difference in Wifi signal strength.
The Mini may also be farther from your router than the other Macs, which would impact signal strength via Wifi.
If you have the option of using ethernet cable to the Mini, that would give the best internet connection.

  • Nokia X6 will not stream youtube videos?

I am with network3 and they supplied me with a sony erricson  witch I didnt like so I bought a nokia X6 from a freind witch was origionally on the vodafone network. I popped my 3 contract sim in and it worked great! I could connect to the internet no probs, even watch youtube videos with great sound etc. After a couple of weeks, I can access the internet but, even though I get to the you tube site; when I select a vid to play It says cannot connect ?
3 have sent new settings to the phone now I have 8 "I think" but still I cant look at youtube vids! It worked 100% for a couple of weeks and there is no problem with the network as I have tried the sony erricson and that gets the vids no probs. help Please.

You could try to download the latest youtube app from http://m.google.com to see if that solves your problem.
Or bypass the apps altogether and visit http://m.youtube.com using the phone's web browser. That site is optimised for streaming to mobiles.
Also check that Real Player has the correct access point set for streaming video.
Menu > RealPlayer > Options > Settings > Streaming > Network > Access point in use
This really is a big failing imho... you have to change a deeply buried setting for video streaming every time you use a different network to access the internet.

  • Best Upload Settings for Streaming (Youtube, etc)

I'm having a hard time getting high quality video from final cut onto sites like youtube. I have final cut pro 5.1.4 and compressor, and my source media is 720p anamorphic widescreen 29.97fps video.
I'm working with live performance footage, 3-4 minute music video style. Everything i upload looks like garbage, using quicktime conversion, and compressor web streaming and download settings.
I know there has to be a trick to it, some videos on youtube look fantastic. How do i get a high quality image thats going to translate well to their system, and stay under the 100meg file limit???

Is this better than what you're getting
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmZU4CV3mgc
    This piece was shot SD.
I compressed this as 320x240 h264 qt. at the highest possible quality to get under the 100mb file size limit.
However, my understanding is that the 100 meg limit is no longer in place.
