Inline tables - refresh problem

Hi,
I've migrated an application created with ADF 10g to ADF BC 11g + Apache Trinidad.
Some forms constist of master-detail tables (details as inline table).
It worked ok with ADF 10g. It was created as 2 views connected with ViewLink in a standard way.
With ADF BC 11g/Trinidad, at first glance, it looks and works ok.
The problem occurs after page reload: when some of master table rows are disclosed: all detail tables are shown as empty (which is incorrect).
After any partial reload (like disclosing any row in table), everything come back to normal (detail tables are filled with data).
I searched the forum, but didn't find any solution.
Any ideas ?

Since you don't provide essential information which would help us give advice, I had to guess some facts, such as your version and replication setup. In the 10.2 Advanced Replication manual, I found the following quote:
"Oracle also supports the replication of tables and materialized views with columns that use the following large object types:
Binary LOB (BLOB)
(the chapter is at http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14226/repplan.htm#i21350).
It doesn't say anything about the BLOB columns having to be defined as "is not null". Therefore, from the little you said, I don't know why it wouldn't work. Do you have any details to provide for us? Otherwise, I could try myself in the next couple of days, and let you know how that worked.

Temporary table refresh problem

Hi,
I running a process before validation on a page to populate a temporary table when I click a button.
On the following page I've built a shuttle on the temporary table. Not the most elegant solution, but the shuttle LOV box wouldn't process the oracle text commands in the SQL.
I'm not getting any error, but I have an unusual problem
It takes two passes for the data to be replaced. i.e I enter 'ABCD' in the filter and it returns data with 'ABCD'
If I return to the page and change the filter to 'EFGH' I still get 'ABCD'. I return to the page and click the button again and I get 'EFGH' results
I've checked the data in the temporay table and that is updating in line with the problem.
I've looked at the debug and that seems fine (i.e I can see the changed filter value), I've tried moving the truncate to a different process, that didn't help.
I've run it in SQL developer and it seems to work fine.
I've included the code below, but I can't see a problem with it.
Can anybody help?

JTable Refreshing problem for continuous data from socket

Hi there,
I am facing table refreshing problem. My table is filled with the data received from socket . The socket is receiving live data continuously. When ever data received by client socket, it notify table model to parse and refresh the data on specific row. The logic is working fine and data is refresh some time twice or some thrice, but then it seem like java table GUI is not refreshing. The data on client socket is continuously receiving but there is no refresh on table. I am confident on logic just because when ever I stop sending data from server, then client GUI refreshing it self with the data it received previous and buffered it.
I have applied all the available solutions:
i.e.
     - Used DefaultTableModel Class.
     - Created my own custem model class extend by AbstractTableModel.
     - Used SwingUtilities invokeLater and invokeAndWait methods.
     - Yield Stream Reader thread so, that GUI get time to refresh.
Please if any one has any idea/solution for this issue, help me out.

ADF table refresh on update of database field in the background

Hi,
I have an ADF Read Only table based on Toplink mapping for a database table. In my scenario, one of the columns (Name) gets updated in the background (through DB adapter from ESB.
The problem is the ADF table does not refresh to reflect the updated name, on navigating to other pages and coming back (basically page reload).
The updated name does not reflect until I logout of the session.
I have used the explicit refresh option for the "findALL" method used by the ADF table. I have also tried setting "NoIdentityMap" option in Toplink Identity Map.
Please let me know how can I get the table refreshed. I'm using JDev 10.1.3.1 with Toplink.

I have same problem, and I tried af:poll . It only works when I insert a new record or delete a new record. It doesn't work when I update records.
I followed this example from Frank Nimphius

Plus the selection action is not work at all. (My case is multiple selection).

Inline table in Pages '08 must start on a new page if it doesn't fit?

I edit a newsletter with several tables in it. In Pages '05, I used a Layout break after the previous text, then put in the inline table. As the tables I use are around two thirds of a page long, Pages '05 split the table over two pages, automatically (and helpfully) repeating the headers on the second part of the table.
In Pages '08, I can't seem to avoid the table moving to start at the top of a new page, whether I have a layout break or a section break, or neither, before the table.

Peggy, I'm having the same problem. I do lots of multi-page tables that have a large number of cells with single line of text in each cell. The one I'm looking at right now has a row height of 0.21" for 42 rows. There are four lines of text on the page above where the table should start, and when I insert the table from Numbers, it jumps to the first line of the next page and cascades as it should. In Pages 2, I could insert a layout break after the last character of text on the page, set the top layout margin to 0.125" and the table would start on the first line of the new layout, cascading over any additional pages necessary.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Analyzing tables refresh date DAC issue

Hi all,
I'm new with DAC so probably this is a silly question but I think is how we learn
So I have an execution plan in DAC that without any changes from 8h is taking 12h to run. My last execution was on the 02-Aug and the execution that was ok was on the 26th of July.
After checking the tasks I realized that for one of the workflows the query to the source is now taking 4h instead of the usual 1h.
I've spoken to the DBA's and they told me that the table should be analyzed. I've checked in DAC and the analyze option is checked for that table in tab Task --> Target Tables.
I checked DAC log file for that task and it says it was done with success (log file from 02-Aug), I also checked that table in the database and it seems it was analyzed with in the right date (it says 02-Aug, I used SQL Developer to check this) but in DAC --> Setup --> Physical Data Sources --> Refreshed Dates, for that specific table the value for the Analyze Date is before I've started getting the performance issue (it has 26-July).
Any ideas why this date is not being updated here? Anyway if the database has the right date so the table is being analyzed right? And this is only a DAC refresh problem and the DBA's need to search more to find out what is wrong in the database right?

As I understand it, the refresh date goes hand in hand with the physical data source for the datawarehouse.
After each batch the refresh_date gets set to the cutoff timestamp of the current run, i.e. it in effect indicates for the destination database what date the data goes up to.
The next batch run will take this date and then only load data after that date.
So if you switch your destination DB but leave your refresh_date untouched then you're going to get incomplete data because so far as the DAC's concerned you've already loaded the data.
I could have misunderstood your question so please don't take this as gospel. But it does sound like you need to manually update the refresh dates and set them to whatever timestamp your desired destination DB was last successfully loaded.

ALV grid refresh problem when I return from list-processing

I have made alv grid with f4 help features and i'm using row select feature.
When i click on a button in Application toolbar, the program leaves to list processing and then return to alv gridscreen.
Now the problem arises.
(1)Even if i select rows and press F8, the program does not identify the rows selected and does not give me desired output.
(2)Also, when i press F4, the selected value does not appear in the text field.
Both the cases are working fine, if i dont press button and go to list processing.
Please help!!

The issue is that after changing the value in "Action" dropdown, the inline table got refreshed accordingly, and ADF throws error "Please make a selection for Parameter Uid" on the required selectOneChoice value in the inline table. How can I prevent ADF having the validation checking of required fields when doing a PPR? I have already set the dropdown and table immediate=true already.

Detail expaination of problem with DEPT and Emp table:
I have two pages first.jspx and secound.jspx
In the First page we are showing one department and All Employee blongs to that department. Employees are shown in table format.
and i have duplicate button in table--> this will create a duplication record of selected employee by calling application module
and the control moves to sencound page to show the newly created Employee details.
From secound form am returning back with some action button to previous page to the same dept , The newly created records are not showing in the table [but the database has newly crated].
How do i refresh the child view object ?

How to Create Inline Table to Display Detail Data in a Master Table in 11g?

I have a requirement to create inline table inside master table to show data.

After reading the above links end-to-end twice, I'm finally able to establish the relationship in UI. I've used iterator for my specific purpose, although it can be done using a table/forEach.
1) Create VOs for Dept and Emp, i.e. DeptVO and EmpVO.
2) Then a View Link on deptID, i.e DeptEmpVL
3) Drag and drop the Dept as AdfTreeTable, b'coz it will create the treeBinding and also add the emp accessor by selecting it in the binding window. (refer to above doc links from BaiG)
4) In my Page UI, i've created a new table and an iterator in the detailStamp.
Dept Table ->
o Value = #{bindings.Departments1.treeModel}
o Var = dept
o varStaus = deptVarStatus
Add these:
Column1-> OutputText -> #{dept.DepartmentId}
Column2-> OutputText -> #{dept.DepartmentName}
Insert into TableFacets -> detailStamp -> iterator

o varStatus = empVarStatus
Add these:
OutputText -> #{emp.EmployeeId}

Smartview 11.1.2.1.102 Refresh problems

I have multiple users experiencing severe refresh problems after upgrading to smartview version 11.1.2.1.102.
Users state Refresh is taking 10-15mins+ when in old version 9x it only takes 1-2mins. In addition users have rebuilt the excel files (copy in new workbook) then all is working fine but when saved/the next day the refresh goes very slow again!
Please can any help?

1. Deleting the Sheet Info fixes the problem for the moment - but the problem soon returns. Do you know what causes the problem, so we can cut the repeating cycle? Is this strictly a multi-user issue? We do have several users that may use the file. Some have version 11.1.2.1.000 (not 103). Oracle's tips doc (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/epm-tips-issues-73-102-1612164.pdf) mentions uncompressed metadata stored in the worksheet.
2. Is there a specific version that allows the Sheet Info fix? Oracle's tip sheet says they need Some have version 11.1.2.1.103, but the users we have seen so far can use this workaround on Some have version 11.1.2.1.000. I'd like to know when at what version this fix starts so I can push other users to update. It would be good to know at which version this issue starts.

In EPM System Release 11.1.2.1, I am opening .xls files with Smart View functions in Excel 2010, but it’s very slow or seems to freeze Excel. How can I fix this?
This is most likely due to an issue with uncompressed metadata stored in the workbook. In most cases, the issue can be found in the first sheet in hidden shapes. Note that the file will open but it may take a very long time, and in some cases the file will open fine with Smart View disabled. In other cases it will not matter. To solve this problem, save a copy of the file and follow the steps below for the version of Smart View you have.
If you are using Smart View 11.1.2.1.103 or above, follow these steps:
1 Open the file (this may take a while) with Smart View enabled.
2 From the Smart View Ribbon, select Sheet Info.
3 Select Delete Smart View Info.
4 Select Workbook and all Sheet Info.

5 Click OK.
6 Save the modified workbook.
7 Reopen the workbook.

2 Right-click on the tab of the first worksheet and select Select All Sheets.
3 Right-click on the tab of the first worksheet and select Move or Copy.
4 In the drop-down box, select (new book) and check Create a Copy.

6 Open the new workbook.
7 Refresh the data.

How to avoid table refresh on row selection

I have a table where the row selection happens on selecting the check box in the first column of the row. The check box is bound to the transient Boolean attribute of my VO to support this functionality which is missing in new version of ADF. The selection is working fine, however I am facing the issue with table refresh. Everytime I click checkbox to select or unselect a row my whole table is getting refreshed which is very unusual for user point of view. This is my code for the checkbox column:

I have to keep autoSubmit="true" on selectBooleanCheckbox because the table has to change color of the row everytime the checkbox is selected or deselected. Also, there are multiple commandToolbarButton such as "Delete" which needs to be enabled/disabled depending on the row selection.
Is there anyway, I can achieve this behaviour with minimal refresh of table?

Yes I do have Add and Delete toolbar button in the panelCollection and also set partialTrigger="tableId" on them. I need this partialTriggers because Delete button should enable/disable depending on number of rows added in the table. However, I tried removing them but it did not work for me, table is still refreshing. BUT this solution does work in combination of other solution i.e. removing ChangeEventPolicy="ppr" on the iterator. I need ppr because I have a form which is bound to the same iterator and should change on table selection. The design is like this,
- Read-only Table on top
- Editable Form below
- Select the row in table and edit the fields in the form
If I remove ppr then my form is not updating with the row selection.

Screen refresh problem where data is entered and the screen doesn't refresh

Many people in the company are experiencing the odd screen refresh problem where data is entered and the screen doesn't refresh to show the updated result in corresponding cell formulas.
Microsoft have issued a hotfix to fix the issue for Excel 2003 as shown. Microsoft released a hotfix for this problem (<a href="advisory?ID=978908">KB978908</a>). Display memory tends to pick up data from hidden sheets and pastes it
into the active screen. No impact on the file. This occurs when protecting and unprotecting worksheets in VBA. I also suspect that enabling and disabling screen refresh contributes to this problem. In any case there is a fix, albeit with the following disclaimer:

Based on your description, Excel does not show the text strings when you typing. It may be caused by the cell format, if we set the cell format as ";;;" in custom format, it will not display the text that you typed.
And the issue may be caused by the third-party input method, there are some compatibility issue between them.
If the issue still exits, please try the following methods
Verify/install the latest updates
Repair your Office program

Container (JPanel) refresh problem

In fact i have a panel (mainPanel) with a button OK, a another panel which display a specific MyJTable and combo box.
In fact, when I clic OK Button, i want to charge my MyJTable with data depends on comboBox.
First, i display a empty white panel and when i clic Ok i want to display my MyJTable.

JPanel emptyPanel = new JPanel();
JPanel combo = new JComboBox();
JButton okButton = new JButton();
MyJTable myJTable;
mainPanel.add(emptyPanel);
mainPanel.add(combo);
mainPanel.add(okButton);I have a refresh problem, i try mainPanel.remove(emptyPanel) and thus mainPanel.add(myJTable), the remove works but the add no :(
In ActionPerformed method when okButton:
myJTable = new myJTable(combo);
mainPanel.remove(emptyPanel);
mainPanel.add(myJTable);
