Input Tax Classification Code

In the Master Item screen an item has been defined as having a zero input tax that is no tax has to be included in its total.
However when the user is creating a PO it is ignoring the tax code and including the tax amount.
Grateful if anyone can help for the issue

Hello,
If Direct Tax Determination rules are used, then
Please give the following a try:
Tax Managers Responsibility > Home > Defaults and Controls > Application Tax Options
Update/define Application Options for Purchasing using Item for "Defaulting Order 1"

  • R12 - Input and Output Tax Classification Codes in Invoices Workbench

    Hello,
    After upgrade from 11i to R12, in invoices workbench, the Tax Classification Code LoV (invoice line field) contains taxes that formerly were both input and output.
    In the E-Business Tax Implementation guide says that :
    Release 11i tax codes and tax groups migrate to E-Business Tax as tax classification
    codes. Payables and Purchasing tax codes migrate as tax classification codes under
    ZX_INPUT_CLASSIFICATIONS. Receivables and Projects tax codes migrate as tax
    classification codes under ZX_OUTPUT_CLASSIFICATIONS.
    In invoices workbench form (APXINWKB), I looked in the record group for the LoV and the values are all from the same view zx_input_classifications_v.
    SELECT lookup_code, meaning, description
      FROM zx_input_classifications_v
    WHERE lookup_type = 'ZX_INPUT_CLASSIFICATIONS'
       AND org_id IN (:inv_sum_folder.org_id, -99)
       AND enabled_flag = 'Y'
       AND nvl(:inv_sum_folder.invoice_date, sysdate)
                    between start_date_active and nvl(end_date_active, :inv_sum_folder.invoice_date)
    UNION
    SELECT lookup_code, meaning, description
      FROM zx_input_classifications_v
    WHERE lookup_type = 'ZX_WEB_EXP_TAX_CLASSIFICATIONS'
       AND org_id IN (:inv_sum_folder.org_id, -99)
       AND enabled_flag = 'Y'
       AND nvl(:inv_sum_folder.invoice_date, sysdate)
                    between start_date_active and nvl(end_date_active, :inv_sum_folder.invoice_date)
    It follows that some formerly Payables and Purchasing tax codes were migrated as 'ZX_INPUT_CLASSIFICATIONS' or 'ZX_WEB_EXP_TAX_CLASSIFICATIONS'.
    Anybody knows how is the 11i tax code data migrated to R12 ? Is this the intended behavior ?
    Thanks

  • Tax Classification Code

    Hi,
    I am trying to select a tax classification code for an AP Invoice at line level and I couldn't find the respective codes.
    I checked in the Look up codes with ZX_INPUT_CLASSIFICATIONS and they are enabled and active.
    Request you to guide me further on how can I view the Tax Classification Codes and select them at AP Invoice line level.
    TIA.

    What you are talking about? I don't know that in Clusterware world.

  • R12-tax classification code

    On R12---
    customer import data in interface table like followings.
    1 line => Item : 9000 KRW Tax Classification Code :'매입과세10%'
    2 line => Tax : 900 KRW Tax Classification Code :'매입과세10%'
    3 line => Item : -9000 KRW Tax Classification Code : NULL
    and after run the Payables Open Interface Import Currenct Pgm 16:15
    found invoice was created like followings.
    1 line => Item : 9000 KRW Tax Classification Code :'매입과세10%'
    2 line => Tax : 900 KRW Tax Classification Code :'매입과세10%'
    3 line => Item : -9000 KRW Tax Classification Code :'매입과세10%'
    the 3rd line was different before and after
    and when do validation , the system calculates item=9000+(-9000) and got 0.
    is it standard functionality?

    Hi,
    If no tax classification code is entered the system will populate it based on the default code applied to either the supplier or you AP config.

  • Tax classification codes being updated to inactive record

    I tried manually update the tax amount which calculated by system,but the system rejected it and now hold all further actions until it is re-process/ re-validate and, yet I am not able to re-process or revalidate. I am getting an error box prompting the system was unable to generate distribution due to tax classification code getting updated to inactive record in HZ_Cust_Site_Uses_All. I am on ver 12g.
    Has anyone encountered such problems? and do anyone know what can be done to fix it

  • Tax classification fields are not appeared in master data

    Dear Experts,
    I searched the forum about my issue but i did not get any solution.
    I am not able to see the tax classification fields in customer master and material master.Even i assigned Country IN to JLST and JCST condition types by T-code OVK1.
    FYI
    I have copied the org elements from standard (which are already given by default).Initially i was able to see 2 different countries with tax MWST in both customer master and material master.
    EX:
    AT   MWST
    DE   MWST
    But i do not wanted these. so i deleted these assignment from OVK1 and assigned country IN to JLST and JCST,and i went to customer master and material master but those fields are not appeared.
    Note:Country of plant,company code and sales organizations is IN
    Help me to view tax classification fields in Master data.
    Thanks&Regards
    Ravikumar.R

    Then how system knows this customer is liable for JLST.
    In customer master, under the Taxes tab, it would be like
    Country::::Name:::::Tax Cat.::::Description::::Tax Classification
    While creating customer master, if your configuration is in line with standard, then under the tab Tax category, you can see MWST flowing automatically.  You just have to input tax classification as 1, 2 etc.,
    Also since as you said above, you are maintaining the combination of country/plant region/customer region/customer tax classification/material tax classification, you can very well differentiate VAT & CST.
    Wherever customer region comes as your plant region, assign VAT tax code and wherever, customer region differs from plant region, assign CST tax code in VK11.

  • Check tax classification. HELP pls

    Hi all,
    I am encountring a problem in IDOC creation. I am creating a Customer record from a file to SAP R/3 4.6 version using IDOCs. I use several segments like E1KNA1M, E1KNB1M, E1KNB5M , E1KNVVM and E1KNVIM. the problem is the Batch-input created by the IDOC didn't fill correctelly the tax classification code for some customers. for others the problem don't occur. I am using the IDOC_INPUT_DEBITOR to creat e the IDOCs.
    I tried the WE19 transaction to simulate the execution in forground and it's stops on the classification taxe code whereas the segment E1KNVIM is correctly filled.
    Did i missed something?
    please help.
    Wail

    How about the material master itself? Guess some country specific requires it to be loaded into material master.

  • TAX CLASSIFICATION (CREATION OF SALE ORDER)

    Hello
                 When we are creating a sale order, we will select the tax classification code like VAT & CST. It Depends upon the consingee address.
    My question, while selecting the tax classification code, I am able to see both types of codes(VAT & CST). I need to display only single type of codes, like if consignee is local, then only vat codes must be displayed and if consignee address is out of the state, only CST tax codes must be displayed.
    how to do this one. should I take any ABAP help or directly we can set from functional side.
    Thanks & Regards
    Maheshwar Rao. G

    Hi,
    When we are creating a sale order, we will select the tax classification code like VAT & CST.
    Do you mean you are manually changing/Selecting the tax classification in the sales order??? If yes, then you can maintain the same in the customer master--Biling tab(VAT or CST what ever is applicable) and system will pick the same autoamatically.
    In sales order, SAP has given the flexibilty to change the tax classification, and based on the combination that is maintained in VK11, system will pick the condition record. As specified, table 368 gives the combination for maintaining the condition record.

  • LOV name for Tax Classificaiton Code

    Hi All,
    In R12 if we navigate to payable manager -> invoice lines we have tax classificaiton code, and it has an LOV can u tell me the LOv name.
    Thanks and Regards
    Srinivas

    Hi,
    Tax classification code is the Tax Rate which we are defined in E -Business Tax Manager Responsibility. We can also define the Tax Rate from payables also.
    A Tax Rate is the rate specified for a tax status. A tax status can have one or several tax rates. In addition, special tax rates may apply to a specific tax jurisdiction.
    Navigation:
    Payables Manager --> Setup --> Tax --> E-Business Tax Home
    Click on Tax configuration and then click on Tax Rates.

  • LSMW Direct Input Method RMDATIND tax classification material

    Hi folks,
    I am loading material master data throught LSMW using direct input method. In MM01 for a particular sales org we have tax classifcation for three different countries US, CA and GB. Could anyone tell me how do I post the tax classification Material data in the table control for these three different countries.

    Points will be rewarded for the answers.

    Hi,
    Not sure about the same requirement of countries & tax codes for all the materials for your upload.
    If this is the case,
    enable the
    Extras->DisplayVariant
    from the menu of the LSMW & check all the check boxes. Now you see the
    __END_OF_RECORD__
    for the structure
    BMMH2
    which has to be mapped with the input structure in the Maintain structure relations step.
    double click on the
    __END_OF_RECORD__
    which will lead to ABAP editor & then put the following code:
    * Canada
    bmmh2-stype = '3'.
    bmmh2-aland = 'CA'.
    bmmh2-taty1 = 'CTX1'.
    bmmh2-taxm1 = '1'.
    transfer_record.
    bmmh2-stype = '3'.
    bmmh2-aland = 'CA'.
    bmmh2-taty1 = 'CTX2'.
    bmmh2-taxm1 = '1'.
    transfer_record.
    else if you have a different set of countries with different tax codes for the set of materials,
    You need to have a separate file for this & map the fields to the structure fields of
    BMMH2
    Hope this helps.

  • Self billing invoice with input tax code

    Hello experts,
    we are currently trying to implement a billing procedure with credit memos within the module SD. In this set-up the recipient of a service (company using the SAP) creates a credit memo for the renderer of a service (a debitor in SAP) showing the amount the recipient of the service/product has to pay. The credit memo will also show VAT (we currently only try to implement a process for transaction within Germany, no cross-border transactions yet). For the recipient of the service (= issuer of the credit memo) the credit memo is similar to an incoming invoice (self billing invoice). Hence, the shown VAT on this credit memo - if all other requirements are met - can be treated as deductible input tax.
    In order to automatically process the credit memo correctly as incoming invoice it has to be linked to a tax code (Steuerkennzeichen) with tax type "V" (=input tax) (Vorsteuerkennzeichen). To achieve that we have created a new condition record (Konditionssatz) that performs that task.
    So currently we create a credit memo request (Gutschriftsanforderung) which is linked to an input tax code (Vorsteuerkennzeichen) via mentioned condition record. We then create the billing document. During creating the billing document an accounting document should also be created. But that is where our approach does not work properly. The system creates a billing document (credit memo) but does not create the corresponding accounting document. We receive the error message:
    Document .... saved (no accounting document generated)
    Message no. VF050
    When trying to release the document to FI via Transaction VF02 we receive the following, more detailed error message:
    Only output tax is allowed for account 480000 1000, VZ is not allowed
    Message no. FS215
    This problem has to be somehow linked to the usage of an input tax code. If we perform the same procedure with an output tax code (Ausgangsteuerkennzeichen) we will not receive the error message and an accounting document is created.
    It seems that the account determination is responsible for the described problem: Although an input tax code is assigned, the account key (as shown in the overview to the applied conditions on the items within the credit memo request (Item - Condition - Detail)) does not change from "MWS" to "VST" and therefore an output tax account (Account Number 480000) is determined for the tax amount. And for that output tax account the usage of an input tax code is not allowed.
    Has anyone an idea how to solve the described problem or how to implement the billing procedure another way?
    We are aware that there is such a functionality within the module MM called "Evaluated Receipt Settlement (ERS)" but this is not suitable for our purposes since we want to implement this within SD and without the need to create an order first which seems to be necessary for ERS.
    Thanks for your help,
    Bernd

  • Input Tax Code mandatory at MIRO screen

    Hi Gurus,
    Is the input tax code mandatory in the MIRO screen? What's the rationale of making it a required field? If the country is tax free, it doesn't make sense to enter the tax code..
    Kindly advise. Thanks.

    Hi,
    SAP had provided a tax code V0 ( Input tax = Zero ). So for all your purchases i hope you might be selecting any one of the tax codes either through info record or through manual addition.
    If the tax code is V0 system wont calcualte any tax and post the cost without tax consideration. whenever it its not equal to V0 system will search for the respecitive condition records or formulas in order to relate the tax conditions related to that particualr tax code so as to post the appropriate tax postings.

  • When creating a travel expense, an incorrect input tax code is defaulted

    Dear experts,
    I'm new with SAP customizing in Travel Management. I have an issue that I cannot solve and I've tried almost all possibilities.When an employee tries to create a travel expense in PR05, him being from Belgium, the default input tax code for any expense type is, for example V3. This code exists in FI and will be transferred correct into accounting. But, if the employee wants to change the the country key in the field Country of Receipt (found in additional info section), anything other than the domestic country (BE) will automatically change the input tax from V3 to V0, which we don't even have in FI.
    I tried the following:
    - checked under global settings and for Belgian trip provision variant there was always Input Tax per Travel Expense Type flagged and V3 with cocd BE;
    - checked each and every expense type for the default input tax and all have V3.
    I had to create a country grouping EU for all European Countries. All maximum rates for different expense types have been defined using this EU code. Might it be this grouping?
    Any new expense type, similar to any of the ones I have problems with, will keep the default V3 tax code no matter if I change the country of receipt.
    Thank you in advance guys,

    No need anymore for an answer, I found out what I was looking for under Define Country-Dependent Default Values for Expense Types
