Insert a oracle table from jquery/ajax

Hi.
i am new on apex and will like to know if can help me with my question.
i am calling an on demmand process from jquery javascript to insert some data on oracle apex_collection (i do delete and insert on the apex collection and works fine) , but i need to insert an oracle database table directly from jquery (through an on demmand process or any other way).
actually, i have an html page with an anonymus pl/sql which shows a list of items where user enter some values; using javascript, i call an on demmand - javascript process that will do the insert on an oracle table, but nothing happens. no data get inserted to my table
actually i am calling the on demmand process using this on javascript, and works nice, but only on apex_collection , not on oracle database table.

it is importante to mention that i am NOT SUBMITTING or refreshing the page at any time, because it will make it too slow, I think it has something to do with the problem but not sure.

the Message 'Order Placed !' is displayed on the page, so it tells me that the javascript is executing (i will like to display some message or alert inside the SAVE ajax process, to make sure it executes and check values at that moment, but don't know how)
and here is my "SAVE" on Demand process, with this settings:
      - Process Point - Run this process when request by ajax
      - Run Process - One per Page visit
whit this source code on it:
   -- Insert into table
    insert into cab_orders(customer_id, order_total, order_timestamp, user_name)
       values(:P1_CODIGO_CLIENTE, null, systimestamp, upper(:APP_USER));
    commit;
Remember that at this point the page has not been refresehed or submitted, maybe tis where the problem come from.

wwv_flow_files is used by APEX to hold uploaded files.
If you incorporate a file browse item on you page, browse for the selected file, then submit the page (having the PL/SQL process described as an on suibmit process) then what I detailed should work.
If you don't need users to have access to this then just go to Home>Utilities>Data Load/Unload in APEX and there is a handy load utility there that does it all for you.

I used to have a manager that would outline the solution to a problem in a few lines of pseudocode, and then firmly believe that the actual solution would be just as brief and simple. shame his pseudocode included such lofty abstractions as "reformat all data"

Is it possible to export (expdp) oracle table from client machine ?

Is it possible to export (expdp*) oracle table from client machine, without using Remote desk top connection ?*
1) Database-10g server is in America
2) client machine is in India
3) Oracle client-10g software is installed in my machine
4) I am able to connect to the server, could see all tables
5) one table is with 35 million record, I wanted to export this table using data pump, is it possible?
note: without using Remort desk top connection.

Create Oracle tables from DTD

Hi,
are there any tools to create oracle tables from dtd's

None to my knowledge. DTD's don't provide any data type information or length information on the data, so at best such a tool could create you tons of VARCHAR2(4000) columns.

INSERT into Oracle table as SELECT from MS Access table

I'm trying to pull some data across from an MS Access database. I really need to pick and choose what is coming across, so migration isn't what I need. I can connect to the Access DB from SQL Developer, export data and so forth. However, I can't seem to find a way to directly access data in the MDB file from an Oracle connection. The two options that I can think of which would be perfect (if they are possible) are:
1. If it's possible to SELECT between two open connections in SQL Developer. I can (and have) had both my Oracle conection where I want the data to go and the source Access connection opened simultaneously, but I can't see any way to address a query from one connection to another.
2. If it's possible to create the equivalent of a database link to the Access MDB file from within my Oracle database so that I can address the query via that.
Right now I'm exporting individual tables from Access to files, then doing a bunch of Search and Replace operations to convert them to SQL scripts with INSERT statements in the format required, then running those scripts in my Oracle connection. It works, but is very slow and tedious.

You need to create a database link based on Database Gateway for ODBC. This gateway allows you to connect from an Oracle database to a foreign data store using a 3rd party ODBC driver.
A suitable 3rd party ODBC driver which allows you to connect from Oracle to MS Access is the ODBC driver from Microsoft available on Windows platforms - I'm not aware of any 3rd party ODBC driver for MS Access available on Unix platforms.
So when using DG4ODBC on Windows you can connect from your Oracle database (even when the database resides on Unix) to DG4ODBC on Windows which then connects to the Ms Access database using the MS Access ODBC driver.

I am doing one way insert +updates that is from SQL Server tables ==> Oracle database tables
I am using tools Sql server Integration service. I can insert data from sql server to oracle but update can't. Please help me how can I update + insert from sql server to oracle database tables easily.

Issues in inserting record in the Oracle table from BizTalk

Hi Gyan,
The error reads The value for field "ACTUALWEIGHT_LASTDIE" is invalid. Value cannot be null.
You need to ensure below things:
1) Ensure that all the columns in the oracle table allow NULL.
2) The field which is getting the error should have property Nillable set to True and Min Occurs = 0.
3) You also need to configure your WCF_Oracle adapter properly i.e. SOAP Action (see for instance this
thread).
Why SOAP Action?
If you used the default bindings which were created when generating your schema, they are usually created wrapped within an operation.
Unless the send port within your orchestration's operation matches the same name as the enclosing operation tag in the "SOAP action header" sending messages using the default setting will fail.
So to ensure that your send port works just supply a URL for the "SOAP action header" setting.

How is it "not possible"?
Either modify the Class for the new fields, or give the new fields default values (if applicable). If the type of an existing column has changed, then only the first option is available.

I want to read sqlserver data everry half an hour and write into oracle tables ( in two different databases). What is the best practice for doing this?
We do not have any database dblinks from oracle to sqlserver and vice versa.

Well, that's easy:
use a TimerTask to do the following every half an hour:
- open a connection to sql server
- open two connections to the oracle databases
- for each row you read from the sql server, do the inserts into the oracle databases
- commit
- close all connections

I have individual tables for Sales, Customer, Order, Item, User & City tags with proper referential constraints. I have to parse the xml & have to insert the corresponsing tables for each & every tag if the ID in individual tag does not exists in the table. If the ID already exist, then, I have to update other attributes in the table for the corresponding ID.
