Insert columns and borders (merged and unmerged mix)

Hello!
I am trying to create a way to manage my grade book for standards based grading...
When I insert the copied columns, the borders either dont come along for the ride, OR it suddenly adds more borders.  I have a stronger border around the perimeter of the whole clump of 3 columns, and itll end up with a colum border for every column in the newly inserted copied cells.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

When I copy a group of cells, I never saw the borders copied in the process.
As I already wrote several times here,
if I select a cell whose at least one border isn't the standard one,
copy its style
paste the style to a range of cells
every cell of the target range receive a set of four borders.

  • [Forum FAQ] SharePoint 2013: Extracting values from a multi-value enabled lookup column and merge values to a multi-value enabled column

For some business requirements, users want to extract values from a multi-value enabled lookup column
and add items to another list based on each separate value. In contrast, others want to find duplicate values in the list and merge associated values to a multi-value enabled column and then
add items to another list based on the merged value. All of these can be achieved using SharePoint Designer 2013 Workflow.

on each separate value using SharePoint Designer 2013.

For example, they have three lists as below. They want to
extract values from the Destinations column
in Lookup2 and add items to Lookup3 based on each country and set Title to current item: ID.
    Lookup1:
    Title (Single line of text)
    Lookup2:
Title (Single line of text), Destinations (Lookup; Get information from: Lookup1 in Title column).\
    Lookup3:
Title (Single line of text), Country (Single line of text).
    Important action
    1. Loop Shape: SharePoint Designer 2013 support two types of loops: loop n times and loop with condition.
Loops must also conform to the following rules:
Loops must be within a stage, and stages cannot be within a loop.
Steps may be within a loop.
Loops may have only one entry and one exit point.
    2. Utility Actions: It contains many actions, such as ‘Extract Substring from Index of String’ and ‘Find substring in String’.
    Three scenarios
We need to loop through the string returned from the look up column and look for commas. There are three
    scenarios:
    1.  No comma but string is non-empty so there is only one country.
    2.  At least one comma so there is at least two or more countries to loop.
    3.  In the loop we have consumed all the commas so we have found the last country.
    Things to note
There are two things to note:
    1. "Find string in string (output to Variable:index)"  will return -1 if doesn't find
    the searched for string.
    2. In the opening statement "Set Variable: Countries to Current Item:Destinations" set the return
field as  "Lookup Values, Comma Delimited".
    Steps to create Workflow
Create a custom list named Lookup1.
Create a custom list named Lookup2, add column: Destinations (Lookup; Get information from: Lookup1 in Title column).
Create a custom list named Lookup3, add column: Country (Single line of text).
Create a workflow associated to Lookup2.
    Add conditions and actions:
Start the workflow automatically when an item is created.
Add item to Lookup2, then workflow will be started automatically and create multiple items to lookup3.
See the below in workflow History List:

    Lookup2:
Title (Single line of text), Test (Single line of text).
    Important actions
    "Call HTTP Web Service"
action: In SharePoint 2013 workflows, we can call a web service using a new action introduced in SharePoint 2013 named Call HTTP Web Service. This action
is flexible and allows you to make simple calls to a web service easily, or, if needed, you can create more complex calls using HTTP verbs as well as allowing you to add HTTP headers.
    “Build Dictionary"
    action:
The Dictionary variable type is a new variable type in the SharePoint 2013 Workflow.
The following are the three actions specifically designed for the Dictionary variable type: Build Dictionary, Count Items in a Dictionary and Get an Item from a Dictionary.
The "Call HTTP Web Service" workflow action would be useless without the new "Dictionary" workflow action.
    Things to note
    The
HTTP URI is set to https://sitename/_api/web/lists/GetByTitle('listname')/items?$orderby=Id%20desc and the HTTP method is set to “GET”. Then the list will be sort by Id in descending order.
    Use Get
    d/results(0)/Id form
    Variable: ResponseContent (Output to
Variable: maxid) to get the Max ID.
    Use Set
Variable: minid to Current List:ID to get the Min ID.
    Use Copy from
    Variable: destianation , starting at
    1 (Output to
Variable: destianation) to remove the space.
    Steps to create Workflow
Create a custom list named Lookup1.
Create a custom list named Lookup2, add column: Test (Single line of text).
Create a custom list named Lookup3, add column: Country (Single line of text).
Create a workflow associated to Lookup3.
Add a new "Build Dictionary" action
to define the http request header:
Add a Call HTTP Web Serviceaction, click on
this and paste your http request.
    To associate the
RequestHeader variable, select the Call action property,
    set the
    RequestHeaders property to
    RequestHeader:
In the Call action, click on
response and associate the response to a new
    variable: ResponseContent (of type Dictionary).
After the Call action add Get item from Dictionary action to get the Max ID.
Add Set Workflow Variable action to get the Min ID.
Add Loop Shape (Loop with Condition) to get all the duplicate titles and integrate them to a string.
    Create item in Lookup2.
The final Stage should look like this:
Start the workflow automatically when an item is created.
Add item to Lookup3, then workflow will be started automatically and create item to lookup2.

GREAT info, but it may be helpful to note that when replacing a portion of the variable "Countries" with a whitespace character, you may cause the workflow to fail in a few specific cases (certain lookup fields will not accept this and will automatically
cancel).  I only found this out when recreating your workflow on a similar, but much more complex list set.
To resolve this issue, I used another utility action (Extract Substring from Index of List) to clear out the whitespace.  I configured it as "Copy from
    Variable: Countries, starting at
1 (Output to Variable: Countries), which takes care of this issue in those few cases.
Otherwise, WOW!  AWESOME JOB!  Thanks!  :)

I would also recommend to write the description into the meta data. This would allow to place a text frame above the image and it is possible to add meta information and file name automatically together with the image, when you place it or even in a prepared template.
Meta data information can be written easily in Bridge in the Meta File Workspace.

In addition to not separate the columns correctly, I see many not separate lines together in the same cell. I'm even thinking that Adobe Acrobat Pro DC has limitations. There is no way to define what points in columns to force break column? Nor create many columns that are useless? How does text to column in Excel, fixed size when we import text, and define where the breaks have columns?

PDF does not contain columns, rows, formats, styles, or other aspects of word processing or spreadsheet file formats.
This is because PDF is decidedly not a word processing or spreadsheet file format or something "like" one of those.
(see ISO 32000 for what PDF "is")
What can optimize the export of PDF page content is to start with a well-formed tagged PDF (ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1 compliant).
Without that export is what it is and one performs whatever content cleanup is needed using the native application for the export file (MS Word or Excel).

  • Italian lang. f4000_it.sql and error in *Insert column value* bad request

I've found an error in the italian translation file f4000_it.sql. At the 1137413th row is needed a point after *&SESSION.* in fact the original version is:

Now I can show in Column Formatting correctly when I search fields in Insert column value

    Hi,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Bug 9888444 has been logged to track this issue. Please note that this issue impacts users running in French, Italian, Japanese and Korean. When you edit a Classic Report column in the Application Builder, the Column Formatting region holds an item "HTML Expression" with an associated shortcut [Insert column value]. When running in French, Italian, Japanese or Korean, when the user clicks on the shortcut link, the popup displays an error "Bad Request". The popup works for all other languages.
We do not recommend that users modify the APEX internal application files. Instead, you can workaround this issue by directly entering column values into the "HTML Expression" text area in the Column Formatting region on the Column Attributes page, similar to the following:
    *#EMPNO#*
where EMPNO is a column on your report.

  • Inserting total column and row

    Hello All,
I'm new to WebI and BOBJ and I'm having some issue with my first report.  I've tried searching the forum for this same issue (or something similar) and came across nothing.  Any help is greatly appreciated!
I'm having a problem inserting a Grand Total column and row to my report. Here's a sample layout of my report:
    *Tech Type | Project | Role | Key Fig1 | Key Fig 2 | Key Fig 3 | Key Fig 4|*
    Proj 1
    Subtot
    Proj 2
    Subtot
    etc
In one tab the key figures are grouped by month and I also created four tabs (one tab for each key figure) that lists the key figures by month.
What I wish to do is insert one row at the end of the report which sums the key figures vertically and a column that adds the key figures horizontally.  I've tried to do SUM but that inserts a row/column after every key fig. I've also tried to do a count and insert a SUM formula with the same effect (a row/column is inserted after every key figure).
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Joaquim M.

    Joaquim,
Through your posting it's hard to visualize what is happening, other than you are not satisfied with the results.  Here are the steps for adding a sum to a horizontal grid with perhaps two columns of information (month, figures).  After the grid is presented, left-click once on the data of figures (do not click on the header cell of figures, click on any cell just below the header).  Once you left-click the column will appear with a "grey" highligting.  Next is to click on the "sigma" icon drop-down and choose "Sum".  Once you click sum a new row at the very bottom of your grid should appear, summarizing [figures].
    Thanks,
    John

  • :new., lob columns and after insert ... for each row trigger

I'm having this little problem with

    I have this little trigger:

  • Selected Column insert, delete and updation at replication end

    Hello,
In GoldenGate, is there a way to get a timestamp column at target table to get updated for some selected columns from source table only. For eg.
    At source - Table Temp_Source , columns - Emp_Id (PK), Emp_Name, Department, Address
    At target - Table Temp_Target, columns - Emp_Id (PK), Emp_Name, Department, Last_Update
The Last_Update column takes timestamp for last updation made at source table which is replicated at target end.
Now I just want the changes made in EMP_Id, EMP_Name , Department columns to be replicated at target table and also the Last_Update to get updated for changes made in these columns only. The changes made in Address column should not affect Last_Update at target end.
The extract or replication script for this should work for insert, update and delete scenarios for specified columns. Using COLS creates problem in insertion as it Abends the replication process.
Is there any way I can achieve this functionality??

At target end I have written the following code in Replication process -
    GetUpdates
    IgnoreInserts
    IgnoreDeletes
    Map <source table>, target <target table>, COLMAP (USEDEFAULTS, LAST_UPDATE = @IF((EMP_ID <> BEFORE.EMP_ID OR EMP_NAME <> BEFORE.EMP_NAME OR DEPT <> BEFORE.DEPT), @getenv("GGHEADER", "COMMITTIMESTAMP"),REFRESH_TIMESTAMP));
But this code entertains only the Primary Key changes i.e. EMP_ID, I want the Last_update to get updated for changes in EMP_NAME and DEPT even but not for Address column change at source end.

  • Parsing data and unmerging cells

Does anyone know how to parse data in Numbers? This is the "text to columns" feature in excel, that allows you to select a vertical range of cells, and have it parse the data into different columns based on a decision rule (e.g. fixed width, or particular separators?)
Similarly, I am also trying to "unmerge" cells. The buttons under "Merge and split" in the Table Inspector does not do what I need, since it actally creates new columns in the spreadsheet, rather than split the cell into existing columns. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks to all for the responses, but they do not resolve the underlying questions.
    1) Regardless of whether there are an even or odd number of columns, Numbers still seems to add columns, rather than split the cell into existing columns, when I use the merge / split function in the Table Inspector. The only "work-around" I've come up with (if you can call it that) is to go to the nearest column that does not have any merged cells, add a column to the right or left, and then copy and paste the non-merged cells, and retype the merged cells from the old column into the unmerged cells of the new column. Very clunky.
    2) Regarding parsing, if I have to get involved in text functions, then it only helps me do fixed width text-to-columns, and it is also quite clunky. If I want to parse using tabs, spaces, commas, etc. do I really need to save the contents of the cells into a separate text file, and then re-import??? There has to be a better way, no?

  • ALV with dropdown in column and other questions

    hi,
I created an editable alv with configuration model via external context mapping.
now I have a column which contains strings and my aim is to show this whole column as a dropdownlist. the possible values of this dropdown are fetched in a database table at  runtime and each cell in this column got its own selected value in this dropdownlist.
changes of the selected values should be written in the database table in a later step.
    1. what changes do I have to do?
should I remove my external mapping concerning the alv and use the setData method? or what is the easiest way to get my dropdownlist in this column instead of normal text (string) ?
    2. should I choose dropdownbykey or by index?
I suppose I have to change the context when changing the selected value in the dropdownlist and the read out the changed context element and update my database table?
    3. how could I access rows (= tuples) in an alv?
    4. how can I avoid that a row could be deleted, inserted or added with the normal functions of the alv?

    Hi Thorsten,
If the possible list of values in the dropdown is different for each row, you need a drop down by index. Else this can be done using a dropdown by key itself.
The only change that you need to do is create a cell editor of type dropdown for that particular column and configure your ALV model.
The sample code for changing the cell editor would be:
        l_alv_model = l_ref_interfacecontroller->get_model( ).
      DATA:
         lr_column_settings TYPE REF TO if_salv_wd_column_settings,
         lr_column type ref to CL_SALV_WD_COLUMN.
         lr_dropdown TYPE REF TO CL_SALV_WD_UIE_DROPDOWN_BY_KEY.
      lr_column_settings ?= l_alv_model.
      lr_column = lr_column_settings->get_column( <column name> ).
      CREATE OBJECT lr_dropdown EXPORTING
      SELECTED_KEY_FIELDNAME= '<fieldname>'
      lr_column->set_cell_editor( lr_dropdown ).
Here, you can substitute the field name with your field name that has to be displayed as a dropdown.
The dropdown list can be populated in the wddoinit method by attaching a value set to the attribute in the context node info. Everything else will be like you do in a normal table. You can so a get_static_attributes of your elements and persist in tables. Whenever you change the selected value, the context will be updated immediately. You can have a user defined function like 'Save' or something where you can just read the context and process the data.
If you do not want to display any of the normal functions, you can do the following:
    data: lt_functions type SALV_WD_T_FUNCTION_STD_REF,
            ls_function type SALV_WD_s_FUNCTION_STD_REF.
    lt_functions = l_alv_model->if_salv_wd_function_settings~get_functions_std( ).
    loop at lt_functions into ls_function.
    ls_function-r_function->set_visible( CL_WD_UIELEMENT=>E_VISIBLE-NONE ).
    endloop.
The above code will hide all the standard functions. If you want to hide specific ones, do a get_function(id) and set_visible.
    Hope this helps.

  • Creating a view with existing GeoRaster columns and new SDO_GEOMETRY column

    Hi,
In a nutshell, I already have 1 real table, which has several attributes including types such as text, numbers etc. but also a GeoRaster column. This table works great, has its metadata stored properly and is spatially indexed; no worries.
I am then creating a view based on the above mentioned table, including the GeoRaster column. This worked, no problems. However now I want the same view to also have a SDO_GEOMETRY column which explicitly stores the spatial extent for each GeoRaster. Note the original table does not have this SDO_GEOMETRY column. So, I have created a revised SQL statement to create the view, but now it dynamically adds a new column and puts the GeoRaster.spatialextents into the SDO_GEOMETRY column.
This worked, the data made it into the view, but when we try to view the SDO_GEOMETRY in a viewer, we get errors. I added a system metadata entry for the view, but this did not help. Also, it is not possible to spatially index a view so I knew that was not the problem.
I think what has happened is the SDO_GEOMETRY column is in a sort of "limbo", where because it was not contained in the original table (and indexed there) and it is not able to be indexed in a view, it cannot be manipulated/viewed/used spatially.
Here is a snippet describing the original table:
    "IMAGERY_ID" NUMBER NOT NULL ENABLE,
    "CAM_ANGLE_X" NUMBER,
    "CAM_ANGLE_Y" NUMBER,
    "CAM_ANGLE_Z" NUMBER,
    "SPEED" NUMBER,
    "HEADING" NUMBER,
    "IMAGE_GEOR" "SDO_GEORASTER",
    "ACQUISITION_TIME" TIMESTAMP (6),
    "SENSOR_ID" NUMBER,
    "DOWNWARD_LOOKING" CHAR(1 BYTE),
    "ORG_ID" NUMBER,
    "POC_ID" NUMBER,
    "FILE_NAME" VARCHAR2(100 BYTE),
    "CORRELATION_ID" VARCHAR2(256 BYTE),
And here is the statement I used to create the new view:
    CREATE VIEW level_0_img_view (imagery_id, cam_angle_x, cam_angle_y, cam_angle_z, speed, heading, image_geor, acquisition_time, sensor_id, downward_looking, org_id, poc_id, file_name, correlation_id, geor_extents)
    AS
    SELECT a.imagery_id, a.cam_angle_x, a.cam_angle_y, a.cam_angle_z, a.speed, a.heading, a.image_geor, a.acquisition_time, a.sensor_id, a.downward_looking, a.org_id, a.poc_id, a.file_name, a.correlation_id, a.image_geor.spatialextent
    FROM imagery a
    WHERE a.file_name LIKE '%.lev0';
Note in the above statement that the "geor_extents" column is the new column added dynamically (and not in the original table). Note the new column with the SDO_GEOMETRY data is flawless, I have looked at the records in SQL developer and all the data is there.
    Any ideas?
In case you're wondering, I do have reasons for: (i) wanting an explicit column with the SDO_GEOMTRY (serving via WFS), and (ii) not wanting to alter the original table to include the equivalent SDO_GEOMETRY column.
    Cheers,
    M.

    Hi,
if you are having problems to display your view spatial columns in MapBuilder/MapViewer, you may be missing to register the view information in the metadata (name and spatial columns).
For example, lets see the following table that simulates your case:
    SQL> desc pci_image;
    Name Null? Type
    GEORID NOT NULL NUMBER
    TYPE VARCHAR2(32)
    GEORASTER MDSYS.SDO_GEORASTER
    -- create a view
    create view pci_img_view (georid,georaster,geor_extents)
    as
    select a.georid,a.georaster,a.georaster.spatialextent
    from pci_image a;
-- register metadata for view spatial columns (GeoRaster and geometry column)
    insert into user_sdo_geom_metadata
    select 'PCI_IMG_VIEW','GEORASTER.SPATIALEXTENT', diminfo, srid
    from user_sdo_geom_metadata where table_name = 'PCI_IMAGE'
    insert into user_sdo_geom_metadata
    select 'PCI_IMG_VIEW','GEOR_EXTENTS', diminfo, srid
    from user_sdo_geom_metadata where table_name = 'PCI_IMAGE'
There is no need to index the spatial columns if they have been indexed before.
Now, if you go in MapBuilder you should see the the view name in the list of geometry tables, and be able to create a theme on column GEOR_EXTENTS (select it on the combo box) and to preview it.
For the GeoRaster column, currently the view name is not shown on the list of GeoRaster tables in MapBuilder.
For GeoRaster data, MapBuilder uses the contents of metadata view user_sdo_geor_sysdata, and then it would be needed to register the view contents there. We will talk with Jeffrey to check if there is any problem in registering
view contents in this metadata view. If the view name and georaster column is registered in user_sdo_geor_sysdata,
then it should show in MapBuilder. But you can still create a GeoRaster theme for this view using a SQL command, and should be able to preview it in MapBuilder.
-- create a GeoRaster theme based on view Georaster column.
    insert into user_sdo_themes values (
    'PCI_IMAGE_V_GEOR',
    'View of georaster column',
    'PCI_IMG_VIEW',
    'GEORASTER',
    '<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <styling_rules theme_type="georaster" raster_id="1" raster_table="RDT_PCI" raster_bands="0,1,2">
    </styling_rules>');
    -- commit changes
    commit;

  • Insert, update and delete data in a table using webdynpro for abap

    Dear All,
I have a requirement to create a table allowing the user to add rows in it and update a row as well as delete a row from that table. To do this I guess I have to make use of ALV.But using ALV I am not able to enter data to a table where as I can make a column editable delete a row etc. please guide me to perform these operations(insert, update and delete) on table.
    Thanks,
    Reddy.

    Hi Sridhar,
By using ALV you can do all insert delete etc things. if you want to edit i mean you can yenter data in ALV.
    Check this...

  • Insert, update and delete trigger over multiple Database Links

    Hello guys,
first of all I'll explain my environment.
I've got a Master DB and n Slave Databases. Insert, update and delete is only possible on the master DB (in my opinion this was the best way to avoid Data-inconsistencies due to locking problems) and should be passed to slave databases with a trigger. All Slave Databases are attached with DBLinks. And, additional to this things, I'd like to create a job that merges the Master DB into all Slave DB's every x minutes to restore consistency if any Error (eg Network crash) occurs.
What I want to do now, is to iterate over all DB-Links in my trigger, and issue the insert/update/delete for all attached databases.
This is possible with the command "execute immediate", but requires me to create textual strings with textually coded field values for the above mentioned commands.
What I would like to know now, is, if there are any better ways to provide these functions. Important to me is, that all DB-Links are read dynamically from a table and that I don't have to do unnecessary string generations, and maybe affect the performance.
    I'm thankful for every Idea.
    Thank you in advance,
    best regards
    Christoph

Well, I've been using mysql for a long time, yes, but I thought that this approach would be the best for my requirements.
Materialized View's don't work for me, because I need real-time updates of the Slaves.
So, sorry for asking that general, but what would be the best technology for the following problem:
I've got n globally spread Systems. Each of it can update records in the Database. The easies way would be to provide one central DB, but that doesn't work for me, because when the WAN Connection fails, the System isn't available any longer. So I need to provide core information locally at every System (connected via LAN).
Very important to me is, that Data remain consistent. That means, that it must not be that 2 systems update the same record on 2 different databases at the same time.
I hope you understand what I'd need.
Thank you very much for all your replies.
    best regards
    Christoph
PS: I forgot to mention that the Databases won't be very large, just about 20k records, and about 10 queriees per second during peak times and there's just the need to sync 1 Table.
