Insert data into mySQL with BPEL
I want to do an insert/update on a table in mySQL. In step 4 of the adapter configuration wizard I select "Perform operation on table" and choose insert/update when I click on next I can see all the tables in the mySQL database but if I choose the table I want to insert to I get the following error message:
"The following error occurred:
XX.XX.ZA.tablename
Please consult the Database Adapter documentation for detailed instructions on how to fix this problem."
We use BPEL 10.1.2.0.2 and Jdeveloper 10.1.2.3.0

In the same step 4, please try the option pure SQL and enter the query, "select count(*) from tablename"
Please check whether this is working fine ? And also, were you able to see the records in the JDeveloper IDE with the connecting to the MySQL Database...
And aslo, the data source you have created for accessing the mySQL Database in weblogic console, what username credentials have you given ? please check whether that username has privileges to the table you want to select ? And , the table you are selecting is under the same username schema or another schema ? If it is a different schema , then find out whether the username you have given while creating the data source has read/write privileges to that table ?

Problem in inserting data into MySQL table

I have a table with just two fields FIRSTNAME and SECONDNAME in MySQL. I am accepting the First Name and Second Name in two text fields and then trying to insert them into the MySQL table. I have set the concurrency of the rowset to CONCUR_UPDATABLE and am using the code clip for Database row insert with the appropriate changes. When I run the application it doesnt give me any errors but the data is also not inserted in the table. Can someone pls help me out.

Help with inserting Date into MySQL DB from registration form input
I'm trying to automatically input the registration date of a customer into my MySQL DB. Nothing seems to work. I've tried timestamp in a table field, I've tried a hidden field in the form. Any suggestions?
You can use NOW() in the insertion record code, it will display like a time stamp format (date + time). Otherwise u can use this if u just want to store the date, $today = date("j F Y "); . It will display like 21 May 2009. Further information about date() function you can get it HERE.

Insert data into Access with Auto-Increment column
Is there anyone out there that has come across this problem I am experiencing?
I have a form I'm trying to submit to an Access DB that has an Auto-Incremented Table Column. I have followed Stefan Cameron's instructions to a "T" on his blog page here:

My OLEDB Connection Record Source is the SQL Query which reads: SELECT FedTaxID, LegalID FROM dbtest; My simple test DB is Access and its only 3 columns; dbID, FedTaxID, LegalID. dbID is the Auto-Incremented Column.
If I remove the Auto column from my DB table it inserts just fine but I get this error:

BPEL doesn't insert Date into BAM dataobjects
I have integrated BPEL process to send data into BAM data objects. I can insert data into BAM successfully when I don't map "PO Creation date" (one of the field of payload--variableData--data) but it doesn't insert data when I map PO creation date.
I am getting PO creation date in format "20080405 103354". I tried to use Date format but I got no success.
It takes Timestamp field under actionData-->header successfully without formating it.

Your usage of to_date -- without supplying a specific format mask -- is still relying on NLS_DATE_FORMAT settings, just as the OP's original was with its implicit conversion. It's rather pointless to use to_date without a format mask.
The only difference between
insert .... to_date('12-Jun-1996')
and simply
insert .... '12-Jun-1996'
is that in the first you are explicitly telling oracle to do what it would implicitly do in the second. Either way, it is relying on the NLS_DATE_FOMAT that is in effect. -

A DataGrid is row-based rather than cell-based with each row
corresponding to an item in an underlying collection (specified in the
dataProvider property). In order to add data to a DataGrid you
manipulate the underlying collection, rather than the grid directly.
Based on the limited description of your problem I would imagine you
would need to create dynamic objects with property names that correspond
to the dataFields of your dynamically created datagrid columns.
So if you had created columns with dataFields "alpha", "beta" and
"gamma" on your datagrid, you could create an item in your grid by
adding the following object to your dataProvider:

How do I run a database procedure that inserts data into a table from within a Crystal report?
I'm using CR 2008 with an Oracle 10i database containing a number of database tables, procedures and packages that provide the data for the reports I'm developing for my department. However, I'd like to know when a particular report is run and by whom. To do this I have created a database table called Report_Log and an associated procedure called prc_Insert_Entry that inserts a new line in the table each time it's called. The procedure has 2 imput parameters (Report_Name & Username), the report name is just text and I'd like the username to be the account name of the person logged onto the PC. How can I call this procedure from within a report when it's run and provide it with the 2 parameters? I know the procedure works, I just can't figure out how to call it from with a report.
I'd be grateful for any help.

Just so I'm clear about what you want:
You have a Stored procedure in your report. When the report runs, you want that same procedure to write to a table called Report_Log.
If this is what you want the simple answer is cannot be done. Crystal's fundamental prupose is to read only, not write. That being said, there are ways around this.
One way is to have a trigger in your database that updates the Report_Log table when the Stored Procedure is executed. This would be the most efficient.
The other way would be to have an application run the report and manage the entry.

BY USING THE LOOKUP TABLE TO MARCH THE NAMES UNDER THE Engineer COLUMN, SPECIALTY COLUMNE DISTICTIVLY BY JOINING THE DIMSPECILTY TO RISTIVE THE PRIMARY KEY AND FILL IT IN THE DIMUSER TABLE AS A FOREIGNE KEY. -
Reading file and dump data into database using BPEL process
I have to read CSV files and insert data into database.. To achieve this, I have created asynchronous bpel process. Added Filed Adapter and associated it with Receive activity.. Added DB adapter and associated with Invoke activity. Total two receive activity are available in process, when tried to Test through EM, only first receive activity is completed, and waiting on second receive activity. template "Define Service Later". I followed below steps, please correct me if I am wrong/missing anything. Your help is highly appreciated...
Step 1-
Created File adapter and corresponding Receive Activity (checkbox create instance is checked) with input variable.
Step 2 - Then in composite.xml, dragged the
web service under "Exposed Services" and linked the web service with Bpel process.
Step 3 - Opened .bpel file and added the DB adapter with corresponding Invoke activity, created input variable. Web service is created of Type "Service" with existing WSDL(first option aginst WSDL URL).
and added Assign activity between receive and invoke activities.
Deployed the composite to server, when triedTest it
manually through EM, it is promting for input like "subElmArray Size", then I entered value as 1 with corresponding values for two elements and click on Test We Service button.. Ptocess is completing in error. The error is

Problem inserting data into database (increment problem)
I have a servlet page that gets various data from a bean and executes multiple SQL statements to store this data. Beacuase i want to insert data into a number of tables that are related with a one to many relationship I am not using the auto increment function in mySQL. Instead i have created a counter bean that increments each time the servlet is involked. I am using this counter to set the primary key ID in the quesiton table that i insert data into and I am alos inserting it into another table as a foreign key which relates a number or records in the outcomes table to one record in the question table. I am havin a few problems getting it to work.
Firstly the bean counter works but when the tomcat server is shutdown the counter is reset which will cause conflicts in the database no doubt and secondly even though i have not shut my server down i seem to be getting the following error saying there is a duplicate key even though there is no data in the database.

Does anyone know where i am going wrong or how to fix this problem. I would like to know wheter i am doing this the right way. Is thjis the most practical way to use a counter bean or is there a better safer way to do it.

Update vault errors connected to Spotlight rescan?
I haven't had a vault update error for a long time. Then I had spotlight rescan my external drives. Now I get ONLY errors, on external and internal vaults. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Brent
