Insert into two tables with trigger on PK in second table

Hi evereone, ineed help.
I have two tables (organizations, addresses).
On addresses table i have trigger on PK. When i do insert i must get this param and insert into OrganizationTable for reference.
Without ADF i can do insert with returning on addresses, than do insert on organizations with this returning param. How can i do this in ADF business logic using trainTaskFlow?
Thanks all.

  • Insert into two tables, how to insert multiple slave records

    Hi, I have a problem with insert into two tables wizard.
    The wizard works fine and I can add my records, but I need to enter multiple slave table records.
    My database:
    table: paper
    `id_paper` INTEGER(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
    `make` VARCHAR(20) COLLATE utf8_general_ci NOT NULL DEFAULT '',
    `model` VARCHAR(20) COLLATE utf8_general_ci NOT NULL DEFAULT '',
    `gsm` INTEGER(11) NOT NULL,
    PRIMARY KEY (`id_paper`)
    table: paper_data
    `id_paper_data` INTEGER(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
    `id_paper` INTEGER(11) NOT NULL,
    `value` DOUBLE(15,3) NOT NULL,
    `nanometer` INTEGER(11) NOT NULL,
    PRIMARY KEY (`id_paper_data`)
    I need to add multiple fields "value" and "nanometer"
    Current form looks like this:
    Make:
    Model:
    Gsm:
    Value:
    nanometer:
    I need it to look like this:
    Make:
    Model:
    Gsm:
    Value:
    nanometer:
    Value:
    nanometer:
    Value:
    nanometer:
    Value:
    nanometer:
    and so on.
    The field "id_paper" in table paper_data needs to get same id for entire transaction. Also how do I set default values for each field "nanometer" on my form the must be different (370,380,390 etc)?
    Thanks.

    Ive tried many different ways of combining the Insert into Multiple Tables wizard and the insert record wizard with Link Transactions, all with no luck.  Either only the album info gets inserted, or a ALBUM_ID cannot be null error from MySQL.  Here is the structure of the tables

    Hi:
    how to update two tables with trigger ?
    I have two tables :
    (1)ASIA
    MI number;
    (2)ASIA_P
    ID number;
    When I insert a new value into the asia.MI ,I also can
    insert the same value into the asia_p.id field.
    I have write a trigger as follows but it does't work.
    create or replace trigger MI_TRG
    before insert on asia
    for each row
    declare
    seq number;
    begin
    select MI_SEQ.Nextval into seq from dual;
    :new.MI:=seq;
    insert into ASIA_PRO(MI_ID)

    (seq);
    end MI_TRG;
    How to realize it ?

  • How to insert into two differents tables at the same time

    Hi
    I'm newer using JDev, (version 3.1.1.2 cause the OAS seems to support just the JSP 1.0)
    and I want to insert into two differents tables at the same time using one view.
    How can I do that ?
    TIA
    Edgar

    Oracle 8i supports 'INSTEAD OF' triggers on object views so you could use a process similar to the following:
    1. Create an object view that joins your two tables. 'CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW test AS SELECT d.deptno, d.deptname, e.empname FROM DEPT d, EMP E'.
    2. Create an INSTEAD OF trigger on the view.
    3. Put code in the trigger that looks at the :NEW values being processed and determines which columns should be used to INSERT or UPDATE for each table. Crude pseudo-code might be:
    IF :NEW.deptno NOT IN (SELECT deptno FROM DEPT) THEN
    INSERT INTO dept VALUES(:NEW.deptno, :NEW.deptname);
    INSERT INTO emp VALUES (:NEW.deptno, :NEW.empname);
    ELSE
    IF :NEW.deptname IS NOT NULL THEN
    UPDATE dept SET deptname = :NEW.deptname
    WHERE deptno = :NEW.deptno;
    END IF;
    IF :NEW.empname IS NOT NULL THEN
    UPDATE emp SET empname = :NEW.empname
    WHERE deptno = :NEW.deptno;
    Try something along those lines.

  • Insert into two tables with a single query (same ID)

    Hello,
    I want to insert two tables at the same time ( with a single query) provided that both records get inserted with the same id. How do I do this?
    Table Movies
    id
    name
    Table Category
    movie_id
    cat_typea) Insert into first table, retrieve the id (may be by using my_sequence.currval and then insert into another table.
    issue: Makes three query to the db, I am also guessing that when multiple people try to insert there will be an issue, I might be wrong.
    I don't have any other idea.
    Greatly appreciated!

    Why don't use multitable insert ? It's available from 9i.
    A sequence.nextval will return the same value within the whole instruction
    so all records can be inserted with the same id.
    Look at this example:
    DROP TABLE A;
    DROP TABLE B;
    drop sequence a_seq;
    CREATE TABLE A(
      ID NUMBER,
      FIRSTNAME VARCHAR2(50)
    CREATE TABLE B AS
    SELECT id, firstname lastname FROM a;
    CREATE SEQUENCE a_seq
    START WITH 1;
    INSERT ALL
    INTO A(ID, FIRSTNAME) VALUES(A_SEQ.NEXTVAL, FNAME)
    INTO B(ID, LASTNAME) VALUES(A_SEQ.NEXTVAL, LNAME)
    SELECT 'fname ' || LEVEL FNAME, 'lname ' || LEVEL LNAME
    FROM DUAL
    CONNECT BY LEVEL < 10
    COMMIT;
    SELECT * FROM A;
    SELECT * FROM b;
    DROP TABLE A succeeded.

  • Apex Application inserting into two tables from two regions in a page

    Hey Guys,
    Fairly new to apex like two days. So please bare with me. I am using apex 4.0.2.00.07.
    I have a page with two regions. The first region has only one row and I have no problems accessing it and inserting those values into the table this is what I used to access one column from that one row APEX_APPLICATION.G_F03(1)
    The second region is an interactive report, to which I have managed to add a checkbox and a textbox.
    1)So if a checkbox has been checked off the row should be inserted
    2) if the textbox has been entered it should replaceone of the values.
    My question is how to access the second region? I started a loop based on the rows in the collection but that is as far as I got.
    FOR idx IN 1..l_collectionTable_name
    loop
    end loop
    Any help would be greatly appreciated?
    Thank you

  • Fetch data from one table and insert into two tables in desired format

    I have similar to the following data in a table and it is not normalized. The groupID is being used to group two records of similar nature.
    DECLARE @OldDoc TABLE (oldDocID INT, groupID INT, deptID INT)
    INSERT INTO @OldDoc (oldDocID, groupID) VALUES (1, NULL, 111),(2,NULL,111),(3,1,111),(4,NULL,333),(5,1,222),(6,NULL,333),(7,2,222),(8,2,333),(9,NULL,111),(10,3,222),(11,NULL,333),(12,3,444)
    I need to process the data from the above table (@OldDoc) and write into two new tables (@NewDoc and @NewDocGroup) as follows.
    oldDocID should be stored as newDocID when inserting to @NewDoc table. Only records with groupID NULL and one record (first one) per group should be considered (For example, oldDocID 5 is not considered as 3 and 5 belong to the same groupID 1) for insertion.
    DECLARE @NewDoc TABLE (newDocID INT)
    INSERT INTO @NewDoc (newDocID) VALUES (1),(2),(3),(4),(6),(7),(9),(10),(11)
    All records from @OldDoc should be considered for insertion into @NewDocGroup table. OldDocID is inserted as NewDocID and deptID is as-is. Instead of groupID, the ID of the first record in the
    group should be considered as parentNewDocID (For example, 3 is considered as parentNewDocID for newDocID 5 as 3 and 5 belong to the same groupID in @OldDoc table) for the newDocID.
    DECLARE @NewDocGroup (newDocID INT, parentNewDocID INT, deptID INT)
    INSERT INTO @NewDocGroup (newDocID, parentNewDocID, deptID) VALUES (1,1,111),(2,2,111),(3,3,111),(4,4,333),(5,3,222),(6,6,333),(7,7,222),(8,7,333),(9,9,111),(10,10,222),(11,11,333),(12,10,444)
    How do I accomplish the above using SQL ? Thanks for the help.

    >> I have similar to the following data in a table and it is not normalized. The group_id is being used to group two records [sic] of similar nature. <<
    Rows are not records. Tables have to have a key by definition. You do not do math with identifiers, so they should not be numeric. Let's ignore that error for now. In short, you are posting garbage. If you had followed Forum Netiquette, would you have posted
    this?

    Just like punch cards and mag tape data processing! Being old and being new are a status, not another kind of entity. But that is how mag tapes work. And you even use the verb "fetch" from tape files. This design flaw is called  attribute splitting.
    Do you have a Male_Personnel and Female_Personnel table? NO! It is just Personnel!
    >> old_doc_id should be stored as new_doc_id when inserting to New_Documents table. Only records [sic] with group_id NULL and one record [sic] (first [sic; no ordering in a table] one) per group should be considered (For example, old_doc_id 5 is not considered

    Think about your punch card mindset. Why did you physically materialize that redundant New_Documents table? Let me answer that: this is how you work with punch cards! In SQL we use a VIEW:
    CREATE VIEW New_Documents (new_doc_id)
    AS
    SELECT old_doc_id
      FROM Old_Documents;
    >> All records [sic] from Old_Documents should be considered for insertion into New_Documents_Groups table. The old_doc_id is inserted as new_doc_id and dept_nbr is as-is. Instead of group_id, the ID [sic: which identifier??] of the first [sic: tables
    have no ordering like a deck of punch cards] record [sic] in the group should be considered as parent_new_doc_id (For example, 3 is considered as parent_new_doc_id for new_doc_id 5 as 3 and 5 belong to the same group_id in Old_Documents table) for the new_doc_id.
    <<
    Why not use 5 as the parent? My guess is that you are trying to form equivalence classes. See:

    You can't insert data into two tables in a single operation.
    It requires
    two insert record queries to be run in succession.

  • How to insert into two tables using a Single ADF creation form?

    Hi,
    I need to make a ADF Creation Form that will insert the data at same time in two tables... Like i have two tables Track (Track_id,Track_Name)
    and Module ( Module_id, Track_id, Module_name, Module_Short_name) and i have to insert the data in both the tables using Same Creation Form.
    can anybody help me out and gave me the solution,how to do that?
    Thanks

    if you want to insert different data into two different tables then you can drag the two data objects into creation form..
    If you want to duplicate the data inserted in the one table to another then you can follow two approach
    1. Drag and drop one table, When Save button is invoked then insert data into another table using callable statement.
    or
    2. Create on-insert trigger in Table1 where you can insert data into table2.

    is there any data dictionary which stores details about default

    The default value for a column is the value that will be stored
    for that column if you do not provide one in your insert
    statement. If you do provide a value, then it will be stored in
    the column.
    You can query user_tab_columns ( or all_ or dba_)to see the
    default value assigned to a column.

  • How to use insert into...select * from...if source table is huge in size

    The source tables are having crores of data (growing tables). Tables with 4crores, 17cr. We want these tables to be copied frequently to our local database. Previously it was done by export-import through windows scheduled task. but now we are planning to do it as database jobs. We are fetching the datas with query
    insert into dest_tablee( select * from source_table@dblink) when we tried with this it was throwing exception like enough table space is not there. And also it was found that frequent commits has to be used while populating datas from big tables. So tried with cursor But it was very slow and again we got the exception like 'the table space unable to extend segment by 16 in undo tablespace 'UNDOTBS1'.
    After that we tried with the group by. In this case we got the exception like unable to extend table and also index in the table space. For this the solution is to add datafile. Again we have increase the table space. Now the procedure is running very slow(taking much time. It might be because of the conditions used in the query).
    Is there any other option to copy the datas from such a big tables? can we use the same sort of query?
    Friends please help me to sort it out.
    Thanks in Advance

    How frequently you will be doing the COPYING of the data ?
    If you have any constraints you can disable and enable after all the records have been copied.
    Please look at this link this should help.

  • Problem Inserting into object view with OracleXmlSave

    Gurus,
    I'm trying to insert into an object view with
    multiple collections of objects representing a master/detail relationship and a CLOB column, but I've this error:
    oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: Error Interno
    at oracle.xml.sql.dml.OracleXMLSave.saveXML(OracleXMLSave.java:1967)

    at onix.interface_isbn.OnixXmlLoader.<init>(OnixXmlLoader.java:23)
    at onix.interface_isbn.correrLoader.main(correrLoader.java:77)
    I'm using OracleXmlSave with insertXML method to do this.
    Is There any limitations to do that? (example
    number of tables into the view, columns datatype).
    I'd appreciate any comments
    Thank

    No known limitations. Please post the sample DDL to create your object types and object view, along with an example of the example XML document you're trying to insert.

  • Comparing Two tables with 300k records and update one table

    Could you let me know how to compare two tables having 300k records and update one table.below is the scenario.
    Table Tabl_1 has columns A,B and Tabl_2 has columns B,new_column.
    Column B has same data in both the tables.
    I need to update Tabl_2 in new_column with Tabl_1 A column data by comparing B column in both tables.
    I m trying to do using PLSQL Tables.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Whenever you have a problem, please post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) from all tables involved, so that the people who want to help you can re-create the problem and test their ideas.
    Also post the results you want from that data, and an explanation of how you get those results from that data, with specific examples.
    If you're asking about a DML statement, such as UPDATE, the CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements should re-create the tables as they are before the DML, and the results  will be the contents of the changed table(s) when everything is finished.
    Always say which version of Oracle you're using (for example, 11.2.0.2.0).
    See the forum FAQ: https://forums.oracle.com/message/9362002

    Why are you trying to use PL/SQL tables?  If tabl_1 and tabl_2 are regular database tables, it will be much simpler and faster just to use them.
    Depending on your requirements, you can do an UPDATE or MERGE, either in SQL or in PL/SQL.

  • Insert into CLOB fails with Oracle ODBC driver version 9.02.00.65

    I tried to insert into CLOB using the latest Oracle ODBC driver 9.02.00.65 and it fails. But the same works with earlier versions of ODBC driver earlier to 9.02.00.65 ie., 9.02.00.63.
    Here is the code snippet I tried. Any help now is highly appreciated as I am in the crunch time.
    I tried the same code snippet with VARCHAR2 column with the same driver and it works.

    Hi,
    Since 9.2 has been desupported for error correction you will not be able to download that version from OTN. You should ask whoever is providing the training if their is an alternate version you can use. The only versions that you will be able to download from oracle.com is 10.2 11.1, and 11.2.
