What will be the easy way to insert the previous value in this table, for example if you look in row 3 I want to insert 200510, in row 6 I want to insert 200390 in row 8
I want to insert 200310..

There is no rownum. Oracle will calculate the rownum according to you statement. Don't confuse with ROWID which is something completely different.
do you thing that the merge statemenet will work?
The problem is still: Whats the previous value. You still don't have a order by in you sql. Simply executing
alter table szslife parallel 2;
might change the result - no order by. Inserting of new rows might change the output of you sql. So how do you what to decide which one is the previous value? There is no order in a table!! You have to use order by in your sql statement.

How to find the PREVIOUS value of a non-DB item?

I want to do a simple thing but found it impossible.
I want to find the previous value of a non-DB item in a form.
I tried creating a text item and populating it using PRE-TEXT-ITEM but that does not work.
WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM does not work either because WVI fires only after item value has changed.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You can use Global variables for to store old values also on Post-query populate a value in separate field or Parameter

How can i insert the variable value in MS ACCES Query

i am creating one Query (query1) in MS ACCESS ( like we creaate Tables, Forms and Reports in MS ACCESS ) in this Query i have given 2 constent value in BETWEEN CLAUSE , after that i Created a CROSS QUERY which is based on the privious Query (query1).
Now i want to insert the variable value using JSP and HTML in to Query(query1).
Doing this i want to execute the Query (query1) with variable perameters and
wants to get the risponce form CROSS QUERY.
In this matter how can i insert the value in Query(query1) using JDBC and JSP.

How to get the previous value of Potential Revenue, as Number

PRE('<Revenue>') will return the previous value of the Potential Revenue (in Opportunity object), as a string.
However, i need to manipulate the returned value as number in order to evaluate if the previous value is less a certain amount.
PRE('<Revenue>')*.3204<50000
The expression about, is meant to convernt the value to a different currency, and evaluate if its less than 50000.
Is there any way I can be able to achive this?

Compare the current value with the previous value in the same column

I have to include a statement in a query which allows to compare the current value of column A with the previous value of column A (same column). from there, I need to add a condition in order to have the expected result.
Let's take an example to illustrate what I want to achieve:
I have the following columns in table called 'Charges':
Ship_id batch_nr Order_nr Price

SID1111 9998 MD5552 50

I want to check if the ship_id of row 2,3 (and more if available) is equal to the ship_id of row 1.
If it is the case, then value 'together with the first batch_nr' in row 2 and 3 under Price column. If not, then keep the original value of Price column

]That looks like the query you were using before you started this thread.
Modify it, using the analytic fucntions FIRST_VALUE and LAG, like I showed you.
I see that you did simplify the problem quite a bit, and it's good that you did that.
It doesn't matter that your real problem involves joins or GROUP BY. Analytic functions are calculated on the results after all joins and GROUPS BYs are done. Just substitute your real expressions for the simplified ones.
For example, in your simplified problem, there was a column called order_nr, but I see now that's it's really called o.ordnum. Where the solution I posted earlier says "ORDER BY order_nr", you should say "ORDER BY o.ordnum".
Here's a less obvious example: in your simplifed problem, there was a column called price, but I see now that it's really SUM (tc1.chrg_amt + tc2.chrg_amt + tc3.chrg_amt). Where the solution I posted earlier says "TO_CHAR (price)", you should say "TO_CHAR (SUM (tc1.chrg_amt + tc2.chrg_amt + tc3.chrg_amt))". (You can't use an alias, like "Total Price", in the same SELECT clasue where it is defined.)
I removed some columns from the select as they are not relevant for the wanted action like 'adress details or other references'.
Now here is the result:

But where is the raw data that you're starting with?
It looks like you tried to format the code (but not the results) by typing this 1 character:
before the formatted section and this different character
after the formatted section. To post formatted text on this site, type these 6 characters
before the formatted section, and the exact same 6 characters again after the formatted section.

Problem while inserting the same value on a primary key column

in my application there is a block with a pat_id column "primary key" ,
if the user inserts the same value in this column , a message appears asking me if i want to save the changes or not ,
i do not know what changes is the message asking about , and sure i do not want this message to appear to the user

Problem in Inserting the new values into Ztable

I have a requirement that when ever user enters the value in Billing Qty input which is in VF01 tcode and the table is VBRP-FKIMG, and client want billing qty and previous month reading, the fields are not in VBRP. So I have created a custom table name as YSD-EXPORT_QTY with fields of CUSTOMER, MONTH, YEAR, BILL_QTY, PREV_READING, CUMULATIVE... When ever user enter the Billing Qty I want to update database table and initally there is no data in custom table. I tried below code but i am not getting and i am getting the error as
"The type of the database table and work area (or internal table) "WA_EXPORT" are not Unicode convertible. "
So, How can I resolve this issue.. I am trying this since from 3 days... if u have any sample code please give me...

APPEND WA_EXPORT TO IT_EXPORT.

If it overrides existting record, you should add new key fields to your database table, there can be only one record per set of key values.
I suppose keys look like MANDT, KUNNR, GJAHR, MONAT or MANDT VBELN POSNR or a combination of both set of keys (not sure to understand you requirement)
You have to first read from database if some data already exists,
- if yes, add the new quantities and UPDATE the record
- if no, INSERT a new record
Remember keys define a unique record, and cannot be updated once inserted.
If your program should never update records, add a "technical" key field, and fill it using a timestamp or a number range counter (FM NUMBER_GET_NEXT)

I have a requirement like, listing out the modified field values with their previous value and new value using integration events or any method.
For Ex: If i modify the customer name from "Jack" to "Amith" in the record.
Then i have a requirement to display the message like : CustomerName has changed from "Jack" to "Amith"
Please post your help notes on this.It's Urgent.

Trying to insert values into a table inserts the wrong values

Hi, I'm sure this is quite simple but I don't know why it is happened (Spent about 2 hours debugging my program only to find the error is actually in the SQL insert statement not working properly hehe)
I have a simple Payment table with the following columns:
int - ID (primary key)
int - Amount
int - Paid
varchar - Notes
I try to place a new record into the table as follows:
insert into payment values (1010,50,1,'Hello')
but the ID i choose is not added to the record, rather the database assigns a ID instead automatically (it seems to add 1 to the last ID)
On further inspection this happens for another of my tables too, however for another table, this does not happen and I can assign an ID as I would like.
When creating my tables I thought I set them all up the same, however I guess not
Does anyone know the problem?

Are you are using this INSERT statement in any form??? if so, please check your pre-insert trigger.
If not, then you may verify it by inserting it through iSQLPlus. If it doesn't insert your data, then check the database triggers associated with INSERT for your table.

How CallableStatement in JSP use setDate() method to insert the date value into DB?

Dear all,
I met a strange error message when i insert a date value into DB via JSP call PL/SQL procedures.
The error seems caused by the setDate(index, date) method with CallableStatement.
The message is: Can not find the setDate(int, java.util.Date) method in the CallableStatement interfaces.
Any ideas?

You dont have to store the value anywhere
You can do this from setMethod of EOImpl.java

CellEditingEnded provides the previous value in the edited cell, I need the new one - How?

I am implementing a minimal Calculation Chain restricted to the current row. When the user types some new
value in a cell (part of a column named "Length"), some sections of the row are re-calculated.

The problem is that the value found in gridModel.Length is the old one, while I need the one just typed by the user.

That is because the CellEditingEnded event is raised before the a cell edit is committed so the new value is not yet available:
