Inserting a Column on a report

How do I insert a column with fixed contents into a report? I currently have two columns on the report and I'm doing a Union so I need to insert a 3rd column with a fixed text based on the criteria. For example, the inserted column for the first section would say "AAAAAAA", the inserted column for the 2nd section would say "BBBBBBB", etc... How can this be done?

Insert any column into your report and position it where you want your static text column to appear. Click the fx button to edit the column's formula and replace the entire column formula with your desired text enclosed in single quotes.

  • Dynamic columns in ALV report

    halo fellow SAPiens,
    i need to show dynamic columns for a particular material........the scenario is as follows....
    1) there r 7 fixed columns describing the material...
    2)when the material returns back to the plant for some reason , i need to insert a column which shows the date and reason(char) of return.
    3)again after dispatching the material for some reason it comes back again a new column shld be displayed showin the date and reason(char).
    4)if the material doesnt come back...the report shows only 7 columns.
    any solution?

    report 12KTST1A . for that reason i copied that report in customising but
    i cant able to edit that because it is generating automatically.
    The path to get to this report is:
    Accounting
    Capital investment management
    Investment projects
    Information system
    Report selection
    Costs
    Budget-related
    Budget/Actual/Commitmt/Rem.Plan/Assigned
    Then (after entering Cntl Area & DB prof), we narrow data using "Dynamic selection" icon & check Company code. Then enter valid company & save.
    Then enter project range, then execute.
    OR
    T-CODE "CJE0".
    is there any procedure to insert a column .
    I have not used Report Writer/Report Painter previously

    I have solved it myself by adding few lines in stored procedure. Would like to share the solution, so that it will be helpful for others.
    Open the stored procedure which we are using for the default "List of Incidents" reports.
    Add the below under SELECT
    SupportGroup = ISNULL(TierQueuesDS.DisplayName, TierQueuesEnum.IncidentTierQueuesValue),
    TierQueuesEnum.IncidentTierQueuesId AS TierQueuesId,
    Classification = ISNULL(ClassificationDS.DisplayName, ClassificationEnum.IncidentClassificationValue),
    ClassificationEnum.IncidentClassificationId AS ClassificationId,
    Add the below under FROM
     LEFT OUTER JOIN
     dbo.IncidentTierQueuesvw AS TierQueuesEnum
     ON TierQueuesEnum.IncidentTierQueuesId = I.TierQueue_IncidentTierQueuesId 
     LEFT OUTER JOIN
     dbo.DisplayStringDimvw TierQueuesDS
     ON TierQueuesEnum.EnumTypeId=TierQueuesDS.BaseManagedEntityId
     AND TierQueuesDS.LanguageCode = @LanguageCode
     LEFT OUTER JOIN

    Then open the report from Report Builder and add new column in the design. Add Support Group and Classification as a column in the report.

    Hi Andy,
    I think your asking if this or something similar could be used to go to another page rather than as a popup? The answer is yes. since you have already done the decode in your query, you can just go to the Report Attributes tab (I'm using version 2.2.1.00.04) and click the edit button for the column. Then, you can simply go to the
    HTML Expression [Insert column value] text area and insert:

    This will give you everything that is in the column link section, but I find it easier to work with since it's all together (personal preference).
    I reread your post and realized that you wanted to pass the A as a value and not the summary value of the column. I simply removed the #'s. I think this should work. I also kept the summary value using the #A# as the link. I belive that you can copy and paste this into each column (replacing the A with the appropriate column header of course...).
    If I were doing this I might create a CASE statement in the query and evaluate for null before creating the link. Here is an example of using that approach:

    Hello,
    I want to implement a normal insert process for an interactive report. For which I have created an pl/sql anonymous block with the process. This process will be fired when I click the create button of the New record insert region.
    insert into table_name(YR_MO,STATUS,UPDATED_DT,ID) values
    (to_char(sysdate,'YYYYMM'),:P1_STATUS,sysdate,:P1_ID);
    YR_MO is my primary key column in tha table.
    For inserting purposes I have created a separate (New record insert) region, with the items P1_STATUS and P1_ID amd a create button.
    Within the interactive report, i have a button Create_New when I click this button the New record insert region should open up and in that region, i have the items P1_STATUS,P1_ID.
    My problem is when I click the Create_New button within the interactive report, the records are getting inserted. I dnon't understand what might be the problem, because the insert process should be fired when i click the create button within the New record insert region but it is firing when I click the create_new button.
    Can anyone help me out with this issue.

    Does the insert process fire on a specific request only? And do the two buttons have different request values (names)?

    You have to add your key figure first in infocube / and planning level . After this you can insert it in the planning layout in the data column screen. Check that you have inserted also CALQUARTER in the data columns in the first screen of the layout

    Does anyone know of a way to insert only a single column in a crosstab table? Every time I try to insert a column, I get a column added next to each existing column. The problem is, I can't delete a single column either, so I cant add and then delete the extras. I would like to add a single column for things like a sum for each row, but I don't want it next to each column.

    Did you find a solution.I guess it can only happen when u add a column beside the header and change the color Bg color same as the column value.I had the same problem but luckily I had to add just after the header.

    In the report what type of data you are trying to check in that column. can you please brief about report.
    And also please check the excel cell format (right click and check it is a numeric or character), which may help to resolve this issue.

    The Record Sort Expert appears when you choose the Record Sort Expert command from the Report menu.
    Use the Record Sort Expert to define how you want the records in your report to be sorted for printing. You can add and remove a sort field and define the sort direction (ascending or descending) for the data in your report.
    In my version Record Sort appears as a   A over a Z with Arrows pointing from A to Z, and Z to A.  It is next to group expert, which looks like a mountain with an arrow pointing up.  Both are on the "Expert" tool bar.

    I've searched around a bit about this. I can't find anything about anyone who had the same problem.
    I was reporting along and suddenly CR v8.5 wouldn't let me insert a field anymore. I can't insert a field on a new or old report from the field exporer. I drag the field to the area of the report that I want to drop it and it stays a black circle with a line through it. It won't allow me to insert any field in any report.
    I tested this on my coworkers computer and his is working fine. Same version, same report, same field.
    What would cause my install of CR to stop allowing insertion of fields?

    For anyone else that runs into this issue. I searched heavily and came up with nothing.
    I decided to uninstall and then reinstall the application and that fixed the problem.
    I still don't know the original cause . . .

        i have to insert horizontal lines in alv report.( RM07MLBB )
            actually my requirement is:
                               basis list = RM07MLBB.
    first secondary list = another report is called here ( RM07DOCS )
                      i want to insert horizontal lines in the first secondary list, when i execute individually RM07DOCS , i can get horizontal lines, but when i dounle click in the basic list --> in the first secondary list , i am not getting the horizontal lnes.
    functional modules used are REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY & REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
        here in this program,
                        is_layout = alv_layout.
    hence i tried to give     
                  alv_layout-no_hline = ' '. 
    but not effecting.
              can some one please tell me , how to insert lines in the alv report.

         so i cannot insert horizontal lines in the first secondary list according to my sorting condition, i.e., in a single block there should be :
           if same delivery challan number is repeating they should come in the same block,
    for the corresponding delivery challen number, if have po number, is repeating , they also should come in the same block.
                       in this way i have to seperate the blocks containing EXNUM , EBELN CONDITIONED.

  • Need to fix the width of a column in interactive report

    Hi,
    I have a column named 'Comment'. Its have a huge data due to which the lenght of that column in interactive report get increased. I need to fix the length to a desired value.
    I used following code in Region Footer:

    Its solved the problem by fixing the width of the column but the column is not showing the full data now. It is hiding most of its part to fit it in that column.

    Hi,
    I believe you will want to add a height specification to allow for multiple lines.  And you may want/need to specifiy how you want lines to wrap.
    Add (for example):
      height: 60px; 
      white-space: nowrap; 
      word-wrap: break-word;
    There are defaults and several options for white-space and word-wrap.  You may want to look them up and give them a try for comparison.
