Two Step Login Fails

We have a user account on our lab computers for required testing. After logging in to the test account, the test program (NWEA TestTaker) launches, and a user name and password is required to continue.
When using a UNIX command to simultaneously login from ARD, I can log in to the test account with no problem, but the log in command for the test program fails with the following message— Error -122 RegisterProcess Failed /bin/bash: line 10: 2423 Abort Trap
This always worked with ARD 2.2. Any ideas? Below is the script I'm using. Thank you very much.
osascript <<EOF
tell application "System Events"
keystroke "username"
keystroke tab
delay 0.5
keystroke "password"
delay 0.5
keystroke return
end tell
EOF

  • Two step login to a VAN

    Hi All,
    There is specific requirement wherein we are required to do a two step-login to a VAN and get the Inbound EDI files - The transport type is FTP.
    first login - we get into the system
    second login - we get into our inbox.
    Both the logins are different with different username / pw.
    Please do let me know if anyone has faced such a requirement and the possible ways to achieve this in B2B / BPEL .
    thanks

  • Mail app and google account with two step verification fail

    Hi,
    I try to add my gmail account to Mail app, but it says that login or password is incorrect. I'm using google 2 step verification, that means that I should generate an app-special password each time I use a new application with this google account. I've generated the password for gmail app and logged in successfully, but it doesn't work for Mail app (each application has it's own password).
    iOS 5.1.1 (9B206).
    Gmail app v. 1.2.7182
    Thank you in advance.

    I've read every discussion about that problem, though I found no solution there. So I started another one.
    I'm sorry. You misunderstood what I was saying - or perhaps I should say that I said it wrong. I meant that I was unfamiliar with this problem - that's all that I meant.
    The link for 4.0 is simply for iPads that are running iOS 4.0 or higher. That is what the link refers to. This is copied from the website
    Note: These setup instructions are for Apple devices running software version 4.0.
    View instructions for older software.
    It does not state it specifically, but it means 4.0 or higher. Google hasn't updated anything further for higher than iOS 5 that's all.
    But if you checked it out already or don't want to check it out because you think it doesn't apply - that's your prerogative.
    EDIT - your problem was solved as soon as I posted. Glad you got it all worked out!

  • Gmail 2-step verification: STMP server login fails

    After activating 2-step a few days ago I have been very happy. Then I discovered that my MacPro Mail.app can't connect to my Gmail SMTP server (I was using my hosted domain SMTP before).
    Symptoms:
    My MacBook Pro is a clone of the MacPro, Mail.app connects fine on the MacBook Pro, send/receive IMAP or POP3,  (using the same application specific token (AST) which I originally assigned to Mail.app on MacPro). That was a surprise - I expected the MBP to require a new AST distinct from the MacPro Mail.app token.
    To make sure all was kosher, I generated a fresh AST for the MacPro Mail.app, updated the settings.
    MacPro/Mail.app receives via IMAP, but fails connecting to the SMTP server (which I have updated with the new AST).
    Today's further troubleshooting:
    (1) I revoked the application specific passwords for Mail.app both Macs, deleted all the associated Keychain entries. Generated new application specific passwords for the MP ==> IMAP send works but the Macpro SMTP server login still fails.
    (2) I turned off 2-step verification, changed all Mail.app passwords back to simple pwd. Everything works but SMTP server login fails
    (3) In Mail.app I deleted and recreated the account for a *different* Gmail IMAP address. That worked fine, including the associated SMTP login.
    This is silly, but there seems to be a curse on one specific smtp.gmail.com login. I have left 2-step verification turned off for the moment until I resolve the SMTP login fault.
    If I deleted and recreated the problem IMAP account in Mail.app it would probably fix the problem. But we are in Australia with tight bandwidth caps, I can't afford to redownload 20,000+ emails. And I need them local because we often don't have internet access.

    For me, this problem occurs only with Google Apps accounts - these are the ones where you use your own domain e.g. yourdomain.com and not gmail.com.
    Wwo-step authentication is disabled on the Google Apps account.
    Right click on your mail account name (under Inbox) and click "Edit Account"
    Edit the SMTP server list and select the advanced tab.
    By default Apple mail only has your user name in the user name field (e.g. user1)
    Change this to [email protected] and reenter your password.
    I also set the SMTP port to 587
    Everything is working fine now

  • Unable to login to iTunes (from appleTV) after apple ID two step verification enabled

    I recently enabled two step verification for appleID. Now when I attempt to use that appleID with my appleTV, I am unable to login to iTunes.  Should I not have enabled two step verification ?  Do I need to revert back to user name / password only for my appleID, which I use in conjunction with my appleTV ?
    help
    brianb

    dis-regard this problem. I was able to regain normal operation, once I reset my appleTV, and re-configured it using my current appleID. It is rather odd though that I need to re-set my appleTV each time I change my appleID.

  • Service Pack 2 Update - Configuration Failed in Step 5:Products Configuration Wizard (Login Failed)

    THIS IS FOR THE TEST ENVIRONMENT, THERE IS ONLY ONE SP SERVER/ONE SQL SERVER
    The previous admin before me had already installed OWA Sp2/September 2014 CU on this box without Project Server Sp2 being installed along with it. I am now just updating Project Server to Service Pack 2. I downloaded the file from Microsoft, and installed
    the files on the box. I now am running the Products Configuration Wizard to complete the update.
    note: the config database version is 14.0.7132.5000 (because of the OWA Sp2
    and September cumulative update installed, it does not say Service Pack 2 anywhere)
    Please see photos to see the error I am getting. I cannot access the central administration anymore, it is giving me a HTTP Error 503. I need to fix this ASAP! I have tried using another account that should have had permissions but still no dice.

  • Intermittant (not constant) SQL database ShareWebDb login failed events 3760 and 2424

    My Sharepoint 3.0 services that were bundled with SBS 2008 appear to be working fine. Companyweb, etc, all work w/o issue, so I don't want to take violent action, but these errors seem to be accellerating so I would love to know if there is a known
    solution.
    I typically receive the following (these are in reverse time order, latest at the top, just as they appear in the event log):

    I get more 3760 errors than 2424's. However, the
    2424's do seem to usually correspond to a 3760 18456 17137 occurance and the
    3760 are always preceeded by 18456 17137. I was getting one or two sets a day, lately that has increased to 5 or 10.
    I've done a lot of
    web research on Sharepoint Errors 3760 and
    2424 and I see a number of people are experiencing the the same issue. Most of what I've come across for solutions do not apply, since errors are intermittent, not chronic and my public remote URL has already been added
    to BackConnectionHostNames as per:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2009/08/05/sharepoint-services-3-search-event-errors-after-an-sbs-2008-update-rollup.aspx
    I installed the SQL Server Management Studio Express so I could try to track down the permissions on this database. I see the SQL server instance, MYSERVER\Microsoft##ssee, and it shows as running, but when I try to connect to it I get the following
    error: "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote
    connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: -1)" I'm assuming that is because I don't have access permission for that internal database.
    I don't see any errors in the event log related to failed logins or any errors at all from the SQL server, but there are the time matching informational entries right before the error events and lots of other 17137's and 2803's from MSSQL$Microsoft##ssee

    Thank you Kevin, that does seem to match my symptoms and I have made the change suggested. Just incase that page becomes unreachable by others, here is the part of the page that applies to this:

    Cause:
    ==========
    Issue was caused by incorrect Auto Close option for ShareWebDb database
    Solution:
    ==========
    1. On the SBS 2008 server, click Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005, right click SQL Server Management Studio Express and choose run as administrator.
    NOTE: You must run it as administrator to perform steps below.
    2. In the Server Name box, type \\.\pipe\MSSQL$Microsoft##SSEE\sql\query, click connect.
    3. Expand Database node and right click the ShareWebDb then choose properties.
    4. Click Options in the left pane, in the right pane, please check whether the Auto Close option is set to True, if so, please change it to False.

  • Crystal reports "Database login failed" when using push method

    I have a web application (ASP.NET, .NET v3.5), that pushes data to a CR 2008 report. On two servers one of the three reports returns a "Database login failed" error. I am stumped since there is no login, it's push not pull; in addition the problem is hard to debug since it works fine from my developers workstation. I have "updated" the xsd in that report, reinstalled the app, etc., non of which helped. If anyone has a solution or even ideas I'd appreciate the help.

    What about following the troubleshooting steps as described in the blog;
    Create an XML file off of your dataset. Make sure this is done just before you set the dataset to the report:
                rpt.Load(rptPath)
    myDataset.WriteXml(xmlPath, XmlWriteMode.WriteSchema)
    rpt.SetDataSource(myDataset)
    Copy the above created XML to your development system
    Open the problem report in the Crystal Reports designer
    In the Desigger, go to the Database menu and select u201CSet Datasource Locationu201D
    In the u201CReplace with:u201D pane, expand the u201CCreate New Connectionu201D folder.
    Double click the u201CADO .NET (XML)u201D icon
    Browse to the location of the XML file you created in step (1)
    Click on the path to the XML. The <Update> button should enable
    Click on the <Update> button
    Typically, either of the following will happen:
    You will get a u201CMap Fieldsu201D dialog. This indicates that the XML written off of your dataset does not match what the report is expecting. This may be due to incorrect fields name, incorrect field type, etc. You will now need eliminate the difference.
    Incorrect data or no data. There is an issue with your dataset and you need to determine why the data is not present in your dataset. Looking at the XML may be a good place to start.

  • Locked out of Apple ID AND lost Recovery Key for two-step verification

    Hey guys,
    Firstly, as the title implies, this is a double-whammy of a problem, and obviously, it is very much my fault. The reason I'm bothering to post this, however, is to find out if anyone else has had this issue and where they are at with it.
    The story:
    I set up two-step verification on my Apple ID about a year ago as I thought it was a good idea. I wrote the Recovery Key down as it told you to, and put it in a folder full of other important documents. In a epic mental lapse, however, I now remember later throwing out that folder, forgetting about my Recovery Key. Ya, that is my fault, I'm and idiot. Anyways...
    Fast forward to a few days ago, and I all of a sudden received messages on all my devices saying that my Apple ID had been disabled for security reasons, and that I had to reset the account in order to regain access to it. Scary, but no problem, right? Well, after entering my Apple ID into iForgot.com, the first thing it asked me for was my Recovery Key. This is around the time I was banging my head against the wall in realization that I had thrown it away, but I was relieved to see the "Lost your Recovery Key?" option at the bottom of the screen. I was even more relieved to discover that I had what I needed to reset it: my current password and a trusted Apple device. The catch was that to reset it, I needed to log into my Apple ID to initiate it, which of course I couldn't do because it had been disabled, and the only way for me to disable it is, again, to enter in my Recovery Key. This effectively put me in and endless loop, without any apparent way of gaining accesses to my account. I did contact Apple about it, and I was ultimately told that the lock on my account was so tight, that not even Apple could gain access to it.
    I understand that this level of security is probably the whole reason for the two-step verification in the first place, and I again concede that it was extremely foolish of me for forgetting about and discarding my Recovery Key, but a few things still don't make sense...
    1. Why would they put a "Lost your Recovery Key?" link on the password recovery page when a password is needed to reset the Recovery Key itself?
    2. As far as I can remember, Apple, in their briefing of how two-step verification works, did not bring up this scenario, which is probably relatively common. They DO mention that they can't help when you don't have access to two of the three necessary things for recovery, but they never brought up the apparent exception of if the account is disabled, in which case having two of the three things needed is not enough. I don't understand how they couldn't have mentioned this scenario.
    3. Given the above thought, how could Apple not have some sort of special contingency for this type of situation? I profess my ignorance of how these types of systems are set up, but I would feel that there should be a special method for recovery in place if the account has been locked, and the owner is able to verify that they have the password and trusted devices.
    I didn't mean to make it sound like a rant. I ADORE Apple, but this system seems like it's less than perfect.
    Has anyone else ran into this issue? If so, is your situation similar to mine?
    Thanks for any response!

    Hey everyone.
    It's been awhile, but I wanted to share with anyone who is interested some general knowledge about this issue that I have learned while communicating with Apple support. Unsurprisingly, the issue is still unresolved, and I am under the impression that it will remain that way, but I'm still trying to get in touch with one of the senior representatives I spoke with a while ago who seemed to think that there might be a solution, so I suppose there is still a chance that things could turn out for the better.
    Here's the rundown:
    Anytime you are unable to sign in to or access your account because of "security reasons", your account is under what is called a "DS Lockout".
    A DS Lockout on an Apple ID can be triggered for a few reasons, such as when too many failed logins to the Apple ID (using an incorrect password) are attempted, or when a purchase is made that Apple believes to be fraudulent.
    Under normal circumstances, a DS Lockout only lasts for 8 hours, after which the lock is lifted and access to the account by inputting the correct password is re-enabled.
    This is where the catch for anybody who set up two-step verification is.
    According to one of Apple's security representatives, IF you have two-step verification enabled upon being inflicted with a DS Lockout, the 8-hour lockout period is extended indefinitely as an additional security measure (a feature, I suppose). Therefore, the only way to regain access to the account is by resetting the password, as waiting for the lockout to expire is no longer an option. And of course, resetting your password, as stated by Apple, is one of the situations in which you need your Recovery Key. EVEN IF YOU KNOW WHAT THE ACCOUNT'S CURRENT PASSWORD IS, the lockout prevents you from being able to input it as a means of authentication. You MUST reset your password in order to regain access, and you MUST input your recovery key in order to reset your password.
    So, that seems to be the gist of it. It does make sense, but here's my problem:
    Upon setting up two-step verification, Apple does warn you of many things, but they do not make any mention of this specific scenario. Indeed, it is very much my fault for loosing my verification key, but the thing is, I’m human, I make mistakes, and I know that I will continue to do so. One of the reasons I chose to take the risk of setting up two-step verification is because Apple explicitly stated that as long as I had access to two of the three required "keys" -- my Recovery Key, my password, and at least one of my trusted Apple devices -- I would always be able to gain access to my account. In other words, as long as I didn’t screw up so bad as to loose access to two of my keys, I’d be okay. Obviously, there is a huge exception to this case that, again, is not mentioned anywhere, hence all the confusion. Had I know that it was possible that it could come down to me needing a single, specific key to regain access to my account, I probably would have opted out of two-step verification, recognizing that as a busy college student who's constantly reorganizing and dealing with tons of forms, worksheets, and other various documents, it's not as easy to hold on to a slip of paper as it might be for others. I'm hoping that at some point, Apple adds a big, red warning to the setup process which reads something like:
    "In the event that your Apple ID is locked due to a detected security risk, your Recovery key will be necessary to regaining access to your account; knowing your password and/or having access to any of your trusted devices will no longer be enough."
    I really do appreciate how seriously Apple takes its security, but I think that there is still room for improvement. This should start with more clearly and fully stating the conditions of its security measures, as well as having its customer support be more educated on these conditions (they themselves stated that they had never been trained on issues revolving around two-step verification). Protecting someone's private information is important, but so too is making every possible effort to ensure that customers can't easily loose access to all the content and services that they have spent much time and money building up and using.
    As stated above, I'm still trying to get a hold of the Apple representative who initially assisted me, so if I have any additional updates, I'll be sure to reply to this thread. I hope that anyone who is going through the same issue, or is simply curious, finds this information to be useful.

  • Linked Server : The old "Login failed for users "NT Authority\Anonymous Logon" issue

    Two SQL Servers: SQL Server 2008 sp3 and SQL Server 2014We are transitioning from 2008 to 2014.  We have need of some linked servers whilst this is ongoing.
    We've used them before, and indeed I set them up quite easily or so I thought.
    On the 2014 server, I can test the connection and everything ok.  If I logon to the linked server instance (ie the 2008 server) on the 2014 server, and connect to 2014 server, and test, I get the Error: 18456 Login failed error message.
    If I create a linked server on any instances of the 2008 server pointing to the 2014 server, no problems whatsoever going in that direction.
    Note that I'm selecting "Be made using the login's current security context"
    The 2008 sql server services is using a domain account as it's logon, whereas the 2014 server is using Managed Service Accounts.
    I've checked the SPN's and they all seem to be set ok.
    I then thought that perhaps there was an inconsistency with the Managed Service Account not being recognised (although does work when actually on the 2014 server).  I then changed (using Sql Server config manager) the account being used for the MSSQLSvc
    from the managed service account to the same account used by the 2008 sql server.  This seems to have produced a certain degree of success.  I can now test the connection from my local ssms and the 2008 server and these work ok for the most part.
    I presumed I had a workaround and did further testing, however it doesn't always seem to run true.  This could of course be due to me not taking the same steps to reproduce the original workaround.
    This is effectively a transient condition as eventually we won't need the linked servers, however, they are needed for at least the next 2-3 months.
    Could anyone help explain the nature of this problem and where I'm going wrong?
    Regards
    Ian

    Hello,
    In addition to what Ashwin has asked (though the anonymous error message kind of gives it away):
    It does sound (I know you have you checked, but SPNs can be tricky devils) like an SPN issue or delegation issue
    The first thing I would point you to is the Kerberos Checking Tool for SQL Server. It's pretty new but in my testing it's been very accurate. Download, run it, and check the output:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39046
    Secondly, I would point you to this entry (yes, made by me):
    http://www.seangallardy.com/2014/05/using-kerberos-with-sql-server-part-1-double-hop/
    The reason why it works when you login from the 2008 server or the 2014 server and go to either or is because you're not double-hopping. You're local to the server, there is no delegation involved.

  • Servername changed, but Login failed

    CR2008 full version, VS 2005 Standard (did not come with CR).  Everything works great on dev box, but cannot login to sql server 2000 when I deploy to client site.  I have updated both VS and CR to their latest service packs.  Deployed using the redist instead of merge modules.  Installation went fine.  Application can Read and Update sql data, but when I open the report, it waits a while, then brings up a logon screen.  I added a VerifyDatabase() which replaced the logon screen with this error message:
    CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.LogOnException: Log on failed...
    I'm not changing anything other than the ServerName.  DatabaseName is the same and it's integrated security, so no UserID/Password.  I can't test it on the server because the server is SBS 2000, which CR2008 runtime apparently will not install on.
    I went through Mike's Thread (*** Canu2019t Change ServerName or DatabaseName At Runtime In Crystal Report!!!) which I thought would do it, but it didn't.
    I'll post my code below.  Note the MessageBox output at the end shows me the correct servername, databasename, and true (integrated security).
    ReportDocument crptdocGradeSheet = new ReportDocument();
    crptdocGradeSheet.Load(Application.StartupPath + "\\Reports\\GradeSheet.rpt");
    TableLogOnInfo crTableLogOnInfo = new TableLogOnInfo();
    foreach (Table crTable in crptdocGradeSheet.Database.Tables)
                    crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo;
                    crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.ServerName = Program.conn.DataSource.ToUpper();
                    crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.IntegratedSecurity = true;
                    crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo);
    crptdocGradeSheet.VerifyDatabase();
    crptdocGradeSheet.SetParameterValue("@ClassKEY", _ClassKEY);
    crptdocGradeSheet.SetParameterValue("ClassName", _ClassName);
    crptdocGradeSheet.SetParameterValue("InstructorName", _InstructorName);
    this.crvGradeSheet.ReportSource = crptdocGradeSheet;
    this.crvGradeSheet.Refresh();
                MessageBox.Show(crptdocGradeSheet.Database.Tables[0].LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.ServerName.ToString() + "\r\n" + crptdocGradeSheet.Database.Tables[0].LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.DatabaseName.ToString() + "\r\n" + crptdocGradeSheet.Database.Tables[0].LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.IntegratedSecurity.ToString());
                MessageBox.Show(crvGradeSheet.LogOnInfo[0].ConnectionInfo.ServerName.ToString() + "\r\n" + crvGradeSheet.LogOnInfo[0].ConnectionInfo.DatabaseName.ToString() + "\r\n" + crvGradeSheet.LogOnInfo[0].ConnectionInfo.IntegratedSecurity.ToString());

    How do you implement Single Sign On (SSO) using Crystal Reports XI in a Visual Studio .NET web application?
    Resolution
    ====================
    NOTE:
    This article applies to Crystal Reports XI, Crystal Reports XI Release 2, and Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 2005. The solution will not work in Crystal Reports 10 or lower.
    ====================
    There are two steps to implementing Single Sign On (SSO) using Crystal Reports XI in a Visual Studio .NET web application. The first step has several sub-steps that are outlined in the referenced article.
    The required system configuration is explained in a Microsoft white paper. Search for "Troubleshooting_Kerberos_Delegation" at www.microsoft.com.
    Within your Visual Studio .NET code, you will need to add code between the section in which report objects are set and the section in which the log on code is set ('if .IntergatedSecurity = False'). The code to add is:
    Report.DataSourceConnections(0).IntegratedSecurity = True

    For more information about using integrated and SQL authentication in applications that use the Crystal Reports .NET SDK, please refer to the technical paper Using Integrated and SQL Authentication in .NET Applications.

  • WL.login fails (Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED)

    Live connect log-in stopped to work. We have two games online, Permia - Duels and Pet Shows. All platforms, Windows Phone, Windows 8 and web browser are affected.
    It is easy to test with our web version of the game.
    http://web.permiaduels.com
    Step 1: Choose Live id login
    Step 2: Give your live credentials
    Step 3: You get error note, that live id login failed.
    Step 4: Check from console logs and you can see error.
    I debugged our Windows Phone version of the game, and same problem. Our Phone and Windows Phone versions cannot handle the WL.login exception and crashes.
    Any knowledge why this is happening? The games has been online a while already without similar problems before.

    This is same problem that is reported in other post https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsapps/en-US/32aa311e-a471-4e83-98ed-512e3f1ef98d/json-parse-error?forum=messengerconnect&prof=required

  • Unable to make tWo concurrent logins to the firewire Hard Disk from RHEL 3.

    Hello
    I tried setting up a firewire(shared storage) ORACLE 10 G RAC CLUSTER using OCFS/ASM using your install guidelines
    but this failed.Below is the scenario.
    Hardware : compaq intel PC's with 1 GB RAM
    Members in the cluster : Two
    Operating system : RHEL AS 3 / FEDORA CORE -3 (both being tried one after the other)
    Oracle 10G RAC version : 10.1.0.3.0
    HDD : Maxtor one touch II 250 GB with combo interface Firewire/USB 2.0
    N/W Adapters : Two public interconnect,Two private interconnect thru 10/100 internet Hubs/switches
    Firewire card details: FireWire (IEEE 1394): Agere Systems (former Lucent Microelectronics) FW323 (rev 05)
    Failure Description
    I successfully loaded the drivers for the Maxtor one touch II in the two Linux (RHEL 3) boxes. But after a restart, at any point of time,
    the disk is detected only by one node. It is detected in the other node only if the first node is powered OFF. On investigating we found the
    following error message by running "dmesg | grep sbp2" command as root
    ieee1394: sbp2: Query logins to SBP-2 device successful
    ieee1394: sbp2: Maximum concurrent logins supported: 2
    ieee1394: sbp2: Number of active logins: 1
    ieee1394: sbp2: Error logging into SBP-2 device - login failed
    Please do suggest where i was wrong and how to proceed next.
    Thanks & Regards
    Raghavan

    Hello All,
    I work as the system admin for Raghavan. Thanks to all those who took time to reply to our queries. Sorry for the lengthy mail. Let me go through the whole sequence of what we did initially.
    1. Installed RHEL 3 with Agere PCI Firewire cards.
    2. Installed Firewire Kernel kernel-2.4.21-27.0.2.ELorafw1 on top of it.
    3. Modules were loaded properly and the Firewire hard disk was accessible from both the nodes.
    4. Everything went fine during OCFS and ASM installation.
    5. We were installing the CRS and that too went fine till 99% and the final step of running the root.sh in one of the nodes gave an error message as follows
    "Failure at final check of Oracle CRS Stack
    0"
    6. So we thought of reinstalling CRS and deleted the Voting disk file directly from the shared disk. We deleted the file manually from one of the nodes using the "rm -rf" command and that too before uninstalling OCFS.
    Now both the disks went out of sync. The voting disk and CRS file was still visible from the other node. So we did a reboot of both the nodes one by one. After this MYSTERIOUS reboot at any point of time only one node was able to detect the hard disk.
    Finally after nearly two months of head scratching (really lost lot of my hair in this :)) we were able to get concurrent logins from both the nodes now! Thanks to the reply by Member no 279089. I bought and installed a TI(TSB43AB23)card on one node and a VIA chipset card on the other. And finally the magic worked. I am able to partition the disk and the partitions are visible from both the nodes.
    But now we have a new problem. When we invoke the OCFSTOOL from one node (VIA card node), the previous OCFS partion (the one which was done before the MYSTERIOUS reboot) is still shown. I removed the /etc/ocfs.conf file and still it is being shown in the ocfstool. I tried to ignore this and continued creating the OCFS partition from the other node (TI card node) using the mkfs.ocfs command. That too ran fine without any error messages and was able to mount it under /u02/oradata/orcl. When I try to mount the partition from VIA card node it is giving me the following error
    # mount -t ocfs /dev/sdb1 /u02/oradata/orcl
    mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1, or too many mounted file systems
    I get the following in /var/log/messages
    Jun 29 21:16:40 testrac1 kernel: SCSI disk error : host 2 channel 0 id 0 lun 0 return code = 8000000
    Jun 29 21:16:40 testrac1 kernel: Current sd08:11: sense key None
    Jun 29 21:16:40 testrac1 kernel: I/O error: dev 08:11, sector 69
    I tried googling with the above error message and they seem to point hands towards VIA chipsets. But I am not sure. Please guide us on what needs to be done to resolve this issue if you have faced it before.
    Thanks in Advance
    Jei
