Inserting a sound file in j2me

I have been developing my thesis: "marketing information systems on cellphones using multimedia messaging service".
I am new with java and for my thesis I have been using J2ME. I have successfully created an advertisement on an emulator using J2ME Wireless Toolkit Version 1.0.4_01. It would be very much appreciated if you could give me tips on how to incorporate an audio file on my advertisements.
Thank you very much! =)

Loading media files by dragging them into iWeb requires that the visitor has the QuickTime plugin. A lot of PC users don't have this and the flash plugin is more universal. However, flash is not supported in iOS devices like the iPhone.
Media players can be arranged to use flash and fallback to HTML5 or vice versa. Since HTML5 is not standardized across all browsers it makes sense to use the former method at this time. You can see how the various browsers display audio here...
http://www.iwebformusicians.com/Website-Music-Players/HTML5-Audio-Player.html
... and , of course, IE doesn't support it yet.
Here's a couple of examples of movie players that do this...

  • Inserting and/or repeating part of sound file?

As a potential new Audition user, I am still finding some things very puzzling.
For instance, how can I simply select part of an audio file, then insert it several times on a certain point in time in the same file?
With Bias Peak it was possible to simply repeat a selection of a sound file several times, do I have to use multitrack for this in Audition? Can't find a way to do it there either, though.
Most importantly I just want to copy part of a sample, and repeat it/insert it once or several times.
Another thing: after selecting part of a sound file, I can't simply choose the *end* point of the selection, and then paste the copied selection immediately after the selection. This is because a "adjust selection" tool appears as soon as I move the pointer close to the selection. What can I do?
These things seem so basic, so I must be missing something. Thanks for any help.

In waveform view it is basic - just cut and paste the bit you want to copy, just the same as with word processing. Even uses the same commands, so if you highlight a section and go Ctrl-C you've copied it,  and then if you hit Ctrl-V you will paste it. And if you move the cursor to the end of the section and go Ctrl-V again, you'll paste it again - and you can do this as many times as you want. How do you move the cursor immediately to the end of a selection? Hit Ctrl-right arrow and it's there. How do you move to the end of the selection and deselect? Ctrl-Shift-A.
All these commands and shortcuts are in the menus.

  • Insert sound file into Oracel DB via Forms 6i

    Dear All
Pls let me know how to insert sound files in to Oracle DB via Forms 6i.
    Regards
    Lakmal Marasinge

by the way - just for info : Sound-Items in Forms 6i can't be migrated to 10g. They are now obsolet.
So, the best way is to develop in 6i a solution based on java. Then you use it and communicate with it per java bean.

  • Inserting flash .swf file into template

I want to insert a flash file into the right sidebar to appear on all pages of the website.  I know I need to do this via the template.  I think I need to click in the insertion point, then copy the code (make sure the files are in the correct location).   I've done this before with galleries ect..  but not in DW and not from a template.  What's a little confusing is there are 3 templates.  The first is in it's own folder (design template), the other two (theme 01 design & theme 01 design from template) are in the root folder, but the theme 01 design one doesn't seem to be changeale.  Which template should I be working with?

    Thanks from a newbie!  Amy

Are each of these 'templates' actually DW templates (i.e., are they named with a *.dwt extension)?  If so, then they must all be located within the Templates folder at the root level of the site - it doesn't sound like that is the case.  Also, why do you need three templates?  Finally, which version of DW are you using?  It's likely that you will have to make any links to your Flash element with ROOT relative links to be successful.

    Hi,
According to my analysis, for Digital Signatures: Adobe has changed the behavior around digital signatures and SharePoint-hosted PDF files. Now, when digitally signing a SharePoint-hosted PDF file, it will be saved directly to SharePoint if that PDF file
is already checked out. If not, the user will be prompted to check it out. When digitally signing a SharePoint-hosted PDF file in Acrobat X, Version 10.0, the user would be prompted to save that file locally and would then need to upload it separately to SharePoint
    as a new version.
I suggest that you use Acrobat X, then check the result. For more information about Acrobat X, please refer to
    http://blogs.adobe.com/pdfitmatters/2011/06/whats-new-in-acrobat-x-version-10-1.html
In addition, you can also consider the following third-party tool:

  • Locking Sound Files to Video Clips

    Hello,
This is the problem that I am ecountering. If I'm working on a project and I delete the recorded sound from the video clips and then insert something from itunes but later change the video clips slightly (say by deleting a few seconds here or there) then all my sound files are not in the correct positions any longer.
Is there any way to lock sound files to the video clips so that if I delete something in a video clip later on that the sound file will move with the earlier video clips?
I hope I'm making myself clear. Sorry if I am not.
    Thanks.

Working with locked audio clips can be frustrating. I've noticed for several years that I've used iMovie. It seems if you change the length of the video clip BEFORE a section where you have locked audio clips to the video those "locked" positions do not stay. You will see the yellow pins out of line.
I am finding this helpful in my situation if I need to edit video before a section of locked clips.
    - In timeline view drag the first video clip to the right, (in the section of locked clips) thus creating a black space.
    - Do your editing that you need to before this black space
    - Now when you go back to the section with the locked audio clips. If you have changed the length of the video before this section you will find the yellow pins out of line.
    - However start dragging that first video clip a bit to the left (shortening the black space) and you should see the yellow pins pop back in alignment.
    - If needed select all the video clips in your section (using shift-click on the first clip and shift click on the last clip) and then drag all back into position (removing the black space)
This may be a work around for those trying to edit and keep those locked clips truly in place. Maybe someone has further insight on this.

  • Clcking on  a sound file?

How do create a user-activated link to a sound file that will
simply play the sound without either (a) launching a free-floating

    be inserted
in FLV's but not sure if the same is valid for audio files

  • Extracting portions of the timeline from iMovie to create a 'Sound File'

    Hello
I recently used my Cannon GL2 as a field recorder to record 16 bit audio sound effects.
I'd like to extract certain portions of the timeline to create various 'Sound Files' which will be used later (as sound effects), in either iMovie, or FCE HD.
In iMovie HD, the only method I'm familiar with to extract a portion of the timeline to a 'Sound File', is to FIRST export that portion to a Quicktime File. Then I use 'Sound Studio 2.2.4' to import the Quicktime File. In Sound Studio, I can then create either an AIFF File, or Wav File.
From there, I open iTunes, and import the Wav File. Now I convert that Wav File to an MP3 (if I need to compress the size of the file).
I know I can import Raw DV Video Files (Captures), into Garage Band, but then I can't export that edited project into a Sound File.
But I do know I can use Garage Band to edit (EQ), a portion of the timeline, then Export that portion (as I explained above). But I'm still going through some extra steps .....
With all I'm mentioned, perhaps I need to get another software program in order to eliminate a step on my way to exporting a portion of a Video timeline from either iMovie, or FCE, and get straight to creating a sound file suitable for later import back into FCE, or iMovie?
    Thanx for your comments
    Mike

    Hey Piero
    Comestah?
I'm an Italiano too My Granparents are from Bari
Well yes thank you - that certainly answered part of my question
Now I wonder if I can extract just a 'PORTION' of the timeline? I tried to insert division points without actually cutting out all the unwanted stuff, and highlighted just that portion, but the Audio Extract process reverts back to extracting the ENITIRE timeline. So I guess I'd have to actually cut and delete all the unwanted parts, then 'save as' to that NEW iMovie project reflecting just that edit in order to extract JUST that audio piece?
I wonder if the process is more precise in FCE?
    Gracias
    Mike

  • Is there a away to compress a sound file?

Is there a way to compress a sound file?  for example, say you have a file 1 min. in duration made up of some simple frequencies and you want it to "fire" in a fraction of a second.  Can that file be compressed to do so and can you then insert it at various points in another sound file?

Yes, that happens when you send it iDVD and delete your iMovie project after burning the DVD.
DV in iMovie is 13GB per hour.

  • Can I use my own sound files as contact ringtones?

Can I use my own sound files as contact ringtones?

yes - you can use GarageBand for this.
    Open GarageBand
    Create a new project
Insert the song file from iTunes. (Go into the Finder, select ~/User/Music/iTunes/iTunes Library and find the song you want.)
    Drag that song into Garageband.
in Garageband - click the Share menu, and Send Ringtone to iTunes.
You will then have to select which 40 second portion of the song you want. It will create it, and send it to iTunes automatically.
    In iTunes
Select Preferences. Click on the General tab, and make sure that Ringtones has a checkmark beside it so that you see it in the list on iTunes.
When you hook up your iPhone, you will be able to select the ringtone(s) you want to sync.

How can I transfer a sound file from my "Voice Memos" app on my iPhone to my iPad?

In iTunes with your iPhone connected, click on the iPhone device, select the Apps tab, scroll down to the File Sharing section and pick an app that plays Quicktimes ("Files Connect" works in this example, but I'm open to suggestions of better apps for playing transferred Quicktimes) and drag your Quicktime from Finder to the Documents pane for the File Sharing app.   Once the file transfer is complete, go to the app on your iPhone to play the Quicktime.
