Inserting date to MS SQL

I am trying to convert a string to to a timestamp so that I am able to put it as the argument of setTimeStamp method of the prepared statement. Does anyone know how to do that?

First thing you will need to do is to use the Calendar class to convert your string to a valid date.
Once you have a java.util.Date, you will need to convert it to a java.sql.Date. Here's a little method you can use:
public java.sql.Timestamp getSQLDate(java.util.Date date) {
    if (date != null) {
      long time = date.getTime();
      return new java.sql.Timestamp(time);
    return null;
  }Now you can use the setTimeStamp method of the prepared statement to set the date.
