  • CAP file error

    Hello !!
I'm using the command verifycap verify the integrity of a CAP file and export files. the problem is that the command returns the following error:
    Error: In class descriptor Descriptor[1]:
    Field number 1:
Inconsistency on class reference in instance field
I've seen the docs related to the CAP file format (Java Card 2.1.1 Virtual Machine Specification), but I havent found the solution for this problem.
    I would appreciate some help!
    Thanks, Sidney

There was a bug in cJDK 2.1.1 converter, in descriptor
component. It was fixed in 2.1.2. I think that you are
trying to test 'old' cap file.
Can this error be related to CAP file errormentioned before?
No, it can't. The descriptor component is not
installed on card at all. The installer found that you
are trying to install the package with duplicate AID,
i.e. card already contains package with this AID.Hello Alb!!
Thank you for helping me, but I guess the problem's not what you mentioned, cause I'm using the 2.1.2 version. About the duplicate package AID error, the problem can't be an already existing package, cause I haven't downloaded the CAP file to a card yet, I'm just testing it with the jcwde and apdutool. And there's more: even so, I've changed the package AID, and the error succeeded.
So once more, do you have any suggestion?

  • 'Windows cannot install required files' error while installing Vista SP1

I'm installing Vista Client SP1 on my Macbook pro and getting the following error:
Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation.
Almost exactly as described in this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930984/ except my error code is 0x80070017. I'm double-checked CRC on my dvd to ensure it's not corrupt. Also I've previously successfully installed Vista SP1 from the SAME DVD on a different Mac Leopard (desktop)
Any ideas? This is a new Macbook pro, just got it yesterday. Could be DVD drive issue?
    Thanks!

Did you get far enough to delete the FAT partition BootCamp created, so you could create a new NTFS one?

  • Windows cannot install required files error while installing on brand new SSD

    Hello,
Recently I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 15R with SSD and wanted to install Windows 8.1 pro 64-bit on it. I downloaded the windows from Dreamspark with Secure download manager. I made a bootable USB stick twice with
Windows USB/DVD Download tool, booted the windows setup, formatted the ssd and tried to install when i got this error. As I recall the error code was something like this "error 0x80070570". Any advice how to overcome
    this problem?

I would rebuild your USB install drive, you might have ended up with some corrupted files. Was this computer shipped with Win 8? if not then you'll need to set up your USB to boot UEFI, IE is has to be formatted fat 32, then on boot up hit which ever key
on your computer that brings up a boot menu select you UEFI USB drive

  • Pls help with .CAP file.

    Hi.
I read a lot about how to write java applet for smart card and after read a lot about how to convert .class file into a .CAP file. But I don't know where to find informatin about what to do further. Pls can you tell or give link to a text which explains how to install .CAP file on a smart card and which tool to use in order to save .CAP file on a smart card.
    Thx

It depends what installer/deletion manager your card supports. Most likely it is GlobalPlatform. Check out GlobalPlatform 2.1.1 card specification.

  • Upload cap file by net on client card, and protect cap file. Encode cap?

How upload cap file by internet on client card, and protect cap file. Encode cap file?
cap file > Server (keys) --> internet --> Client Program --> JCOP10 card
Can I use secure channel protocol ? How ?

    Thanks for response.
Problem for me is communication between client program(computer) -> reader -> card.
The cap file is in Bin format.
Transmission can by easy scanned. How to protect this step of upload process?.
    Internet is no problem.
My English is pure, and I have problem to understand specification.
Can I upload, install cap file encoded by Secure Channel Protocol '02' ?
If yes, then some example, log file can help me understand how to do this and how build APDU commend. I Use my program (Delphi) to communicate with reader and card.

    Thank you in advance.

I'm not understanding if your cap file is in "b\bin\FVSCardPkg\javacard\", then why are you loading "D:/MyCardPkg.cap"?
The issue isn't with your off card application, but the cap file version. Look at the cap file components in JCVM specification. I believe it's the Header component. The major, minor should match your card but not greater. In other words, your can't load a 2.2 on a 2.1 card, but a 2.1 can load on a 2.2

It seems there is a variable of type "long" in your applet. The "long" type is not supported by Java Card, so you should remove all variables with type "long".
Otherwise, without the source code, it is difficult to help you find out what's wrong.
