Install configuration for Crystal Reports Viewer 2011

Hi,
Is there any way to configure the defaults for Crystal Reports Viewer 2011 as part of the installation routine?
Specifically we would like to:
1. Switch off the attempt (on launch) to make an internet connection for community resources
2. Hide the side bar unless the user actually goes into the view menu to turn it on.
There's various reasons for this, but mostly it's that to get an internet connection the application has to go through the proxy server - we would rather that sort of activity was instigated by the end user on demand, not an application automatically, not least in this case because the license agreement window seems to be set to force itself to the 'front', which covers the proxy server prompt, so we can't write a script to provide automatic authentication without user intervention. It would be far better if there was a way to simply switch off this feature - and at the same time set the default 'view' settings to hide the side bar in the first place.

Hi,
Do you mean the Standalone Crystal Reports Viewer 2008: http://www.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/reporting/viewer/index.epx
If you do then you can perform a slient install by following the instructions from the release notes:
http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/crv2008/en/xi3-1_crviewer_release_en.pdf
Those notes are provided from this webpage:

  • Unable to install MHF1 for Crystal Report XI R2

    CA Forum: Migration to XI R2
    Hi,
        at my office, we have Crystal Report XI and I need Crystal Report XI R2, so I download the package including sp2 and installed it. Then
    I download and tried to install MHF and got the error : "No supported XIR2 products detected". I followed the instructions given by the article c2010232 without any success.
    I sure I got the right MHF for the right software.
    I'm the admin of my pc.
    My pc is freshly formated, so there isn't any other version of CR on my pc.
    I can't find any services or process to shutdown.
    CR is installed only on my post, not on a server.
    I believe my registry is all right.
    I did install of Business Objects X1R2 sp1.
    Please Help.

    I have a license for Crystal XI on my desktop and that is all.
    We have licensing for BOE Repository to store and execute Crystal Reports. When I run a published Crystal Report the view panel in InfoView displays Crystal Report 2008 logo.
    Crystal Reports with UFL work on my machine because I can follow the documentation for Crystal Java UFL's (which is the same as the note you referenced), but that documentation is useless for BOE InfoView because Crystal Reports on the BOE InfoView server is entirely different.

  • Logon Error for Crystal Report Viewed by User When Not Included In App

    I have a Visual Basic 2008 SP1 application and I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 SP0 (with FP1 + 2).  I have about 50 reports using integrated security that are all "embeded resources" in the application.  When I want to print one of these reports I use code like this:
    PrintReports(New MyEmbededReport)
    And in my PrintReports routine it just creates a new instance of a form that has the report viewer control on it and passes the report over to it.  This works GREAT and I can embed all my reports right into the app and call them when I need them.
    Recently however I've had the need to add some custom reports that may change more often then the app changes so I need a way for users to access their reports without a new version of the app being pushed out.  So I made a routine that lets me store the actual Report.rpt file into SQL and when a user goes to run it the report is pulled out of the database and saved into their temporary files and then passes it back to my PrintReports routine as a ReportDocument.  This also works fine but only on my machine.  On the client machines it asks for the login information and no combination will work.  I've tried multiple ways of getting around it and have spent hours trying examples found on the internet including assigning the login information before preview, running through and assigning the login information to each table, I've gone through the "Using Integrated and SQL Autentication in .Net Applications" guide, turning on and off integrated security.  Nothing seems to work.
    What else is there to try?  As a very last resort I will have to store the reports into the app like the other ones but I'm really trying not to do this.
    -Allan

    Just trying to get this working.  My PrintReport routine used to just have the single line to assign the passed report to the report viewer.report source property.  I've changed it to this:
                Dim crtableLogoninfos As New TableLogOnInfos()
                Dim crtableLogoninfo As New TableLogOnInfo()
                Dim crConnectionInfo As New ConnectionInfo()
                Dim CrDatabase As Database
                Dim CrTables As Tables
                Dim CrTable As Table
                'Set the ConnectionInfo properties for logging on tothe Database
                With crConnectionInfo
                    .ServerName = My.Settings.SQLServerName
                    .DatabaseName = My.Settings.MainDatabaseName
                    .IntegratedSecurity = True
                End With
                'This code works for both user tables and stored procedures.
                'Set the CrTables to the Tables collection of the report
                CrDatabase = myReportFileName.Database
                CrTables = CrDatabase.Tables
                'Loop through each table in the report and apply the LogonInfo information
                For Each CrTable In CrTables
                    crtableLogoninfo = CrTable.LogOnInfo
                    crtableLogoninfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
                    CrTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crtableLogoninfo)
                Next
                'Set the viewer to the report object to be previewed.
                PrintPreview.CrystalReportViewer.ReportSource = myReportFileName
    And I have the exact same issue....my internal reports stored within the app still work fine for everyone but the custom reports made in CR2008 and added as files still do not.
    So out of fustration I added one of the "external" reports into VB 2008 and opened it in there, did a verify database, saved it, and then added it to my SQL server but again same issue....it's like when its off of my computer it "loses" the connection information even though it still shows its there.  Not sure why the reports that are embedded into the app don't have this issue.
    So that gave me another idea.  I took one of the reports that was originally created in VB2008 and took that and put it into the SQL then ran that like the others and IT WORKS.  It creates the temp file on the client PC and runs it from there with no login issues.  Now I'm more confused....any ideas?  I guess I'm going to start recreating the reports I created in CR 2008 and remake them in VS 2008 since those seem to work fine but why should I have to....what would be the difference?

  • How do I install UFL for Crystal Report XI for use on BOE InfoView XI 3.1?

    I have a Crystal XI Report that uses a UFL that was created by someone else. The library works just fine on my machine but I need to put this report out in BOE InfoView XI 3.1 for users. The library is Java Class.

  • CrystalDecisions.Web.resources.dll for Crystal Report 2011

    Hi,
    I recently install Crystal Report 2011and I try to use localization for Crystal Report Viewer in a .NET web application.
    I read several tutorials which say to use CrystalDecisions.Web.resources.dll. I don't find this dll for Crystal Report 2011.
    Could you help me ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Fred.

    Hi Fred,
    I believe you are looking for Crystal Reports Viewer which was a separate download correct? Currently there is no download for CRV 2011. It's in the works and the link should be made available in a few weeks, no exact time yet.
    Thank you

  • After install Crystal Report Server 2011, can not access control tools

    Afte install Crystal Report Server 2011, can not access control tools from web or from application.
    My server OS is Windows 2008 R2 SP1. I follow the default setting. How to fix it?
    Error message is above.

    Is Tomcat started?  On your Start menu you should have an option to get to "Tomcat  Configuration" or, under the CRS menu you can run the "Central Configuration Manager" to start Tomcat.
    What URL are you using to connect to the web app?  By default Tomcat runs on port 8080 so your URL should look something like this:  "http://<servername>:8080/BOE/CMC" or "http://<servername>:8080/BOE/BI".
    If Tomcat is running and you're trying to access it from another computer, check to see if the Windows Firewall is turned on for the server - if it is, turn it off for "Domain" access.
    If Tomcat won't start, go to the folder where Tomcat is installed and then look in the "logs" folder.  There should be a file called "stderr.log" which you can open in Notepad to see what types of errors might be occurring (you can ignore any errors having to do with "persisted sessions".)  If there are other errors, post in the BI Platform space to get assistance.

  • Crystal Report Viewer 2008, postback causes a weird QueryString for dates

    HI,
    I'm having a weird problem that was masked with the error "".
    What is happening to me is that i have an ASPX page where the QueryString passed in is used as parameters to the report (straightforward).  When the page first loads, this is all fine the QuerySTring is properly parsed and the report is properly displayed.  Now, the problem comes when i click on the PRINT Button it performs a postback, and during that postback the querystring is read so that it can rebuild the report on the postback.  (In previous versions of crystal, this has always worked).  The issue here is that the version 12 of the report viewer here now appears to also append some information to the query string that was not previously there (like this:  ServletTask=Print&cmd=get_pg&page=1)  So the problem here for me is this is what my original QueryString looks like:
    tokenid=b2817081-6b52-43c7-8e2c-d6209af2ed98&Type=Appointment&Val=12%3b1%3b1%3b06%2f10%2f2000
    THat query string is generated by the following code (pre-encoded)
    "PrintPage.aspx?tokenid=" & Guid.NewGuid.ToString & "&Type=Appointment&Val=" & "12" & ";" & "1" & ";" & "1" & ";" & "1/1/2000"  (NOTE the date here, i'll get to that in a second)
    Then, what the problem is on the postback the Query String looks like this:
    tokenid=2a4f42de-bd90-48b5-ac82-bd34b503afd3&Type=Appointment&Type=Appointment&Val=12%3b1%3b1%3b1%2f1%2fPrintPage.aspx%3ftokenid%3d2a4f42de-bd90-48b5-ac82-bd34b503afd3&Val=12%3b1%3b1%3b1%2f1%2f2000&ServletTask=Print&cmd=get_pg&page=1
    As you can see here it's all messed up.
    So, what i found here is that the underlying cause is that we are passing a "date" in the original QueryString and it seems on the postback the Crystal Reports Viewer is having some issue with that and basically messes up the query string...
    I have Crystal Reports 2008/SP3 installed.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Cleaning up these forums I came across this unanswered thread.
    Very weird behavior that I have seen maybe 3 or 4 years ago - I think it was with opendocument.aspx...
    In this case, we appear to be re-adding the querystring with the aspx name and question mark (u2026.parentagesu2026).  Having two question marks (%3f) is essentially a malformed URL since this indicates where the querystring starts.
    The duplicate querystring may have been a coding error(?) where it gets added again on a postback.
    Were you able to resolve the issue?

    If I change the user agent string in Firefox to that of Firefox 7.0.1 everything works as expected, this implies there is some logic in get_IsNetscape6Up() which is failing because the major browser version as reported by the user agent string is two digits instead of one.
    We encountered a similar issue for our legacy pages containing Infragistics 2007 controls but were able to fix that by overriding the System.Web.Configuration.HttpCapabilitiesBase.BrowserCapabilitiesProvider and faking the browser version to 9.80.  Crystal Report Viewer is apparently not using .Net's built in HttpBrowserCapabilities object, is there anything else I can adjust to stop the viewer failing?

    hello Robert
    Today must be my day. I already got a reply from PM (normally it takes a "bit" longer...). Anyhow, here is what he said:
    With Firefoxu2019s release cycles, I donu2019t think weu2019ll be able to officially support the latest versions
    of Firefox at every service release.  We do our best to test the released versions of Firefox
    that align with our releases.  I donu2019t know the details but Iu2019ve heard there is a plan in place where
    the support team(s) (?) will test the most recent releases of Firefox with whatu2019s currently
    shipping by SAP and log bugs as necessary.
    (umm, this is my - Ludek note here ) -> news to me re. support doing QA... find out something new every day. Anyhow, continuation of the message from PM:
    The current plan for CR for VS2010, the SP3 release (expected in April) will support up to
    Firefox 9.  If there are reproducible bugs in Firefox 10 (or higher), then please enter a bug
    and escalate and it will be investigated for the next available release.
    I'll revisit this once SP3 is out there and do an escalation for Firefox 10 - ok?

  • Crystal Report Viewer Credential Prompt for Report with Dynamic Parameters

    The .NET Crystal Report Viewer is prompting for database credentials when launching a report containing dynamic parameters. This only occurs for reports created with SAP Crystal Reports 2011 designer. Reports created with Crystal Reports XI designer (where dynamic parameters were first introduced) work correctly.
    The credential prompt window contains the following fields:
    - Server Name: <server name> (disabled)
    - Database Name: <database name> (disabled)
    - User Name: <empty> (enabled)
    - Password: <empty> (enabled)
    - Use Single Signon Key: false (disabled)
    The values in the prompt window which are disabled are the database connection values used during the design of the report in the SAP Crystal Reports 2011 designer.
    Expected Result:
    - No prompt for database credentials.
    - Values read from the database should be populated in a drop down for the dynamic parameters.
    Environment:
    - Visual Studio 2010 (C#)
    - Windows 7 Enterprise
    - SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4
    - SAP Crystal Reports, version for Visual Studio 2010
    - SAP Crystal Reports 2011
    The database connection is being set to use a DSN. It must be a DSN as the calling application is only aware of the DSN/Username/Password values. These values are being passed to the Crystal Report Viewer contained in a Windows form.
    The database connection for the report is being set as follows:
    foreach (InternalConnectionInfo internalConnectionInfo in this.report.DataSourceConnections)
        // Must set the UseDSNProperties flag to True before setting the database connection otherwise the connection does not work
        if (internalConnectionInfo.LogonProperties.ContainsKey("UseDSNProperties"))
            internalConnectionInfo.LogonProperties.Set("UseDSNProperties", true);
        // Supposed to set the database connection for all objects in the report (ie. main report, tables, sub reports)
        internalConnectionInfo.SetConnection(this.DSN, string.Empty, this.LoginName, this.Password);
    The SetConnection method's signature is as follows:
       SetConnection(string server, string database, string name, string password)
    As you can see from the code snippet above I am setting the DSN name as the server parameter, blank for the database parameter (a database connection using DSN should only require DSN name/Username/Password) and the database username and password respectively.
    Is this a SAP bug?
    Is this the correct way of setting the database connection to use a DSN?
    Is there some other properties that need to be set somewhere else in the report through code?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the pointer to the database connection code generator. After taking a look at the output from the tool I was able to finally get the dynamic parameters to load and populate properly without prompting for credentials. I needed to tweak the outputted code a bit to match my requirements of using a DSN only connection.
    Instead of updating the database connection properties contained within the Report.Database.Tables collection from the CrystalReports.Engine namespace, I changed it to replace the database connection properties in the Report.ReportClientDocument.DatabaseController.Database.Tables collection from the CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel namespace. For one reason or another, using the RAS namespace solved the problem.
    Below is the updated code with the change made:
    using RAPTable = CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.Table;
    foreach (InternalConnectionInfo internalConnectionInfo in this.report.DataSourceConnections)
        // Must set the UseDSNProperties flag to True before setting the database connection
        if (internalConnectionInfo.LogonProperties.ContainsKey("UseDSNProperties"))
            internalConnectionInfo.LogonProperties.Set("UseDSNProperties", true);
        // Sets the database connection for all objects in the report (ie. main report, tables, sub reports)
        internalConnectionInfo.SetConnection(this.DSN, string.Empty, this.LoginName, this.Password);
    // The attributes for the QE_LogonProperties which is part of the main property bag
    PropertyBag innerPropertyBag = new PropertyBag();
    innerPropertyBag.Add("DSN", this.DSN);
    innerPropertyBag.Add("UserID", this.LoginName);
    innerPropertyBag.Add("Password", this.Password);
    innerPropertyBag.Add("UseDSNProperties", "true");
    // The attributes collection of the tables ConnectionInfo object
    PropertyBag mainPropertyBag = new PropertyBag();
    mainPropertyBag.Add("Database DLL", "crdb_ado.dll");
    mainPropertyBag.Add("QE_DatabaseType", "OLE DB (ADO)");
    mainPropertyBag.Add("QE_LogonProperties", innerPropertyBag);
    // Pass the database properties to a connection info object
    ConnectionInfo connectionInfo = new ConnectionInfo();
    connectionInfo.Attributes = mainPropertyBag;
    connectionInfo.Kind = CrConnectionInfoKindEnum.crConnectionInfoKindCRQE;
    connectionInfo.UserName = this.LoginName;
    connectionInfo.Password = this.Password;
    // Replace the database connection properties of each table in the report
    foreach (RAPTable oldTable in this.report.ReportClientDocument.DatabaseController.Database.Tables)
        RAPTable table = new RAPTable();
        table.ConnectionInfo = connectionInfo;
        table.Name = oldTable.Name;
        table.QualifiedName = oldTable.QualifiedName;
        table.Alias = oldTable.Alias;
        this.report.ReportClientDocument.DatabaseController.SetTableLocation(oldTable, table);
    this.report.VerifyDatabase();
    Thanks again Ludek for the help.

  • How to install SharePoint MOSS 2007 PIK for Crystal Report Server XI R2?

    My configuration is :
    Moss 2007 without any Crystal Report or BO component. on one box with Windows 2003 server
    Cyrstal Report Server XI R2 on another box
    I have downloaded the kit installation: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/uuid/503988db-58c5-2b10-f79d-cb96700417f9 [original link is broken]
    I used this one as they said:
    BusinessObjects XI Release 2 SharePoint 2007 Portal Integration Kit
    Download BusinessObjects XI Release 2 SharePoint 2007 Portal Integration Kit - ZIP 5MB
    I do not have BO Enterprise.
    Thanks,

    Answered my own question.  Managed to upgrade to 5.0 following this process, but follow these instructions with care...
    1.  Stop all CMS services in Config Manager.
    2. Go to Add/Remove programs and click "change" for Crystal Reports Server XI.  Click on "Modify" then change the entry for MySQL4.1.13a to "Entire Feature will be unavailable" (from Enterprise -> Server Components -> Servers - > Central Management Server).  This will remove the existing mySQL version and any data/license key information/customisation, so be wary.
    3. Install the desired version of mySQL.
    4. Use the MySql command line to create a new database - "create DATABASE BOE115;"
    5. In the Central Config Manager, select the CMS and display its properties.  Select the Dependencies tab and remove the old version of mySQL and add the new version.  Click on the Config tab, then Select Datasource.  Select mySQL driver, then complete the details for the newly created database.  Once complete it will still produce an error, at which point you need to select the options to Re-create the Current Datasource.
    6. Once the datasource is sucessfully recreated, restart the Crystal service in the Config Manager.
    7. Open the Config tool, and add your license key. Then Re-Enable all the servers within the Servers page.
    8.  Any other customisation or preferences would need to be re-applied.
    This worked for me, but obviously take care as your existing mySQL database will be completely removed during the process.

  • Crystal reports viewer will not prompt for parameters

    Help,
    I can not get crystal report viewer to prompt for parameters when called from IIS 8 on Server 2012 r2
    I can get crystal report viewer to prompt for parameters when run from vs 2010 built in web service.

    Thanks,
    The solution for me was to uninstall the latest crystal reports runtime 13.10.x and install 13.6.x instead.
    Thanks anyway.

  • CRVS2010 Beta - Report Viewer Errors for Crystal Reports in VS 2010

    I have a project that was written in VS 2008 targeting the 3.5 framework which contains a ton of Crystal Reports.  I recieved my new license for VS 2010 and did the install along with the Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2.  I converted my project over successfully.  I am able to open up the reports on their own.  When I try to save them they want to be converted to the new format.  This also works fine.  My problem is the Crystal Reports Viewer.  I am not able to add any reports to the viewer without receiving error messages.  I have tried using the 10.5 and the latest version of the viewer, but receive errors everytime that I try to add a report to it.  I always recevie the following error:
    "Error invoking 'Choose a Crystal Report...'. Details: Invalid Report Source"
    I have also tried just creating a brand new report from the Crystal Report Viewer Tasks window.  When I do that I get this error:
    "Unable to find the report in the manifest resources. Please buld the project, and try again."  "Error invoking 'Create a New Crystal Report...'. Details: Unable to find the report in the mnifest resources. Please build the project, and try again."
    I have tried changed the framework target to 4.0, but this has not helped.  I have tried using the 14.0 versions of the references and the 10.5 versions.  I have searched all over the internet for a resolution, but can't seem to find one.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I am having the same problem. You say make sure all of my assemblies are version 14. Three questions:
    1. Now that I have removed all of the old Crystal assemblies from my project, what are the assemblies that I need to add back?
    2. My VS 2010 "add references" popup shows me many crystal assembles (Crystal XI is also installed) which ones to I need to install now?
    3. If I don't know what they are, or where to find them, how do I determine their version?
    You solution reminds me of the old saying "If I had ham, I could make ham and eggs. If I had eggs!"
    More information please,

  • Crystal Reports Server 2011 and BW 7 as a data source for uploaded reports.

    Hello,
    I am hoping someone can provide me with a clear answer for this.
    Lets assume..
    1. We are running crystal reports server 2011 and BW 7
    2. We want to publish a report in the BI Launch pad so users can view it
    3. Can we create a crystal report in the report designer with the data source as BW 7 then upload it to the reports server and have it run on-demand and Run over night?
    Can anyone shed some light in this area?
    kind regards

    Hi,
    Crystal Reports Server is not supporting the SAP Integration Kit. You will need BusinessObjects Edge or BusinessObjects Enterprise

    Hi Don,
    thank you. It is ok using the files you indicated me. But there are still some doubts.
    What does happen on a machine where a designer 2011 (internal version 14) is installed and an application that uses the dlls for Visual Studio 2010 (internal version 13). Does this work without problems?
    In a readme for the redistributables for Visual Studio 2010  I have found the following text which I cannot interprete:
    If you have installed Crystal Reports 2011 or any of the SAP BusinessObjects XI 4.0 products,
    you may notice that their installation contains the same "Crystal Reports 2011" and "SAP
    BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0" folders as you see in this folder.  Please note that the
    folder/files names may be the same but most files have a different version, and are not
    compatible with the Crystal Reports 2011 or SAP BusinessObjects XI 4.0 products.
    Currently we want to upgrade our programs from Crystal Reports 9 to 2011 and we have many installations where for one machine the Crystal Reports Designer is needed together with our applications.

  • Configure ePortfolio for Crystal Reports 9 Report Application Server for Users to Run Reports

    Sorry for this basic question but Crystal 9 is no longer supported and I am having trouble finding any documentation about how to configure ePortfolio let alone obtain any help from Crystal support.
    I have a set of .RPT files and would like the simplest and quickest method of distribution to the users with as little coding and fuss as possible.
    We have the ePortfolio page up and running but the users can only view the reports from ePortfolio. They also need to be able to run (refresh) the reports and enter the parameters which have already been built into the .RPT file. Providing access to the deactivated Schedule and History links would also be useful though not a priority unlike access to refresh and enter parameters.
    I usually create reports to run from within an application which I can handover to the application developer so working out how to distribute via this method is pretty new to me.
    I've also had a quick look at the Crystal Reports Viewer XI which appears to be backward compatible for Crystal 9 reports however this also appears to only allow users to view, not generate, reports.
    Any recommendations? Or could you point me in the direction of some documentation that might assist?

    I think I've worked out that we are actually using ePortfolio Lite. Would anyone be able to confirm if there are any configuration options for ePortfolio Lite? I think we only have the Crystal Reports 9 Advanced version, not Crystal Reports 9 Enterprise. Would this mean that we therefore only have ePortfolio Lite not ePortfolio?
