Install ext. drive software or not?

I have a new Seagate GoFlex Desk for Mac external drive (9ZQAP3-500 2TB), and plan to partition it to use half for a secondary TimeMachine full backup, and half for storing miscellaneous files. Question - is there any reason I should or should not install Seagate's provided software? I have seen many mixed feelings on this in various reviews/forums, and am a bit confused... any knowledge or opinions will be appreciated.

Load the drivers and you should then be able to add it in Print Center.

IPod Nano 8G - Win7 - Device driver software wat not successfully installed

Just got my first Apple iPod Nano 8G (4th) and has installed iTune 9.0.2 (64bit) on my Win 7 Ultimate x64. But I am not able to connect iPod nor Sync with iTune successfully even after reinstall/reboot many times with the same problem.
After the installation of iTune accomplished, I plug USB adapter into PC, then Win7 detected and started to install the driver for the hardware, but got "Device driver software wat not successfully installed" as a result.
Then I went to Device Manager tring to install the driver manually for "Apple iPod USB Driver", but finally I failed again and got "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device....", I think this is the software problem, please kindly advise, thanks a lot!First, my officejet 4500 all-in-one installed and is working perfectly with wireless; however, I have for months still/have been getting the error/uninstall window continuously, telling me install was not successful, but again, printer, scanner, etc., working fine! But this "the installation was not successful" window is ALWAYS up or if I ctrl-alt-del and get it to end now, it comes back up; I have even let it do its thing, finish, restart, but it ALWAYS comes back up, trying to find a solution, etc. BUT MY PRINTER IS WORKING FINE! Please help me get rid of this; also, the file that it puts on desktop to troubleshoot, etc then delete afterward, I have deleted it, but this "unsuccessful" keeps trying to uninstall, reinstall; and as I said, actually went through all the steps to get it gone (printer working fine) but it will not go away! I cannot get my passport to connect to eather of my PC's, one is running Win 7 Pro 64bit, and one is running Win 7 pro 32bit. both pc's give me the same driver error-"device driver software was not successfully installed" i have latest versions of Link and Blend installed on the pc's, and 10.3.0.908 on my pasport madel SQW100-1

whats the point in a exceptional good phone with poor support??
if this poor service continues, this would be definatly my last sony device..
and build a linux version of your crappy software!! android IS linux so you have plenty developers.. -
When i open windows,a notification appears saying "installing device drive software" , later "device drive software was not successfully installed".
This has nothing to do with Mozilla Firefox. Device drivers are with usb drivers most of the time.

Install Device Driver Software for Palm TX
My new notebook has Windows Vista and I have had my Palm TX for almost two years. To install the Palm on my notebook I downloaded the version for Vista from Palm.com. When I went to synchronize the Palm with the computer during the installation the message kept coming back that "device driver software" could not be found. Where do I find the driver software? Is it on the original CD that came with the Palm? At this point I don't know what to do. Can someone help me with this problem?

When you upgraded to Vista, did you install over the existing XP install on the same PC or get a new computer with Vista?
If you upgraded over the existing install of XP, you may need to do a "clean" uninstall and re-install Palm desktop. You should be able to use the original CD that you got with the TX on the Vista OS.
Not sure why you are getting the 680 message. Did you ever have a Treo 680 or a handheld that is a different model than the TX?
Here are the "clean" uninstall procedure for Vista.
You should first make a copy of your data to have just in case something
happens. You can find your data files by going to Start --> Documents -->
Palm OS Desktop. Highlight your Palm Desktop username and right click and
copy. Then go to your PC desktop right click on a blank spot and select paste.
Now you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove everything that has to do
with Palm Desktop from your computer.
Go to the following locations on the PC and delete the folders listed below.
C:\Program Files\Palm or Palm One
C:\Users\[Vista Login Name]\appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Palm or
PalmOne
C:\Users\[Vista Login Name]\appdata
*Note you may need to view hidden folders to get to appdata. To do that go
into your control panel and open folder options. Go to view tab and uncheck
hide hidden files.
Once this is done you will need to delete some registry keys from your PC Operating System.
Word of warning, going here and deleting the wrong thing can cause your PC
from starting up, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel
you are unsure of yourself, see if you have a friend that can help you or a
PC technician that you can pay to help you. This procedure will show them everything they need to delete. To make sure we have a good copy of the current registry, we need to do a backup of the Registry.
Go to start on the PC, in the search field type "regedit.exe" without quotes.
Highlight COMPUTER, go to File --> Export. Should pop up with a Save As box.
Current location is fine, should be in My Documents or save to a location you will remember. In the file name on the bottom type "backup[todaysdate]" i.e. backup07072008. Next, the hard part.
The easiest way to make sure your working with the correct key, highlight the key i.e. palm quick install, and press delete on your keyboard. It will ask you, are you sure. Say yes. Do the same thing for all keys below.
If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician.
BUT do not turn off your computer.

but if they are delete them)

* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource or anything else that says palm
Next reboot your computer.
Then reinstall your palm desktop from the CD and do a hotsync. If it asks
you for a username and you synced your device before, put in 'test" if you
did not sync before create a hotsync name.

Installing Multisim & Driver Software

Briefly. I am a new student who's been issued my class software. In my software package I was issued 2 Dvd's. First dvd NI Circuit Design Suite (Multisim) 12.0.1. & the 2nd NI ELVISmx 4.4 Driver Software. I am not sure which dvd out of the package to install first. If someone could help. Laslty can someone also suggest a tutorial showing how install the driver software. Thank's in advance Kelly.Hi there,
Will you be using NI myDAQ or NI ELVIS hardware? If not, then you don't need to install the NI ELVISmx driver software. Simply run the Multisim installer and make sure you disable the NI ELVISmx 4.x feature.
If you have the the hardware, then run the Multisim installer, enable the NI ELVISmx feature. The installer will let you know when to insert the DVD for the driver software.

Driver software is not available from Apple
Was using an HP LaserJet 1020 without any problems until last week, when it just gave out and it shows the following error every time: "driver software is not available from Apple". Have tried to install the latest drivers but it won't allow it with the same error.
Also tried following these instructions http://blog.jayway.com/2010/04/08/hp-laserjet-1020-in-snow-leopard/ but it gets stuck on the third step. The driver list can't be opened and it reads "driver software is not available from Apple" again.
Any suggestions?From what I can tell from online research, HP never claimed the 1020 printer series was compatible with Macs or has ever developed any OS X drivers for them. For instance, from the "Specifications" tab of this product info page:
Because of that, I'm kind of amazed that you ever got your 1020 to work with any version of OS X, unless some sort of hack or third party driver was involved. If so, you might want to check with the originator of that workaround to see if there are any new developments that would get it working again. -

be great ..Sounds like your i tunes set up on the windows machine is messed up. Suggest you reinstall itunes again. Drivers etc should be in the package. A fair number of windows folks have firewall related time out issues, so turn the firewall off along with your antivirus when you do the i tunes download.
