Install Plugin for RedHat 8.0 Mozilla

Hello..Perhaps someone can assist me. I'm having difficulty loading the java plugin into the default Mozilla browser.
OS - Red Hat Linux 8.0
Browser - Mozilla 1. 0. 2
sdk - J2SE 1.4.1_03
I didn't install the jdk as root, but according to Sun's documentation that did not appear to be necessary.
I've followed the instructions found on the internet and created a a symbolic link:
ln -s /home/me/j2sdk/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla-1.0.2/pluginsI restarted the browser several times to no effect. I restarted the computer to no effect. I have made sure that the plugin is enabled at: Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Enable Java in the browser. Then after checking around the mozilla.org web site I learned to edit my .bash_profile document in my home directory (assuming that I am the only user of this computer). I've added
export MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH=$HOME/j2sdk/jre/plugin/i386/ns610Then I created a Java Home variable, also to no effect.
export JAVA_HOME=$HOME/j2sdkI still can not see the plugin listed in the browser when I enter about:plugins in the url window. Only the default plugin is listed.
Please help. I don't know what else I can do. I am not able to run applets in the browser.

Possibly you don't have permission to write into the mozilla directory.
Do you have permission to write into the /usr/lib/mozilla-1.0.2 ?
If you type as a normal user, you don't have it.
Try to type command "ln -s .....etc.." as root.

  • Install plugin for Apache2 for Windows???!!!

Please, anybody tell me the steps to make to install the plugin for Apache2 on Windows platform.
The documentation found on the Bea site at.:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/adminguide/apache.html#115010
    is rather ambigous.
If anybody knows how to do this, where to put the .so files, what to write in the httpd.conf ... etc, please reply me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Stefi.

I ran into the same situation. I contacted BEA support and confirmed that this
is the current situation: the current WebLogic 7.0 Apache 2.0 plug-in works on
Apache 2.0.39 but not Apache 2.0.40. This, evidently, is because of a change in
Apache's plug-in API. BEA is processing a change request to support Apache 2.0.40
but no date was given for when it would be available.

Does anyone know anything about this?

  • Installing Plugin for Aperature

Hi there, I hope someone could help me - a Mac user over a year already, but still very blurry about Mac OS.
I am trying to install a plugin for 'Aperture to Picasa', so I could export Aperture photos to Picasa. However, I can't locate my Aperture home folder and it is so frustrating because there's no folder that contains Aperture at all!!
I have been given this link - ~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-ins/Export. What should I do since I can't find the Aperature folder? I have just upgraded to mountain lion and is currently using Aperature 3.3.2.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you all!!

Using the 'Go' menu, hold down the 'Option' key and you should see 'Library' in the list now. Click on it and you will be at: '~/Library' address.
Open the 'Application Support' folder and then the 'Aperture' folder (both of which should exist if you have launched Aperture at least once).
At this point, you may need to create either or both of the 'Plug-Ins' and 'Export' folders (Export needs to be inside of the 'Plug-Ins' folder).
That will give you an address of '~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Export'. I don't use Picassa, but am assuming you just need to place the Picassa plug-in in the 'Export' folder at this point.
    Hope that helps.

  • How install plugins for Shake???

    Hi
I tryed to install some plugins for Shake. When asked for install folder,i set Application/Shake.But Sahke dont see any plugins. Then i do "Show Package Content" of Shake and copy all files in the same folders.Shake now see plugins (DFT) ,BUT when i load plugins - "Missing Macros" big red letters shows on the screen.
    Whats it the problem??

Macros can be installed in several places depending on what you want.
I prefer installing them in user space, that way I can disable add on's (if I run into to configuration problems) by simply logging under another user account.
Install macros in the user account by putting them in
    /Users/USERNAME/nreal/include/startup/
    /Users/USERNAME/nreal/include/startup/ui/
    /Users/USERNAME/nreal/icons/
You will need to create any directories you don't already have

  • How to install plugins for Adobe Reader as non-root?

I'm using Acrobat on a linux system, but I'm not the administrator. I need to install a new plugin (FileOpen.api from www.nr.com) to open their pdf-files. They explain very nice how to place that plugin in the plug_ins directory, but that's a systems directory and you need to be root to do that, which is not an option in my case. However: it is very common practice on linux systems that these type of things can also be installed under some users-dir, for example ~/.acrobat/plug_ins This example definitely does NOT work, but which directory will work?

    Hi Jakob,
You can place your plugins in a folder named 'plug_ins' under your home directory:
    $HOME/plug_ins
They will be picked up by the Adobe Reader if they are Reader-enabled.

  • Trouble installing plugins for CS3 and CS4 onto a 32 bit/64 bit PC.

I have two new PCs. They are supposed to run both 32 Bit and 64 Bit programs.
I have CS3 and CS4 32 Bit programs installed on both.
Many of my old faithful plugins have gone on strike or at least a work stoppage!
I can get some of them to install correctly, but some arre just not cooperating.
Is there a workaround for this problem?
    I have considered:
    1. Creating a partition for Window 7 32 bit, but I am not so technically savvy to be confident that I would do it correctly
    2. Buy an older 32 bit machine and install windows 7, but that is getting to the edge of too pricey.
    Any suggestions?
I really need some of those plugins! I have built a business around them.

The truth is that you can run Windows 7 and Windows 8, in both 32 and 64-bit versions, without any problem (you have a 64-bit processor). The problem is that Apple only supports a 32-bit Windows 7 version for your Mac. Why? Because Apple wanted to drop the Windows 8 support for the computer you are using.
You can see in this page all the Macs compatible with 64-bit Windows editions > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1846 As you can see, your Mac isn't supported, so you can only install a 32-bit Windows 7 version with Boot Camp if you want to run Windows correctly.
I told you at the beggining that you can install any 32 or 64-bit Windows 7 and Windows 8 versions on your Mac because your iMac meets the requirements for both editions. However, you need the Boot Camp drivers to make Windows run properly, and here's where Apple has dropped a lot of computers, making them unusable if you install a version that Apple clasifies as unsupported. Sad but that's true

  • Installing Plugins via Terminal (Mac)

I would like to be able to install plugins in Extension Manager via terminal and enable the installed plugins for a specific set of extensions (InCopy).  I have downloaded the Adobe Extension Manager Help and Tutorials document and it explains the process of installing plugins via terminal.  But when I run the install command, it actually launches Extension Manager in the console.
I want to be able to install extensions and plugins silently and even when the user is not logged in.  Is this possible and can someone point me to a document which explains the process?

For your coworker's issue, besides database file and plugin files, you also have to include files in EM Store folder and Mxi Flag folder.
    If your extension is per-machine extension (all files in extension will be installed to per-machine location), you have to include "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/Configuration/DB/ExMan.db", "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/EM Store/InCopy CS6/*.*" and "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/Mxi Flag/InCopy CS6/*.*"
If your extension is per-user extension (all files in extension will be installed to folder under user home), you have to include "/Users/<UserName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/Configuration/DB/ExManUser.db", "/Users/<UserName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/EM Store/InCopy CS6/*.*" and "/Users/<UserName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/Mxi Flag/InCopy CS6/*.*".
You also have to ensure all the machines have the same user name.

  • Windows Media plugin for firefox loads but does not play

    Hi,
I am facing problems using windows media plugin on firefox as well as other browsers as well. I guess the problems would lie on the windows media plugin.
Few weeks back, I do not have any problems running windows media player on firefox, however I am unable to do so now. I am able to load the plugin but I cannot play it. I tried testing the plugin on the site below. Thank you for your help.
Windows Media plugin for firefox :
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/play-windows-media-files-in-firefox?s=windows+media+&r=0&e=es&as=s

    Hi,
You can try to fully trust Firefox + its sub processes/files in the security software (antivirus and firewall). You can also try to '''Disable''' other possibly conflicting '''Plugins''' in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons'''. You could also uninstall it from the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features and [www.interoperabilitybridges.com/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download reinstall it].

  • How to install Adobe Flash Player plugin for 64bit Arch

I was trying to install the new 64-bit flash plugin for my newly install 64-bit Arch.
I want to install the 64-bit plugin, and also found this Wiki page https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Br … ins#64-bit
I'm not used to AUR, and have no idea how to use it for now. I just want to get the 64-bit version plugin working asap without any complaexity.
So is there any fast way to get it to work? (i'm open to adding a repository to my /etc/pacman.conf)
    Something like
    pacman -S flashplugin-prerelease
would be good enough for me for now.
So, how do I get it work quickly? (I'm also open to suggestions like extracting the libflashplayer.so library from http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs … 710.tar.gz to some system directory.)

    Hi,
I think I understand your concern at most. I also had the same problem. What you can (should !!!) do is:
    1. Download this "Square" Preview Release from http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs … 710.tar.gz
    2. Unpack it
    3. Execute the command "mkdir ~/.mozilla/plugins/"
    4. Copy the unpacked libflashplayer.so into the above folder you created by doing "mv libflashplayer.so ~/.mozilla/plugins/"
    5. Restart your firefox
    6. Optional (check whether it is installed by typing about:plugins in your browser URL field.) you should be able to see this under shockwave flash.
I have seen many people saying that this version does not work very well. For me it is working flawlessly and effortlessly. Once they publish the official version, I will switch to the newest. Otherwise, I really do not have any problem with it. Good for you! :-)
