Installation error with Photoshop CC 2014

I'm having a problem installing Photoshop CC 2014 on my Windows 7 64bit pc.  I am using the CC panel to install the software and it indicates it is installed, but when I open the software after I get past the splash screen I get a popup saying Photoshop CC has stopped working and my only option is to close it and try again.  I have tried uninstalling the software via Windows control panel and reinstalling via the CC panel after a reboot, but to no avail. Any ideas ?

Hi MMSmyth,
Please use the CC Cleaner tool ( Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 ) to remove the software completely.
> Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
> Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and try installing from CC and check.

  • Eye Dropper error with Photoshop CC 2014

    On my work computer I am experiencing a "Program Error" when trying to use the eye dropper to sample a colour.
    My home computer has no problem.
    I un-installed and re-installed the program with no positive result.

    Two suggestions:
    Reset the tool or all the tools by right-clicking or ctrl-clicking on the icon to bring up the menu.
    Reset your Preferences by holding down cmd-opt-shift and starting Photoshop to get the reset dialog.

  • Installation error with Photoshop CS6

    Too late - I already dragged the beta version of CS6 into the trash. Now I am getting the "conflicting" prerelease message when trying to install the full version on my Mac. How can i reslove this and complete my installation?
    Thanks F.

    Hi Thames River Greenery,
    Use the Adobe Cleaner Tool to erase the traces of Beta Version use the link which Manish_1988 Provided you.
    www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    If Cleaner Tool does not help. Try the below solution.
    Navigate to Libray/Application Support/Adobe
    You will find a Folder named caps move it to Desktop (Cut and Paste caps folder on Desktop or you can Rename the folder to caps.old).
    Try installing the software.
    NOTE: If you are on MAC Lion, to find Library, Open Finder Click on Go menu > Go To Folder and Type in  /Library and click on OK you will find Library Folder.

    I get "Could not initialize Photoshop because of a program error" with PS CC 2014 on a 2099 Macbook Pro running Mavericks. Then the program closes. Can anyone help?

    Could be corrupt preferences, a problem with the OS font cache, or some other problem with the OS.
    First, try resetting the preferences.

    Hello.  I am running Photoshop CC 2014 on a MAC with OSX LION.  I also have Photoshop CS6 installed.  When I double-click on a file in Bridge CC, it always opens in CS6.  If I say "OPEN WITH Photoshop CC 2014", or if I drag the file directly to CC 2014 in the Dock it will open in CC.  Since I like to double-click or hit return in the bridge, I am constantly having to wait until the file opens in CS6, quit CS6 an then open it another way to get it into Photoshop CC 2014.  I tried to disable CS6 by hiding it, but then double-clicking Bridge did nothing.  Any ideas why this is happening?

    Check and adjust the File Type Associations in the bridge cc preferences.

  • I can't get Dr Browns Image Processor Pro to work from Bridge with Photoshop CC 2014

    We use the wonderful DR Browns Image Processor Pro script a lot, but cannot get it to work from Bridge with PS CC 2014. When I select files in Bridge CC and then go to Tools> Dr Browns Services 2.3.1 > Image Processor Pro it just pops up an error message that says ReferenceError: photoshop is undefined.
    The actual script works fine if I launch it from Photoshop CC 2014 - just not if I load it from Bridge CC.
    I have unistalled it and re installed a few times, both manually and through the Extension Manager CC.
    I am using a Win 7 64bit computer.
    I assume there is some change in the scripting part that loads Photoshop from bridge but not sure. It worked fine in CC. Just not CC 2014.
    I opened the Dr Browns Services .jsx file but don't see anything obvious. This is the section related to the Image Processor Pro part:
      // This routine takes an array of files. If called by Photoshop,
      // it will invoke Dr. Brown's Process 1-2-3 with the files. If called by
      // any other app, it will send a BridgeTalk message to Photoshop
      // to invoke this routine with the same arguments.
    drbrownserv.process123 = function (files) {
    // Bring Photoshop to the foreground.
      BridgeTalk.bringToFront ("photoshop");
      // Create a new BridgeTalk message for Photoshop to invoke
      // Image Processor with the selected files
      var btMessage = new BridgeTalk;
    btMessage.target = "photoshop";
      btMessage.body = "drbrownserv.process123 (" + files.toSource () + ");";
      btMessage.send ();
      } else {
    photoshop.runActionCommand ('611736f0-9c46-11e0-aa82-0800200c9a66', files);
      catch (error) {
      if (error.number != 8007) // Don't report user cancelled errors.
      drbrownserv.alert (error);

    I copied that .jsx file to a new name "Xbytor Image Processor Pro.jsx" edit that file changed the string Dr Browns services to "Xbytor Image Processor Pro" then commented out all the code that added tools menu items but "Image Processor Pro" and I put that file into
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Startup Scripts CC\Adobe Bridge" even though Bridge CC is 64Bit seems to use theat location.
    Bridge CC was updated by the creative clouds update and opens Photoshop CC 2014 now

  • Is Print Studio Pro Compatible with Photoshop CC 2014

    I recently acquired a Pixima Pro 100 and am attempting to install Print Studio Pro so that it can be accessed in Photoshop CC 2014. When I attempt to install, it will find and install in Lightroom and Photoshop CC.  However, it does not find and install in Photoshop CC 2014.  I have attempted to uninstall Photoshop CC with the hope that it would find Photoshop CC 2014.  But it does not. Does any know how to install Print Studio Pro so that it will find Photoshop CC 2014? Cheers, Don Barar

    Hi Debra, Thanks for writing.  What I have learned is that Print Studio Pro is not set up to recognized Photoshop CC (2014).  I happened to have still retained Photoshop CC in my computer.  The installer did recognize Photoshop CC and was installed.  In another forum, a user suggested that I copy the plug-in Print Studio Pro from Photoshop CC to the plug-in directory on Photoshopy CC (2014).  That worked.  Now I have access to Print Studio Pro in Photoshop CC 2014. Cheers, Don Barar

  • Installation Errors with CS4

    I have searched for similar posts, but it's too difficult to find them -- atleast for me.
    Basically I am trying to install Photoshop CS4 however it gave me these errors below. I took everyone's advice I read around the web, restarted my computer, ran the program as admin, turned off my windows live one-care and I still recieved these errors. I just have begun to get to a point where I am about to give up. Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Sorry, maybe I should have posted that I am running Vista 32-bit with the Service Pack 1.
    Adobe Photoshop CS4
    Error:
    Error 1603. Fatal error during installation.
    Adobe Photoshop CS4
    Error:
    Error 1603. Fatal error during installation.
    Adobe Bridge CS4
    Error:
    Error 1603. Fatal error during installation.
    Adobe Device Central CS4
    Error:
    Error 1603. Fatal error during installation.

    The 1603 is a generic message for a Windows installer. MS says:
    You may receive this error message if any one of the following conditions is true:
    The folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to is encrypted.
    The drive that contains the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to is accessed as a substitute drive.
    The SYSTEM account does not have Full Control permissions on the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to.                     You notice the error message because the Windows Installer service uses the SYSTEM account to install software.
    To resolve this problem, do any one of the following, depending on the cause of the problem:
    Install the package to a folder that is not encrypted.
    Use this method if you receive the error message because you try to install the Windows Installer package to a folder that is                     encrypted.
    Install the package to a drive that is not accessed as a substitute drive.
    Use this method if you receive the error message because the drive that contains the folder that you try to install the Windows Installer                     package to is accessed as a substitute drive.
    Grant Full Control permissions to the SYSTEM account. (for Windows 2000 and Windows XP only)
    Use this method if you receive the error message because the SYSTEM account does not have Full Control permissions on the folder that you                     try to install the Windows Installer package to.
    To grant Full Control permissions to the SYSTEM account, follow these steps:
    On the Windows desktop, double-click My Computer. The My Computer window appears.
    Right-click the drive that you want to install the Windows Installer package to, and then click  Properties.
    Click the Security tab.
    On the Security tab, do the following:
    If you are using Microsoft Windows 2000, verify that the Name box contains the SYSTEM user account.
    If you are using Microsoft Windows XP, verify that the Group or user names box contains the SYSTEM user                                 account.
    If the SYSTEM user account does not appear in the box, follow these steps to add the SYSTEM account to the box:
    Click Add. The Select Users or Groups dialog box appears.
    In the Name field, click SYSTEM, and then click Add.
    Click OK.
    In the Permissions section, click to select the Full Control check box under Allow, and then click Advanced.
    Do the following:
    If you are using Windows XP, in the dialog box that appears, click to select the Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects check box for the SYSTEM account, and then click OK.
    If you are not using Windows XP, in the dialog box that appears, click to select the Reset permissions on all child objects and enable propagation of inheritable permissions check box for the SYSTEM account, and then click OK.
    Note If you receive a security message, click Yes.
    Wait for the operating system to apply the permissions that you have selected to all child folders.
    Run the Windows Installer package.
    I would make sure that Windows installer is up-to-date.

  • Performance problems with Photoshop CC 2014 in combination with the imac retina 5k

    Hello,
    I've been using the new imac retina, and i have enormous problems with the performance of Photoshop. If i for example use the selective color correction, this does not run smoothly. Other functions also work delayed. I noticed if i do not use Photoshop in full screen mode,  everything goes back to normal. A friend used the predecessor model imac without 5k resolution, but has no problems. I suspect Photoshop has problems with the resolution of 5k.
    Anyone here who has the same problem?
    Specs:
    4GHz Intel Core i7
    24 GB RAM
    AMD Radeon R9 2048MB
    Photoshop CC 2014.2.2
    Thanks for help
    greetings Manuel

    I hope Adobe fixed this problems with the next updates! With this terrible performance i cannot work. I actually just bought the new iMac Retina, because my old model was too slow... and now the Photoshop Performance is slower than on my old iMac. I have read that other users who have also a 5k iMac, report on same problems.  So i hope that a update or a solution for this problems come very quickly!

  • Issues with Photoshop CC 2014

    I have lost the ability to be productive since purchasing the photographers CC plan and installing Photoshop CC 2014.
    1. Send photo from Lightroom 5.7 to PSCC 2014 then edit using photoshop and NIK collection plugin. Photo begins to loads into PSCC2014 then hang-up and PSCC stops responding causing me to force quit PSCC or photo loads into NIK Collection Plugin without any issues, editing is performed, but when I click "OK" the program hangs up, ( photoshop stops responding), resulting in a Force Quit and loss of all work.
    2. Send image from Lightroom 5.7 to Photoshop CC 2014 using "Edit In". PSCC2014 hangs up while loading image and has to be forced to quit or it loads photo, work is preformed and after clicking "SAVE" to return to LR 5.7 photoshop hangs up and stops responding, causing loss of all edited work.
    I have uninstalled PSCC 2014 along with presets and then reinstalled. No change in outcomes! I have updated and reinstalled the NIK Collection Plugin with no change in outcome. I am unable to get any work done for the last 4 days. I am considering canceling my CC account and trying to return to working with LR 5.7 and Photoshop CS6 as I had before purchasing CC photographers plan providing I can with success return to that configuration.
    Can anyone help? I sure hope so.
    Thanks… gwj

    So the problem is with PSCC, not Lr?
