Installatn of LO SP3 build with office 2007 gives office 2003 kb907417 err

Hi.
Xcelsius and Office 2010
This is further to the above link.
We have our desktop machines wherein we have tried to install Xcelsius 2008 SP3 build and also Live Office SP3 build - with Office 2007 and it works fine. Though the operating system on desktop is Windows 7
However we are testing on moving our desktop machines to the cloud computing.
While we tried installing xcelsius 2008 sp3 build with office 2007 installed locally on thin client of vmware, xcelsius 2008 got installed. on Windows 7
However Live office sp3 build is not getting installed.
Installatn of LO SP3 build with office 2007 gives office 2003 kb907417 error - on windows 7 machine.
Which is ridiculous.
This was an old error of 3.1 which was required for .net 2 framework and the microsoft patch related to office 2003. Which cannot be run on windows 7 ???
But still that error comes up ? Error says :
Update for office 2003(KB 907417) not detected on this machine. Please install the update and re-run the setup.
Can anyone advise what is the way to have this error not crop up on LO installation of SP3 build with office 2007.
So that we could complete this installations.
I do not know what exactly is the related patch to be installed on windows 7, so that we do not get this error, on a vm client.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Regards

JUST FOR INFO :
We sorted the problem finally.
Deleting the entries in registry of office 14.0
HKLM\SW\MS\Office\14.0 - we deleted this entire entry.
Thereafter re-installed office 2007 and installed xcelsius and LO again.
This seems to work on the VM ware clients.

    Hi All,
Recently our user group has been upgraded to Office 2007 from office 2003 and Present essbase version is 7.1.0.
I think officialy there will be no compatility of excel 2007 with essbase 7.x versions.
I have seen some posts that classic essbase client 9.3.1 supports with essbase 7.x versions, though oracle will not provide any support if there are any issues.
can anybody have any ideas, that i can suggest to client.

    After installing Essbase addin
Go into Excel 2007 "Excel Options. and select Add-ins. Go to Excel Addin. Browse.

  • Microsoft Mail not working with Windows 7 & MS-Office 2010

    Dear All
I have a client who is using Microsoft Mail for their internal mailing. They have been using MSoffice ( Outlook) for this purpose for last so many years.
We have found that Microsoft Mail does not work with Windows 7 and MS Office 2010 combination.
When you try to configure it given error 0x8004110.
When we tried with different versions, we found that if you install Office 2007 it works. If you try Office 2007 and then Office 2010 and remove Office 2007, it still work. But Then it is treated as 2 installations of Msoffice on the same computer.
I need to know whether this is right from Licensing perspective.  We 'll be using single copy of office but it may seems as we have installed Office 2007 & office 2010 on same computer.

Windows 7 is a supported operation system for Office 2010. At what exactly point will you get the specific error?
Is that a Click-To-Run version of Office 2010? By default, for MSI-based version of Office, when you upgrade existing Office 2007 to Office 2010, the earlier version of Office will be removed:

  • Windows XP with Outlook 2007 authentication prompt

We have successfully migrated some of our users from Exchange 2010 to 2013 - the ones running Windows 7 and Office 2007 and Office 2013.
We have some users with Windows XP and Office 2007 though and when they start Outlook they get prompted to logon to the mailbox. These are all domain connected PCs in a single domain. If they put their details in Outlook opens as normal but the next time
they start Outlook 2007 they get prompted again.
From looking around I suspect it is something to do with our UCC certificates.
    The primary name is ourdomain.com
    The alternate names are mail.ourdomain.com, mail2.ourdomain.com, ex2010.ourdomain.com and ex2013.ourdomain.com
I have tried setting EXCH and EXPR principal to ourdomain.com and the prompts remain.
Have we set the primary name wrongly ? Should it be mail.ourdomain.com ?
    Any help appreciated

  • BPC and Office 2007 documents

    Is the following statement true:
"Documents created / used by BPC should be in the Excel 97-2003 format"
I am on the SAP Basis team and new to BPC. We are in the development phase of implmenting BPC 7.5 Patch 6 on Netweaver .
The desktops are running Office 2007 and Office 2010.
I resolved an issue last week for a user that was trying to open a template that was saved in an Excel 2007 format and it would not open.  I have another user telling me that his BPC locks up whenever he attempts to open an Excel 2007 "Marco Enabled Workbook" - this is a *.XLSM file. I have two other users telling me that their BPC session "freeze" and need to check with them as to what exactly they are doing when this happens.
Should I be telling my end users that BPC only supports Excel 97-2003 documents and that they should be saving their BPC related documents in this older format?
Thanks in advance for your input

    Hi,
As Sanjeev said ,  that SAP BPC 7.5 supports MS office 2007 and 2010.
one scenario  is that If you save the file in MS office 2003 and then try to open in MS office 2007 it will give that kind of error.
Another scenario  is that once they installed BPC client and then they upgraded the MS Office to 2007 or 2010 it will give problem.
    To solve this :
Re-install MS office first then install BPC Client.
    Hope this will help youu2026

  • Want to export user settings from Office 2007 on client, to be able to import in Office 2013?

Upgrading from Office 2007 to Office 2013. We may need to save the user settings on the client computer, because we are moving some of the systems from 32-bit to 64-bit. How can we export the settings to a folder?

    Hi,
Could you please tell us what is included in user setting? Such as the customized Quick Access Toolbar settings, customize ribbon settings, or profile in Outlook?
Generally, we can’t upgrade operating system from 32-bit to 64-bit directly, we need to reinstall 64-bit operating system.
Office 2007 don’t provide the Import/Export button like Office 2010/Office 2013, we can’t export QAT setting and customize ribbon setting directly.
To customize an installation of Office 2013, you can use the Office Customization Tool (OCT) to perform tasks such as the following:
    Specifying installation options
Customizing how Office applications and features are installed
    Configuring default user settings
Managing additional content: add or remove files, registry entries or shortcuts
Configuring Outlook options: setting the default profile, adding email accounts, and specifying Exchange      settings

  • Installing Unity 7 with Exchange 2007

I need to install Unity 7 with Exchange 2007
The DVDs that I have received from Cisco contains Unity 2003 Message store.
How I can Install Unity 7 with Exchange 2007 and I have 2003 on Unity server.
    Any body can advise me?
and is there any documnet contains the requirements for installation( what I should do on Exchange server)

Here are the questions I need you to answer:
    1) If you plan on integrating with Exchange 2007, my assumption is that you are planning on a Unified Messaging deployment and you will be integrating with your CORPORATE (i.e., existing) Active Directory and Exchange 2007 environment.  Is that correct?  If not, and you are installing a standalone Unity messaging environment then my advice is to use Exchange 2003 as this will provide better ease of use in a standalone environment for you (I'll get to this point in more detail as I answer your questions).
    2) Do you need to configure OAB for Outlook 2003 and Earlier Clients even if all of your users have Outlook 2007?  Yes.  I believe the actual setting in E2K7 may not read exactly as it is written here but the premise is the same which is why the statement "regardless of which versions of Outlook you are using" is included in the installation notes.
    3) What is the difference between Unity with Exchange 2003 vs. Exchange 2007?
    - With Exchange 2007, Unity cannot create mailboxes directly in Exchange due to permission restrictions.  All users and mailboxes must exist before you create a Unity subscriber.  Going back to #1, if you are doing a standalone environment then Exchange 2003 integration is easier from an adminstration perspective.  Unity can create AD users and mailboxes for you with Exchange 2003 but not with Exchange 2007.
    - Expanding on your second question, even with Exchange 2007 the Exchange 2003 System Manager is installed on the Cisco Unity server because it includes the Microsoft messaging API (MAPI) that Unity uses to communicate with Exchange for addressing, sending, and retrieving messages. When using Exchange 2007 as the partner Exchange server for Cisco Unity, offline address books for “Outlook 2003 and earlier clients” should be configured regardless of which version of Outlook is being used or Cisco Unity will not function properly.
    - If you are running a mixed environment of 2003 and 2007 Exchange servers, the Unity partner server must be an Exchange 2007 server.
    - When you install Unity with Exchange 2007, you must run a script on the Exchange 2007 server during the installation.  This is a Power Shell script that creates the primary system accounts (3 of them) that Unity needs to operate because again, it cannot create mailboxes in an integration with Exchange 2007.
    That's all the primary points.

  • Microsoft Office Home Premium: Office has run into an error....

I recently upgraded from Office 2007 to Office 365 Home Premium which includes Outlook 2013.
When I click on Open iCloud Control Panel I first get the iCloud Control Panel.
Then I get a window from Outlook: We're sorry, but Mirocsoft Office has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly.
Microsoft Office will need to be closed as a result.
Would you like us to repair now?
    Any ideas?

    No problem.
I uninstalled Office 365 and installed Office 2010.
Then uninstalled iCloud, downloaded it fresh and reinstalled.
    All working fine now.
Might be nice to put a little stronger message in the Control Center.
When I installed Office 365 I believe I saw a message in iCC that said something like
'there are two Outlooks on the system. iCloud will only work with one'.
Then it wanted me to do the setup for iCloud. iCloud didn't seem to balk at setting up into 2013.
But I'm guessing it really didn't install properly.
I appreciate that quick post about Outlook 2013 and iCloud support.
That saved me a lot of time.
Office 365 loses the Windows Search facility. That comes back by regressing
to 2010. I use that a lot. I missed it the short time I was on 2013.
Off topic, but can Yahoo mail go through iCloud? That might be something
    I could use.

  • MBSA and Office 2007 SP3

I have seen similar problems descriped on this forum. (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/security/en-US/f842e040-c04a-4819-bb63-8e0dff7759ab/mbsa-and-windows-update-discrepancy)
I have several Windows XP machines which is to connected to my full updated WSUS server.
Office 2007 SP3 is installed on the clients and all needed patches is confirmed installed/updated by the WSUS server including the Office 2007 SP3.
When I run MSBA 2.2 against one of the clients, MBSA state that Office 2007 SP3 is missing.
From the file info of WinWord.exe and from the Help GUI in Word on the client, I can confirm that SP3 is installed: 12.0.6668.5000
If I download the SP3 to Office 2007 and SP3 to Office 2007 Language pack that MBSA offers and tries to install them, it says
that the ServicePack is already installed on the system.
Any suggestions for why MBSA detects that ServicePack is needed even if it is already installed on the client  ?
(Compatibility pack for Office 2007 is not installed on the client)
    Best Regards
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
Seems I fell into the issue.
Actually, if I run a Microsoft Update, it tells me that there's a "MS Office 2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3)" rolloout that I should install. I asked to download it, saw it was 21MB big (rather small), installed it, and the problem was solved.
Now, I would like to know what was actually installed, in order to add it to a Task Sequence I'm building a new image with. The problem is that I can't find any evidence (KB reference or whatever) of what has been run. The History logs only refers to "MS
    Office 2007 SP3"...
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks!

  • Having problems with OPA 10 and office 2007 templates

    Hi,
I have a OPA 10 and office 2007 set up which is having some issues with the macros. Seems to me that the visual basic code is not kicking off really well sometimes. I am trying to map the sequence which leads to the errors and I believe that the issue is around opening an old word doc which has a old template version (.dot). This may be the cause for OPA getting lost when working with word 2007.
For example, I ask to open a rules doc and the visual basic tells me that OPA couldn't open the doc but word is opening the doc anyway. However none of the toolbar commands work as well as I can 't save the doc etc.
Have you experienced any issue with OPA 10 and Office 2007? Any special word configuration? Should i go back to office 2003?
BTW, I have both dotm and dot templates loaded as add-ins in word. The dotm toolbar looks good but the dot toolbar is a bit strange in 2007.
    Cheers,
    Paulo

    Hi Paulo,
Have a look at the following tips from Davin Fifield about troubleshooting the toolbar.
Sometimes when using Oracle Policy Modeling, Microsoft Word documents that are part of a Policy Modeling project may appear without the OPA toolbar (in Office 2003) or OPA options on the Add-Ins ribbon (in Office 2007) when opened in Microsoft Word.
This problem can be caused by various factors.
Here are the top three troubleshooting steps to try to recover from this situation.
    1. With your project open in Oracle Policy Modeling, run Update Oracle Policy Templates from the Tools menu. This will attempt to make sure the correct Word template is attached to each project Word document that is not currently excluded from the build. Open a Word document to see if the toolbar/ribbon is now displayed correctly. If not, continue to step 2.
    2. Try changing the UI language for your project. To do this, choose Options, from the Tools menu in Oracle Policy Modeling. Select Environment. Selet General. Under Authoring UI Language, choose a language other than your preferred UI language, and click OK. Then repeat these steps to revert to your preferred language. Open a Word document to see if the toolbar/ribbon is now displayed correctly. If not, continue to step 3.
    3. Open one of the Word documents in your Policy Modeling project. Run the macro UpdateToolbar: In Word 2007, choose the View ribbon, then select Macros/View Macros, highlight the UpdateToolbar macro, then choose Run.
    Does this resolve your issue?

    Hi,
The event log in your posting is a general error event which occurs when application stops responding. Please make sure the latest patches and service packs are installed for your Outlook 2007.
Please also restart Outlook in safe mode(Start > Run, type Outlook /safe and Enter) to check whether Outlook 2007 is still not responding or not.

  • RoboHelp X5 compatability with MS Office 2007?

Will our existing RoboHelp HTML X5.0.2 (Build 606) projects continue to function properly when our company switches to the MicroSoft Office 2007 suite?  Thanks in advance - obviously I'm not a techie...

Hi RonHyson and welcome to the RH community.
Word 2007 is not supported in RHX5. However you can still use RHX5 with Word 2007 installed provided you never want to use any of the word functionality. This includes use of the RH for Word application or (in the RH HTML application) the importing of Word documents or the Printed Documentation single source layout.
Note that if you install Office 2007 you will have to reinstall RHX5.

  • Does Office 2007 work with CVI automation

We've used Office with CVI with varying degrees of success over the years, typically to generate reports or to populate excel spreadsheets with measured data.
Now I'm running XP SP3 and Office 2007 with CVI 2009.
Office 2007 seems to be so significantly different from previos versions, I'm wondering if it's use is supported with CVI?
CVI 2009 still refers to "Excel2000.fp" for example, will it work with Excel 2007?  The help mentions that it will work with "Excel 2000 and later compatible versions".
In the past as I recall NI's position is "maybe, but if it doesn't, it's not our fault".
So I thought I'd ask and see what the experience has been.  I can install an older version of Office if need be.

FWIW, we have been using "excel2000.fp" for years (with a few thousand users) and it still seems fine for simple exporting of data to Excel 2007.
I think it all boils down to the Excel object model and whether there have been changes related to the functionality you wish to use.
