  • Updating flash player and still doesn't work.

Recently, my games on Facebook and Youtube stopped working and prompted me to upgrade my flash player.
It included the link to Adobe, as do all the sites that require it.
So, I did. It says install successful, but it doesn't work.   When I check to see if any version is installed, I see the red x.  Please help.
I'm using Windows XP  Version 2002 Service Pack 3
    I.E. 8  32 bit.
P.S.  I can use Firefox and Chrome, but I don't like the quality of how Flash Player runs on them.

Hi, I see from the other thread you commented on that the Kill-bit was your problem. Glad that worked for you:-)

  • I installed Adobe Flash Player but it doesn't work.

I installled Adobe Flash PLayer but it says I don't have it.
I installed 3 times and nothing. I don't know what to do.

Your above posted list of installed plugins shows that you have the Flash plugin.
You can verify that you have the Flash plugin for Firefox on the Adobe Flash Players Test Page.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
There is also security software (firewall) with features to block Flash content, so you may need to look there as well.

  • Tried installing new Flash Player but it doesn't work.

I went to view a video online and it said i needed an new version of Flash player so i clicked on the link and i downloaded the newest version.  I unistalled all of my old Adobe versions first.  It said installation complete but now EVERYTHING that used Flash before (Pandora, You Tube, Hulu, etc) doesn't work.  I keep trying to uninstall and re-install but nothing changes.  My adobe reader works, but not Adobe Flash. HELP!!

Hi, You didn't say what operating system or browser(s) you are using. If you are using IE, go to your manage add ons
and look for Shockwave Flash Object..and see if Flash10e.ocx is listed with it and it is Enabled. If you use FF, find the plug-in SWF and it is and enabled.
You can also check your Flash files to see if all of the old FP was removed and the new was installed.

I just got my MacBook, and I want to watch YouTube videos. I installed Adobe Flash Player, but when I go to the videos, YouTube says that I still need to install Adobe Flash Player. I have done this multiple times, and nothing has happened. Thanks.

Go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility and select your volume and then select Repair Permissions.  Same directions are also in the OS Mac Help Menu.

  • UpDated Flash Player last week doesn't work previous ver worked fine

I updated last week when it prompted me to, now websites that i used to use will not work. it just gives me a blank area where the flash animation should be. I have figured out that it has something to do with my firewall. When i disable the firewall flash works with it running it doesn't. I have tested this with . I don't understand why this ver is causing my firewall to block it. I have all the permission i need and the install was run as admin. I have tried reinstalls and using C/Windows/System32/Macromedia/Flash. I think i just need to change a setting on my firewall but i can't find where the addon is since i'm using firefox, i wish i never updated

I have the same problem...I downloaded around noon today and have been trying to figure out all day what is going on.  You're situation sounds identical to mine.  I was going to play a game that I play regularly and I got in just fine this morning and then at noon it told me to download an updated version of Flash Player I did and it still doesn't work.  I really hope someone can answer the question.

  • Trying to install updated Flash Player but after installing 51%  message pops up saying quit Safari,

I downloaded and clicked the dmg to install latest update.  It got to 51% complete and then stopped instructing me to close Safari.  Sarfari was already closed and not running.  Hit retry and got same message.  Tried a reboot and install but still got same message.  Don't understand why it says close when it is already closed?

It's probably still running somewhere in the background.  If you are on a Mac, use the Activity Monitor to close running applications.  On Windows use the Task Manager.

    Hi Blanca rey
You Can try Uninstalling Flash Player using - Uninstall Flash Player | Mac OS
and Use the Offline Flash Player Installer for Mac (Safari and Firefox) from here - Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac
    Hope it helps,
While you try the above suggestion,  can you also share the Version of Mac on which you are updating Flash Player and how are you doing it?

  • I have downloaded and installed Adobe Flash Player, but it was installed to a "disk image".  I don't know what this is and I cannot see anything that requires Flash Player.  What am I doing wrong?

I have downloaded and installed Adobe Flash Player, but it was installed to a "disk image".  I don't know what that is, but I cannot view anything that requires flash player.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help, but that didn't do any good either.  I have been double clicking from the download files, double clicking on the "install adobe flash player", closing the anti virus, closing Safari, watching the install progress and clicking finish.  It indicates that "flash player" is installed, but every time I try to view something requiring flash player, it tells me I must download it.  It shows up in the "system preference"  and from there I can make some changes, but it still won't let me view anything requiring "flash player".   It does not show up in my apps like Adobe Reader does.  It shows up in the "downloaded files" section of "Finder".  I'm getting really perplexed over my inability to get this right.

Forgot to say this is with Safari.  On Firefox it works perfectly.  Thank you!
