Installing Both Versions of Tetris by EA?

Hello
I recently purchased both versions of Tetris by EA ("Tetris" and "Tetris - New"). However, whenever I have one installed and then I install the other, after the reboot required the first one has been uninstalled. I've also tried setting the application permissions for each of them while installed so they can't interact with other apps, but that didn't help.
I was just wondering why this is happening, and if there's any way for me to have both games installed at once? They have different features and playing styles, so it'd be able to have both without having to reinstall the other every time I want to play it.
Thank you. and sorry if I'm just being a nub, or if this is in the wrong section.
P.S. I have a Blackberry Bold 9900 with 7.1 installed, if that makes any difference.
THANKS.

Hmm, quite interesting.
Since these apps are from the same vendor, it's recommended you contact them to investigate this issue. It might be a compatibility issue with both the apps.

  • Please Help - Cannot install both versions of Garageband

I am operating on Yosemite and have Garageband 10, but I need to download and install 5.1 (Garageband '09) in order to retrieve certain loops that came with that version that are important to me for certain tracks that I have been working on.
After downloading the '09 version from Apple for free I ran into an error when attempting to install it on my computer. It says "This update does not need to be installed. A newer version of Garageband is already installed."
So that's it. I can't figure out how get around this error.
Also, I am assuming that by reinstalling '09 I will be able to retrieve the old loops that I need, unless someone else knows where/how to get these. They were part of the original set that came with the program.
Of course I could just delete the newer version, but I would rather not if I can help it, you know?
    Anyway, thank you!

the problem is that you didn't D/L GBv5 ('09), you D/Led the update for version 5 to v5.1, not the entire v5 installation.
you'd need to either restore GBv5 from a backup, or buy a copy of GBv5 (or v6) from someplace like eBay or Amazon (it's not available for free from Apple)

    Hi Folks,
    For example,
    1. Is it possible at all to install xcelsius 2008 sp3 and xcelsius 2008 sp5 on the same box?
    2. Is it recommended to install xcelsius 2008 sp3 and xcelsius 2008 sp5 on the same box? If not, any known issues that i may face.
There is an urgent need for me to install both versions on the same box.
Lastly, if anyone has tried doing this, pls post your experience.
    Thanks in advance!
    Deepu.

    Hi Arijit,
It is also not recommended to have xcelsius 2008 and Dashboards 4.0 on same system.
I saw an issue where these were installed on same system and we got some error related to keydecoder.dll
Well it might works sometimes. I have seen people do it. But really not recommended.
@deepu : install the dashboards of same version as that of your BusinessObjects enterprise.

  • Can I install both Snow Leopard and Windows 7 on the same version of VMWare 5?

Even though I am running Apple OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.3 on my new 2013 iMac, I have just installed VMWare's "Fusion 5" so I can have Windows 7 installed on the "Fusion 5, for limited usage needs.
I also would like to have a running version of Snow Leopard available to run my large collection of original Lynda.com training DVD's and CD's ... which unfortunately, now only allow the Lynda.com GUI player to operate in (and up to) Snow Leopard (at least this is what the Tech folks at Lynda.com have told me).
Since Lynda.com is no longer producing any or their training programs on CD or DVD any longer, and because they have stopped supporting their training programs to run on Lion and above, I will have to have a version of Snow Leopard installed to run these training programs, and still be able to run them using the Lynda.com GUI player.
    So here's my dilemma:
    1.  Can I install both a version of Snow Leopard OS on my "VMWare "Fusion 5" .... along with a running version of Windows 7 on       the same "Fusion 5"?
    2.  Do I install only the Windows 7 on the VMWare, and find some other "device" to run a version of Snow Leopard off of?
    3.  Do I consider using "BootCamp", in conjunction with "Fusion 5", to get access to both Snow Leopard and Windows 7?
Has anyone had any experience installing BOTH a previous (older) version of Apple OSX  ... AND ... a Windows OS version on one installed version of VMWare "Fusion"?
    OR
Any suggestions on how to set up having access to both Snow Leopard and Windows 7 .... while keeping OS Mountain Lion as my main OS?

    mende1
Thanks ... the "You have to purchase Snow Leopard Server" I knew about, and a few days ago I just ordered a copy from the Apple Store:
    Snow Leopard Server - Ordered at: 1-800-692-7753 ... OR ... 1-866-254-8313
I asked for Apple Snow Leopard Server (Model MC588Z/A (SLSVR)
    "Unlimited Client License"
It was around $25.50 (USD) with sales tax and shipping (NYS).
One thing though ... when you mention:  "you should make two virtual machines".
Not being too familiar with "Fusion 5" yet, Is setting up "two machine" all done under one installed version of "Fusion 5"?
Would you have "links" to any "Fusion 5" installation instructions/info for setting up the
"two machines" (one for Snow Leopard and one for Windows 7)?

  • Install multiple version of SQL Server on a same machine, both with default instance?

We have an almost idle server (windows server 2008 R2) with SQL Server 2008 Enterprise with default instance. We would like to port all the data, install SQL Server 2012 developer edition and use it as testing server. Is that possible we still choose default
instance name on 2012 developer version? Do we have to shutdown or uninstall the 08 Enterprise? If we keep both versions running, does SQL server 2012 have to choose a named instance?  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

There can only be a single default instance and multiple named instances.

  • Photoshop CS4 - How to install both   64 and 32 bit versions on XP 64

    Hello-
When I installed Photoshop CS4 along with the other apps on CS4 Web Premium I thought that both versions of PShop would be installed by default, but that was not the case with my installation; only the 64 bit version was installed.
Now I would like to install the 32 bit version but when I try to do it through setup I am unable to check the box. There is a list of "Installed Products" and then "Available Products"; the only thing under "Available Products" is Photoshop CS4, but I am unable to check the box.
Any ideas on how I can install the 32-bit version? I want it for the GPU acceleration and to use certain plugins.
    Thanks,
    Paul

a)re: built for XP64 - note that I said "gave the [erroneous] impression," meaning that someone could plausibly infer that PSCS4 64 will not run reliably on XP 64, which is categorically untrue. I am NOT saying that there are not people who have had problems and will continue having problems with PS CS4 on XP 64.* However, I am personally attesting - having worked with PS CS on my XP 64 system a lot since buying it this week, including continuously since I reinstalled last night ( I tend to work at night) - that PS CS4 runs gloriously on XP 64, INCLUDING the OpenGL stuff once you patch the reg via the link I posted (which, by the way, would have been a valid answer to my question).
On that note, telling me stuff that I already know is NOT a valid answer. Further, as we have seen, my running this on XP 64, as opposed to Vista, was irrelevant, if only (but not really only) because that is not the system to which my question referred. How did telling me about Vista help? If you don't know what to do with XP 64, then you don't know....I didn't know either, at least when I posed my question. Your reference to Vista was POINTLESS.
    b) re: installing to non-default directory. I have been doing this for so long that I can't remember not doing it, and I have never, ever had a problem like this, and I do have other dual-bit depth apps. This should be a non-issue. If I thought it was relevant I would have mentioned it, but in light of what I just said, it did not seem to be a factor. Crikey- CS3 is in that same directory! Why would Adobe's installer get confused? They are the same structures, i.e. %disk%:\Program Files, %disk%:\Program Files (x86). If you knew things that might cause my problem - you didn't-you might have asked about my install.... Instead, you told me what anyone who had read my question would already know that I knew, namely that there would be two different locations for the two different versions. Incidentally, and here's good intel here, when you do get them both installed, you get BOTH versions listed in your Adobe CS4 whatever edition programs folder. Right there! So, if you had known what you were on about, you would have realized that there was NO WAY that PS 32 was mysteriously hiding somewhere. This is another clue that you knew nothing about the subject you were purportedly answering!
So why, why, why am I picking on you? Because there was a time when you could post a simple question on the internets and some helpful soul would take the time to actually read and consider the question before giving an answer that, even if not ultimately fruitful, was at least in the freaking ballpark. But those days are gone** and even though I know that and I expect nothing, I posted anyway, and along came you, with two heaping helpings of SQUAT in terms of useful advice. What the hey? Are you that bored that you just dole out crappy advice? Watch more TV or something!
    Jeez!
    Thanks,
    Paul
*My relevant system specs are as follows, for those who may want to give XP 64 a shot: and/or are having problems:
XP 64 SP2 ( there is no SP3 for 64 and parenthetically I will note that CS4 on XP 32 SP2 runs fine even though you get a warning on install that it is supposed to have SP3 installed)
    8 GB RAM
AMD 64X2 5600 on AMD/ATI 780G Chipset with dual integrated ATI 3200 Graphic plus an extra ATI 3400 card running three different monitors (2 on the 3200 and one on the 3400). On my setup PS likes to enable and actually work with the OpenGL stuff when I launch either/or the 64 or 32 bit version on the monitor that is attached to the 3400 card. After that I can drag the app anywhere I want and it works.
** in July, as myself and my girlfriend were getting ready for our vacation, we posted on a location-specific travel group to ask if people knew if the hotel we were staying at had a safe for our laptop. We got like thirteen responses, all more or less to the effect that we should leave the laptop at home when we go on vacation. Not ONE answer about the hotel! WTF???

  • Why is my Photoshop CS4 not installing both 64 and 32 bit versions?

    Hello,
I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit.
I purchased and downloaded Photoshop CS4 Extended and it installed as a 64 bit program. Now I need a 32 bit version also (for some Nik plugins), but the installer didn't install the 32 bit version (it would be in Program Files (x86). It should have installed both as a default.
Also, I didn't change the default pathing as I know that can screw the install up.
I ran the install program again and it runs through the complete install without giving me the Options Panel to select which version 64 or 32 (or both) to install.
Should I completely uninstall PS and reinstall to see if I get the install Options Panel?  Other Ideas?
    Thanks!
    Chris

"it is not possible to just install the 32 bit version without an uninstall?"
It's a great idea, but I don't know how. I have the downloaded the PS CS4 file from Adobe that I used to originally install PS. I re-ran this install program and it reinstalled the same 64bit program that I already have; it never gave me any options as to which version to install.
I'm think I'll just have to de-activate, uninstall, reinstall to get the PS install Options Panel.

    JimHess wrote:

Jim, when PS CC 2014 became available, it was installed by the CC App alongside the existing PS CC app, rather than replacing it. For new subscribers who joined after PS CC 2014 was released, that's the only version that was installed (though the option to install PS CC is available via the Previous Version function of the CC App). Thus on my Windows system I have both versions installed automatically (because I started to subscribe before CC 2014 was released), whereas on my newer MBP only PS CC 2014 was installed because I installed it after CC 2014 was released.

  • I was unaware that I needed to uninstall the older Acrobat Reader before installing the newwer XI. Am I now able to go back and delete both versions then reinstall the XI?

I have Windows 7, and an older Abode Reader, I've just installed the newer Adobe Reader XI, but did not uninstall the older Adobe Reader.  Is it too late to uninstall both versions of Adobe Readers, then reinstall the Adobe Reader XI?

If you upgrade from one Reader version to the next (e.g. Reader X to XI) it is usually not necessary to uninstall the previous version.
If you skip several versions (e.g. Reader 8 to Reader XI) it is recommended to uninstall the old version first.
    My recommendation for now:
    uninstall both versions using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
reinstall the latest Reader from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • I have 6.0.2 desktop firefox, and want install latest version(11) but keep both

I have 6.0.2 desktop firefox, and want install latest version(11.0) but '''also want keep both versions''', what's the procedure?
    may run both same time?
how add a second language total:2:ru/en in firefox 11...?

    Hi lse123,
The first thing to explain is that older versions are not secure and not supported, therefore they increase the risk to your personal data and your computer system. Of course if you are running on a secure intranet, &/or have bare metal backup procedures in place that may not be a concern.
Secondly running multiple versions is probably considered an advanced topic, and not something the standard user would need to do, but it is all relatively easy and simple to do. Just take care, back up bookmarks & settings and be careful what you do with profiles, until you fully understand them.
You may well decide to keep IE (for instance for Windows updates) and then use one of the Firefox versions as a default browser. (will be associated with the .html file types for instance) The ''-no-remote'' command line argument is used to start a further instance of Firefox and allow it to run simultaneously. This option is not used for the version chosen as the default browser.
To do this successfully you need separate unique profiles for each Firefox version. Remember bookmarks & settings are contained in these profiles. Take care with profiles, use only empty folders for creating the new profiles (otherwise deleting profiles will destroy other data) and it is probably sensible at least initially not to delete or rename profiles, choose distinctive names (maybe not the version number, that could change if you upgrade - remember he 6 week rapid release cycle.) Presumably you are also aware of the Aurora, Beta & Nightly channels.
You will need to choose the custom install option when installing, or you will just overwrite each install in turn.

  • Problem with installing both 32 and 64bit Java7u45

    Hi all.
For some reson we need to install Java7u45 because of an inhouse made application only runs on java7u45 32bit,
Now to my issue, we hava about 200 windows7 x64 machines who need both 32 and 64 bit java7u45.
If i install the 32bit the inhouse appliction works, but then other third party application will not run (SoapUI, Eclipse).
If i install both 64 and 32 bit the inhouse application will not run, i get this error message "NativeSwing[1]: Caused by: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Cannot load 32-bit SWT libraries on 64-bit JVM"
In the Java Control Panel only the 64bit java shows up, and if i try to add javaw.exe from C:\program files (x86)\java\bin it will add the correct line, and i looks ok until i close the java control panel and open it, it will still only show the 64bit java.
So is there anyway to change the default 64bit java to 32bit and make it stick?
    Thank you.
