Installing Java Runtime Environment

I have a large number of Windows machines that need to have a specific version of the JRE deployed to them.
Is there a way to give the setup application some switches so that it doesn't make you accept a licence agreement and ask lots of questions?

There is an option of 'silent' install for JRE AFA i remember. I guess it must be a paramter passed to the installation file. Look up these forums or google for 'JRE silent installation'.

Most likely, you have a web plugin that depends on the Java runtime distributed by Apple, such as the Facebook video calling plugin or the "NexDef" plugin for watching baseball streams. If you no longer need the plugin, remove it. Otherwise, install Java.

  • Install java runtime environment

    Hello;
I am installing the "java 2 runtime environment, se v1.4.2_13", and i set it's path as "c:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2\javaws" in the enviroment variable.
Could anyone tell how i can known i install it properly, please.
At the movement, i am writing a code to connect database with java code by using
SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver 1.1, it always tell me that it could not load the driver. And i am try to make sure i install the java runtime environment properly.

First try something simple like HelloWorld, that doesn't depend on other classes. If that works then you know you have everything setup correct.
If you then have problems with the driver, make sure it is in the class path.

  • Detect and install java runtime environment using javascript

hi, i'm a flash developer and i only use javascript to embed my movies in html, i've search the web and found some answers but i can't seem to understand it very well maybe because i don't have that much time to learn it. please if you have any script that can detect JRE and install it if it's not installed share it to me. that would be a great help. thanks in advance. :D

But it is to do with Java and some people here may

like to.Yes some might know the answer, but I think you will find the answer faster if you google, or ask in a javascript forum.

  • I am trying to install the "Java Runtime Environment" plugin. It is continuously showing as not available. What can I do to get round this?

I am asked to install this update by an educational website.
    The sequence of events is:
    1. Message appears at interactive site on page "A plugin is needed to display this content." along with an Install Plugin button.
2.Pressing the install button brings up a dialogue box, "Plugin Finder Service" with "Java Runtime Environment" ticked.
    3. I press "Next" to install. New dialogue box comes up showing "Java Runtime Environment" as "Not available" and states that no plugins were installed.
    4. The only availablre option "finish," closes the dialogue box.
I have tried following instructions in help but these always bring me back to the same process. I have downloaded the most recent Java software and nothing has changed.
Any ideas to successfully install "Java Runtime Environment." Maybe there's a successor plug-in.
    All help gratefully received.
    Thanks,
    Andrew Bramley

Hello Andrew, try download [https://www.java.com/en/download/faq/whatis_java.xml Java Runtime Environment (JRE)] from the next link : https://www.java.com/en/download/ . If you can not then try the manual way from the next link : https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp (select the Windows Offline, filesize: 28.0 MB). In.... general, try to use the official sites when you install Java or flash etc.
    thank you

  • AutoVue for Agile PQM - Java Runtime Environment Question

    Greetings,
An end user is attempting to view/open attachments within Agile Product Quality Management (PQM); we use Agile PQM 9.3.1.
When clicking on an attachment file, a pop-up screen opens with a javascript alert, prompting the user with, "Please Install Java Runtime Environment." After clicking "OK", user is redirected to java download website. User downloads and installs the update.
After rebooting the machine, we attempt to access the attachment file again within PQM and receive the same error message, "Please Install Java..."
After installing the first java update, the user is now on the following java version:
    Java Plug-in 10.55.2.14
Using JRE version 1.7.0_55-b14 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
Do we need to install the second update to be able to view attachments within Agile PQM via AutoVue?
I can't test the java updates myself because there are some legacy Oracle apps that I won't be able to support if I update my java.
    Thanks in advance,
    William

You might want to post the question to the Agile forum
The popup you see seems to be tied to Agile code itself and not AutoVue
AutoVue will work on Java 7u55
But you are running Agile, so you will need to make sure the rest of the apps are confirmed with 7u55
You also need to review Java update guidelines, by default you will be always prompted to install the latest java update

  • Installed Java Runtime and Perian without authentication prompt

OSX LION 10.7.3 MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz i7 Late 2011
It was my understanding (and experience thus far) that any changes to the operating system, including the addition of new applications, would prompt admin authorization and require a password.  I recently installed Jave Runtime Environment and Perian without the required authentication.
I restarted my machine and downloaded and installed Chrome as well.
    Any ideas?

Only if you weren't logged in as an admin user. Very few require authentication.

  • Java Runtime Environment 6.0 update 11  NOT loading Java Applet

As soon as I have installed Java Runtime Environment 6.0 update 11, my web based applications Applet is not loading. The applet only loads after minimize and the maximize my IE 6.0 Browser. As soon as I uninstalled (removed) Java Runtime Environment 6.0 update 11 from my system, everything works fine.
I have Java Runtime Environment 6.0 update 3 and Java Runtime Environment 6.0 update 5 on my system. Please help to find a fix for this issue.
    Thanks

Many of these strange browser problems can be solved by launching the applet using webstart. Is there any reason this applet has to be embedded in a browser window?

  • How do I get rid of java runtime environment?

I have tried downloading it and following the instructions and I can't seem to figure it out. I have the 10.10 OS X Yosemite software.
It says I need to install java runtime environment to view this web content. I have tried this already.

Most likely, you have either the Facebook video calling plugin or the "NexDef" plugin for watching baseball streams. Both depend on the Java runtime distributed by Apple. If you no longer need the plugin, remove it. Otherwise, install Java.

I keep getting a pop up on  my new Yosemite 10.10 Mac that says I have to install Java Runtime Environment to see web content.  I get it when I'm not even on the web.  How do I get rid of it?   Is it something that I should be installing?  Are there any downsides to it?  Thank you for any help you can give me.

  • Does the java 1.4.2 sdk install the Java Runtime Environment twice?

I just installed this and I noticed that it appears I have two copies of the JRE one in C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2 and one in C:\j2sdk1.4.2\jre\
The contents of both folders look identical to me. Did the SDK install two copies? Did one copy come with Windows XP or Service Pack 1? In Add/Remove Programs there is one entry for the Java Runtime Environment and one for the SDK. I'd like to get rid of one of the copies of the JRE if possible. Thanks,
    Ollie

The copy in Program Files is likely the Java plug-in used with your web browser. I only have 1.3.1 installed so I can't positively confirm your 1.4 installation. Under Control Panels, you should have a Java Plug-in control.
