Installing PS on a third PC

I have installed PS with my ID but have become a new PC. Therefore PS is deleted from one of the old PC´s and I have then tried to installl PS on the new PC, but a dialogbox tells mee that it is not possible to do this. Will I have to stop my ID and start up with a new ID so that I still can run PS on two computers?

This depends a bit on which version of Photoshop you have (I am assuming pre CC - as within CC you can just tell the system that you are no longer using the previous PC).
The problem would appear to be that you "deleted" Photoshop - before doing that you should have deactivated it from the computer. Otherwise the licensing servers have no way of knowing that you aren't still using that copy.
If the above is the case you will need to talk to Adobe Customer Support and ask them to reset your activation count.

  • Installing Lightroom 4 plugins (third party)

I am having the darndest time installing lightroom 4 plugins. Steps I did:
    1) Unzipped plugin Folder
    2) Went to file-plugin manager-and add plugin
    3) Found the plugin on my computer I wanted to install
    4) Hit "add"
    5) It won't add, it tells me there's an error occurred while attempting to load this plugin,
I went to Adobe Exchange for these plugins, yes they are free plugins.
    I have Windows 7.
I am truly confused on how to upload these plugins. I read and read, from what most people say I am doing it right however it's not working.
Any helps or tips or even solutions would be wonderful. Thank you so much.

The transitions in FCP are the same. Transitions are not keyframeable, clips and filters are keyframeable. There might be some third party transitions. You could try google.

  • Installing CS4 on a third computer

We recently took 2 computers that had CS4 running on them off line because MicroSoft no longer supports the XP op sys that they were using. We have a laptop with CS4 loaded but deactivated and a new Dell desk top newly loaded with CS4 with no problems. I am trying to load CS4 onto my wife's laptop as the third computer but it will not load. Help!

When I try to run the CD after clicking on "Install CS4" the machine starts to run and then just stops. No error messages or anything.

  • I just re-installed fonts from a third disk in my Create Suite 5, but can't find CLASSIC CURSIVE FONTS in my selctions.

I am in the process of re-installing ADOBE CREATIVE SUITE 5 DESIGN PREMIUM because I had to change my hard drive. I haven't done this for years. There is a disk that came with the Suite called "CONTENT." It contains FONTS. I followed the instructions to INSTALL, but do not seem to have a single CLASSIC CURSIVE FONT now. Can anyone help? I had about 3 of these in the past.

Sorry I didn't see your response earlier. Here are the screen shots you requested:
#1 Is what appears on my screen when I put the disk in.
#2 Is the screen after I selected "English" as my language
#3 Is the screen I got after selecting "Goodies"
#4 Is the screen I got after selecting "Fonts"
#5 Is the list of fonts I get after opening the folder "Adobe"
#6 Is the step to install the fonts: "Select all, Right-click and select "Install."
These all seem to appear in my font choices for InDesign, however, I am missing the three fancy script options I used to use all the time. The kind you use for invitations and such.
Here is a screen shot of my InDesign fonts. In the past, there were two such fonts towards the end of my font list that are no longer there. I really don't seem to have any traditional script-like fonts in my list anymore.
    Are these images even legible?
Thanks for your help. I look forward to your reply.

  • Installing older CS on third PC?

    Hi
I´m planning to upgrade to CS5 Master COllection ASAP. Untill now I have installed CS4 Design Premium on both my Desktop and my Laptop - as it is possible to install on two seperate machines. Now I want to buy a better laptop, but still want to have the opportunity to make things on the old one from time to time. Is it possible (and legal!!!) for me to install CS5 Master Collection on both my Desktop and my new laptop and then at the same time keep my installation of CS4 Design Premium on my old laptop? In other words - what does happen to the older versions ones has got - does they still worl as seperate products or is it only possible to have one suite running at the time, and after upgrading the older one will not work anymore?
I gues a silly question, but I just wanna know before I start installing/uinstalling anything from my old laptop.
    Thanks in advance!

  • If I purchase Adobe Standard, how many computers can I install it onto? And is there any way of buy an additional subscription? i.e. if it can only be installed onto two, is it possible to purchase a third installation?

The company I work for are looking to purchase Adobe Standard, how many computers can this be installed onto? We need it on three computers so if it is only possible to install it onto two is it possible to install it onto a third computer without having to buy the software twice?
    Thanks

    Hi There,
We would like to inform you that you can just activate 2 machines with one subscription, however, you can just use one at a time.
If you wish to use the 3 machine, then, you would have to purchase another subscription with a different email address.
You would need another email address, because the activation is done via email address and more than two activation on 1 email is not possible.
Please revert if you need any more information on this.
    Thanks,

  • Problem installing third party software

I have encountered an issue whereby on trying to install downloaded upgrades to third party software I am asked to insert a disk entitled with my user name. At first I put this down to dodgy software, but have now had the same issue with installing Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.0. The installation software appears to be something called iNosso.
Essentially the installation gets as far as stating "This software was successfully installed" but before coming up with the summary window comes up with:
*Please insert the "username" disc to*
    *continue installation.*
You have chosen to install software that requires this
    disc.
(username isn't actually shown what is shows is presumably the local name I have given to the computer).
No such disc exists and have tried the original installation discs for 10.5 but to no avail. I end up force quitting the installer but am concerned that by doing so I may corrrupt the installation and build up problems for myself going forward.
Has anyone else encountered this issue and if so is there a fix?
    Thanks in advance.

Allan, I had hoped not to have to go through the steps you suggest as one of the reasons for doing Migration Assistant was to avoid re-installing all my applications and all the relevant license information. Also note that my old apps are running fine it is just third party installers that appear to be the issue. As a test I ran the Apple installer loading some additional apps that came with the computer with no issues. I would also add that all my applications old and new appear to be running without issue. Indeed even those apps affected by this installation issue (incl Acrobat Reader 9.0) seem to run normally so it does appear to be an annoying glitch in the installation that simply stops the automatic completion of the process.
My nervousness however is that something more sinister is going on in the background that I am not aware of that may affect the performance of the computer going forward.
However from both yours and Barry's comments it would appear that this is not a common fault therefore is likely to be peculiar to the way I have set things up so in order to resolve I will have to try either re-installation of everything per Barry or a re-installation of apps as you suggest. Now I just need someone to find me the time!!
If anyone else has come across this issue before and found an easier resolution I would be eternally grateful. Thank you Allan and Barry for the speed of your responses and your suggestions.

  • Third Party Software installed by 7.5

During the upgrade to 7.5 Skype for Windows desktop, I only realized that by not paying attention to the defaulted checkboxes at each step of the Skype installer, that I was installing one of eight third party products.  Each of the uninstallers for each of theses products, in turn, had defaulted checkboxes that in turn reinstalled the other partner products.
Even after dilligence de-installing, I had to go to the registry to identify some uninstalled components that were still launched at startup.  Apps in include a mac-desktop launcher (with a PacMan game), PC optimisation tool, and a very intruisive web-ad launching tool that hijacked every open/close and action within IE.  I've not seen anything like it since the late 90s.
Two hours of cleanup later, I am wondering if this is a common experience, and now an expected behaviour to expect from Microsoft to support the otherwise free Skype application.  The experience (embarassingly I am quite technically adept) is tantamount to having installed replicating spyware.
Any similar experience or is this an isolated issue?
    Cheers.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Skype's installer nor updater comes with any of that software.  You had to have obtained the installer through a 3rd party site/update service you have installed on your computer.  In the future download the software only from Skype.com
    http://www.skype.com/en/download-skype/skype-for-windows/downloading/
The below are the options you will typically see in the Skype installer, nothing else.  If you saw something else, it wasn't the Skype installer.

  • I don't have a dual-layer drive, can I install Tiger or Leopard?

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard come on what appear to be larger than 4.7 GB discs. This does not mean you need a dual layer drive to install them. Some Macs capable of installing Tiger or Leopard came with a built-in CD-RW, or CD-ROM drive. For those a compatible Firewire DVD drive for booting Mac OS X can work instead of replacing the internal drive. Tiger also came in a limited edition Media Exchange Program CD installer package, which you may be able to find in the open market. The limitation for each is dependant on other hardware:
    1. If your Mac shipped new with no Firewire, you may be able to install Tiger a special third party addon software known as XPostFacto.
    2. If your Mac shipped new with less than 867 Mhz built-in processor (including dual processor 800 MHz or less), you may be able to install Leopard with a special third party addon software known as Leopard Assist.
    3. If your Mac shipped with a processor upgrade card installed, and #2 is true, a firmware update may be available from the processor upgrade card vendor that allows Leopard's installation.
    4. Tiger needs at least 256 MB of RAM.
Leopard needs at least 512 MB of RAM.
If you have a lot of dashboard widgets, you may need to increase RAM to improve performance on either operating system. The RAM needs to follow Apple's specs to ensure smooth operation. Only get RAM with a lifetime warranty.
    5. Officially you need for Tiger:
"At least 3 GB of free disk space; 4 GB if you install the XCode 2 Developer Tools" from: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1514
And officially for Leopard you need:
"9 GB of available disk space or more" from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3759
However, I would add to that if your hard drive doesn't have at least 15% of the drive free in addition to that, you may experience significant slowing down in the operating system function. This number has been arbitrarily discovered by many users.
    6. When installing Tiger or Leopard, if your machine shipped with Panther (10.3) or earlier, be sure to get the retail Tiger or retail Leopard.
The Tiger installer is a san serif gray and white X with a spotlight on the center of the X on a black background.
The Leopard installer is a san serif black and gray X on a pink galaxy centered on a black background.

  • How do I move PSE 9 from desktop to laptop after I install new PSE11?

Just received PSE 11,  want it on my desktop and then move PSE 9 from desktop to laptop?  It there a sequence that will prevent problems?

First make a full backup in PSE 9 using the organizer's backup command, then install PSE 9 on the laptop and restore the backup there. If all is well, you can then deactivate PSE 9 on the desktop if you don't want it there anymore (not required, unless you've already installed it on a third computer). When you install PSE 11 it should find and update your catalog on that for you.
If you don't use organizer, it doesn't really matter how you do it.
