Mixing ram SIZES in Late 2013 i7 27" iMac
Just assume all ram sticks are the same specs.......
Can I mix ram SIZES in Late 2013 i7 27" iMac? I.E. : two - 4 GB and two - 8 GB?You should try to balance RAM out as equally as possible between available slots.
For example, 2 4 4 4, 2 2 4 4, 2 2 2 4, but not 2,4,8,0. And where you only have two slots, 2 2, 2 4, 4 4, and so on. -

Edited by: Ramesh Sammiti on Oct 26, 2009 10:54 AMAs this is production system, you better go with SAP's recommendations.
You do Zero memory (Default memory parameters) open an OSS message and probably
you can do quick sizer modeling also.

I recently (14 days ago) purchased a Mac Book Pro 15.4 and increased the processor to 2.7 Quad Core Intel Core i7, increased memeoty to 16 GB 1600MHz DDR3l SDRAM, increased the storage to 512 Flash Storage. Today (10/22) an New Mac Book Pro was announce and release for purchase. This new laptop has 16 GB RAM and 512 Storage as defualt options without having to pay a premium.
After contacting the customer service I was presented with two options - since the customer service representatives/ supervisors/ leads could not locate the price differences they could not tell me how much the credit should actually have been.
1. Return the computer, have the monies returned to me and repurchase a laptop with the new standars (aproxx 2 -3 week process).
2. Take a $150.00 credit
I can say that the memory was probably $200.00 and the storage was probably $300.00.
Is there a way to get the full refund for hardware configurations that are now default?
If I had waited another 2 weeks I could have save some money and get a better video card and processor. The release of the New Mac Book Pro was not a known/ planned event.
Can you help Apple?
Thank you!You have also posted in the Mac Pro forum and not the MacBook forum. You may find many other similar experiences there. For future reference it's worth noting forthcoming upcoming Apple events and checking out some of the Apple related websites. You will then be able to make an educated guess re what is about to be updated and what is likely to remain the same. It's now a good time to buy an iPhone and all those recently updated MacBook Pro and iPad models. Less good time to buy iMacs.More detailed info here.

Im sorry. I'm from Argentina and I'll be in New York and Boston during the first week of November. I'd like to buy a Mac Book Air 13,3 with core i7 processor 8MG Ram and 512 flash storage. I'll pick it up at the Boylston Store in Boston. I'd like to place an order for the time I'll be there
Call the Boylston Apple Store in Boston...they may have stock.

Instance RAM after IDES Ehp4 Installation (DB2)
I installed the IDES system with the Instance RAM of 3000 MB. I feel now that I should have allotted more since I have 8GB of RAM on an i7 processor.
So my question is what should I increase it to? I am think of doing around 6000MB AND most importantly how do I do it?!
Please be simple and elaborate in your instructions as I am new to this. Thank you.Hi,
Make sure both DB and SAP servers fit in 8G of RAM if you have installed them on a single machine.
Understand the SAP parameters and effects of adjusting them.

To check RAM size via java program
Hi,
Please let me know how to find the RAM size of a machine using java program.
Thanks & Regards,
Nasrin.NHi,
I've done that for disk space with JNative, take a look at http://sourceforge.net/project/screenshots.php?group_id=156421
I think it's easy to implement it for RAM.

There is a UNIX line command for Core audio RAM size addressing?
Hi all
There is a Terminal line command that allow me to addressing more ram size in the Logic AUDIO preferences?
I greatly appreciate your help
Thanks in Advance!
Gfermusic wrote:
please stay focused to that picture
I don't look for magician..
I know that there is terminal command for change setting about song backup count...
since Logic 8 the Project Backup has been fixed to 10...
I mentioned defaults in my first post. 'defaults' is the command line utility to set the maximum number of backups, and the key/value is clearly visible in the file, where I see no clearly identified key for the preference setting you seek.
so you can type 'man defaults' into terminal to read the manual for defaults.
Also in Logic 6 32bit application... and in Logic 7.2.3 (32bit application)
there is a setting that allow me to addressing 384Mb to the system core audio... and it is not a 64 bit apps.
Memory addressing != Memory allocating
I'm looking for a Terminal command that can rewrite Logic preferences files... in the same way as made for change the Song Backups number...
Please stay focused I don't need theoretical explaination..
I'm a Musician... I'm not a Developer...
BUT I Know.. for sure...I can adress 384Mb for core audio...
I need to bypass the automatic ram adressing only and strictly focused to achieve 384MB just for CORE AUDIO!!!
Right right right. I addressed that by typing:
you'd have insider info to use that utility for the intentions that you have in mind
If that preference exists, it is not public knowledge (to my knowledge). You would need to know a few things about the preference key/value to set or remove it.
So, yeah - my original post covered it all, to the best of my knowledge.

Instance RAM values at SAP instalation
Hello gurus
I'm installing the Central Instance of SAP R3 4.7 Enterprise Edition and I'm having some trouble to determine some memory values.
The system that I'm installing now is a training system and in a near future there will be another systems (DEV and QA) in the same host of this training system. In the installation, SAPINST asks me the value of Instance RAM (MB) and I don't know wich value I have to input.
The system have about 147 users and the operational system is Linux
The sapinst calculated the total memory of the host with 32176 Mb and swap as 62511 Mb
Some questions:
1) How can I calculate the value for Instance RAM? (I,ve tried SAP quicksizing but did not work for me)
2)There is some parameter in SAP (RZ11) that corresponds to this value at installation?
Thanks in advanceThe sapinst calculated the total memory of the host with 32176 Mb and swap as 62511 Mb
Having 32Gb of RAM, you need to make sure theres enough RAM for your DB. I would use 50% (The goods of 16Gb's) to start with. You can always tweak the Memory distribution after the installation via profile parameters.

How the Performance data depends on Number of CPU/ RAM size/ Hard Disk size
Hi,
I have started Performance testing (web test and Load tests) using VSTS 2012. I was analysing the VSTS results summary page.
I could not find a way by which we can find a co-relation between the Performance Result data Impacted by Server's Configuration such as
1- # of CPUs /Cores
2- RAM size
3- Hard Disk capacity
Could you help me out if we can reach to a point, through which we can say that, For eg - the Server Performance can be improved if we increase any of the dependent hardware configuration and Also, How the Hardware configuration impacts the Performance.
Thanks.
Thanks, Anoop SinghThe results show the performance with the hardware and software configuration
when the test is run. The results may show that some parts of the configuration are lightly loaded (and hence have plenty of spare capacity) whereas other parts are heavily loaded (and hence may be limiting the system performance).
To see the effect of changing the hardware or software configuration would need running exactly the same test with that changed configuration. Then the results of the two (or more) different runs can be compared. Microsoft has some details on how
to compare load test results. See

A68HM-E33 + AMD A4000. How change video RAM size?
I build PC on motherboard A68HM-E33 and CPU AMD A4000 with integrated videoadapter AMD Radeon HD 7480D and RAM DDR3-1600 4 Gb. Operation system Linux 64bit using only 3GB, Video RAM size 768MB. I need less then 128 MB
How change video RAM size in this motherboard BIOS?
Thanks. It does not appear that you can change VRAM size on that MB. I downloaded the manual and there was nothing in BIOS that even came close to allowing any changes for it.

Where do you find that number? -
Hello, What is the max RAM size to which an HP 15-d107TX note book be upgraded to? Sanjay
I found this info on THIS PAGE concerning the HP 15-d107TX The HP 15-d107TX (G8D80PA) is packed with a 2.4GHz Intel Core i3 processor from the fourth generation and based on HM86 Express chipset. It is assisted by a standard 4GB DDR3 RAM which runs at 1,600MHz and is further expandable up to 16GB via two SODIMM ports.

I need to increase the Instance Retrieval Size to 500000.
However, BPM warms that the maximum Instance Retrieval Size is 50000.
If it needs to be increase to larger than 50000, how to do it?
I am using BPM Enterprise 10.3.1 for WebLogic, Weblogic 10.3.0, and Oracle 11g.
Edited by: YE on Dec 15, 2009 10:01 AMYour question is vary vague. Are you referring to Instance Size, or Instance Retrieval...
BPM doesn't handle 50,000 instances very well... So they put that as the limit... I recommend keeping that number much lower (5k?)...
If you're talking about Instance size, and your instances are are over 50mb... you really need to refactor the code, and eliminate (or nullify) instance variables, consider separated variables (Dan has plenty of forum posts on separated variables). Instance size should always be kept to a minimum, and unless specifically needed, should be lower than 64kb....

RAM size limited to 2.5 GB (?)
Hi all,
I have a mainbaord P4M900M2-L (MS-7255 2.1) which worked good for a couple of months with one DIMM of type Corsair
VS2GB667D2 (2GB DDR2-667) installed.
Now I bought a second DIMM of same type.
The problem is:
As soon as I insert two of them the one in the second slot is only detected as a 512MB module.
When I swap positions the older module (now in 2nd slot) is detected as a 512MB (linux dmidecode).
As soon as I remove the module in the first slot the other one is detected as a 2048MB.
I think the DIMMs are ok, because the seem to work normal when only one is inserted.
memtest 1.70 address tests are ok, but only 2559MB are shown.
The board should support 4 GB according too

Can anybody tell me whats wrong here, please ?Quote from: RemusM on 27-July-08, 03:51:09
In this case Jack is right: your problem is a memory detection one.
Bad BIOS settings or buggy BIOS (but I doubt v5.6 is buggy).
What 'bad' BIOS settings could cause this ?
(I only played with voltage and timings so far.)
Quote from: RemusM on 27-July-08, 03:51:09
Also, I don't remember if the VIA P4M900 chipset is able to control DS (double sided) memory modules.
You should double check that.
Did not find anything about that on the web.
