Instructions for config files on VPN client
I'm looking to deploy the 5.0.00 client on about 150 pc's. Is there a way for me to create a config file that will have the settings so I can have the users easily install the app on their own?
Roland-
Sure. Set it up on your pc, and there will be a connection profile created that resides in C:\PROGRAM FILES\CISCO SYSTEMS\VPN CLIENT\PROFILES that will be called *****.pcf - whatever you named the connection. This file can be distributed with the client, and all the user needs to do is click on the import button on the client and point to that .pcf file.

Help: Alternative location for Config Files
Hello,
I'm a newbie ...
I would like to create a separate directory to hold the Domain Configuration files.
e.g. I installed WebLogic Server in /home/gp/bea/wlserver6.1
And currently, my Domain's configuration files are in /home/gp/bea/wlserver6.1/config.
I would like to move these files to /home/config/... How can I make the WebLogic
Server point to this path for the Config files ?
Please help!
Many thanks,
-GPHi.
Unfortunately WLS won't work this way. There is effort underway to make this more
flexible in the near future, but you can't do this with 6.1.
Regards,
Michael

No documentation for ver. 5 VPN clients
Hi,
Why does it seem that there is no documentation on the Cisco site for VPN clients past version 4.6? There are release notes, but no user guides. We recently purchased an ASA, but the CD that came with it had old client versions.
Thanks,
- SteveSteve,
Yes, are you correct. There is no new documentation for the 4.8, 4.9 and 5.0.00.0340 release other than the text release notes posted with the VPN Client.
The reason is, other than new features to support some newer OS (Vista 32 Bit OS), etc, the configuration steps between 4.6 and 5.0 are the same. So, you should be good to go with the configuration guide from 4.6. If this is a new deployment of VPN Client, I would go through the release notes in detail and be aware of any known issues that may impact your network.

Arul

-Dweblogic.RootDirectory=<dirname>
* The property for specifying configuration location:
* The directory name of the domain from which to load the specified
* configuration. The default is ".".
* -Dweblogic.RootDirectory=<dirname>
* The directory must exist.

Hi,
I would like to point weblogic to a directory NOT under c:\bea\... for it's configuration.
I used to do this on WLS 5.1 by setting:
weblogic.home=/weblogic and weblogic.system.home=/projects/wlsconfig
This way my config was NOT coupled to the weblogic install.
I want to do the same thing, and have the config directory located in /projects/domainconfig
for example.
weblogic.system.home etc doesn't seem to do anything. The
only variable that does anything is bea.home, but I need weblogic to find it's
libs etc in /bea, but ONLY the config should be elsewhere.
Any help would be great.
Thanks,

PSE 8 Missing instructions for Exercise Files
I am finding the tutorials that came with my PSE 8 impossible to run from CD-ROM, so instead hoped to have success with the online tutorials at http://www.adobe.com/support/photoshopelements/ No such luck.
At the second Getting Started tutorial, there was reference to Exercise files, but no instructions on where to get them. Helpful comments on another discussion referred to "Tips n Trics" on the Welcome page - but my Welcome page only has 2 links; one to "Edit" and one to "Organise" parts of Photoshop Elements.
I'm pretty savvy on the computer but am finding this application's tutorials & online support very frustrating!!!
How do I import these "Exercise Files" ?
Thanks!It seems that the "Download Samples" link is available, but people are finding that these files are not recognisable.... ?

Cisco VPN client x64 for win7 - will not install
Hello guys,
I have fresh windows 7 x64 installation and I try install Cisco VPN client (vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0290-k9.exe). Installation ends with fatal error "Installation ended prematurely of an error". I red lot of 'step-by-step' how to solve this problem (run as administrator, even though that I'm administrator; UAC disabled; run in WinXP-mode; etc), without success.
I tried run installation process from cmd with verbose logging "msiexec /i vpnclient_setup.msi /lv log.txt" (and other 'recomended' optional parameters). The same result - fatal error.
Can anybody tell me where is the problem? (installation file is not corupted)

Generate random new GUID for Config Manager Client?
How can I generate a random new GUID for Config Manager 2012 R2 client.?
I tried by deleting smscgf.ini, by using RESETKEYINFORMATION=True switch and also by doing a force reinstall of client, but the same GUID persists.
Any help is appreciated. ThanksMore info:

Problem with mapping parameter when specified through an XML config file
I have decided to attept to stipulate UDT mapping parameters from C# to Oracle in the AppConfig File.
The original code (which worked) was as follows:
namespace RoyalLondon.Processes.Oracle.Dto
[OracleCustomTypeMappingAttribute("TEST_SCHEMA.T_PROJECT_CODE_CHANGES")]
class ProjectCodeChangeTableFactory : TableFactoryTemplate<ProjectCodeChangeTableDTO>
So, I've commented out the [OracleCustomTypeMappingAttribute line and added the following into the config file:
<oracle.dataaccess.client>
<settings>
<add name="ProjectCodeChangeTableDTO"
value="udtMapping factoryName='RoyalLondon.Processes.Oracle.Dto.ProjectCodeChangeTableFactory, RoyalLondon.Processes, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'
typeName='T_PROJECT_CODE_CHANGES'
schemaName='TEST_CON_DEV'"/>
</settings>
</oracle.dataaccess.client>
This yields the following error message:
Unhandled Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: Custom type mapping for ' RoyalLondon.Processes.Oracle.Dto.ProjectCodeChangeTableDTO' is not specified or is invalid.
All the documentation I have read suggest that this ought to be ok. Is there anything obvious I am missing?ummm, nevermind.
Turns out I hadn't updated the list of files that went in my servlet's jar file. I was recompiling the jar file successfully each time, but the list of files being included needed to contain a new class. This was a really stupid mistake on my part.
Just one of those things that I was bound to solve as soon as I broke down and posted something on the web. Sort of like taking your umbrella with you to ensure that it won't rain.
If anyone is reading this I am sorry I wasted your time.

VT Advantage vs. VPN client
Hi,
i have aproblem with cooperations between VT Adv. and VPN client. When i have installed both app. on my computer there is a problem with disconnecting VPN client. When i connect everything works fine but when i want disconnect there is a blue screen. I found the problem is with compatibility with VT Advantage. When I have only VPN client installed there is no problem..
Do you have any idea?
I tried few versions of both app in same time..Does your system have the following minimum requirements?
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional (SP3 or later) or Windows XP Professional (SP1 or later)
1 GHz or higher Pentium III or compatible processor (Streaming Single Instruction-Stream, Multiple Data-Stream [SIMD] Extensions support required), 1.4 GHz or higher compatible processor recommended
256 MB RAM minimum
40 MB free disk space
Video-capable graphics card at 800x600x16 bit or better
USB 1.1 or 2.0

I am using VPN client with host IP 192.168.2.20 and group authentication with username:sap_vpn and preshared key as password but could not connect to vpn and getting attached error message.
ASA set up with ASDM initial wizard: inside interface (VLAN1) IP 192.168.1.1 and outside (VLAN2) IP 192.168.2.20 assigned using DHCP. I am using outside interface IP 192.168.2.20 for HOST IP in VPN client for remote connection??? is it right??

Instructions for using Solstice/Legato Networker to back up iPlanet Calendar
Server
<P>
The following discussion expands upon the instructions for using the
Solstice/Legato client software to back up Calendar Server in the iPlanet
Calendar Server: Administration Guide. You can find this documentation at
the following URL:<BR>
<P>
http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/calendar/ics21/ag/calagadm.htm#1064539
<P>
If the Solstice/Legato Networker is installed under the default directory (as
per the recommended installation procedures), there should be three files
dedicated to Solstice/Legato Networker.<BR>
<P>
<OL>
<LI>icsasm
<LI>legbackup.sh
<LI>legrestore.sh
</OL>
<P>
To initiate the Networker backup directory image, use the command<BR>
<P>
csbackup -l
<P>
This command creates a directory named "
backup/" in the bin
directory and corresponds to Step 1
under the procedure for Backing Up Calendar Server Data in the
iPlanet Calendar Server Documentation.

After you have initiated the directory image, you can use the following commands
to back up or restore 1) a Calendar database, 2) a specific user's default
calendar, or 3) a specific calendar. The following commands assume that the Networker
client software is installed under the /usr/bin/nsr
directory and the iCS 2.x server is
installed under the /opt
directory.
<P>
<B>1) Calendar Database</B>
? To back up a database:<BR>
<P>
/usr/bin/nsr/save -s <I>legato server host</I>/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup
? To restore a database:<BR>
<P>
/usr/bin/nsr/recover -a -f -s <I>legato server host</I>
/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup
<BR>
<P>
<B>2) User's Default Calendar</B>
? To back up a user's default calendar:<BR>
<P>
/usr/bin/nsr/save -s legato server host
/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup/<I>userid</I>
? To restore a user's default calendar:<BR>
<P>
/usr/bin/nsr/recover -a -f -s legato server host
/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup/<I>userid</I><BR>
<P>
<B>3) Specific Calendar</B>
? To backup a specific calendar:<BR>
<P>
/usr/bin/nsr/save -s <I>legato server host</I>
/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup/<I>userid calid</I>
? To restore a specific calendar:<BR>
<P>
/usr/bin/nsr/recover -a -f -s <I>legato server host</I>
/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup/<I>userid calid</I>
<P>
You can also use the Networker graphical user interface to schedule backups.
For example, you could set up a client saveset to back up
/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup
periodically.

RV220W, VPN client, and Full Tunnel vs Split Tunnel capabilities
For an RV220W, which VPN client mode (of the three possibilities) supports which Tunnel mode?
This is mostly a question, and partly "in use" observations.
Background: I have been able to get all three different VPN clients to work with an RV220W, but only one of the three works in "Full Tunnel" mode (SSL VPN). And since I know one of the three -- the Cisco QuickVPN client -- will never with in that mode, do we know if an RV220W will with an IPSec client in Full Tunnel Mode?
If anyone answers yes, the next question will be vpn client and how did you configure it, client and RV220W, to make full tunnel work.
Summary of VPN modes I've gotten to work with an RV220W:

1.) 0.0.0.0 will not work in my router nor in the RV220W online emulator here, (general emulator page here), am I missing something obvious?
2.) Have you used these actual settings on your router, or did you answer in a theoretical, "this should work" way?

I note that my rss - http://punkcast.com/podcast.xml - shows in the iTunes store but doesn't seem to work in iTunes itself. I'm wondering if it's because it's got too big - it's around 100k. I seem to remember reading somewhere that there is a limit.
