Insufficient permission to access server ActivePortal

I keep seeing this on and off on our servers, but cannot find a reason.
it pops up 3 -4 times and then I don't see it for weeks.
Anybody has any guess for me to hunt it down??
2008-10-01 03:25:39,649 [ServletExec: request: time=1222831539649, uri=/Lighthammer/Illuminator] ERROR  ErrorHandler - Insufficient permission to access server ActivePortal
com.lighthammer.Illuminator.logging.LHException: Insufficient permission to access server ActivePortal
Thanks
Andy

Andy,
Well, the error itself simply means that someone tried to run a query against the ActivePortal, but does not belong to a Role that is mapped to this data source.
A before B, C, D, so perhaps this data server is first in your list when you do:  "/Lighthammer/Illuminator?Service=SystemInfo&Mode=ServerList"
If someone went into the TemplateEditor and selected this in the list it would run a ModeList query to populate the choices, which would constitue a query, and therefore the no permission error.
If would also happen if you've enabled the Metric\Alert Services section in your menu by mapping Role(s) to this service, then someone clicked on one of the web pages that uses "ActivePortal" behind an iGrid/iBrowser applet.
If you add the 'Everyone' Role to this Data Server the error should go away, but if you are really adventurous, then with the General Log set to 'Informational' you should see user session information in the same section as the fatal error.

Jeremy

You should check the groups that Xelsysadm is part of and the permissions. Maybe could exist a conflict between those. Try to test Xelsysadm as part of SYS ADMIN only. If it is already only part of this group, try to check those permissions.
Long time ago, I saw one metalink note that talk about this behavior in 9.1.0.2 not 11G, but it should help as well: '"Security Violation: User: '' has insufficient permission" In OIM Logs [ID 1219144.1]' . It seems to be the same situation.
    I hope this helps,

  • Suddenly cannot connect to server "you do not have permission to access the server"

I am one of only two Macs in our office.
Up until now I have been able to connect to our shared folders/server just fine. Occasionally and randomly I would seem to get booted off, but would just log back in.
Now suddenly I get "Connection Failed You do not have permission to access this server".
I seem to get it whether its cifs, afp or smb.
After it denies the connection it also boots me from email. As soon as I cancel the attempt to connect the email recognizes my password again.
I have tried rebooting, repairing permissions and having our network admin change my password and nothing seems to work.
If I enter an incorrect pw it recognizes it as such. I only get the above message when I use the correct username and PW.
Additionally if I go to the other mac in our office I am able to connect using the same credentials without any problem.
    This is via ethernet.

i also got the same problem on my ipad i have tried every thing i dont knw hw to fix this problme any solution. ???????????????????????????????????????????????????

    Close all iWork applications
    2
Uninstall Keynote; this must be done with an application remover tool to delete the installation properly. Appcleaner is known to work correctly for this purpose, it is free and can be downloaded from here: Appcleaner Download
    3
    empty the trash
    4
shutdown the Mac and restart. After the start up chime, hold down the shift key until the apple logo appears
let the Mac complete the start up procedure completely, it will take longer than usual as the hard drive is being repaired

  • SCVMM 2008 R2 - "The SQL Server service account does not have permission to access Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)."

I know this question has been asked before, but never for R2, that I can tell, and the posted fixes aren't working. I have just installed SCVMM 2008 R2 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server, using a remote SQL 2008 SP1 database. When I attempt to connect to SCVMM, I get the following error:
"The SQL Server service account does not have permission to access Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
Ensure that the SQL Server service is running under a domain account or a computer account that has permission to access AD DS. For more information, see "Some applications and APIs require access to authorization information on account objects" in the Microsoft Knowledge Base at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=121054.
    ID: 2607"
What I've seen online is that this is usually becuase the domain account SCVMM is running as does not have the proper permissions on the SQL database. Here's what I've confirmed:
    1) My SCVMM service account is a local admin on the SCVMM server
    2) My SCVMM service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    3) My SQL service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    4) My SQL service account is a domain user (even made it a domain admin, just in case, and it still "doesn't have access to AD DS," which is obviously untrue)
    5) Neither service account is locked out
Has anyone run in to this? It says in Technet that remote SQL 2008 is supported, as long as the SQL management studio is installed to the SCVMM server, and I installed and patched before I began the SCVMM installation. I just don't know what else to try - I have no errors in event logs, no issues during the installation itself...
    Andrew Topp

That answer was very unhelpful fr33m4n. The individual mentions that they've received the error that points to the KB article. I currently receive the same error -- there seems to be no resolution. I've run the Microsoft VBS script to add TAUG to the WAAG
as suggested by 331951, and that made absolutely no difference.
    1) My SCVMM service account is a local admin on the SCVMM server
    2) My SCVMM service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    3) My SQL service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    4) My SQL service account is a domain user (even made it a domain admin, just in case, and it still
"doesn't have access to AD DS," which is obviously untrue)
The user is also a member of WAAG, the machines have delegated authority to each other. Is there any other solution?

  • Forbidden  You don't have permission to access / virtualhostname / filename .html on this server.

    Hello Everyone
I've just configured Apache on my Newly upgraded Mountain Lion on Macbook Pro 13.
Steps i followed to activate apache, php and mysql on my macbook pro is as follows:
    http://coolestguyplanettech.com/downtown/install-and-configure-apache-mysql-php- and-phpmyadmin-osx-108-mountain-lion
I've configured the Sites folder and tested the http://localhost and find it working.
I created one file to test php configurations and found that they are also working perfectly.
Now i m creating a virtualhost with the name "rishtey.local" in  /private/etc/apache2/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf as below:
    <VirtualHost *:80>
        DocumentRoot "/Users/YogeshMunjal/Sites/Matrimonial/"
        ServerName rishtey.local
    </VirtualHost>
But whenever i try to access the virutal directory as: http://localhost/rishtey.local
    it gives me following error:
    Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /Rishtey.local/default_1.html on this server.
No matter if i am accessing php file or html file, error is same.
    directory permissions are as below:
    drwxrwxrwx@ 156 YogeshMunjal  staff  5304 Dec 14 02:51 Matrimonial
have created httpd.conf file as well in the same directory as:
    <Directory />
            Options FollowSymLinks
            AllowOverride All
            Order allow, deny
            Allow from all
    </Directory>
Still nothing is working at all. please suggest the possible solution with it.
    Thanks in advance for trying...

oh yes.. you are right... its accessible in
    http:://rishtey.local/default_1.html
successfully... thanks for that... first of all
now issue is: when i access http://rishtey.local/test.php which contains just a tag to display php info only...
instead of rendering this php file, it just save the file in the download folder.
what could be the issue with it?

  • Sometimes when I try to sign in, I get a Forbidden, you don't have permission to access login on this server

Sometimes, not all the time, I get a message that says
    Forbidden
you do not have permission to access login on this server
It does not happen all the time, but it happened today about 5 times. I finally had to use Safari to get online and get back to Firefox.
I never know when I shut down if it will happen when I reboot and try to get online again. This morning was particularly distressing, since it used to happen once, and then I would quit and restart Firefox and it worked. Today it did not work. What can I do to fix this? Thank you

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • After logging into facebook, I get an "access denied" message. It says I don't have permission to access facebook on this server but this is my home computer.

Recently I've had trouble either when I try to login to facebook or after I've logged in. Usually, it's a page that says "access denied" and follows with a statement similar to not having permission to access facebook on this server. It doesn't happen every time but when it does I try various ways to get back to my facebook page...usually I can google facebook and login that way. Today it won't let me do that either. Does anyone know what this means? I don't know hardly a thing about computer technology so I don't even know where to start. Thanks!

.usually I can google facebook and login that way.
Create a Bookmark for Facebook. Don't go via Google.
If you are using Safari... go to the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab.
    Click: Show Cookies
    Delete all Facebook cookies.
Now from the menu bar again click Safari / Empty Cache.
Restart your Mac, launch Safari, try Facebook.
If you still have problems, quit Safari.
    Open Keychain Access  /Applications/Utilities
    Select Passwords on the left.
Delete the Facebook and Safari Forms Autofill keychains. Now go to the menu bar top of your screen click Keychain Access / Keychain First Aid. Enter your admin password on the left then click Verify and Repair if necessary.
Relaunch Safari. Go to Facebook. Login with your user name and password. You should be prompted to save that data to a new keychain. Click Yes.

  • You don't have permission to access /servlets/otpwebprovider on this server.

    Hi
I have the HTTP server installed on my Laptop that comes with the Oracle 8.1.7 database. I setup my provider.xml in the appropriate directory and update the zone and jserv properties files in the appropriate Apache directory.
The plan was to have my provider running on my laptop which serves up the JSP portlets to a Portal page running on a main Portal instance.
At this point I am merely trying to test the Provider by typing the URL -
    http:[host]/servlets/[name of provider servlet alias]
and I get the error -
403 forbiddend - you dont have permission to access..
What could be wrong? I followed all the instructions in the
    Installing JPDK and samples document
    Help !!
    regards
    Ananth Makaram

    Ananth,
Make sure you have specified debuglevel ( > 0)parameter in the init_args list of the provider.
    Example :
    servlet.urlsample.code=oracle.portal.provider.v1.http.HttpProvider
    servlet.urlsample.initArgs=provider_root=path_to_provider.xml,debuglevel=3
If debuglevel is not specified, you will not be able to see debug page.

  • You don't have permission to access /pls/VIS/oraclemypage.home on this serv

    Hi
I have just managed to complete a test installation of 11i (after 4 weeks and 2 sets of disks).
    H/W is P3 500, 512 MB RAM 80 GB HDD running W2K advanced server.
Everything went well, and I managed to log in using both sysadmin/sysadmin and services/welcome.
I can log into the database fine using SQL*PLUS or TOAD.
After coming back from lunch, I am now getting the message "You don't have permission to access /pls/VIS/oraclemypage.home on this server" after the login page. I have made no changes and no-one but me has access to the server.
Does anyone have any experience of this error and hopefully a solution?
    Thanks
    Don

    1. check your dbc file in FND_TOP/secure.
    2. there is a cfg file under iAS/Apache/modplsql/cfg called wdbsvr.app
check the apps password there as well.

  • You don't have permission to access ** on the server, HELP please

For the last months I've been working with Muse and updating my website through Muse without any problems.
I use my extern HTML for update pages in Muse, and usually this went without any problems too.
But if I test my new update, when I want to download a specific clip, it says: "You don't have permission to access ** on this server."
The files are in the correct place on my FTP, the link is correct and when I open the specific link in my browser without using my website, I CAN download the file.
How is it possible that this suddenly doesn't work anymore? Last time I updated this way was one week ago - without any problems.
Can anyone help, seeing I have done everything I usually do, and everything is in the correct place and the link does work.
    Thanks

In my case I have to close/quit Muse. Then re-open the program. For me the problem goes away. This only happens occasionally.

  • Don't have permission to access /idc on this server.

    Hi,
I just installed Content Server on Red Hat Enterprise.
It installed without an error and it's running, I can see it using ps aux.
My Server Instance Name and Server Instance Label are: idc2
This is the configuration in httpd.conf
    LoadModule IdcApacheAuth "/home/ucm/idc2/shared/os/linux64/lib/IdcApache22Auth.so"
    IdcUserDB idc_db "/home/ucm/idc2/data/users/userdb.txt"
    Alias /idc "/home/ucm/idc2/weblayout"
    +<Location /idc>+
    +     Order allow,deny+
    +     Allow from all+
    +     DirectoryIndex portal.htm+
    +     IdcSecurity idc_db+
    +</Location>+
When I try to http://localhost/idc I receive this error:
    Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /idc on this server.
I checked the userdb.txt, it's in the right possition and it contains:
    anonymous                    Public

    Hi !
Under Debian it works perfectly if you add the same lines into +/etc/apache2/sites-available/default+ file between the <VirtualHost *:80></VirtualHost>
    tags.
Maybe it could work as well under Red Hat.

  • File Vault: You don't have permission to access /~anybody/ on this server.

I tried it on several machines without success:
    403 Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /~anybody/ on this server.
    Apache/1.3.33 Server at localhost.local Port 80
I can reach the main site on the computer but not the user site if user was setup with File Fault.
I did control permissions and tried this issue on other machines with clean installed 10.4.x
:::[Wed Apr 4 13:19:17 2007] [error] [client 192.168.0.10] (13)Permission denied: access to /~anybody/ failed because search permissions are missing on a component of the path:::
NO SOLUTION. IS THIS A BUG?

If I log in to a FileVault user's account, change the group of that user's home folder to "www" and allow group "---x" permissions, it is possible, from another account, to access "http://127.0.0.1/~filevaultuser". I'm not in a situation where I can test access from a different machine, and my system is PPC, not Intel, but I don't think that should matter. I'm not sure why it is not working for you.
Note that for it to work requires that the user is logged in (otherwise, because of how FileVault works, the "~/Sites" folder doesn't exist), and the permissions along the path "/Users/filevaultuser/Sites" have to allow "www" access. If the user is not logged in, access may fail for a couple of reasons. First, because the "Shared" folder doesn't exist - the home folder is encrypted - leading to a 404 error. Second, the permissions of "/Users/filevaultuser" may be "drwx------" by default (access only for the owner), leading to a permissions error.
It might help to recall that when a FileVault user's home folder is stored in an encrypted disk image "/Users/filevaultuser/filevaultuser.sparseimage", and when they log in, "/Users/filevaultuser" is moved to "/Users/.filevaultuser", and "/Users/.filevaultuser/filevaultuser.sparseimage" is mounted at "/Users/filevaultuser". I.e. the path "/Users/filevaultuser" refers to two different folders depending on whether or not the user is logged in.
..."it writes that if I'm looged in as the user which is using File Vault it should work - but it doesn't."...
I think that statement refers to 10.3 - lower in the article, it says that for Tiger, the "Public" folder won't be visible after logging in. It could also be referring to some changes made to personal file sharing that were made between 10.3 and 10.4, rather than a filevault specific issue.
Just to reiterate, I don't think enabling web sharing for a user that needs the security of FileVault is really a good idea. It might be better to give that user a second non-FileVault account, where they can place their materials. That way, the homepage would be available even if they are logged out.

  • Why all of a sudden am I seeing: FORBIDDEN You don't have permission to access / on this server.

I can normally access Firefox with no problem. Now when I try to connect to Firefox I see an error message that says: FORBIDDEN You don't have permission to access/on this server. What's up with that? How do I fix it?

Maybe the server is down for maintenance or updating.<br />
    Can you post a link?
