Integrate UIBB in SAP BPM Process

Hi there,
i'd like to integrate a Form UIBB into a SAP BPM Process.
I created already a WD-Chip for the UIBB as described in: Creating a CHIP for a Single UIBB
For the usage of the chip in BPM i need to create at least one inport ("WD ABAP Chip X-SAP-WDY-CHIP/Z_MYCHIP is not supported because it must have exactly one inport (list of inports: [])"). At the Inport Tab in the created WD-Chip i can only select Inport "Resume".
As mentioned in FPM Chip Integration i implemented then the interface "IF_FPM_CHIP_FEEDER" in my feeder class of the Form-UIBB. I read that i have to implement method "IF_FPM_CHIP_FEEDER~CHIP_INIT" and add the inports dynamically.
But my problems are: -1) The method never gets called?
-2) BPM shows that i have to create at least one inport?
Is it correct, that the integration of FPM Screens into BPM is currently not supported, as mentioned in: WD-FPM integration with BPM : View Idea?
Do i have to create separate WDA(non FPM)-Screens  to get it into BPM?
Hope you can help me out.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Michael

  • Heavy performance issues using Adobe Interactive Form PDFs generated by SAP BPM

    Dear experts,
we use Adobe Interactive Form PDFs (generated with LiveCycle Designer) as Human Tasks within SAP BPM processes. The PDFs are generated and transmitted correctly, but when they are opened at the receivers PC, Windows freezes for 2-3 minutes, then the PDF opens and can be filled out and sent back. The next PDFs can be opened much faster, but when the PC is restarted, we get the same problem again. We use Adobe Reader XI (11.0.2) on our clients; is their any know performance issue?
Please note, that we have this problem with EVERY Adobe Interactive Form PDF... I created a simple PDF containing just a field and the client PC still freezes. So it can't be in the form or the scripting. Normal static PDFs can be opend without any problems.
    Best regards,
    David

They haven't really announced it, because there is no product to announce. Rather the opposite.
There are no conversion tools, so far as I know.
XFA forms are a non-starter if you want portability.
AcroForms are a nightmare in themselves, because the functionality is limited in Adobe Reader and varies between absent and weird in other products. No idea about Blackberry support.
You will not find a simple recommendation. Rather, you need to use Acroforms and carefully test everything (EVERYTHING: no assumptions) on every platform you intend to support.
Yes, rather unsatisfactory, but until Adobe realise that the future is platform equivalence or irrelevance, this is where we are.

    Hi,
When I want to suscribe to the CAL Free Solution - SAP BPM and Operational Process Intelligence on SAP HANA, on the Terms and conditions page, even if I scroll down, the button "I accept" is not available.
Do you have any tips ?

I am trying to download the SAP BPM and Operational Process Intelligence on SAP HANA [trial edition] - AWS version and get a security error.
Any ideas where we can get a 90 demo version of SAP PO/PI that will work with AWS?  I am trying to refresh myself on PI7.4?

  • MDM web dynpro in BPM process

This is my first development in BPM, so please be charitable and understanding....
I have following error in my process:
Error: Build stopped due to an error: com.sap.glx.paradigmInterface.bpmn.compiler.BPMNCompilerException: [BPM.rt_c_bpmn.000024] I'm sorry, I'm afraid I can't do that: The data object 'UIResponse' does not have any type assigned to it
I have MDM web dynpro Item detail component embeed in my process in the human activity. I suppose that the problem is maybe in WebDynpro part, but I have no idea where - I was following the instructions given in e-book "How to integrate MDM with BPM", until now :-(. Do you have any idea what can be the reason of such error? I tried to find something in google, but no results for that....
    Thanks,

Yes, I follow instruction "How to Integrate Master Data Management(MDM) and Business Process Management(BPM)", chapter number 5 - "Passing MDM Semantic Data between BPM Process Steps using wrapper application". In my example I need to have BPMStatus visible in the context - I don't know why yet, but it is empty now. The previous problem which I described above is already solved. I am not sure where the problem exactly was, nothing helped, so I decided to create new process from scratch. Now I am able to build the project (no error occur), but my contrainer is empty. I drag and drop it as it is descibed on page 58. The only one difference is that I made connection with BPM status.
Besides, I discovered strange thing in this documentation on page number 61 - specify event handler. I use CE ver 7.2, and I have different windows than here - I have methods, events and event handler in separate tabs. So, I created event and event handler in those separate tabs, and then I should be able to copy them to Intefrace controller, as it is described it instruction. But in interface controller I don't have tab "event handler". Do you know why is that? Is it enough to have event handler in Component Controller? Maybe this is the problem why I don't see my container and cannot complete task?
Regards and thanks for your replies,

  • BPM process query integrating with EP

    Hello,
Our present finance process  where in we are using lotus notes for approvals workflow.
--> user login to lotus notes fill the form and clicks submit and this triggers approval workflow's in lotusnotes and after approvals it generates a form and the form details will be filled in SAP ECC.
We are going for SAP BPM for approval workflows to phase out lotusnotes.
we will design the financial form in Enterprise portal when the user submits it comes to BPM where the workflow triggers and the form will be generated that is adobe form.
    My question :
Do we integrate EP 7.0 and BPM through UWL
i have gone through this document is this the correct procedure  for connecting EP and BPM https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-107512

  • Getting error while Startting a BPM process programmatically

    Hi Experts,
I am getting an error while trying to start the BPM process programmatically. What i have done till now is
    1. Created a WS in process composer
    2. Binded this ws with start of the process
    3. Created input parameters
    4. Testing it in WS Navigator
I am following this doc /people/arafat.farooqui/blog/2009/08/13/introduction-to-sap-netweaver-bpm-part-4
and I am getting error while testing in WS Navigator. I am getting error at the last step i.e. in result step and the error is
Web Service returned an error. Fault Code: "(http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/)Client" Fault String: "No operation found using soap keys [], [cn_comments]. If possible can any one help me out.
    Thanks and regards
    Pranav

    Hi Arafat,
Thanks for replying. Yes i have completed the output mapping. Input parameters i need for this service are :
    1. cn_comments
    ca_comments
    2. cn_planningGroup
    ca_account
    ca_serialnumber
    and few more attributes
Now, what i did was i have created a complex type and added elements in it. But to my surprise i was not able to get these nodes and elements in output mapping. So, i changed the type of "parameter" from "new operation" to my complex type. By doing this i was able to get my nodes and elements in output mapping. Now i tested the entire thing in WS Navigator and i got that error.
    Please suggest how o proceed.

  • Serialization Error after adding a new field to BPM Process

    Hi,
I have a BPM Process to which I added a new attribute userid and consuming the BPM process in a web dynpro application, I created a model using the BPM Process's Web Service but getting a serialization error that the model does not have a mandatory field with name [userid]. see below.

  • How to find out what is causing an error in a BPM process

I have a very basic question and I can't figure it out from help.sap.com
I have a BPM process deployed to a SAP NW Java BPM 7.40 system. It can be triggered with a web service call.
It goes into error immediately. I go to NW Administrator > Operations > Process and Tasks > Manage Processes and see the process with status  "Error". But the "Error log" tab below is grayed out. I can't see any error message anywhere.
How do I find out what is wrong?

Ah, I didn't notice that on the history tab I can switch from Basic to Medium or Advanced, in Basic it was showing nothing. In Medium and Advanced it shows:
    Mapping failed
com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions720.NameNotFoundException: Object not found in lookup of test.sap.com.polreuse.ejbs.UUIDProviderLocal.

What could this mean? I didn't deploy all parts correctly or something like that?
Also, where do I check the default trace?

  • Processing large volume of idocs using BPM Processing

    Hi,
I have a scenario in which SAP R/3 sends large volume say 30,000 DEBMAS Idocs to XI. XI then sends data to 3 legacy systems using jdbc adapter.
I created a BPM Process which waits for 4 hrs to collect all the idocs. This is what my BPM does:
    1. Wait for 4 hrs Collect the idocs
    2. For every idoc do a IDOC->JDBC Message transformation.
    3. Append to a Big List
    4. Loop at the Big list from step 4 and in the loop for
    5. Start counter from 0 and increment. Append to a Small List.
    6. if counter reaches 100 then send a Batch JDBC Message in send step.
    7. Reset counter after every send.
    8. Process remaining list i.e if there was an odd count of say 5300 idoc then the remaining 53 idocs will be sent in anther block.
After sending 5000 idocs to above BPM following problems are there:
    1. I cannot read the workflow log as system does not respond.
    2. In the For Each loop which loops through the big list of say 5000 idocs only first pass of 100 was processed after that the workflow item is not moving ahead. It remains in the status as "STARTED" but I do not see further processing.
Please tell me why certain Work Items are stuck is it becuase I have reached upper limit and is this the right approach? The Main BPM Process is also hanging from last 2 days.
I have concerns about using BPM for processing such high volume of idocs in production. Please advice and thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Ashish

    Hi Ashish,
Please read SAPs Checklist for proper usage of BPMs: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/d92e428819da2ce10000000a1550b0/content.htm
One point i'm wondering about is why do you send the IDocs out of R/3 one by one and don't use packaging there? From a performance stand point this is much better than a bpm.
The SAP Checklist states the following:
    <i>"No Replacement for Mass Interfaces
Check whether it would not be better to execute particular processing steps, for example, collecting messages, on the sender or receiver system.
If you only want to collect the messages from one business system to forward them together to a second business system, you should do so by using a mass interface and not an integration process.
If you want to split a message up into lots of individual messages, also use a mass interface instead of an integration process. A mass interface requires only a fraction of the back-end system and Integration-Server resources that an integration process would require to carry out the same task. "</i>
Also you might want to have a look at the IDoc packaging capabilities within XI (available since SP14 i believe): http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7a/00143f011f4b2ee10000000a114084/content.htm
And here is Sravyas good blog about this topic: /people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/12/09/xiidoc-message-packages
If for whatever reason you can't or don't want to use the IDoc packets from R/3 or XI there are other points on which you can focus for optimizing your process:
In the section "Using the Integration Server Efficiently" there is an overview on which steps are costly and which steps are not so costly in their resource consumption. Mappings are one of the steps that tend to consume a lot of resources and unless it is a multi mapping that can not be executed outside a BPM there is always the option to do the mapping in the interface determination either before or after the BPM. So i would sugges if your step 2 is not a multi mapping you should try to execute it before entering the BPM and just handle the JDBC Messages in the BPM.
Wait steps are also costly steps, so reducing the time in your wait step could potentially lead to better performance. Or if possible you could omitt the wait step and just create a process that waits for 100 messages and then processes them.
    Regards
    Christine

  • How to start BPM Process in Netweaver CE 7.1 from backend

since 2 Month i am trying to use SAP Netweaver CE 7.1 EHP1. I found a lot about modelling of business process with process composer.
In my company we are often using SAP Standard Programs/transaktions, thats why I want to start a SAP Netweaver BPM Process from SAP Backend. I think there are more than one way. May be someone can tel me one easy way.
The following systems are available in my Landascape:
    - PI 7.1

    - CE 7.1 EHP1 with ESR
Does someone have an idea how to start the BPM Process or how to trigger start event from Backend?
    Greetings,

    Hi,
Netweaver BPM process can be started in two ways:
    1. Using NWA by instantiating a process
    2. Using a Web service which trigers the Start event of the Business Process. You may find this useful:

    2. Using a Web service which trigers the Start event of the Business Process. You may find this useful:

  • Error starting BPM process in CE 7.2

    Hi Guys,
I created a BPM process and deployed it on CE 7.2 server. When I try to start it from  Process Repository , I get following error.
com.sap.tc.bpem.wdui.procstarter.procstarter.comp.ProcStarterComp$MyException: Error :Start event ID is null; Check if the necessary services are started
Start Event and end event are defined.
Any idea what this error is about.

Please can any one help me out??
    ONE MORE DOUBT
Whenever I want to create a task iam starting the process so iam able to create one task.. if i want intialize/Create  some tasks(100 tasks) what should i do??Do we start the process 100 times..?are anyother procedure?
    Regards
    Shwetha

    Hi Shwetha,
You do not necessarily need to write code in case you rely on existing services. Typically some configuration is missing when the service consumption is not working as expected. Make sure that you did this before.
Could you please check the status of your tasks and processes in the SAP NetWeaver Administrator ("Manage Tasks", "Manage Processes"). The troubleshooting guide (mentioned in the forum description) might help you a little here.
In addition you could check the trace file if some other technical problems occurred.
    Regarding your second request:
You do not need to start 100 processes for 100 tasks. That simply depends on your process model. You could prepare something like a loop which creates a task until a certain criteria is reached. But be careful not to run into endless loops here. That might cause massive problems on your system.
    Hope that helps,
    Martin
