Integrated Messaging Timeout
I love the new integrated messaging and I use it all the time, but I want to keep it open all day like an IM client, but the session times out all the time. Is there a way to start an integrated messaging session without timing out or a way to extend how long before it logs me out of the session?
We want to make sure your messaging is working smooth everywhere you need it, dabuz. Are you using Verizon Messages with Integrated Messaging Service for your messages? What's going on when you try to sign into http://bit.ly/1lEmBgp on your Mac? Are you getting an error message? Please share some extra details about what's going on and we'll be sure to get this working.
Thank you

What is new AT&T iPhone MMS date? I see integrated messaging feature
Okay, I heard that this was to happen at then end of Summer, then end of July.
So what is the new date? I see Integrated Messaging counters in my AT&T profile as of this week.
Should we expect another update to sync with iTunes to get it working?Funny. I'm going to mark this question as answered -and this last post as funny.
I hope it isn't sarcasm, cause my sarcasm detector runs on Windows 7 and I currently have my VMware Fusion session powered off.
The heart of my question was really the "integrated message" counter in my AT&T profile. I was hoping to hear others just got it, or don't have it, or when they got it, and they I could magically extrapolate a new MMS rumor date.
Anyway, I don't have to go to UK (although a good choice), cause Rogers in Canada has MMS already.

Integrated Messaging not receiving all texts
I turned on my integrated messaging to use the on-line feature of checking SMS/MMS texts. It worked for a few weeks, showing me all my incoming and out going texts on my PC in my verizon account, then it quit.
Now, it only shows group texts that I receive and pictures. No just plain texts in or out. I work in a building with bad cell phone reception and I loved being able to log in to my Verizon on my PC at work and keep up with my texts...what can i do to have it work for both OUT going and INCOMING texts? I have tried to un-subscribe then subscribe again, and have looked at every setting there is, but nothing works.. Any suggestions? My phone is not a smart phone but that didn't make any difference in the beginning since it worked a couple of weeks. Thanks for all help!!I want you to be able to enjoy the benefits of integrated messaging jack8245! What make and model device do you have? This feature is mainly utilized with smartphones; therefore it may be a device limitation even if the feature was once working. Have you tried removing the battery? How about deleting your message threads and starting new ones? When you initiated the service, was it on the phone or via My Verizon. I recommend deleting and readding the feature to reset it.
Sincerely,

I logged into my at&t account and looked the data usage. I only have the 200 text message plan. Anyway, it says "Integrated Messaging, Used 200 out of 200" and it has a red line. Then, on top of that, it says "Integrated messaging, Unlimited, Used 0 of unlimited." What the heck does this mean? Am I going to incur extra charges?
Also, while in my account i was going to see about adding a new text message plan. Now, everyone who has an iPhone has an "iPhone data" plan. When looking at the "Add/Manage" feaure of the account, it gives you the option of adding or changing media max, etc. Is this the same thing? Can I choose one of those plans or do I have to waste my time calling AT&T and have them manually add the iPhone text message plan?Probably easiest to call AT&T. Only they would know the exact status of your acct and what those lines mean.
Media Max is a different plan, not sure if it would work with the iPhone or not. There is chat line support from AT&T that's usually pretty quick for questions like these. -
How can I upload my old text messages to Integrated Messaging?
I recently started using Verizon Integrated Messaging around a month ago and am now upgrading my phone (that has text messages for the last two years). Normally I could just take all my texts and send them, Android to Android via Verizon Cloud or a 3rd party program. However, I'm going to iOS from Android so those options aren't available (for reasons that still elude me...). In any case, I plan on using Verizon Integrated Messaging on the new iPhone since it seems to be a better option than iMessage. So, it would be awesome if I could upload all my old text messages to Verizon (which I saved via the Verizon Messaging app via the 'Backup' option), either to the website directly or my iOS device, or even directly from the old phone. But, that doesn't seem to be possible and I don't understand why - if I can restore old messages in my phone, why can't I restore them to the Verizon server? Any help would be appreciated - thanks!
As I said previously, "Of course this will not include any messages you had prior to first using Verizon Messages on your old phone."
Verizon Messages will only sync messages which have been sent/received SINCE you first enrolled in it. It will NOT do so for messages from BEFORE.
You could restore older messages to your phone with an app such as SMS Backup & Restore, but they won't be on Verizon's servers to access from other locations such as desktop/laptop/tablet. -
Hi,
I am getting an issue during a SCOM 2012 R2 installation while creating the SCOM DataWarehouse database. Setup seems to timeout during creating the datawarehouse database. I can see all database files created in windows explorer on the SQL server before
setup rolls the SCOM install back.
Has anyone seen this issue before or know how to help resolve it?
Appreciate your help, below is the SCOM installation log:
Thanks

marc nalderHi,
Based on the log, I recommend you use the following way to test SQL connectivity.
You can use a UDL file to test various connectivity scenarios, create a simple text file, rename the extension from TXT to UDL, fill out the necessary information on the connection tab then test the connection, and troubleshoot as necessary
if it fails to connect.
For more information, please review the link below:

I just started with Verizon. At work, I like to text online and you can do this with their "integrated messaging" platform. However, my contacts aren't showing up. How do I get my contacts to show up? When I start typing in the "to" field, it doesn't short list my contacts for example. Thank you.
Hi Pamela,
Thanks for writing back.
No, *all *contacts are missing when I to go "vtext" online. Someone else
from verizon responded and said it wouldn't sync to there, those have to be
entered manually. I thought that was a poor app, as apps like Heywire and
Whatsapp let you see your full contacts on their online web-texting sites.
I haven't used the verizon cloud. I thought it was $2.95/month? Would
backing up my phone to the cloud let me see my contacts when I use vtext?
Thank you,
Paula

Synchronous JDBC - message timeout
Hi,
I have a scenario RFC-XI-JDBC synch. I am getting a message timeout error while trying to post large data volume. Apparently the sync message is geting expired after timeout (default 180 sec).
I found SAP note 730870 (question 14) suggests to increase the property xiadapter.inbound.timeout.default. However, SAP note 791379 says you should never change this value.
Is anyone has chaged this value in oreder to optimize performance ? Pls suggest.
Also pls let me know if you have any other suggestion. As per the documentation

You should increase the timeout from 180000(default) to 240000.
or 240 sec.

Verizon messaging and integrated messaging
I had the app on my old phone with integrated messaging. When I got a new phone the integrated messaging wasn't working anymore. When I looked at all the stuff I figured out I had to download the messages app to my new phone, so I did. When I did it asked me if I want to use this as my default (on my Verizon phone) I said no and it kicked me out and won't let me go any further. The integrated messaging is still not working. Also when I get it to work I don't want my old messages on my new phone. How do I prevent that? Will they only show up in the Verizon app or will they show up in the factory text app that came with the phone as well?
ThanksIt integrates automatically supposedly. Just takes over as the default app and then you can also use the desktop version or any other device with V messages and access across devices. When you set it up you can go to your registered devices, either on the phone or on the desktop or web app and edit those devices, taking off or removing your old phone. From this link you can get the android app, desktop app, and access the web app. Verizon Messages - Verizon Wireless

Integrated messaging for second line
My daughter set up integrated messaging on her phone for use with the web through my verizon online . We would like to do the same for my phone but do not see an option to set up my phone (an additional line on same account). Is this feature only for the primary account holder? If not, can someone instruct us how to set it up for my phone?
guitardeerrun wrote:
1. If you activate Integrated Messaging Service (IMS) for one phone on the plan, is it activated for all phones on the plan?
2. If not, how do you activate other phones on the plan? You need to have a login and password for EACH line on your shared family or share everything plan. Secondary lines will only see information related to their line of service, and the account owner can see call, text, and data details and manage all the lines (but they cannot see actual texts unless logged in under each separate line).
3. When you activate, does an automated Verizon message go to the phone announcing IMS, - or not. Not sure....I don't remember.
4. Where and when does the message push occur - on server to phone & web simultaneously - or does message go to phone first, then handshake back to server for the push to the web. This latter method then implies an app install on the phone which talks back to server saying now push out to the web.
The 'app-on-phone' is what I want to avoid, hence one of my questions is "Do you just accept terms and messages begin appearing on web, - or must you first install and activate app on the phone. I hope some of the Verizon knowledge people see, understand and reply.
I had the Messaging app on my phone initially, and on the tablet. I removed it from the phone as I was getting the texts twice (native texting and the app) and I preferred the native texting on the phone. Since my tablet is wifi only, I like being able to access messages and text with the tablet using my phone number.
I really haven't used the application on the computer, no need to, but when I do pull it up, all my messages are there.
I did activate it on my phone first, then the tablet. But I have since removed it from my phone - so you don't have to have it on the phone for it to work.
A couple of things I DON'T like about it:
It doesn't sync with my contacts list, so all I see are numbers of contacts who text me. I don't know everyone's numbers, so I have to read through a few messages to figure out who the thread is with, and I haven't figured a way to get names instead of numbers to display.
It also doesn't sync read and unread messages. My tablet has tons of unread messages, even though I have received and read the messages on my phone. Maybe because I don't have the app on my phone any longer? But it seems it was working that way before I removed it from the phone - the two did not "sync". Maybe I'll try putting it back on the phone to see if the sync happens....
In answer to @flapship - you need to set up a separate MyVerizon account for each line, then you can set up the Integrated Messaging for that line. -
Hi All,
I am unable to set the time out value for complete message time out=-1 in weblogic 10.
In weblogic 8.1 we can set the value og http message time out as -1.
Is there any such parameter for weblogic 10?
If yes can we set it to -1.
By setting complete timeout =480, I am facing timeout issues for message greater than 10MB.Hi,
*<complete-http-message-timeout>* is the maximum number of seconds spent waiting for a complete HTTP message to be received. If you configure network channels for this server, each channel can override this HTTP message timeout.
This timeout helps guard against a denial of service attack in which a caller indicates that it will be sending a message of a certain size which it never finishes sending.
*A value of -1 indicates that this value should be obtained from network channels configured for this server.*
Minimum value: -1
Maximum value: 480 (U have set the Maximum possible value for this at your end)
Secure value: 60
Admin Console Location to Edit this value:

It's mostly recommendations in RFC 2821
but they recommend 4-5 days
4.5.4.1. Sending Strategy
The general model for an SMTP client is one or more processes that
periodically attempt to transmit outgoing mail. In a typical system, the
program that composes a message has some method for requesting immediate
attention for a new piece of outgoing mail, while mail that cannot be
transmitted immediately MUST be queued and periodically retried by the
sender. A mail queue entry will include not only the message itself but
also the envelope information.
The sender MUST delay retrying a particular destination after one
attempt has failed. In general, the retry interval SHOULD be at least 30
minutes; however, more sophisticated and variable strategies will be
beneficial when the SMTP client can determine the reason for non-delivery.
Retries continue until the message is transmitted or the sender gives
up; the give-up time generally needs to be at least 4-5 days. The
parameters to the retry algorithm MUST be configurable.
A client SHOULD keep a list of hosts it cannot reach and corresponding
connection timeouts, rather than just retrying queued mail items.
Experience suggests that failures are typically transient (the target
system or its connection has crashed), favoring a policy of two
connection attempts in the first hour the message is in the queue, and
then backing off to one every two or three hours.
The SMTP client can shorten the queuing delay in cooperation with the
SMTP server. For example, if mail is received from a particular address,
it is likely that mail queued for that host can now be sent. Application
of this principle may, in many cases, eliminate the requirement for an
explicit "send queues now" function such as ETRN [9].
The strategy may be further modified as a result of multiple addresses
per host (see below) to optimize delivery time vs. resource usage.
An SMTP client may have a large queue of messages for each unavailable
destination host. If all of these messages were retried in every retry
cycle, there would be excessive Internet overhead and the sending system
would be blocked for a long period. Note that an SMTP client can
generally determine that a delivery attempt has failed only after a
timeout of several minutes and even a one-minute timeout per connection
will result in a very large delay if retries are repeated for dozens, or
even hundreds, of queued messages to the same host.
At the same time, SMTP clients SHOULD use great care in caching negative
responses from servers. In an extreme case, if EHLO is issued multiple
times during the same SMTP connection, different answers may be returned
by the server. More significantly, 5yz responses to the MAIL command
MUST NOT be cached.
When a mail message is to be delivered to multiple recipients, and the
SMTP server to which a copy of the message is to be sent is the same for
multiple recipients, then only one copy of the message SHOULD be
transmitted. That is, the SMTP client SHOULD use the command sequence:
MAIL, RCPT, RCPT,... RCPT, DATA instead of the sequence: MAIL, RCPT,
DATA, ..., MAIL, RCPT, DATA. However, if there are very many addresses,
a limit on the number of RCPT commands per MAIL command MAY be imposed.
Implementation of this efficiency feature is strongly encouraged.
Similarly, to achieve timely delivery, the SMTP client MAY support
multiple concurrent outgoing mail transactions. However, some limit may
be appropriate to protect the host from devoting all its resources to mail.
