Integrating Java and JavaFX..?

Hi
I am a new bee to JavaFX. I have a Java program which connects to the MySql Databas and fetches the data and prints the data, and also I have written a Java FX program for my GUI. Is there any way for me to integrate these two program so that the data fetched by using the Java program can be used in Javafx. If is there any way plz let me know.
Or
Is there any other way for me to connect to the MySql Database through JavaFx

It is a common question that have been answered several times on this forum.
I suggest to try and use the search facilities...
But in short, in JavaFX you instantiate Java objects as usual (var x = new JavaObject();) and you can use them freely.

Also, If you want to call JavaFX methods from Java you can use interface and have the JavaFX class extend it (interfaces are extended in JavaFX)
For example, make interface FXAdapter.java

Is it possible to have java and javafx project types combined ?.

Today, in NetBeans (not sure about the eclipse world) one has to decide between a "Java" project or a "JavaFX" project.
Why can't these two be combined ?.
For e.g, when I try to add JavaFX files (script, classes) to a Java Project it fails to compile. I poked around Netbeans and googled a bit and could'nt find any answers.
The only way that I can make it work is to create a JavaFX project and Java code to it.
In situations where one is attempting to "add" JavaFX to an existing Java/Swing app the current approach is too weird and abnormal.
For e.g Amy Fowler's excellent guide http://weblogs.java.net/blog/2009/06/10/insiders-guide-mixing-swing-and-javafx should be such that I should be able to "simply" add JavaFX code and NetBeans should take care of the plumbing. (calling javafx compiler, adding the right jars for runtime ...)

I'm not sure how JavaFX works, but it is built rather differently from "normal" Java (Single threaded, high level of abstraction from the actual implementation, etc). It is easy to use Java classes inside a JavaFX class, but the reverse is not true.
Plus, though this part is technically fixable, some classes installed inside the JRE don't seem to work by default in a netbeans JavaFX project.

I wondered how I could use a JavaFX class inside a Java class. Like this:

You can use a Java class inside of a JavaFX class similarly to a JavaFX class. Only major difference is instantiation:

Difference between Java applet and JavaFX

I am studying javaFX in general. As far as I understand there is no main difference between java applet and javafx, except javafx has different syntax and library simple to use. Is it right?

Basically, yes. But as you point out, it is supposed to be faster to develop in JavaFX...
For example, Processing allows to export to applet, and is strong on doing graphics, but to see if user has clicked on a circle, you have to check the mouse coordinates against the circle coordinates, or create your own Circle class: it is at a much lower level.
Likewise, you can use gaming frameworks like Slick2D or PulpCore, but they might be lacking on GUI (but perhaps faster). Or use Apache's Pivot, strong on GUI, but perhaps lacking a bit on graphics and animation.
It depends on your needs, if you prefer to stick to Java, etc.

BI Java and BI ABAP -RSPLAN issue

We are working with BI system ,using BI 7.0 Java and BI ABAP as separate systems on same host.
Already run the template intaller for BI Java and ABAP integration.
But facing some issue ,when going ot BI ABAP and RSPLAN and clicking the Start Mideller
it is opening a browser as http://host:8000/sap/public/myssocntl?sap-client-XXX
Since this is not correct and it should open BI Java portal instead of ABAP stack page.
Instead this should open a Url like this http://host:5XX00/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/biplanworkbench1/Modeler?
I check on BI ABAP system under SAP Reference IMG -> SAP Customizing Implementation Guide-> SAP NetWeaver _> Business Intelligence-> BI Integrated Planning -> Settings for Starting the Planning Modeler.
There the default Url is BEx Portal Server and the url is
http://host:5XX00/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/biplanworkbench1/Modeler
Can anybody let me know why this is going to ABAP server instead it should go to Java.

ABAP mapping
ABAP mappings run on ABAP Stack and are developed in the ABAP workbench of the Integration Server.
You normally do not need to use the ABAP mappings and is preferable for someone with ABAP programming background. I should say JAVA functions would suffice any complex scenarios.

Steps required for developing XSLT Mapping
u2022 Create a source data type and a target data type
u2022 Create Message types for the source and target data types.
u2022 Create Message Interfaces includes Inbound Message interface and Outbound Message interface.
u2022 XSLT Mapping does not require creation of Message mapping, so donu2019t create any Message mapping.
u2022 Create an .XSL file which converts source data type into target data type.
u2022 Zip that .xsl file and import it into Integration Repository under Imported Archives.
u2022 In Interface Mapping choose mapping program as XSL and specify this zip program. (Through search help you will get XSL Mapping programs that you imported under Imported Archives, select your corresponding XSL Program)
u2022 Test this mapping program by navigating to Test tab.
By having look at above steps you can easily find out that this mapping is no where different from other mapping programs, here the challenging lies in creating an XSLT file. If you spend couple of minutes in studying XPATH tutorial you would be in ideal position to create an XSL Transformation (.xsl extension).
If you still find difficulties in generating XSL Transformation, then you can make use of a tool u201CAltova MapForceu201D which will create XSL file for you.
Steps for creating XSL file using this tool:
1. Open the Alto MapForce, import the source .xml and .xsd file in it
2. Similarly import the target .xml and .xsd in MapForce.
3. These two data files should match with source and target data types in Integration Repository.
4. Complete the graphical mapping using extensive list of XSLT functions available there.
5. Save the mapping file.
6. Click the XSLT tab. You will have the entire xslt logic there.
7. Copy that content and save it as .xsl file.
8. Zip above .xsl file and import the same into IR under Imported Archives.

go to http://<host>:<port>/index.html -->User Management log in using j2ee_admin
When you go into one of the tabs, there will a client entry . Just change.
You should able to do the same thing with UME provider service in the visual admin.
Please check Note 938980 if you are using VPN.
This is probably a Java Web-Start issue. Please check logon with other JWS versions. Also check if you have any conflicting JWS versions installed.

Communicate link between Java and ABAP Stack for https

I have configured https in both the java and abap stacks (we have a double stack configuration). Due to our future configuration I have changed the hostnames to fully qualified hostnames per SAP instructions.
The question I have is does anyone know what RFC destinations or JCo settings I need to change to make https complete?
I have the problem where when I fire off the Integration Builder from within the ABAP stack (SXMB_IFR) I get a straight hostname (no domain name). Where is this configured? Any help is appreciated..

Check the exchange profile (Administratio tab in /rep/start/index.jsp page; you will have to enter it manually since it is throwing error from SXMB_IFR).

Tha ABAP stack consists of the Integration Server which in turn contains your Integration Engine and Business Process Engine.
The J2EE stack contains the Adapter Engine and your IR and ID run on the J2EE engine.
Most of XI pipelines happens in the ABAP stack.
All messsages picked by the Adapter Framework running on the J2EE engine are passed to the Integration Engine, which does the routing. The mapping program again gets executed on the Java stack and the rest of the pipeline servies are executed again on the ABAP stack and so on.

Hi Spring,
If u give an exception step along with your Transformation Step, whenever some error occurs in your message mapping, this exception block wil be triggered.
You can configure your exception block to do all exception processing that you want. This exception handling is like any other java Exceptio n Handler. You can do anything that you want in your exception handler block on the basis of your requirements.
<i>If an exception is triggered at runtime, the system first searches for the relevant exception handler in surrounding blocks. If it does not find the correct exception handler, it continues the search in the next block in the block hierarchy.
When the system finds the correct system handler, it stops all active steps in the block in which the exception handler is defined and then continues processing in the exception handler branch. Once the exception handler has finished processing, the process is continued after the block.
If the system fails to find an exception handler, it terminates the integration process with an error.</i>

We followed steps mentioned in for integration. WE have two SoA instances, home, oc4j_soa.

I have changed only jazn.xml available in ..j2ee/oc4j_soa suite to have the below section: This section was copied from jazn.xml of ..j2ee/home directory that has been automatically updated after running configure_oid.bat file

Java and SAP

Hi all:
Just wondering if someone could advise me on the following: Im quite new to SAP and wish to look at moving my Java skills into the SAP development arena; therefore do most individuals create apps in the workbench or can applications be developed in say Borland and then ported into the SAP environment? I havent seen the Java environment within NetWeaver yet, however does on need to become familiar with and/or have an understanding of ABAP before you can apply your Java development skills?

SAP now offers SAP Netweaver (which is a web-based, open integration and application platform) which has many components like Enterprise Portal, SAP XI, BW etc etc.
Now see this diagram, and you will see that at the bottom
you have Application Platform which supports both Java and ABAP. This application platform is SAP WAS (Web Application Server)which forms foundation for all components mentioned here

Now it actually depends on which area you want to move to. Like Enterprise Portal development needs Java skills and you can actually use Netweaver development to environment to create your applications.
Infact you can develop and deploye J2EE applications as well.
Infact I too don't know ABAP well and have significantly contributed to Portal Development projects. So, in short you dont need ABAP knowledge for all arenas of SAP.
