Intel vPRO / AMT processor detection using SCCM.

Hi All,
I have an Intel consultant hopefully visiting me soon to discuss the benefits of activiating Vpro/AMT/OOB management in my infrastucture.
At the moment i have not got  PKI linked in with SCCM, but its on its way as soon the team responsible have some time.
Anyway, the consultant has asked me to gather a report using SCCM of all the vPRO Cpus that we have, Model Numbers  and AMT versions..... Now ive been looking at this for a couple hours and i cant see how i can easily create sucha report or even if
its possible.. multiple reports perhaps and it wont be a quick task seeing as my skills at creating custom reports are extremely minimal.
I have managed to create collections put even though the ';AMT Version' column is visbile it does not get populated.
I have seen elsewhere that in order to accomplish this i should have OOB Role installed?  can this role be installed without PKI ?
There is a tool that intel have that can be distributed via sccm and can be used to query systems for their AMT details, but our infrastucture is too complex and seperated for this:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21144&keyword=%22SCS%22&lang=eng
Many thanks in advance for any help...

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with CSS as they can work with you to solve this problem.

  • Intel vPro AMT integration with SCCM 2012R2 - Issues with SCCM finding the "ConfigMgr AMT Web Server Certificate"

    Good evening all,
I'm attempting to get Intel SCS integrated with SCCM 2012 R2 and I have both sides working, doing what they do best, however, I have issues when I try to mate the two. I started with a single server for the site and then tackled the Intel side with success,
then I added another site server to run the Out of Band service point and Enrollment point. Up until this point I've had no issues with certificate templates, or issuance of those certs.
I have re-read the TechNet documents a few times regarding the PKI setup, some Intel documentation and three step by step articles and non of them seem to differ so I can't understand why I'm unable to choose my "ConfigMgr AMT Web Server Certificate"
when configuring the Out of Band Management Component Properties page.  The "AMT web server certificate template:" dialog shows my CA FQDN and CA name, but the certificate template list is always blank.  I've tried this from both the remote
and local ConfigMgr consoles.  The site servers have rights on the CA to manage and issue certs, is there something I'm missing that isn't in the documentation or buried somewhere that I missed?  Is there a Application policy that should be on the
    cert that isn't mentioned anywhere?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Joyce,
Thanks for responding.  I pretty much have this error repeating in the log file and not much else:

  • I have a mac book pro, 2006 with an 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, can I update to Lion? to use icloud.

Apple keep telling me I need to update to icloud but I'm not sure if Lion will work on my Mac. I've upgraded to snow leopard which seems to have knackered my .me or .mac account (whatever it's called now), so I don't seem to have any option but to upgrade to Lion if I every want to see my emails again.
Apple say I must have a Intel Core 2 processor for Lion to work...... at least I think that's what they say.
I have a mac book pro, 2006 with an 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, can I update to Lion?

    Lion System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
If you have a Core Duo model then you cannot upgrade to Lion. You can upgrade to Snow Leopard, but iCloud is not available for Snow Leopard.
Open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. Look for the Model ID in the displayed information. If you have a MacBookPro 2,1 or later then you have a Core 2 Duo model and can upgrade to Lion.

  • Intel vPro with wired 802.1x issue with domain name

    Hello guys,
this issue is may not related to SCCM directly, but intel forums are really poor so i´d like to ask here...
The Case: We are currently provisioning our vPro chips with SCCM SP2 R3 and almost everthing worked as expected (Provisioning OK, OOB Console OK, PowerControl OK even TLS and Kerberos are working. But there is an issue with the 802.1x authentication. It
seems the vPro chips are not using the correct domain name. Lets say our DNS domain name is
vpro.com and the NETBIOS Name is coprvro . There are no child or other domains. vPro chips are presenting now
vpro\COMPUTERNAME$iME instead of vpro.com oder corpvro
so the Radius Server (Windows Server 2008 R2 - NPS) is saying ReasonCode 7 "...domain is not existing...". AuthenticationType and EAP Type are correct. Usually user- and computeraccounts are using
    corpvro as domain name.

    Hi Dan,
thank you for your reply. I've already done this in the second place using the SDK and winrm ($8021XProfileInstance.GetProperty("Domain")). I've no idea were SCCM is getting this domain name from. Its cutting off the top level domain extension,
may be SCCM is assuming that this equals the NETBIOS domain name but that is not the case. This is only a guess, in detail I need to know in fact on what basis SCCM is choosing the domain name, then i can fix this...
Intels SCS putting the correct NETBIOS domain name in the amt config, used certificates are the same...

    Hi,
I accidentally deleted the collection named Intel SCS Platform Discovery. These collections were made after installing the
Intel SCS Add-on for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager from the Intel site. (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24010)
Can anyone please help me get this collection back? I've already made the collection again but I don't know the Membership Rules. Maybe anyone that got Intel vPro implemented in their SCCM server 2012 R2 can dump this here?
    Thanks in advance,

Hello oker31, thank you for answering. I want to try what you say but when I run the Intel SCS Add-on for Microsoft SCCM I get the Error: Failed to identify the SCCM installation. I'm on the primary server, should I run this on the terminal server? Or any

Why is the build to order 12 core processor limited to 2.66 GHz Intel Xeon "Westmere" processor?

if you look at apples online store; you'll see there is no options to buy / upgrade the CPU at a later date. The online store dose offer: RAM, Graphic Cards, Hard Drives, Raid Cards, Fiber Cards.
The 12 core machine is two 6-Core "Westmere" processors
The 8 core machine is two 4-core "Westmere" processors
The 4 core machine is one 4-core "Nehalem"
The Westmere is a improved variation of the nehalem. With great price performance ratio.
Westmare allow for 12 cores. The Westmere has 3 times faster AES, pages up to 1GB, and improved VMX. (better encryption and virtualization)
With two more cores, there is one third more heat. To compensate for more heat the processor runs at a slightly slower speed. You still get better performance; because you have more cores. When not all cores are in use, the other cores can actually run faster then the chip is rated.

  • How do I upgrade OS X 10.5.8 on my iMac with Intel duo core processor

I have an iMac 24" with 2,16 Ghz Intel Core Duo processor and 2Gb 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM running on OS X 10.5.8 to Lion?
I know I have to upgrade first to snowleopard???
If so SnowLeopard is not available in the iCentres etc.
    What to do??
    Brgds,
    Nils

Your iMac is a Core 2 Duo not a Core Duo according to this http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/stats/imac-core-2-duo-2.16-24-inch-sp ecs.html
Which is good since the specifications for OSX Lion require a Core 2 Duo as minimum processor:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
The road to OSX Lion requires you to have OSX Snow Leopard before which can be bought from Apples Online Store http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA but is not avaiable as a download.
After installation of OSX Snow Leopard and installation of neccessary updates to it you can then use the Mac App Store to buy OSX Lion and install it.
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/how-to-buy/
For OSX Lion an upgrade of your RAM to 4GB might be advisable.

From my personal experience, I wouldn't go for an Integrated card. This is one of the most important components for Photoshop, so invest in a decent graphics card (ATI or NVidia). It doesn't have to be a really exepensive one - I have been using ATI Radeon with 256MB of RAM on my Dell Studio for almost two years and it still rocks! (even when I work with 3D in Ps CS5 Extended).
I would also invest in more RAM (this can be added easily - I bought extra 4GB as my Studio came with 3GB).
I wouldn't worry about the processor - I'm on Intel Core 2 Duo - and it works very very well, it's very quick which is very important as I'm training Photoshop.
    I hope this helps.

    Hi HarmitClaire,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your MacBook Air is not charging as expected. In this situation there are troubleshooting steps that I would recommend. Please use the attached article as a resource for steps to help you resolve this situation.
Mac notebooks: All about batteries - Apple Support
    My battery is not charging
Confirm the correct wattage AC adapter for the computer. A power adapter rated for a lower wattage than is required for the system may not reliably charge the computer. • Intel Dual Core Processors

I know that the new iMacs have Intel Core 2 Processors in them, and I am considering buying one next summer. It will run at a speed of 2.4 GHz. I have just one question on speed. When a processor is "dual core", does it have two cores running at 2.4 GHz each, or is it two cores running at 1.2 GHz each to total 2.4 GHz?
P.S.- This does not affect my descision of buying a Mac.

No it's not the same as having a 4.8GHz single processor. Like Duane said the total processor speed is 2.4GHz. However with 2 cores it's just like having 2 processors running at 2.4GHz each. This means the system can handle multiple tasks very well but the over all processor speed is still 2.4GHz. How much better than a single processor this is solely depends on what kind of applications you are running. Some applications are written to use multiple cores and some are not. Over all Mac OS X is designed to use multiple cores and practically all of Apple's applications will as well. So even in the case of a particular Application that can only uses 1 processor, the benefit is the rest of your Apps including the system can still be utilizing the other core simultaneously.
When comparing the C2D to a faster clocked Pentium 4, besides it being multi-core, it also has a much more efficient architecture. It creates less heat and has a larger on chip cache. Both equates to a better performing chip even at a lower clock speed. However real time speed differences will again completely depend on what you are running in comparison.
As for the video GPU you might take a look at these comparisons:

    Single Core celeron at 2.2ghz?
Not even 3GB of ram is going to save you from this situation with the way the Intel HD graphics card is stealing your memory.
The first thing I would do if you have the time for it is get a nice drink and set it next to your computer, you are going to need it.
And remove all the try me and buy me stuff. Its going to take you at least 20 to 25 minutes to do.
After this, your computer should be speedier.
Some more things to consider. If you run MSCONFIG you can control on your computer the things that load up in the system tray. Be only sure to mess with the Start Up Try and not the other options.
A through explanation of how to use MSCONFIG can be seen on this page: http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/index.html

Can I Upgrade my computer to Lion.  I have a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo Processor.  My computer is 6 years old.  Right now I have Snow Leopard.

I have an old iMac about that age that I upgraded to Lion to test my 3rd party applications for compatibility. It upgraded quite simply. Please backup or save all your info/etc to an external CD/DVD/Hard drive, then try to run the installer. The Lion installer will analize your Mac for compatibility before it does anything, and will alert you to it's decisision. My 17" iMac is also 2 GHZ Intel core duo. Surprisingly for many of the things I use it for it works as good as my multi thousand dollar MacPro workstation. Best of luck. But Lion isn't compatible with many third party applications and drivers for printers; scanners; etc.

Until I installed the SMC FanControl application my screen would "break up" into strange patterns and then would eventually freeze.  Please help.

If you are trying to upgrade using a gray-faced OS X disk from another system, that won't work, as those disks are locked to the system types they are delivered with. You'll need to drop the $29 on a retail copy of Snow Leopard, which is available from the Apple online store. Note Snow Leopard requires 1GB minimum, and you may want at least 2GB for better performance.
