Interaction error 800a0e78

General project information
Using Captivate 5.5 to create quizzes.
Publishing to SCORM 1.2
Report Data: Quiz results and Slide Views
Reporting Level: Interactions and Score
I have changed the Interaction ID to text corresponding with the question rather that a seemingly random number.
The issue – When trying to view the details in our LMS the following error appears.
ERROR
clsOLEDB:openRecordset() : Conversion failed when converting the varchar value 'TCBYOTheft' to data type int.
ADODB.Recordset error '800a0e78'
Operation is not allowed when the object is closed.
/reports/reportViewer.asp, line 1724
Note: I beleive "TCBYOTheft" is the interaction ID of the first (randomized) question slide.
Any help would be appreciated.

The Interaction ID doesn't necessarily have to be an integer.  It just needs to be unique across the entire course.  I've never seen an LMS that demanded an integer for this ID.  I think your error might be due to the LMS encountering two interactions with the same ID.
Captivate will track and ensure that the Interaction IDs are unique for all scored interactions in a given project file.  But it obviously can't know about the interactions that might exist in another project file that you might happen to bundle up with this one as part of a multi-SCORM packaged course.  A randomly-generated integer is a good start, but for even greater insurance of uniqueness across larger multi-module courses, you need to go further.
The problem is that many authors use Captivate templates as a way to initialise course modules and if (like me) you have the quiz questions already set up ready to go in these templates so that you save formatting time, then the Interaction IDs are already allocated in the template, and will be inherited by the projects spawned from these templates. This can mean that more than one module in the course could potentially have an interaction with the same ID.
To get around this, Captivate provides a Quiz Setting for an Interaction ID Prefix so that you can tag all interactions in a project file as belonging to the same module.
So, if you KNOW that your project file will be part of a larger multi-module course, you can make sure each module's interactions are still unique by appending the prefix.
It's always a good idea once you've created your modules to go to Project > Advanced Interaction dialog and just make sure that all scored Interactions have the prefix.

  • Tab interaction error

I have a tab interaction on a left hand side of page. In one
of the tabs is a button interaction. When you click on the button,
it opens another tab interaction on the right hand side of the
page, now both set of tabs interactions appear. The tab
interactions work, but now that I have activated the second set of
tab interactions, it now affects the active tab mode of the first
    set of tabs.
For example in the first set of tabs, I have tabs 1-4. On
each tab you click you get the tab header changes to indicate it is
the active tab. Also, the relevant tab contents appear. However ,
when I activate the second set of tabs. The first set of tabs is
affected. The active tab now stays on tab 4, no matter which of the
other tabs you select. However I still get the correct tabs
contents of each tab I click in the first set of tab interactions.
    See interaction at:
    http://www.lshtm.ac.uk/dl/programme/sample/taberror/taberror.htm
click on tab 4, then on the cloud button, which will open a
two tab interaction to right. Now try and click on any of the tabs
in the first set of tabs and you will see that it will always
    default to tab 4

The answer to your question depends on exactly how this is
    built :-)

  • Never implemented exception handling  in Stored Procedures

I have lots of stand alone stored procedures callled from .NET 20 programs that follow the following pattern. They runn against Oracle 10.2 on Win2003. The only deviiation is a couple where I insert to temptables. I specify a parameter for messages but don't know the best way to implement for Oracle as well as any tips on ODP.NET/oracle interactions error handling.
    1. Is it recommended to implement exception handling in With Clauses?
    2. If there is an exception in one cursor's SQL, how do I still execute the second?
    3. Is it best in some circumstances to pass a null back to client and check for null in program?
From .NET programs I have run into a couple of problems.
    4. TNS packet failure.
Anyways any suggestions or experiences are welcome.

  • Get SQL Server default data path via ADO/C++?

    Hi,
I am trying to get the SQL Server default data path via ADO/Visual C++.
I find the SQL statements that will do that in
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1883071/how-do-i-find-the-data-directory-for-a-sql-server-instance/12756990#12756990
So I just concat all the statements above into a CString object strStatements, then try to open a recordset as follows:
    _RecordsetPtr m_pRecordset;
    m_pRecordset.CreateInstance(__uuidof(Recordset));
    m_pRecordset->Open(_bstrt(strStatements), _variant_t((IDispath *)m_pConnection, true), adOpenDymanic, adLockOptimistic, 0);
    m_pRecordset->MoveFirst();
The last MoveFirst statement will cause com_error, which said
    “ADODB.Recordset error '800a0e78'
Operation is not allowed when the object is closed.
It seems that there are no data in the recordset at all. What is the problem?
    Thanks

    Hello,
Which query statement did you used to get the database data and log file path? Can you get the result by run the query directly with SQL Server Management Studio? For example,
    SELECT SUBSTRING(physical_name, 1, CHARINDEX(N'master.mdf', LOWER(physical_name)) - 1)
    FROM master.sys.master_files
    WHERE database_id = 1 AND file_id = 1

  • Reporting Services Error after Interactive sorting and drill down in pps

    Hi
i have a report  that has a drill down option that shows all workgroups within a specific  parent group and an interactive sorting ass well on both columns  parent group &  workgroup
This is displayed  in pps combined with a SharePoint
---the problem is that after sorting the parent group column by name   i then press the drill through icon  (+) next to it hopping to see all workgroups related to each parent group
      - but instead
i receive this Reporting Services Error  :
The value for parameter 'SortItem' is not specified. It is either missing from the function call, or it is set to null. (rsMissingParameter) Get
    Online Help
If I don't press the sorting and just drill through it works fine. the sorting itself also works fine.
    any suggestions ?

    Hi Hyaron,
I am unable to reproduce the issue in my test environment. How did you add the drilldown feature? Were you doing that by setting visibility of the column or of the group? Please ensure to add the drilldown functionality by set the visibility of the workgroup
from the Grouping Pane in the Report Designer.
How did you add the Interactive Sorting on the headers of the two columns? Based on the drilldown functionality, the Interactive Sorting on the second column doesn’t work. So, you can move the Interactive Sorting on the second column. When configuring the
Interactive sorting on the first column, you should set the parent group to sort, and sort by the field that the parent group groups by.
    Hope this helps.

  • No such method error when launching the Interactive form

    Hi Experts,
I have developed a simeple Java Webdynpro application and added an Interactive form without any controls in it. Created the context with one value node and a binary value attribute.
I have assigned  value node to datasource and binary attribute to pdfSource. When I launch the application I am getting the following no such method error.
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com/sap/tc/webdynpro/clientserver/uielib/adobe/api/IWDInteractiveForm.setTemplateSource(Ljava/lang/String;)V
The currently executed application, or one of the components it depends on, has been compiled against class file versions that are different from the ones that are available at runtime.
If the exception message indicates, that the modified class is part of the Web Dynpro Runtime (package com.sap.tc.webdynpro.*) then the running Web Dynpro Runtime is of a version that is not compatible with the Web Dynpro Designtime (Developer Studio or Component Build Server) which has been used to build + compile the application.
My NWDS is of Version 7.0.06
and J2EE Engine is of Version 6.40.
any guess why I am getting this error.
    Thanks
    Chinna.

Issue solved. Compatablility issue NWDS 2.0 Version should use for NW 2004.

  • Error opening PDF downloaded from Interactive Report

hi -- I'm getting an error opening a PDF file downloaded from an interactive report.
I've seen on the forum that this could be related to the size of the file, but I've tried
this out on 10-row results (1k files) and it's still an issue.
I save the file to my file system. If I try to open it in Adobe Reader, I get:
File does not begin with '%PDF-'
    and
Adobe Reader could not open <filename>.pdf because it is either not a supported
file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email
    attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
If I try to open in Internet Explorer, I get:
File does not begin with '%PDF-'
Other users are having the same problem. Download to csv and open in Excel works fine.
Do I need to have special print attributes for this? I didn't think so... I'm just using the defaults
(response header = report settings, content disposition = attachment).
    Ideas?
    Thanks,
    Carol

    Hi,
I'm having the same problem that was described above, and my site does have BI Publisher installed, and it does successfully produce readable pdfs for many reports.
But there are other reports, even reports produced using the Apex Wizard and all defaults, that just keep producing the same Adobe Reader error reported above, ie
"Adobe Reader could not open <filename>.pdf because it is either not a supported
file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email
    attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."
    Any suggestions?

    Peter

  • Pagination Reset Error on Interactive Report

I have an interactive report that shows 15 rows per "page." My user clicks next page at the bottom to say the 3rd page (rows 31-45) and then clicks on a column header and types a valid value in the search box for the column. The interactive report then returns an error that says
Invalid set of rows requested, the source data of the report has been modified.
    Reset Pagination
I have an unconditional branch on the page that resets pagination. However, I don't believe the interactive report is actually submitting the page when it returns this result. Is this just a bug with interactive reports or did I miss something?
For reference, we're using Apex 4.0.2.00.07
    Theme 11. Green Spring

    Hi,
Bit same kind of post here

  • JavaScript error on Interactive Report

When clicking on the Magnifying glass of my interactive report search bar, I receive a JavaScript error.
Line: 2 Char: 15193 Error: Syntax Error
The page that I am navigating to has 2 regions. The first is an interactive report and the second is an html region that has an Iframe reference to another interactive report. Based upon the selection of a radio group, the corresponding region(interactive report) displays. All other interactive reports work fine when their pages don't have a region with a Iframe reference.
If I navigate to another page after the error occurs and then come back to the page, everything then works fine. The error only happens on the first use. I have installed the latest patch set for Apex 3.2 I currently am running 3.2.1.00.11. I read a bug on Metalink that referenced this javascript error, but applying the patch set does not seem to fix the issue. The bug was 8568894.
    Any help would be appreciated.

This might be useful for others also...
After hours and hours of debugging headers and responses and comparing pages to others which work, I realised that this interactive report's display condition is based on REQUEST = SUBMIT.
As such, the actions menu will NOT set the Request parameter when clicking in the actions menu and the Apex engine refuses to send anything back to the browser - not even an error message.
I'll raise a bug for this via Oracle Support.
    Cheers, Pete
