Interactive report - exclude a column  from download

We have an interactive report that is filtered, sorted, etc by the user to get the exact set of data that they need to download.
We need to download only certain columns of the report.
We don't want the users to have to hide columns.
I'm looking for something like the "include in export" that can be specified for each column in a standard report.
I don't see a place to set that in an interactive report.
Is there a setting that I've missed?
If not, any suggestions for possible solutions would be appreciated.
thanks

Hi,
You can set column conditionally by request.
E.g. columns that you do not like export set condition PL/SQL function body returning a boolean
RETURN NVL(:REQUEST,'EMPTY') NOT IN('CSV','XLS','PDF','XML','RTF');I did example

  • Features that are not supported by Excel in the browser and interactive reports will be removed from the saved copy

    I Created a power view in Excel 2013 and uploaded to my Power BI for o365 site.
    But when i click on my excel file it opens in browser,After that i click on File tab its showing me two option
    1. Save a Copy
    2.Download a copy
    When i click on save a copy its showing me an warning below
    Features that are not supported by Excel in the browser and interactive reports will be removed from the saved copy.
    Continue with Save?
    If i continue saving it only saves an excel files with data only not the power view which i want to save with applied filters.
    Please help me for this

    Just to clarify, when you hit the option of Save As Copy, the whole experience goes into a "read-write" mode in Excel services, which currently doesn't support authoring, just consumption of PowerView sheets.
    Two mitigations that come to mind:
    1. Download the copy (as Brad suggests), rename the file and upload.
    2. Use the send to option of SharePoint online, give the file the right target document library (can be the same as source) and rename the file:

  • What is the best way to display a Interactive Report having 20 columns

    Hi,
    I am having a Interactive Report having many columns (around 20).
    What is the best way to display that report...by default we have to scroll it horizontally to see all the columns.
    I want to avoid Horizontally Scrolling.
    Thanks,
    Deepak

    Hello Deepak,
    You mean apart from using a smaller font size or a bigger monitor?
    You can think about combining / wrapping columns (so more data in one column).
    Or hide some less important data and show that only on demand.

  • Change source (sql) of interactive report based on column value?

    I've got an Interactive report displaying 10 columns. What I'd like to do is show different columns depending on the value of the first column. All the rows in the result will have the same value in the first column.
    If value in column 1 (on any row) = 'aaaa' then
    display columns 1,2,3,4, 9, 10
    If value in column 1 (on any row) = 'bbbb' then
    display columns 1,2,3,4, 7, 8
    If value in column 1 (on any row) = 'cccc' then
    display columns 1,2,3,4, 5, 6
    Should i somehow make the sql query dynamically change or can I use apex to dynamically hide the columns I don't want in the interactive report?
    Appreciate if you could point me in the right direction...
    /A

    Hello Andy,
    You can solve that in your SQL query:
    select col1, col2, col3, col4
    ,   case col1
        when 'aaaa' then col9
        when 'bbbb' then col7
        when 'cccc' then col5
    end newcol5
    from tableYou may have to use to_char or to_number conversions when the datatypes of the col5,7 and 9 are different.

  • How to Use COLUMN NOPRINT - need to exclude one column from Select *

    Dear Friends,
    I need to exclude one column from a SELECT * query. Everytime the column data type is BLOB, I dont' want it to be part of my SELECT. After googling I found some info about NOPRINT but it doesn't seem to be working in my case. May be I am using it incorreclty.
    COLUMN FILE_DESC NOPRINT
    SELECT * FROM FILES;
    Where FILE_DESC is of BLOB datatype.Can I use it in my SELECT or it has to be used in Dynamic SQL? Is there any other option to achieve this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    COLUMN FILE_DESC NOPRINT
    affects all queries in the same SQL*Plus session (unless you cancel it with a COLUMN FILE_DESC PRINT command.)  It doesn't matter if those queries are static or dynamic.  As mentioned before, COLUMN is a SQL*Plus command.  If you using a different front end, then it may have a different way to hide specific output columns.
    Did you have a poroblem when you tried it?  Post a complete test script that the people who want to help you can use to re-create the problem and test their ideas.

  • Interactive Reports - group by in SQL - download reports doesn't work

    Hi,
    I have the following SQL as the region source of an interactive report.
    select SERVICELEVEL, SUM(CONTRACTVALUE), SUM(DOLLARVALUE), count(SERVICELEVEL) from "ACSPROD"."CONTRACT" where CONTRACTSTATUS='Active' group by SERVICELEVEL
    The report shows exactly as expected. I have also integrated BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.1 with APEX 3.2.0.00.27
    Problem 1
    The report download doesn't work for any of the formats (CVS/XLS/PDF/RTF). When I rewrite the SQL without the group by clause (not the wanted results), then the report downloads work.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Problem 2
    Irrespective of the above issue - when I add a sum aggregate and download the report (any format) - it doesn't show the summed value.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Please advise!
    Cheers
    Mynhardt

    Hi Pratadamski ,
    I could reproduce this issue at my end. This is a bug. So, I have filed on your behalf (6432429).
    When i use tables ( not views) directly in my SQL and use column alias for computed column, it does work fine!
    i.e., this query is good with databinding at designtime and runtime:
    SELECT ALL trip.PersonID,
                        COUNT(*) AS Num_Trips
    FROM trip
    GROUP BY trip.PersonIDThanks & Appreciate your feedback,

  • Interactive Report with Null Columns

    I've got a user who wants to export an interactive report, and he needs certain columns to appear on the export for him to fill the data in later (this is an intermediate step, while we work on getting all the data he needs in to the database). I've created the report query, and there are a handful of null/empty columns (to preserve the correct order for the export). When I try to add this query to APEX in an interactive report, I get a "ORA-00001: unique constraint (APEX_040000.WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_COLUMNS_UK2) violated" error.
    Googling around shows me that this happens because of similarly-named columns, and the solution is to provide aliases to all columns. My report has aliases on all columns, but I still cannot create an interactive report. I've tried changing the null columns to empty strings, as well as enclosing the aliases in double-quotes, but nothing works. I can however use my original query to create a standard report, but due to the export requirement, this isn't ideal.
    I was able to create the interactive report with one null column, and then edited the report source to add in the others. This had to be done one at a time, since trying to add multiple null columns at the same time gives the same error again. Unfortunately, when I try and run the page, I get an "ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00918: column ambiguously defined" error.
    My original query:
    select customer.customer_name as customer,
           project.name as project_name,
           trunc(project.estimated_end_dt) as due_date,
           project_status.project_status_desc as status,
           null as revenue,
           project.baseline_effort as baseline_hours,
           null as projected_cost,
           null as est_gain_loss,
           project.actual_hours as actual_hours,
           project.estimated_hours as projected_hours,
           null as projected_cost,
           null as projected_gain_loss,
           null as roi
        from project,
             customer
      where customer.customer_id = project.customer_id
      and project.inactive_ind = 0
      and project.customer_id is not null
      and project.estimated_end_dt >= :DTP_P50_STARTDT
      and project.estimated_end_dt <= :DTP_P50_ENDDT
    order by customer.customer_name,
             project.estimated_end_dt;             Can someone tell me a way to create an interactive report with multiple null columns?

    Hi shimmoril,
    The problem is likely that you have two columns aliased as "projected_cost" (7th column and 11th column).
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • Catch the onClick event on Interactive Report to access columns content

    Hi,
    I am using Apex 4
    I would like to display some rows into an interactive report. I have define a dynamic action on that report in order to catch the Mouse OnClick Event.
    The Goal is to display the detail of the row in a form region in the sidebar.
    To do this, I would like to get the content of a column of the row clicked and then execute a pl/sql block to get the detail of my row.
    I am stuck to get the content of the column I have clicked within the dynamic action to pass it to execute the pl/sql block.
    Any idee?
    Many thanks

  • Interactive Report with Checkbox column

    Hello everyone,
    our users love the Interactive Report filtering, so they want all forms in apps. to behave like Interactive Reports.
    I need a form where each row consists of 2 columns and a checkbox, that handles some flag. I can create checkboxes using APEX_ITEM, however, the filtering on such column look ridicolous. I would like to have a tabular form (with one editable checkbox column), but with all those Interactive Report filtering features.
    Is there any example (or inspiration) how to achieve such functionality?
    Thanks a lot!
    Adam

    Hello Adam,
    Why don't you just switch off the Filtering option for that column?
    (Go to the Interactive Report, click on your column, then in Column Definition you can (un)check the features for that column).

  • Interactive Report with many columns scroll possibility?

    Hello,
    i have an interactive report that has many columns. As so they cannot fit into a page and a scroll bar is used in the bottom of screen, which is not a desired effect.
    What i would like to do (if it's possible) is to have a scroll bar before the pager. Up to now i have found a "fix" for this problem but after the pager and it does scroll the rendering of the report but the pagers' also. My solution is to put the following code in the Region Definition, in Header and Footer group, in Header:
    <style type="text/css">
    #apexir_DATA_PANEL {
    clear:both;
    width:1220px;
    height:650px;
    overflow:auto;
    </style>
    That was in 3.2. Is there any other option/possibility or idea now with 4.0 ?
    TIA

    Hi TIA,
    I hope that following link will help you in regards to your query:
    Jon Fortney implemented and blogged on it: http://jfortney.blogspot.com/
    Alternatively, you can use ExtJS Grid or jQGrid functionality.
    This might help, Horizontal Scrollbar required in  Interactive Report

  • APEX Interactive Report - sum multiple columns table1 X with table2 value

    I have a challenge in oracle apex, were i want to sum multiple columns to give 3 extra rows namely points, Score, %score. There are more columns but chose only few for now.
    Below is an example structure of my data:
    Town | Sector | Outside| Inside |Available|Price
    Roy-----Formal----0----------0----------1------0
    Kobus Formal--0 ---------0--------- 1------0
    Wika ---Formal----0----------0--------- 1------0
    Mevo----Formal----1----------1---------1------0
    Hoch----Formal----1----------1---------1-------1
    Points--------------2----------2----------5-------1
    Score-------------10---------10---------10------10
    %score-----------20---------20---------50------10
    Each column has a constant weighting (which serves as a factor and it can change depending on the areas) in this case the weighting for this areas are the ones in the first row for the sector Formal:
    Sector |Outside| Inside |Available|Price
    Formal----1----------1 ----------1-----1
    Informal--1----------0 ----------2-----1
    I tried using the aggregate sum function in apex but it wont work since i need the factor in the other table. Which is where my challenge started
    To compute the rows below the report:
    points = sum per column * weighting factor per column
    Score = sum of no of shops visited (in this case its 5) * weighting factor per column
    % score = points/Score * 100
    The report should display as described above. With the new computed rows below.
    I kindly ask anyone to assist me with this challenge as i tried searchin on the internet for solutions but havent come across any.
    Thanks a lot for your support in advance!!

    I kindly ask anyone to assist me with this challenge as i tried searchin on the internet for solutions but havent come across any.How critical to the solution is using an interactive report? It would be much easier to do this in a standard report where you've complete control over the query SQL and the report structure.
    When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
    <li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
    <li>Theme
    <li>Template(s)
    <li>Region/item type(s) (making particular distinction as to whether a "report" is a standard report, an interactive report, or in fact an "updateable report" (i.e. a tabular form)
    With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.
