Interactive Report Russian Language Problem

Hello,
Entering Russian characters to search field of Interactive Report APEX transform it to another charset and I receive wrong result. For example entering КС I get РљРЎ, any ideas?

But I still can't understand why it happen only in Interactive Report!!!

Interactive Report NLS Language

I was wondering if you could help.
I have a combo box on a form region that selects a language. The idea of this is to change the number and date formats when displaying data in reports and on forms.
On my reports and forms my format strings are set to a page item e.g. :P10_CURRENCY_FORMAT which contains the oracle currency format I need, e.g. FML999G999G999G999G990D00.
I can then set the NLS_CURRENCY value by either altering the session or via the apex.util:
ALTER SESSION SET NLS_CURRENCY='£';
or
APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE','en-gb');
and the correct currency symbol appears in front of the number in the report.
This all works fine until I get to filtering interactive reports.
The problem is when I want to filter interactive reports all the currency settings are set back to the APEX defaults set in APPLICATION/GLOBALIZATION.
I then created a BEFORE HEADER process to alter the session, however when filtering interactive reports, the page isn't refreshed so this takes no effect.
So I have ended up with £ symbols in my report columns and when I filter it, they all change to $ symbols, the next page reverts back to £ until I filter again.
Am I going about it all the wrong way, or does anybody have any ideas?

This approach won't work with interactive reports as the Before Header process is not executed by the AJAX call that refreshes the report.
This is a deficiency in IR operation that we can hope will be addressed by a future enhancement to provide the ability to run processes pre- and post-IR refresh.
In the meantime, IR refreshes do run the Virtual Private Database PL/SQL call defined in the application security attributes, so putting the NLS modification code there will work. Go to Application > Shared Components > Edit Security Attribute | Virtual Private Database (VPD), and make the call from there. Due to the specific requirements of the code that has to be called from here when used for security purposes, this is probably best done by setting this up to make 2 separate calls to packages defined outside APEX, one to handle security-related details and the other to orchestrate any other code that has to be run. (For example, in this case it may not be desired to alter the NLS environment on every page, so the program could take a parameter specifying the current page and apply the ALTER SESSION conditionally on this.)

Interactive report - French language character problem

I made an Interactive Report with this table :

I have two rows in my table

When I click on the Column Filter of the column LOC. I have an javascript error and the loading icon doesn't stop.

Clearing Interactive Report, custom authentication problem

I have written my own custom authentication for my apex app. It calls a custom function in the db that looks in a table for user/password. It works fine. Login works and when I save sort order for standard reports, they are saved between sessions.
However, for my interactive report the sort orders on my Interactive reports are being reset each time the user gets a new session id.
I'm not sure why this is happening. Any suggestions or ideas on why this happens when I don't use 'user cookies' (standard apex login)?

are you sure you press on action (at report) --> save report --> change save "as named report" to "as default report settings" primary should be already marked the press Apply
this should work iam pretty sure...

Report Painter language problem

Hi,
When we logon to Report painter Reports in Polish Language, the report is not displayed in Polish Language.. but English language..
I have checked the following:-
1. PL language is maintained in GCRS T-Code.
2. The concerned GL also appears in SKAT table in PL language.
3. I have also executed GR59 to import it from Source client 000
4. Also executed GR55 to execute the report group.
5. Also checked SAP Note No. 719246.
The GL's despite that appears in English language and not in Polish Language.. Any idea what can be done to get the display in Polish language.

Report painter/Writer always creates a prerformance issue.i never preffred them since i have a option with Zreport
now you can do only one thing put more checks on selection-screen for filtering the data.i think thats the only way.

JDeveloper 10.1.2+Oracle 9.2 Russian language problems

When I used previous version of JDeveloper it was ok. Now I have 10.1.2 and it looks like "build yourself" version.
I have couple of terrible problems. I don't have an idea how to fix them. I am very nervous after trying to fix them during a day.
1) At first I had connection problem. When I was trying to connect to database I had
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-12705: invalid or unknown NLS parameter value specified
messages.
I decided it, when replaced jdbc drivers in JDeveloper by Oracle 9.2 jdbc drivers, as it is written here

2) It was impossible to "drag&drop" objects from database to any diagram (Database Diagram, Business Components Diagram). I was only possible to create Buisiness Components only from "create Business Components from tables" wizard. But it wasn't work properly. When I was trying to test B.C. with built-in tester I had an error.
I fixed this problem, when deleted JRE and JDeveloper from my computer, then install JDeveloper again.
3)Now, I have a problem! I can connect to database, I can also create BC Diagram, and test Business Services with tester. But I can't run the application! When I try to run jsp with embedded server I have 500: internal server error or just empty table.
I try execute SQL from the same table, and it was ok.
In LOG window I have

Problems with using special characters in Interactive Report Search

Hi!
I am currently developing an Application on Application Express 3.1.2.00.02 including a page with an Interactive Report, facing the problem that I cannot use special german characters in the Searchbar.
So if i try to find a name like 'Schröder' the created Filter looks like this 'SchrÃ¶der' and i won't get any valid search results. By the way the rest of the application supports these special characters like using them in Buttons or any other Page elements.
Does anyone have a clue how to fix this problem, because it's driving me nuts ;)

APEX_ITEM on Interactive Report losing all the data.

I'm having some troubles with some apex_items on interactive report.
The problem happens when i save the interactive report with apex_items and a validation in some of the items fail then i lose all the data entered.
I made i test application to you guys see the problem and try to solve it.

A example to test is type on the fields values and then type a start date bigger then the end date this is cause a validation error and you will see all your data entered lost.

I think there is a solution with java or pl/sql.
Try to use the example application and type values in the fields and then type "d" at some date. This will cause a exception and will redirect to a apex erro page, if you click at "ok link", you will come back to the interactive report page and you will see that all your data remains intact.
I think there is a solution...

Interactive report - how to change language in labels

Hello All,
I am writing an application, which uses an interactive report with all these great possibilities as: Sort, Filter, Control, Highlight, Aggregate etc.).
The problem is that some users do not understand English language and they would like to see equivalents for above labels in their home language :) (let's say - in polish).
Does anybody know how to do this?

Interactive Reports - problem with umlaute like 'ü'

Hello,
when i display an interactive report, all data and umlaute like "ü" was display correct.
But when i set an filter like "häuser" and then press search, the filtertext was changed to: 'hÃ¤user'.
Is this a language or character-set problem of the ajax engine?

Problems with Page Break in an Interactive Reporting report

Hello everybody,
Platform: Hyperion System 9.3.1.
I have serious problems in managing the 'page break' in an Interactive Reporting report.
The report shows sales data by store, with article and colour details and it is organized like this:
group 1: geographic area
group 2: country
group 3: city
group 4: store
columns: article, colour
facts: quantity, price, value
My client's request is to perform a page break at the store group level, meaning that apart from the first store occurance, any change in the store value shoul start a new page.
The requested result is like this:
page1: geographic area1
country1
city1
store1
data store1...
page 2: store2
data store2...
page3: store3
data store3...
I tried several combinations of using Break After and Break Before on the store group, with Keep Next / Keep Together and it was impossible to obtain the desired result.
If I use Break Before the result is as follows:
page 1: geographic area1
country1
city1
page 2: store1
data store1...
page 3: store2
data store2...
If I use Break After the result is as follows:
page 1: geographic area1
country1
city1
store 1
page 2: data store1...
store 2
page 3: data store2...
even if I specify 'Keep with next' or 'Keep together' for store group and the store data table.
Any help will be very very appreciated because I've been trying for weeks to figure out this issue.

First start without using any of the Keep with Next and Keep together.
Second. try putting the Page Break in the Group Footer. You do not need to keep it visible
Then you may want to repeat headers on Store in case the Store's Detail rolls onto next page

Problem with DATE in Interactive Report

Hello,
In Interactive Report when I click on the header of any column with DATE datatype, nothing happens due to Javascript error:

Click on any other column works perfectly as well as sorting by DATE column from Action Menu.
I tried to set different format masks for my DATE column and for Application Date Format, but it didn't help.
Finally I found out that this error disappeared when in properties of my DATE column in "List of Values" section I set "Report Filter Date Ranges" = 'Past' instead of 'All'. In this case I get the list with values "Last 5 Years", "Last 2 Years", etc, but not with "Next Hour", "Next 2 Hours", etc...
Can someone help me on this issue, because this functionality might be usefull and also it's not very convinient to change this property for all date columns in all Interactive Report.
By the way, my database version is 9.2.0.5 - maybe it can cause such problem?

Interactive report performance problem over database link - Oracle Gateway

Hello all;
This is regarding a thread Interactive report performance problem over database link that was posted by Samo.
The issue that I am facing is when I use Oracle function like (apex_item.check_box) the query slow down by 45 seconds.
query like this: (due to sensitivity issue, I can not disclose real table name)

, table_two b
WHERE a.col3 = 12345
AND a.col4 = 100
AND b.col5 = a.col5
table_one and table_two are remote tables (non-oracle) which are connected using Oracle Gateway.
Now if I run above queries without apex_item.checkbox function the query return or response is less than a second but if I have apex_item.checkbox then the query run more than 30 seconds. I have resolved the issues by creating a collection but it’s not a good practice.
I would like to get ideas from people how to resolve or speed-up the query?
Any idea how to use sub-factoring for the above scenario? Or others method (creating view or materialized view are not an option).

Okay, I have a million questions (could you tell me if both tables are from the same remote source, it looks like they're possibly not?), but let's just try some things first.
By now you should understand the idea of what I termed 'sub-factoring' in a previous post. This is to do with using the WITH blah AS (SELECT... syntax. Now in most circumstances this 'materialises' the results of the inner select statement. This means that we 'get' the results then do something with them afterwards. It's a handy trick when dealing with remote sites as sometimes you want the remote database to do the work. The reason that I ask you to use the MATERIALIZE hint for testing is just to force this, in 99.99% of cases this can be removed later. Using the WITH statement is also handled differently to inline view like SELECT * FROM (SELECT... but the same result can be mimicked with a NO_MERGE hint.
Looking at your case I would be interested to see what the explain plan and results would be for something like the following two statements (sorry - you're going have to check them, it's late!)

AND   b.col5 = a.col5If the remote tables are at the same site, then you should have the same results. If they aren't you should get the same results but different to the original query.
We aren't being told the real cardinality of the inners select here so the explain plan is distorted (this is normal for queries on remote and especially non-oracle sites). This hinders tuning normally but I don't think this is your problem at all. How many distinct values do you normally get of the column aliased 'x' and how many rows are normally returned in total? Also how are you testing response times, in APEX, SQL Developer, Toad SQLplus etc?

I am dealing with many interactive projects in my application. Sometimes I have to add a column to the interactive report. When I do so, the column doesn't appear in the interactive report...On the page I have to click on "Actions" then go to "Selected columns" and then display it ! the problem is when I logout and login again
the column desappear again and I have to do samething again and again...Is there a way to set it appear by defaul always ???

Double click on interactive report problem

Hi All,
I have a problem in interactive report, I copied a interactive list report program and I pasted in the new program. when I double click on first list display, it is not taking to the second list display whereas it is working fine in the old program which I copied.
