Interactive Report Tabs

My business users are using the interactive reports to generate complex ad-hoc reports which they are then saving and creating a new tab.
However, they are finding that after a certain time these reports are no-longer relevant.
Is there any way that a saved report tab on an interactive report can either be deleted or renamed?

Hi Jon,
The savedreport can be renamed by clicking the 'Saved report = "reportname"' link on the report tab. Left of this link you can find a "Delete report" button.

  • Modifying Interactive Report - Tabs

    Hi
    is it possible to change the colour of the tabs that are generated when you save an Interactive Report?
    As an example, I have created an interactive report added some filters and then saved the report. I now get two tabs in my interactive report:
    Working Report
    New Report
    the background colour of these tabs is orange, and I wondered if it is possible to modify this, so that it is more inline with the look and feel of our application.
    Many thanks

  • How do I retrieve the Current Interactive Report Tab Identification

    I have found the FLOWS_030100.Tables.WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEETS and related tables which contain the information relating to the Interactive reports.
    I am writing a Procedure which need the 'Conditions' relating to a Saved Report tab of a Interactive report.
    I am able to retrieve the some current info via 'Substitution Strings' like:
    Flow_ID via APP_ID
    Page_ID via APP_PAGE_ID
    Session_ID via APP_SESSION
    This info will get me to the WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_RPTS table which relates to the individual Saved Reports for a IR.
    But if I have multiple Saved Reports on a single IR, I need to find the WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_RPTS.ID to be able to find the related rows on the WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_CONDITIONS table.
    Is there a location where I can find the current IR information like the 'Substitution Strings' I listed above that will get me this info?
    How would you attack this problem?
    Thanks

    Trying to report off of an interactive report conditions reliably will lead you down a long road of frustration. Getting the current tab ID is not too tricky here is some JS to get you started:
    function getCurTab() {
      //alert('function called');
      //Populate the array with all the page tags
      var tabs = $x('apexir_REPORT_TABS').getElementsByTagName("span");
      //Cycle through the tags using a for loop
      for (i=0; i<tabs.length; i++) {
        //alert(tabs.className);
    //Pick out the tags with our class name
    if (tabs[i].className=='current') {
    //Manipulate this in whatever way you want
    alert(tabs[i].id);
    setTimeout("getCurTab()",5000);
    getCurTab();
    This is just a rough and dirty example. This could greatly be improved by using jQuery and an onclick event rather than the timeout. So dont use this in any sort of production environment.

  • Interactive Report tab seperator

    Greetings,
    I use apex 4.0 without the latest patch releases. I want to download csv files with separator as tab instead of comma, how can I do that?

    But I need a better solution because I cannot change excel settings of every client using my app. I'm using firefox by the way.
    Thanks for sharing Chris. I really appreciate your answers and be happy to hear further from you with other advices. And I'd be glad to share through this topic if I come up with a solution.
    If anyone out there have an idea about my problem, it would be great to hear them. I need to separate my data in interactive report in different excel cells without changing any settings on client side. This is a crucial point to decide whether to use apex 4.0 interactive reports or not as pivot tables in our new project. Maybe I'm missing something very easy or I need a third party tool for excel download but I need to know as soon as possible. Thanks.

  • Multiple interactive reports/tab. forms: future or everlasting expectation?

    At the end of September, the statement of direction for APEX is updated for 4.2.
    I notice that there's not a word anymore about the possibility to use multiple interactive reports and tabular forms on one page (declarative, without the tricks described in so many blogs and forums).
    Does this mean that it will never be possible or just not yet in 4.2?
    Thanks in advance for any enlightening comment about this :-)
    Regards,
    Bart

    Bart, Joe,
    Thanks for bringing this enhancement request up again. Allowing for multiple tabular forms or multiple interactive reports on one page is still a feature that we’re considering for a future release of Oracle Application Express. But we honestly don’t know yet whether this is going to make it into APEX 4.2 or a later release. And yes, there’s certainly a chance that this may proof to be too disruptive to the current implementation, and thus require a different approach. I realize this isn’t the answer you were looking for, but all we can say that we’re still actively looking into making this possible as a standard feature.
    Regards,
    Marc

  • Get Report_Id of Interactive Report

    I am atempting to get the report id of the currently selected report in a specific page.
    The problem is that here are several diferent views (SAVED REPORT) and i don't how how to get the currently selected in the session.
    How can I do that?
    Thanks
    Pedro

    The report is selected using the interactive report tabs from the previous saved reports.
    I have been trying this:
    Javascript & 'apexir_REPORT_ID'
    but it fails because the value is always the same, the based_report_id of the Working directory, not the selected tab (interactive report save).
    Any thougths??

  • Standard jQuery tabs and an interactive report as a "tab" sub-region

    Hi all,
    I have a standard, simple implementation of jQuery tabs following the exact instructions by Patrick via this thread:
    Re: New themes in APEX 4 not working with JQuery tabs
    As one of the "tabs" (sub-regions), I want an interactive report. I use "no template".
    Problem is that when the IR is in a tab, the pop-up column menus and such are no longer aligned, e.g. I click one of the column headers of the IR and the pop-up menu shows up much lower on the screen than it should -- sometimes off the screen if I have another region above. Can anyone assist? Maybe it's a DIV tag conflict between the jQuery template and the built-in IR?
    Here is my example app:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=19782:1
    Also another issue I've never seen quite resolved -- on "tab2" in the above app, you see what happens when you actually use a template in the sub-region. It breaks off the encompassing parent tab.
    Sorry, if I was more savvy in the display options, I could probably solve all this -- so I'm hoping somebody else is or has already solved it and can share. Thanks so much!
    David

    If anyone is interested, I finally found the answer to this issue. It's all here:
    http://www.apex-blog.com/oracle-apex/using-jquery-to-fix-broken-apex-interactive-report-drop-down-menus-150.html
    Very special thanks to Stephen Blair (who owns the blog above) for the simple solution! Thanks Stephen!

  • Interactive Reporting - Button opens report in another tab

    Hi all,
    i need a help in interactive reporting. I have a dashboard in the first page, which allows the users to select a value from a prompt. Once the value is selected, they press a button and the filtered report is opened. Does anyone knows if it's possible to make the button open the report in another page/tab?
    Thanks in advance,
    Daniele

    This can be like
    instead of showing report on the page show as a link and set to open in new window.
    that would be like; you select value from prompt and then hit on Go button and then click on report link.

  • BUG? Interactive report select other tab results in Page not found

    Hello all,
    Recently I have updated our Apex install to version 4.0.1 on Oracle 11.2. There I found the following problem, for which I don't know if it is a bug or not:
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Select a sample application and open a page that contains an interavtive report
    2. Run the page
    3. Click on "Actions" and select "Filter"
    4. Wait for the filter to show and then select any other tab.
    This results in a page not found. The address bar shows the link: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept without any parameters.
    I have tried to use another template and finally I turned to the sample applications. There this issue can also be found.
    My questions:
    1. Is this problem already known
    2. Is there a work around? because this can be very annoying for our customer.
    Thanks!
    Mark.

  • Mixing of interactive report and classic report fails the RESET PAGINATION process.

    I have a tab page where i got 3 different reports REPORT_A (classic), REPORT_B(interactive)  and REPORT_C (CLASSIC) in the same alphabetic order. I have a reset pagination page process which will always fire (without any condition) when you visit the page via tab.
    The reset pagination process which exists in the before header stage is firing but not resetting the interactive report. It does affect the subsequent classic report REPORT_C as well. The REPORT_A would reset pagination fine since it exists before the interactive report. Is this a know bug in apex?
    I created a test demo application with exact steps to reproduce the problem. The steps are in the demo website itself.
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=56638
    U: testuser
    P: password
    Apex Version: 4.2.4.00.08
    In my real application i would have a dropdownlist in the page based on which I would filter the data. The dropdownlist will have a corresponding after-submit branch which will handle the reset pagination & RIR absolutely fine. But when we visit the website through tab the above problem would crash the page.
    I tried solutions like gReport.search('SEARCH') but that will fix only the interactive report, not the classic REPORT_C. That is just a hack anyway.
    Any ideas.?

    This makes very little sense to me. Please explain this in detail. Are you advocating making changes to APEX metadata by executing DML on tables in the APEX_040200 schema? Doing so will leave your APEX instance in an unsupported an possibly inoperable state.

  • Displaying title on Interactive Report

    Folks, there should be an easy solution to this, but I can't find it.  I'd like to be able to display a title on my interactive reports.  I'm using the "IRR Region Template," and using another one isn't an option (b/c the other ones don't properly display wide reports).
    I'm guessing the IRR Region Template doesn't include the #TITLE# substitution string, but can it?  Can #TITLE# be added?  Or can I accomplish this simple requirement via some other fashion?
    Thanks
    Rob

    Question:  Where do you want the title to appear on the page?
    I'm not familar with this IRR Region Template.  Is it borderless or does it have a title "area"?   If it has a title area, it ought to have a #TITLE# substitution string for that area?   You say "I'm guessing ..."   Can you take a look at the template and tell us what's there?   Do you know how to look at the templates?
    I added a simple title as a display-only page item on a report.  But that's pretty limited as there is only so much display room between the page tabs and the search box.  You could also concatenate an application item to the application title and set it to the report title you want when the page displays.

  • Control on Interactive Report Data displaying

    Hi All,
    We are using APEX 4.0.
    Here are the few things that I am trying to accomplish -
    I have created a few interactive reports in different tabs. Each report takes 4 parameters from the screen, and the values get to carry to the next report.
    1. When users first come in to the tab, I don't want the report to be displayed until the SUBMIT button is clicked.
    Currently, we have created an item (dis_flag) and use 1 or 0 to control the display. But, the page always get requery after the users browsing to other tabs and come back. Any other methods that you can advise?
    2. Once the submit button is clickeded, the data should be kept on this page even after the users browsing around the application. No data should be change, until the SUBMIT button is been clicked again. Any ideas on this one?
    The reason that we don't want the report to be displayed first is because the data is huge, and if this is running at the first, some users maybe thinking that something is wrong on the page. That's why we want them to click on submit, so, they know they need to wait. Also, since the report can be huge, we don't want this to be re-query again and again while users are browsing around the application.
    Thank you for any advises that you can give!

    rephase the question

    1 . Put a condition on the interactive report to stop it running when you first display the page - I think you have done this already.
    2. Enable caching for that page (go to the Server Cache tab on Edit Page) - this will also need a condition so that you can actually refresh the report when you need to.
    This should make the browser use the cached version of the report (i.e. the one you ran originally) until you tell it not to.

  • Interactive Report Attributes: Missing a column?

    This is for Application Express 3.2.1.00.12
    I'm working on a report with the columns pulled in a SQL statement in the Region Definition section of the Interactive Report Attributes screen. We want to alter the column names so they are more user friendly, so on the Report Attributes tab, I'm looking for the column name we wish to alter, but it is not showing up. Now, in the final report, the column is visible with the header from the name of the column from the database, so the system is aware of the column and can display it, but for some reason we can't see it in the Report Attributes tab.
    Why would a column be invisible or inaccessible in the Report Attributes tab? There are 100 columns displayed in the Report Attributes: Column Attributes section. Is that the reason I'm missing some columns; 100 is a hard column limit on that page?
    Thanks in advance for all help you can provide.
