Interactive reporting in crm 7.0

Hi,
Before upgrading existing crm 5.0, we are studying features and functionalities on crm 7.0 ides system. we are on reporting functionality. we have following doubts, request to please help us:
1. on ides 111 is a default client created for reporting purpose. do sap create the same client in new installations also or we create any client in crm 7.0 system dedicated for reporting purpose?
2. once we will upgrade crm 5.0 to crm 7.0, do we need to create any client for the same purpose?
3. in theory (CRM Interactive Reporting - C41) there are 2 type of clients: CRM interactive reporting and BI interactive reporting. What is the difference except the use based on data volume?
4. after interactive reporting in crm 7.0, is crm 7.0 completely removing the use of bi system?

    Yes you can access BI interactive reports in CRM client itself.
    2. If we don't maintain the users in the Central User Administration, What will be the impact?
    BI reports will not work when the users are not maintained in the central user administration

  • CRM Interactive Reports - CRM and BI Reporting client same

    Hello all,
    I am setting up CRM Interactive reports in CRM 7.0 wherein the CRM client and the BI Reporting client are both the same. I know it is not recommended by SAP, but our requirement is very less.
    I am following the steps as mentioned in the Best Practices C41. But, when I am trying to set up a source SAP system in RSA1(Section 4.14 of C41), i get an error saying that 'Source system XXXCLNTYYY already exists'. This is the same system which has already come under the BI node in RSA1.
    Since we are using the same client for both the systems, how do I rectify this error?

    Dear Srinivas,
    One of the purposes of CRM Interactive reporting is quick-enablement of frequently used reports. Ofcourse these differ in all aspects with BI reports. These are faster and accurate when the data population is small.
    It is not suggested to use dedicated BI server for Interactive reporting.
    Anyways we can use both Interactive and BI reports simultaneously as per your client's requirement.

  • CRM Interactive Reports Activation

    Hi All
    We need to activate de Interactive Reports in CRM But we don't know what to do with the BI Client.
    BI Cliente is a BI product Installed in the Same Sever, but in different Client? Or we just have to customize the the Analytics part in CRM?
    Our Basis consultant is lost about it.

    The BI Report reuse component can be used to display any BI report based on the BW 3.x Template technology inside of the CRM 2006s UI Framework. As any other reuse component it can be embedded in a viewset or navigated to the components window. It can be used in workcenter pages and overview pages.
    The Customizing is maintained in view cluster CRMVC_GEN_UI_BE.
    Use transaction CRMC_UI_BI to call the customizing. This should give an fair idea about your question.

  • Interactive reporting power user create wizard

    Hi,
    i have configured interactive reporting in CRM 7.0. I have SAP_CRM_OR_ADMIN and SAP_CRM_OR_ACTIVATE and SAP_CRM_OR_USER roles assigned to power user.
    i am able to assign work centers Report_sch to CRM_MASTER_PROFILE_ALL and in generic OP mapping i have assigned object types CRM_OR_WIZ to create and edit.
    But when i logged in as power_user and IC_MANAGER business role i am not able to see the create wizard.
    How to bring the create wizard for manager role.

  • CRM Interactive reports not loading any data on WEB UI

    CRM BI client is setup properly by following CRM IR config guide C41.
    /CRMBW/CONFIG_WIZARD doesn't show any major errors. I am able to create
    the custom interactive reports but when these reports are executed no
    data shows up in the report.For example ,we are building interactive
    reports under opportunities area for a user, who has opportunities in
    the system.
    Our CRM Sytem is on CRM7.0 EHP1 SPS3.

    Hi Thirumala,
    if still relevant (sorry for the late reply): check if the user is assigned to a business partner (employee), which is assignet to a correct position in the CRM Org model, and that this business partner is the employee responsible of the sales documents you want him to see in the reports.
    Alternatively, the user's business partner can be a manager of such an employee.

  • CRM Interactive reporting, error while running RSA1

    Hello Experts,
    I had configured CRM 7 with BI 7 system for reporting. Now I am trying to implement CRM interactive reporting using a different client (as reporting client) of the same CRM system.
    While my CRM - BI scenario is working perfect, I am not able to configure the CRM interactive reporting using 2 different clients of the same system, When I am trying to run tx RSA1 from CRM reporting client, I get error "Logical system name has been changed".
    Can anyone help me in this?

    There must be some error in your logical system assignment.
    I request you to run these reports  Z_OLTP_CONFIG_CHECK ( In CRM Client ) and     Z_OLTP_CONFIG_CHECK_BI( Reporting Client) in order to resolve the errors. These reports will clearly point out the errors.

  • SAP CRM 7.0 - Interactive reporting tool enhancing reports with new fields

    Hi Everyone,
    I am a BW Professional, currently working on evaluating the true benefits of implementing Interactive Reporting tool for our company. As I understand the Interactive reporting tool restricts us to report on individual reporting areas like Activities, Leads, Opportunties etc.
    But according to our business it is very important for us to be able to report on cross reporting areas real time i.e. activities & leads together or activties, leads & opportunties together etc.
    I learned about the enhancement work bench in interactive reporting tool where we can add SAP fields to individual reporting areas, so I thought of adding leads & opportunties to activities. This is where the fun part starts.
    Here I learned that all activty ID, Lead ID and Oppo ID are all fed from one single field from SAP CRM i.e. OBJECT_ID, which means the system is dividing this data into individual reporting areas based on type of data i.e. leads or oppor's etc. and may be based on some key like account etc. So here is a technical question, for me to add a new field to a reporting area I have to give a field name but we already have OBJECT_ID from where I am pulling activties data, so if I want to include leads also in activties then I will have to add some logic manually to get that and can't use enhancement workbench because it is for missing fields from SAP CRM whereas in my case I already have OBJECT_ID from where I am getting Activity data.
    Sorry if I am driving you guys crazy but I am just trying to think loud to make myself clear with concepts.
    Also I have seen that a reporting area in Interactive reporting tool is based on a BW query, but I am not sure why not all the fields in BW query are available for reporting in Interactive reporting tool?
    Any help or commets will be greatly appreciated.

    checking with the config wizard is always a good idea since it's the only supported way to configure this scenario
    The secret is that you apparently did not activate the report areas. It is a bit missleading that the queries are checked before the report areas are checked, therefore you see the errors concerning the queries first. Below those errors you should find some lines like
        Report areas: delivered 15, active <?>
        CRM interactive reports: delivered 20, active <?>
        Activation of report areas checked
    The last line offers some documentation and the actual link to activate the report areas.

    I am trying to use SAP CRM Interactive reports. I am aware that we don't need a separate  BW serve for it. Do we need a separate local BI client or can we just use them through the IC_MANAGER Role?
    What are the settings to enable interactive reports?
    How can I create Interactive reports through the Analytics role?

    How to load the data the data into datasources.

    Also, did you activated Technical content:
    After calling transaction RSA1, check activation status of technical BI content with transaction RSTCO_ADMIN.

    Hi Everyone,
    I am trying to enhance the SAP given reporting areas in CRM Interactive Reporting tool. I have the SAP documentation, I know I have to use transaction code CRMD_IREW; but I am not sure of the rest of the steps SAP has given.
    Does anyone has any experience with this; can anyone share their thoughts and possible configuration steps and if possible please give a brief overview of how the fields get added to the reporting area, do they get added to the datasources first and then we need to manually add them to the virtual cubes and also in BEx query and then it gets reflected in Reporting area or how does it work?
    Any inputs will be greatly appreciated!

    In general, we add enhanced field to extract structure by appending method.
    later we  can implement logic at COMD or by using BADI to fill the data for added field.
    do test run at RSA3 and replicate into bw side.
    About CMOD Logic, WIth help abap epxert you need to find relation between data source base tables and added field base table. then only we can fill data to into it.
    Can we know what is your data source?
    Which field you want add from which table?

    I would like to know whether anybody has positive experience with the enhancement of CRM Data Sources for interactive Reporting. I read that the enhancement of Customer fields should be possible (Those Data Sources below the Hierarchy node /CRMBW/ROOT).
    I have seen that the extract structure can be enhanced via RSA6 (as for other data sources).
    Questions:
    1. Which USEREXIT / BADI has to be used to fill the added fields?
    2. Does it work?

    Those DS are not meant to be enhanced manually but only by one of the following two ways:
    1. Adding custom fields with the Application Enhancement Tool (AET) in the CRM UI.
    2. Adding SAP fields with the Interactive Reporting Enhancement Workbench (IREW).

  • BI Interactive Reporting and Data Extractor, CRM 7.0

    Dear Gurus,
    We run CRM 7.0 (CRM) on our system including a BI client (REP). I did setup interactive reporting for Lead Management following the config guide.
    All settings in CRM client and REP client are done and no errors are left. Also, the reports were created in the web-ui. My user is flag as "manager" in the organizational modell.
    The only issue I see now is that the data extractor in CRM (CRM) does not show any data.
    Does anybody have a hint what could be the issue here?
