    Hi Brian,
    OAF supports the master-detail based design. You can very well implement your model. You can use 2 VO for your 2 objects and link them using a ViewLink. Check OAF Dev guide for more details.

    ..i dont have jspI did not mention JSP. Pure J2SE code can produce HTML, though if done in a web-app., it would generally be done using JSP or Servlets.
    Here is an example of producing HTML in J2SE.
    import javax.swing.*;
    class HtmlTable {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              int[][] values = {
                   {1,3894,5387},
                   {2,4112,4459},
                   {3,4886,6076}
              String prefix = "<html><body><table>\n";
              final StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(prefix);
              sb.append("<tr>");
              sb.append("<th>");
              sb.append("Month");
              sb.append("</th>");
              sb.append("<th>");
              sb.append("Unit A<br>Sales");
              sb.append("</th>");
              sb.append("<th>");
              sb.append("Unit B<br>Sales");
              sb.append("</th>");
              sb.append("</tr>\n");
              for (int ii=0; ii<values.length; ii++) {
                   sb.append("<tr>");
                   for (int jj=0; jj<values[ii].length; jj++) {
                        sb.append("<td>");
                        sb.append("" + values[ii][jj]);
                        sb.append("</td>");
                   sb.append("</tr>\n");
              sb.append("</table>");
              sb.append("</body>");
              sb.append("</html>");
              Runnable r = new Runnable() {
                   public void run() {
                        JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(
                             null,
                             new JTextArea(sb.toString(),20,10) );
                        JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(
                             null,
                             new JLabel(sb.toString()) );
              SwingUtilities.invokeLater(r);
    As an aside, those terms are HTML (an abbreviation) Java (a proper name) & JSP (an abbreviation). Please try to use correct upper/lower case when using technical terms.

  • Iterate through all the records in a table using Java API

    Hi All,
    What is the easiest way to iterate through all the records in a given table using Java API? I cannot find any methods that will return all records in a table and the only way I can use is to perform a free form search with a condition that is always true. The code works but is pretty ugly. Is there an alternative to this approach?
    Thanks!
    Kenny

    Hi Kenny,
    You can construct a new Search object with your table's code name, a new ResultSetDefinition object for your table and just execute this search using the GetResultSet method of CatalogData.
    Please look at the following code:
    Search search = new Search(<code name of your table>);
    ResultSetDefinition rsd = new ResultSetDefinition(<code name of your table>);
    rsd.AddField<code name of a field>);
    rsd.AddField(<code name of a field>);
    String sortField = <code name of your sort field>;
    boolean sortAscending = true;
    int page = 0; //page number
    A2iResultSet rs = <your CatalogData object>.GetResultSet(search, rsd, sortField, sortAscending, page);
    for (int i = 0; i < rs.GetRecordCount(); i++)
        Value fieldValue = rs.GetValueAt(i, <code name of a field>);
    Hope this helps,
    Nir
    PS - I really recommend you to start using the new API, as it is much more efficient and straight-forward.

  • Performance issue during SharePoint list data bind to html table using Ajax call(Rest API)

    Hello,
    I am having multiple lists in my SharePoint Site. I am using SharePoint REST APIs to get data from these lists and bind a HTML Table. Suppose, I have 5 lists with 1000 records each, I am looping 5000 times to bind each row(record) to this html table. This
    is causing performance issue which is taking a very long time to bind.
    Is there any way So that I can reduce this looping OR is there any better approach to improve the performance. Please kindly Suggest.  Thank you for your help :)
    Warm Regards,

    Hi Racha,
    For handling large data binding in a page,
    AngularJS would be a great option if you might would worry about the performance.
    You can get more information about using AngularJS from the two links below:

  • Edit HTML File using java

    Hi....
    I have a report in HTML format and a list of thresholds in txt format.
    Now, using java how can I:
    1. Compare the values in the report with the thresholds
    2. Edit the report such that values over the thresholds are highlighted in say, red colour.
    I am new to Java programming, so java jargons won't be of much help. I read about jeditorpane but it's primary use is to display html file(that is what i inferred). Is their a way in which i could accomplish the above using jeditorpane??....how do i do the comparison part??

In addition, JTidy provides a DOM interface to the document that is being processed, which effectively makes you able to use JTidy as a DOM parser for real-world HTML."Yes, I did. • Creating XML from Relational Tables using java

    I would like to create an XML document by querying relational tables in java
    try {
            connection = getConnection();
            final String qryStr = "select XMLElement( foo, 'bar' ) from dual";
            final OracleXMLQuery qry = new OracleXMLQuery(connection, qryStr);
            final String xmlString = qry.getXMLString();
    I would expect this to give the following result that I get from running the statement in SQL Developer
    select XMLElement( foo, 'bar' ) from dual
    <FOO>bar</FOO>
    Instead I get
    <?xml version = '1.0'?>
    <ERROR>oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: Character ')' is not allowed in an XML tag name.</ERROR>
    Is this the correct way to go about this?

    Is this the correct way to go about this?
    Not really.
    OracleXMLQuery class is the Java-side implementation of DBMS_XMLQUERY APIs.
    It's mostly designed to generate a canonical XML document out of a SQL query.
    Assuming a query like "SELECT col1, col2 FROM my_table", the resulting XML should appear like this :
    <ROWSET>
      <ROW>
        <COL1>123</COL1>
        <COL2>ABC</COL2>
      </ROW>
      <ROW>
        <COL1>456</COL1>
        <COL2>XYZ</COL2>
      </ROW>
    </ROWSET>
    So in your test, since the resulting column is not aliased (XMLElement), you're actually trying to generate something like this :
    <ROWSET>
      <ROW>
        <XMLELEMENT(FOO,'BAR')>
          <FOO>bar</FOO>
        </XMLELEMENT(FOO,'BAR')>
      </ROW>
    <ROWSET>
    which of course is invalid, hence the error message.
    If you want to generate only <FOO>bar</FOO> as output, just use a regular PreparedStatement with your query and access the document in the ResultSet with the proper getter.

    https://help.sap.com/javadocs/MDM71/current/API/index.html
    The code give the expected result and retrieves the record count for the main table

    I added the lines:
    Record[] records = recordResultSet.getRecords() ;
    FieldId[] fields = records[0].getFields();

    and the output is::
    Field Length = 0
    How can I get the fields of the record and read their values?
    Thanks
    Nicolas

    Assuming you want every field, the equivalent of "SELECT *" in SQL, you can use the RepositorySchema object to get a TableSchema, and with that get all FieldIds for the table.
    If your RepositorySchema variable is rs it would be something along the lines of:
    TableSchema mainTableSchema = rs.getTableSchema(mainTableId);
    ResultDefinition rd = new ResultDefinition(mainTableId);
    rd.setSelectFields(mainTableSchema.getFieldIds());
    Hope this helps,

    You need authorization to the S_TABU_DIS object, talk with the ABAP basis team about this to find the more restrictive role.
    It's not a good idea to use the RFC_READ_TABLE, for the wide permissions needed. You could think to develop a Z RFC for this.  You can check pros/cons in this document: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a83ec690-0201-0010-14ac-bd1d75e24a7d?overridelayout=t…

    So you want us to write it for you? It's pretty straight forward, first parse the xml file with the *[best java xml parser|http://www.google.com/search?&q=parsing+xml+in+java]* and then go through the nodes and construct the html with strings and concatination. Then write the file using *[the best java file writer|http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=writing+to+a+file+in+java]*.
