Interface Mngr: Option for Uploading file from presentation or unix server

Hi all,
I want to upload file through interface manager where the file can be on the presentaion server or the unix server. How do i achieve the same? I need to create parameters for 'Filename' and 'Unix Filename'. Either of the 2 will be chosen at a time. But how do i retrieve the respective file?

For handling a file on the apllication server (unix), you have to use the OPEN DATASET, CLOSE DATASET commands.
For handling the files on the presentation server (local PC), you have to use the upload/download method (GUI_UPLOAD, GUI_DOWNLOAD function elements).
You can make 2 parameters in your ABAP program like this:
PARAMETERS: p_f_app LIKE rlgrap-filename.
PARAMETERS: p_f_pre LIKE rlgrap-filename.
both is filled - error
IF NOT p_f_app IS INITIAL AND
NOT p_f_pre IS INITIAL.
MESSAGE E001(ZERROR).

Upload pdf file from frontend to unix server

I want to upload a file from frontend to unix server.
The following coding transfers the file to the unix server. But the file is corrupted.

Hello, How do I tell sql+ to spool output file from windows to Unix server?
I am new to SQL+ and just learned how to spool the file. But file is saved in my local windows enviroment and since it's 2GB in size...I want to spool it directly to another remote unix server.
Pls answer in detail... I have been to most of the thread and didn't see relevant answer to above question.
Am I suppose to develope some script which FTP the spool file directly to the server I want to
or
i Have to use UTL_FILE Package ?

You may not be able to...
SQL*Plus can only spool to the local machine. If you have mapped a directory on the Unix server from your Windows machine, you can specify that directory in your SPOOL command.
You could telnet to the Unix server, run SQL*Plus there, and spool the file to a local (Unix) directory.
If the Unix server is also the Oracle database server, you could use the UTL_FILE package rather than using SQL*Plus to spool a file.
If the Unix server is also an FTP server, you could also FTP the file from your local machine to the server.
Of course, I would tend to re-examine a requirement to regularly generate a 2 GB text file. It seems likely that there is a better way...

hi, yesterday discover article from otn about uploading file from clients filesystem to web application server.
but how about uploading from clients filesystem directly into database column? (i'm talking about forms application via web server, btw, not c/s app)
i've search through the archieve, but cant find anything useful, just alot of similar question with no useful answer. so i guess alot of people could use this feature, if it can be done.

Regarding tranfer of exel file from Presentation to Application server

I want to transfer excel file in presentation server [Desktop] to Application server[AL11].
I have made use of F.M C13Z_FRONT_END_TO_APPL, But it is showing the data in AL11 as some junk characters.
Where as when i transfer a Text file to AL11 using above F.M it is showing the data correctly.
How can solve this issue!
I need to transfer Excel file data in Presentation Server to Application Server with tab delimeter.
Can any body give the solution for the same!

How to upload file from client machine to server machine?

i am developing one web application.I have one html file with browse option. client can browse any type of file. what ever file the client will browse it going to be stored in server machine. for storing the file want to use servlet. my html form is of multipart type.
can any one send me the servlet code? i am using tomcat 5.5 as web server.

Write blob data from database to unix server

I need to send the attachment file into the mail. I have a header form in which I have implemented Download/Upload functionality using Apex user guide. When ever a user fill all the entries and submit the form then some field information along with attachment I need to send to the user.
I mean when ever user hit the submit button it should take blob data from my custom table tmp_downlod_files and send to the user as an attachment.
I have searched the post and got lot information but not able to get succeed.
I have implemented java stored procedure for sending automatic mail when user is submitting the form but what I need is to take blob content from database and send as an attachment.
1: So I need to write blob content from custom table to unix server in some location and from there I need to attach that file.
2: the java store which I have implemented for sending automatic mail is working and one argument is attachment which I am passing null for now. So mail is working how to write the file from database to unix server and send as an attachment.
What I did for writing file from database to unix server:

Uploading Files From VC (invoking RFC) into ECC

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement which consist of uploading files (from any PC) XML or PDF extension into ECC. I need to do this with a web UI. I got no experience with CE 7.1 (and above) and I just wonder if it is possible from CE 7.1 VC or CE 7.2 VC uploading files into ECC with an RFC development. Is there any uploading component available in VC 7.X which I am not aware of ???

SAP NetWeaver EP 7 (1 server)
ECC SAP invoice manage (1 server)
*Open Text - Invoice Content (1 server)
My requirement is to built a Web User Interface Portal for uploading files (from any computer) and save it into ECC and OpenText Server. I would like to do this with VC but there is no any component for uploading files (not available in NetWeaver 7).
I do not know if it is a component for uploading files available in CE 7.1 VC or higher and I really would like to know and request for this installation.

Try declaring it as TYPE STRING. Not sure though.
There are two predefined types in ABAP with variable length:
STRING for character strings
XSTRING for byte strings

for a windown server u can use VNC (virtual network connection) which opens a session on u r desktop later u can drag and drop form there vice versa and for a linux box you can use Win SCP which helps to open a session with interface to u r desktop in both cases you can upload and down load files very easiy just as we drag and drop items in a simple pc .. we use the same technique...

Please, has any t-code for delete file from application server? For upload exist CG3Z, for download has CG3Y. And for delete? Has anyone?
I need to delete file from application server in QA system and i don't want to create a program for this because i will need to transport a request from DEV to QA.

I don't have contact with basis team.
The FM EPS_DELETE_FILE support directory name with max 60 char. My dir. has more than that. I need a transaction for this.
Anybody know if this transaction exist?
