Interfacing JADE/Java with PowerWorld Simulator 9.0

Dear all,
I am currently working on a multi agent project using the JADE
framework. However, I need to interface my agent platform with
PowerWorld Simulator 9.0. I would be greateful if anyone could give me
advice on how to interface java with PowerWorld Simulator. To the best of my knowledge, PowerWorld Simulator has a feature that acts as a COM object, which can be assessed from various programming tools with COM compatibility. Is there anyway to bridge this with Java? Thank you so much in advance.
Regards,
Jin

    thnxClasses and interfaces are not identified by just their "name", like Runnable. The actual "name" the compiler uses is java.lang.Runnable. So even if you duplicate the Runnable interface in your own package, it's not the same as far as the compiler is concerned, because it's in a different package.
    Try importing both java.util.* and java.awt.* (which both have a class or interface named List), and then try to compile List myList = new ArrayList();

  • Need Info Regarding Implementaion of Interfaces in java.sql package

    Hi All,
    I am interested in knowing details abt how the Interfaces in the java.sql package are implemented. We all work with the database using the interfaces provided ,but how do they work at the backend ? How can a Interface provide details (work ) with out an implementation class.I Is this taken care by the JVM or some of the Call level interfaces? Please do provide details abt this..

    hi Sheshadri,
    The implementation of the various interfaces in
    java.sql package are provided by your jdbc driver,
    which also manages the connection and communication of
    your java program with the appropriate database.

  • Remote Interface to Java Connector

    Is there any plans to add remote interfaces to JCA in the future?

    basically we have c++ libraries for connecting to EIS systems. These are accessed from java with JNI. I want to build a resource adapter around these classes. The c++ has to be on a separate JVM because it's buggy and we dont want it to take down the whole system if it crashes. so the resource adapter has to be on a separate JVM to the classes accessing it. Therefore a remote interface would be very useful.

  • Difference between interfaces in Java API and user defined interfaces

    Is there any differences between the interfaces (such as KeyListener, ActionListener and EventListener etc.,) in Java API and the user defined interfaces.
    The user defined interfaces seems to be empty without any functionality (except its constant and method declarations). But the interfaces in Java API seems to have some functionality behind them, since they route the device events to the programs.
    Actually what is happening behind the Java API's interfaces?
    Please clarify.

    Ummm, no they are not (or at least some of them are not). Also, some things we support now we may not have supported in a previous release.
    If you look at the section 2 (Working with TimesTen Data Stores0 in the TimesTen Java Developer's Guide and look at the sections:
    TimesTen JDBC Extensions
    Additional TimesTen classes and interfaces
    then you will see the extra functionality documented there. Of course, if you do not need any of this functionality then you can simply treat them as the base classes from java.sql and they will work fine so it is easy to make most of your code generic.

  • Using component interface in Java

    i know working and programming with component interface but no knowledge about java
    please give me steps to use component interface in java.
    Shiv

    1. Identify/Create Component Interface which you want to access in Java
    2. Apply security for your Component Interface
    3. Open the Component Interface in Application Designer
    4. In Application Designer, select Build > PeopleSoft APIs
    5. A dialog box comes with caption "Build PeopleSoft API Bindings"
    6. Select Build checkbox for Java Classes Frame and give a target directory
    7. Select OK, This will generate PeopleSoft API classes, dont panic if it takes some time
    8. Right click on component interface, select Generate Java Template, this step will generate Java Template
    9. If you are not familiar with compiling and setting up CLASSPATH in Java then it is better you ask any of your colleagues who knows Java.
    10. Once CLASSPATH is set properly you can compile the generate Java Template without any problems
    11.after compilation you will get a .class file and you need to execute that .class file
    12. When you execute the .class file it will ask application server name, application server port, application user name and application password.
    If you give all the information correctly then you will be accessing CI in Java.
    Let me know if you need more help on this.

  • Which is the best MIDI interface to use with Logic 7 ?

    Hi folks :o)
    Firstly, thanks all for any advice you can give. I'm a pro user, but right in the middle of a major upgrade (G4/OS9/CubaseVST32 >> G5/OSX/CubaseSX3/Logic7) & feel a huge learning curve coming on!
    The situation is this:
    I have a Steinberg Midex 8 midi interface, plus a MOTU MTPav in the cupboard. The Midex took place of the MTPav because it had much better midi timing under OS9 with Cubase... The Midex8 drivers for OSX, however, are still beta & a pile of rubbish. (It keeps losing communication with the G5.) I'm fed up with how bad Steinberg have been sorting (not!) these problems out (not to mention the fact that Cubase SX3 can't recognise my 'studio' created in Audio Midi Setup either.. arghh!), so I'm considering jumping ship & going entirely to Logic in one hit, plus whichever is the best midi-interface for this software & OSX.
    As food for thought, I'm currently thinking of tracking down a 'Unitor 8', having made the (perhaps wrong) assumption that it'd work 'best' with Logic seeing as it was made by Emagic. BUT, despite a lengthy search in Logic 7's manuals & this forum, I can't find any mention of Emagic's 'Active Midi Transmission' protocol & whether or not Logic 7 supports it; AMT is the only reason I'd buy the Unitor. (I've got all the other bases covered with the MTPav.) I'm also concerned about the long-term support issues regarding drivers for the Unitor 8 & OSX; ****, I'm having enough problems with Steinberg & their Midex 8 (which is still a current product in theory!) without throwing Emagic & a midi interface that's no longer manufactured into the pot...
    So..... What do you folks feel is the best midi interface to use with Logic 7 as regards tight midi timing & system reliability? Can anyone out there with a big midi setup categorically say "I've got one (or more) of these MIDI interfaces, it works beautifully under OSX & Logic 7, & the MIDI timing is rock-solid, even when put under heavy midi 'duress' " ??
    Many thanks again in advance for any feedback!
    Your new Logic Pro virgin ;o)
    Jason

    Thanks for your reply folks. It's good to hear a number of you are having good results with your MTPav - I guess I'll pull mine out of the cupboard in that case!
    As an aside, it's been interesting to note how difficult it's been to get a clear answer from companies (be it shops or Apple) as to whether or not Logic 7 supports 'Active Midi Transmission' on the old Unitor 8 MkII..... (The reference manual has one mention of it in the index, yet points to a page that doesn't say anything about AMT at all!)
    If anyone here DOES have a clear answer about AMT with Logic 7, I'd be very interested to hear about it... thanks.
    Kind regards,
    JC

  • Can' t connect Java with MySQL

    My goal is to connect Java with MySQL. I found many solutions on Internet, but I always get the same mistake:
    SQLException: No suitable driver
    SQLState: 08001
    VendorError: 0MySQL works fine alone or with php.Only thing left me to think is that the installed versions are not compatible for this mysql-connector-java-5.0.4
    I don't believe that could be a reason.
    Installed versions are:
    Apache Tomcat 5.5.20 Server
    Apache HTTP Server 2.2.4
    PHP 5.2.0
    MySQL 5.2
    jre 1.5.0_11
    jdk1.5.0_11
    Apache Tomacat JK2 connector Version: 1.2.20 File Name: mod_jk-apache-2.2.3.so
    mysql-connector-java-5.0.4
    I also set connector in class path: C:\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4;C:\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4-bin.jar;C:\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4\src\com\mysql\jdbc
    For installation I used manulas from:
    http://apacheguide.org/jsp.php
    http://doc.51windows.net/mysql/?url=/MySQL/ch23s03.html
    Here is also a test code in java:

    Thank You in advance

    hey buddy .. it seems yr code is wrong .. in getconnection () method u should also specify the port ,which u r not doing ...
    the default port for MySQL is 3306 ... see below i am giving you a sample code ... its working fine .. and dont forget to put the MySQL driver jar path in to classpath and also copy the jar into common/lib folder of your tomcat ....
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.ResultSet;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import java.sql.Statement;
    public class MySQLConnectionTest {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
    new MySQLConnectionTest().connTest();
    public void connTest() {
              String tableName = "portfolio"; //change as per setting
              String hostName = "10.81.9.39"; // please change for the target database ip or hostname
              String dbPort = "3306"; //change if not using the default
              String dbName = "tradingsystem"; //change as per the given DB name
              String username = "root"; //change as per setting
              String password = "password"; //change as per setting
              System.out.println("before try");
              Double data=0.0;
         Double data1=0.0;
              try {
    Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver");
                   System.out.println("before driver manager");
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://"+hostName+":"+dbPort+"/"+dbName, username, password);
    String query1 = "select * from "+tableName+" where User_id='trader1' and Stock_Type='Equity'";
    System.out.println("quesry1="+query1);
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs1 = stmt.executeQuery(query1);
    while(rs1.next())
         System.out.println("hiiiiii for rs1");
         System.out.println(rs1);
         Quantity=(Integer)rs1.getObject(5);
         MarketPrice=(Double) rs1.getObject(8);

  • Are there ANY firewire interfaces that work with 24" imac 2.16 Core 2 duo?

    This is really getting frustrating. I have now tried and failed at getting both an m-audio profire lightbridge and a TC electronic studio konnekt 48 to work on this computer. Both interfaces were tested with Leopard and Tiger, no success.
    My computer is NOT the aluminum imac, it's the earlier whiteface version, so it's supposed to have the TI chipset(I've been told that the aluminum imacs don't work because they have a agrere chipset....) The firewire port works fine with an external hard drive, but no one seems to be able to write software drivers that work.
    If anyone is successfully running a firewire interface with this model computer please let me know what OS you are running, the interface, and what software you are using.
    I'm starting to think that the problem is on apple's end, it shouldn't be this hard for third party manufacturers to write reliable drivers. both m-audio and tc electronic's forums are littered with complaints about bad drivers for the last year or so.

    Yildox - I've been doing a little more research... Your imac has a known problem, it's the particular firewire chipset it uses, made by Agere. The older white versions have a Texas instruments chipset, which is supposed to be better, though I haven't had any success with mine so far in the audio interface department.
    I really think that the problem is bigger than that though. Everyone having a problem with a firewire audio interface seems to have one similarity, a mac made in the last 2 years running OS 10.4.9 or later.

  • How to use Java with PL/SQL commands to send an email with attachment

    Apologizes in advance if this is the wrong place to ask the question.
    I need to use Java with PL/SQL commands to send an email with attachment. My java application runs from the command line and does some magic to gather info from an Oracle 11g db. If the DB has sendmail configured, I'd like to send the results of the data gathering as an attachment to the email addresses. I'm not sure how to do this. I've been reading up on on PL/SQL can send email with UTL_SMTP - with attachments. I'm just not sure how to translate that into being triggered by my Java application. Any suggestions or pointers on what I should read would be appreciated.
    Background - I've been programming in Java for 10+ years, but this is my first time using databases. I also have been on these forums for a long time, but lost my profile when it was switched to Oracle.
    Thanks for all help.

    The original requirements were put together and given to me, an Oracle newbie. They expected the Java app to use something intrinsic to Oracle and Unix sendmail. To solve my problem, I use a JDBC connection to run some SQL commands. I take that data, format it and send the results by email to the user. By default the requirement is to send it as an HTML attachment using Unix 'sendmail'. So I do that using Runtime exec. I have also added JavaMail functionality as an alternative to sendmail. It works great and as expected.Sounds like a reasonable solution.
    Note however that PL/SQL itself can send email. And PL/SQL can call unix sendmail too.
    However myself I would have done it in java with JavaMail.
