Interfacing MS Project in Labview

Hi All,
I've seen that Labview can interface with Excel, Word, and Powerpoint but can it also interface through MS Project? For instance using an ActiveX control.
Any examples welcome
Kind Regards
Richard

You may need to experiment with the Active-X on this one.  I don't recall anyone implementing this solution.  Hopefully MS can provide some documentation on the API (or Active-X).  I will do a search in case something was already done for MS Project.

  • Is it possible to build a project with Labview 2010 on a Windows XP system, that is useful for a system with windows 7 on it?

    Hi there,
I am planning to use Labview 2010 in a short time.
But before I'm going to use it I have some questions.
I know it is possible to run Labview 2010 in an XP environment. But is it also possible to, when running Labview 2010 on a XP system, to build a project to a version that is useful in a Windows 7 environment?
Or do I have to run Labview 2010, when I want to build a project that is useful on a Windows 7 system, on a system with Windows 7?
    Please give me some information.
I hope to hear from one of you soon.
    Regards,
    Kenny

  • I want to do a project in Labview which controls 5 light bulbs which lights in a room.

I want to do a project in Labview which controls 5 light bulbs which lights in a room. The switching on of light bulbs depend on amount of sunlight falling on a LDR. Small intensity of sunlight should cause the lighting of one bulb after the other. I need some help in writing my program in Labview.

LDR is a resistor whose resistance decreases with increasing incident light intensity... I know, you are already aware of what LDR is...!!
--> Well what exactly you want a LabVIEW program to do in this setup of yours...??
--> If you want LabVIEW to take control and lit different bulbs, based on the light intensity, I would like to know, how exactly you planned to measure the resistance variation of LDR??
--> What DAQ are you using??
--> Are you aware that DAQ cards can measure the voltage across a shunt resistance (here LDR) and indirectly tell you the variation in the resistant, provided a constant current passing through the resistance.

I have installed OpenPSMSP4 to interface MS Project 2007 SP2 with SAP Project System ECC 6.0. However the upload button is deactivated so i cannot transfer from MS Project to the SAP System.
I have already created the role (SAP_PS_EPS) in PFCG and carried out the user maintenance in SU01 along with authorization for object S_RFC and S_USER_GRP but still the button remains deactivated.

    Hi,
Try MS Project 2007 SP1 instead of SP2.
    This should solve the problem.

  • How to interface ADAM 4060 in Labview 7.0 ?

I got difficulties in interfacing ADAM 4060 with Labview 7.0. I have tested the device using Advantech ADAM Utility software and it working properly. So, its not hardware error or failure.
However, when I want to interface it using Labview, I couldn't make it work. Labview didnot communicate with ADAM 4060. I've try using User Libraries >Advantech DA&A > Advanve > SlowDIO > DioWritePortDword.vi, DioWritePortWord.vi and also standard srandard library, COMWrite.vi

    Hi chelvis7,
Are you using the same set of VIs from the manufacturer as one-kay? Were you able to communicate with the device using the method discussed in the link posted by David?
If you are using an NI 485 to USB adapter (such as the NI USB-485), what version of the following software are you using (can be found by opening Measurement and Automation Explorer and expanding the Software section on the left):
    LabVIEW
    NI-VISA
    NI-Serial
Finally what is the error message and error code that you are receiving when attempting communication?

There is probably a way to do it, but it it may be easier to use an X-series board for the job.   They support a new counter capability for count reset on a digital edge without needing to be configured in encoder position mode.  I am not sure exactly how that feature's been implemented however, so maybe it won't make things easier after all.
The plan based on the hoped-for behavior:
    1. Configure an X-series counter for pulse generation based on "ticks" of your clock channel.
    2. Set both initial delay and low time to the critical # of ticks.
    3. Configure for count reset on a digital edge (if possible in pulse generation mode)
    4. Configure the count reset value to be the critical # (or possibly 1 less, if possible in pulse generation mode)
    5. If you want the output to remain high indefinitely, configure the counter task to use its own output as a
pause trigger, and pause while high.
The way pulse generation works is to preload a # of "low time" ticks into the count register.  Then every source edge will decrement the count.  When the count reaches terminal count (0), the counter's output is toggled (or can be configured to pulse).  The register is then loaded with the # of "high time" ticks and the process continues.
You would be perpetually interrupting the count-down process as long as you got your triggers in time.  The count would keep getting reset to the # of low counts, keep decrementing toward 0 without reaching it, and so on.  If ever you did reach 0, the output state would toggle high, then the high state would prevent subsequent clock signals from decrementing the count.
You can conceivably do a similar thing with a 6601, but I'm pretty sure you'd need 2 counters working together to get it working.

  • AP Invoice interfaced to Projects shows the amount in the quantity field

We are noticing that AP Invoices interfaced to Projects show the invoice amount in the quantity field, e.g. in projects quantity and cost both show the invoice amount. The actual quantity is different. Anybody experienced that or has a solution?

    Hi User,
This is intended functionality of Oracle projects:
For AP invoices the QUANTITY = ACTUAL AMOUNT (eg 1000) of the AP invoice at the distribution level and UOM = word "CURRENCY".
Incase of labor expenditures the quantity = the number of hours and UOM = HOURS.
Please revert incase more information is required on this issue.

    Hi Jasim,
Could I get a little more information about how you are importing the MRI image into LabVIEW?
    1) How are you getting the MRI image into LabVIEW?
    2) What image format will the image be in?
    3) What will you be doing to the image once it is in LabVIEW?

  • Interface between C++ and labview

I have decided a project that consists of C++ and Labview. C++ is used
as the input to labview. However, i don't know how to use C++ to
control the labview. Can C++ control the labview directly? and how ?
or I have to buy another program or hardware to be interface?

ActiveX and TCP/IP are both good choices for high-level communication
between Windows applications. LabVIEW's VI Server, introduced in version
5.0, gives you tremendous power to control LabVIEW programmatically and
exposes it to the programmer via either ActiveX or TCP/IP.
For a very nice example that shows how to call a LabVIEW VI with arguments
passed from the C++ environment, then bring the resulting data from
LabVIEW back to C++, check out the following example from NI's site:
    http://digital.natinst.com/explprog.nsf/websearch/6960cee3bf3d8c30862565da0078ef30?OpenDocument
If the URL doesn't work for you, just go to NI's Example Programs Database
(http://www.natinst.com/support/epd/) and search for "labview and c++".

  • How to create custom project in LabVIEW 8

We can create VIs from the template in similar fashion i want to create a perticular folder hierarchy and copy some common VIs in perticular locations when i create  a new project. as in 7.1(or even in 8) we had option to create blank VI or VI from template, is there any option to blank project or project from template.
If this feature is not readily available then can i develop a tool which can do the job? How?

    Hello!
You can do more than just creating a blank project with the
VI server -- check out the example "Add files to project" from the NI
Example Finder (help->find examples->new to lv 8->general).  The
other post was correct though -- it is just an XML file that you can manipulate
    how you choose.
