Interlace problem with psd. logo.......

I added a small logo to my project. It is a psd file and it has tearing or interlace problems.
I tried to add a de-interlace filter on it---didt'n work
I added a gaussian blur to it and it didn't look good.
What is the right way to correct the interlace issue?
Thanks

Where are you rendering? If in FCP, click on the clip in the timeline, type ⌘9 and change the Field Dominance to None.

  • Interlace problems with moving objects using iDVD

I had an MP4 file (created by a 3rd party) from a Hi-8 analog tape which has some interlace artifacts on moving images (left image of boy) but not too bad. When the MP4 files was imported into iMovie 11 the interlace artifacts smoothed somewhat - that was OK (right image of boy). The camera was still and the boy was moving.  Vertical lines on stationary objects are OK in all images. These are screen captures from the Mac of the mp4 played through quicktime and the same file imported into iMovie 11 and played.  I paused both to take the screen capture.
The completed project in iMovie 11 looked OK when previewed prior to rendering. These are 20 year old videos so my expections were being met.   I rendered the project with iDVD to the hard drive first and then to a DVD with the same poor imaging result on the moving object.  I am using a new Macbook Pro I bought in early January which came with iMovie 11 and iDVD  Ver 7.1.2 (1158). Running Mac OS X 10.7.3  Macbook Pro  2.3 Ghz Corei7   8GB 1333 Mhz DDR3.
I couldn't screen capture from the MAC DVD player screen to illustrate the poor result (got a checkerboard screen) so I took a photo of the screen and imported that (below).  The moving boy on the left is from an  iMovie 11 screen capture, the image on the right is the moving boy from the rendered DVD I paused on the Mac (and took a pic of).
Below a close up of the poorly rendered moving boy viewed on the resultant DVD.  This translates into a horrible rendition of any quick moving object.  It happens with any moving image - i.e. a pan across a room with straight vertical lines like edges of a wall will show as serrated and poorly rendered edge. I used a trial version of the Daniusoft DVD creator with the same result!  I am at a loss on how to resolve this issue.  Any thoughts out there??
I had previously used Pinnacle Studios on my old XP PC which worked great on other tape's Mpeg files and created great DVD's (never had an interlace problem) ... until my computer died .....  so I figured Apple and associated software should be at least equal if not a superior product.   Now I'm not too sure!

  • Problem with printing-- logo comes upside down

    Hi ,
We have some problem with printing.
While testing the print output for billing we are experiencing some problems. Every thing  in the layout looks fine in the print preview but when i take a print out in my local printer , i see the client logo comes upside down and some lines  are missing .
Can some body suggest me how to correct the same.
    Regards,
    Sekhar.

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks....
We have checked the printer earlier also and seems to be fine.
    Aditional info:
    1) We are getting this problem while printing Billing from "VF01" transaction.
    2) In this also we have two invoice numbers given by functional guy out of which in for one we are getting the problem that "lines of the first box are not printing" and for second "logo is coming inverted & lines of the first box are not printing"
    Regards,

  • Interlace problem with fast pans, camera moves... any advice?

Hello: I have a video project, edited in FCP (from SD DVCAM tape source). I exported as a standard 4:3 Quicktime movie, and then encoded as H264 video using the multipass 3ivx codec in Cleaner.
I now get a blurred horizontal line on camera pans. The blur appears as a broken line on the lower third of the picture.
Should I not tick the "Adaptive" box?
I have tried using the de-interlace Eliminate Top Field and the Interlace Auto settings. In both cases I ticked the adaptive box. In both cases I still get a blurred broken line in the lower third area of the video on camera pans.
I tried a third experiment using DVFilmMaker. I set it up to de-interlace only on movement, and to blur horizontal lines on Motion (thinking this might help to at least give a more natural look to the picture break-up I was already getting).
    Alas, no improvement.
Yes, if I had a time-machine and extra bucks I would have shot Progressive... but I didn't... so I'm trying to get the best out of what I have.
    Any thoughts... anyone?
    Thanks

Thanks for the info. Just for the record, I have tried all these things too in Compressor, QTPro, Cleaner and DVFilmMaker. I get the same problem with all (a blurred line on fast camera pans)
My preference for Cleaner (and it's only my opinion) is that it has a more intuitive user interface for correcting gamma, color, image size, bit-rate, without having to search or go to multiple menus. You also see the video as it encodes and visually check any problems with gamma, etc. You can also do a visual before/after check. I guess it's the devil I'm used to.
Thanks for all the info re. alternatives to Cleaner... but it's not really addressing my original (and existing) problem.
    Thanks

  • Quicktime interlace problem with 1080i format ?

I imported many video in 1080i format using Final Cut Pro, and when I play back them from quicktime I've got interlace problem. How can I have my video played back correctly ?

And you are monitoring...how? Computer displays don't show interlacing properly, so you won't see it right. Only an external monitor that is capable of displaying interlacing will show you how things really look.

  • SAPScripts: Problem with displaying Logo

    Hi,
I have created a SAPScript with a logo window embedded into it. I used transaction SE78 to upload the image.
    My query:
The image does not fit into the window and it is overlapping on the other windows. Is that something to do with the DPI or the image size(Width X Height)?
I think the image should automatically be adjusted in the window.
Can you please guide me on this?
    Regards
    s@k

    Hi,
Don't change the dimensions using MS-PAINT, instead use the Batch Converter.
You can download this converter using link:-
    http://www.batchconverter.com/
Decrease the DPI of the image and then try uploading it.
What I would suggest is to convert this image to TIFF Image file and then upload the new TIFF image to a TEXT OBJECT using report RSTXLDMC
    Hope this helps you.

  • Interlace problem with Final Cut Pro

    Hi,
I have been using Final Cut Studio now from September and I am still learning things. I still have one problem that is persistent and have not found a solution anywhere, not in help or anywhere:
    - I shoot my videos with Canon EOS 5D mark II DSLR at 1920x1080 30p.
    - I want to keep the resolution and 30p, with no interlace spoiling the image
    - I have been recently successful avoiding the disease called interlace, however now I started trying out the SmoothCam filter and each time after using it my image is ruined with interlace. It is in the rendered video as well, no matter if I use Compressor or FCP Quicktime conversion to render, despite I have selected 1920x1080 30p as output.
This is very aggravating because I don't want to know where the interlace is needed since I have no displays that would support interlace and don't know anybody who still would have (everybody is using FullHD something, so I try to create FullHD progressive content only, no tube television support of any kind is desired).
Here is a short example video how the FCP forces interlace. Look at the eyes on 1080p display:
    http://www.katix.org/karoliina/media/aki.mov
Everything in my chain is 1080 30p progressive. I don't have anything interlaced anywhere. Still after smoothcam rendering the result ends this crappy. How can I fix this or is this a bug in the software?

I can't answer the question about MXF.
To the second question, are all parts of the FCS suite inside the top level of the Applications folder?
You must not rename, move them elsewhere or place them in a sub-folder. The updater will not see them.

  • Strangest problem with psd's all of a sudden.  Any insight?

Hello everyone! Hope all are well this Saturday evening.
I've encountered the strangest problem that has seem to come out of nowhere.
DVDStudio pro has all of a sudden decided that psd's are incompatible format.
Here is the strangest part, it's doing this on 2 desktops and a laptop all with dvd studio pro.
Not only won't it let me import the new master menu psd file we've created to replace the one that was in there previously, but it won't let me import almost any psd file previously used. Even if I just create a blank psd file from scratch.
    Has anyone ever encountered this?
The psd's are in RGB btw and the message it says exactly is
    "IMPORT ASSETS
    INCOMPATIBLE FORMAT"
I tried saving as a tiff as well and same thing.
I can't think of anything that would make this happen to 3 computers!

I turned the phone off and back on. I hooked up to my computer. I can access the store but when I try to upgrade I get a messge that the phone cannot access the store. I got one of the two apps I was trying to upgrade by frist going to Purchases (in the App Update section) but the other sitll did not work and I got the same message that store cannot be accessed.

  • Interlacing problems with iDVD Preview and burning - comb effect appalling.

When using iDVD to burn content onto DVDs, I suffer from "comb effect" interlacing related problems both in the iDVD Preview and with the final product played on a computer. I have yet to play the disc in a "real" DVD player.
I am editing HDV (60i) footage with FCE 4, exporting (both interlaced and de-interlaced - same problem) to 1920x1080 HD at a Quicktime movie, and then importing the clips to iDVD.
The clips are short (under 10 minutes) and play back perfectly on Quicktime.
Once imported to iDVD, the iDVD Preview displays (especially with motion scenes) four areas of horizontal jagged edge areas, which are spectacularly distracting.
    Here is an example:
    http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u4/praxisuniversal/InterlacingProblem.jpg
I have tried various settings using iDVD, but have not been met with success. In other, similar discussions, people have had luck with other software programs, but I am reluctant to spend great gobs of money if the Apple Discussion Brain Trust can find a way to circumvent.
    Thanks!

Check out the JES Deinterlacer website and see if it helps. http://www.xs4all.nl/~jeschot/home.html

  • Problem with printing logo in smartforms

    Hi guys,
we have a logo in a window, its working fine in print preview, however when printing the document its all black. The logo does not display, instead the window is blackened.
    Please advise.

    Hi freishz ,
When u r sayin 'document its all black' do u mean that the background of image is appearing black or it is completely black nothing is displayed?
I had faced similar problem in smartform, where i was gettin grey background of the logo...
For this, you need to edit the logo image first. open the logo image in ms paintbrush and save it as 256 color bitmap image. now upload this bitmap in sap using tcode se78.
    Now use this logo......

  • Interlace problems with zooms/pans on stills

We are working on a simple slide show with still images. There is a wavering quality to the images as they zoom or pan across the screen. It creates a kind of moray effect that is unpleasant. The movie is going to be projected onto a large screen so it will look even worse. I can't seem to find a way to de-interlace the images except in photoshop. Is that my only option or is there some way to turn off interlace in imovie?

wavering quality to the images as they zoom or pan across the screen
That seems to indicate that you used the Ken Burns effect to pan/zoom the images, right? If yes, then you should not be a victim of the nasty old iMovie 3-5 bug Sue provided a link to.
IMO Photo To Movie's high quality setting renders better quality Ken Burns than, erm, iMovie's Ken Burns effect. Maybe the wavering is caused by suboptimal subpixel rendering in iMovie? (wow, that was a great sentence

  • Interlace problem with DV PAL video

    My video file is DV, 720 × 576 (768 × 576) with letterboxing
    I want to use compressor to resize this to 16:9 768 x 432, or 720 x 405
The original movie looks fine, but it seems whatever codec and whatever deinterlace setting in compressor, the output file has nasty interlace lines.
I am slightly confused because I seem to have Interlacing/deinterlacing in 3 places:
    Video settings
    Frame Controls
    Filters
    Can anyone help please?

    Back to a computer:
    Pete Thomas wrote
Result is 16:9 file, not too large and no lines. Just as good as the original.
I find it odd that I have to use QT Pro
    Hey Pete. Whatever works…
If you want to try another way, start out by setting up tour FCP project like so:
It will export in the aspect ratio you want.
    Pete Thomas wrote:
Open the DV movie in QT pro 7, expert with Apple Pro Ress 422 HQ and interlace ticked.
Then open that in compressor and choose H264 and apply the crop to remove the letterbox.
You wanted a DVD to play back on computers (either in addition to or rather than television play-back). Since H.264 is not a DVD standard, I assume you compressed it once again to make an MPEG-2. That's a lot of generations of compression and lost information: DVPAL>ProRes HQ>H.264>MPEG-2. Much simpler, quicker and higher quality to go directly from DV PAL (or NTSC) to MPEG-2.
Finally, if most of your output will be for computers (including mobile devices) and the Web, try to shoot progressive in the first place.
    Good luck.
