Internet Directory installation errors

I have RH5
$ORACLE_HOME=/oracle_home/home/dba/oracle/product/oid
-------Trying to install Oracle Internet Directory.
After installing the database, creating repository, installing the ultra search - I'm in a process of installation of AS - Internet Directory components.
I'm hitting consistent errors related to Dependencies:
I have a system wide tnsnames.ora in /var/opt/oracle
1. If TNS_ADMIN is set to /var/opt/oracle ->>> the error is:
the system-wide tnsnames.ora file has to be renamed and the file created during the installation in
/oracle_home/home/dba/oracle/product/oid/network/admin
has to be merged with the system-wide file.
2. If TNS_ADMIN is set to:
/oracle_home/home/dba/oracle/product/oid/network/admin
"Dependencies :the environment variable, TNS_ADMIN has been set to a non existent directory, an invalid directory outside of the selected Oracle Home or a directory that doesnot contain a valid tnsnames.ora file.Remove this environment variable and restart the install "
It looks to me I exhausted all the combinations of TNS_ADMIN locations and renaming-replacing my current tnsnames.ora.
I'd appreciate any suggestions!.

It is not able to find the class oracle.security.xmlsec.util.Base64.
I was able to find a related thread on this issue at Oracle Internet Directory Config Error Linux x64 java.lang.NoClassDefFoundE
but didn't find much helpful.
The setup details are as follows:
Weblogic Version: 10.3.5
RCU Version: 11.1.1.3.3
IDM version: 11.1.1.2.0 (release version) Upgraded to 11.1.1.5.0 (Patchset version)
Also Oracle IDM installation has the jar file odst_xmlsec.jar having the Base64 class.
Please let me know if you see any issues.

Windows 7 64bits Installing Internet Explorer 11 ERROR Neutral package installation failed
Hi,
The laptop is running Windows 7 64bits with Internet Explorer 10 and the Windows automatic updates is turned on. The problem happens when the Windows keeps installing the Internet Explorer 11 every time between shutdown process. So I decided to download
IE11 offline installation and try to install from it but the problem doesn't solve, the installation still does not complete. I have tried to delete all files in the Windows temp folder and IE temp folder already but the problem still exist.

Unfortunately, since then others have quickly stuck a pin in this balloon, finding that it is just one more bump in the road, but at least working around this coding error should change your symptom.

I have tried to create a symbolic link as suggested on a forum but the problem still cannot be solved. The error message from IE11_main.log file is exactly the same as before.

[I don't even use Internet Explorer] I don't understand why the installation worked on a different computer I own but not this one. Both of them are running Windows XP Home.
I've already tried removing all Adobe Products, using msicuu2.exe, CS4CleanupScript from Adobe, etc...

Haven't been able to install Adobe Indesign CC through Creative Cloud. Gives the following installation error "Unable to extract to temp directory. Contact Customer Support EX11". What can I do?

Failed to Start Oracel Internet Directory in installation
I tried to install OID in a RHEL5.3 server (a VM with 45GB hard disk and 2.6GB RAM) which hosts an Oracle 11g too. At the last step of "Start Oracle Internet Directory" failed. I have no choice but "Cancel" the installation.
I have chosen "Install and Configure", and selected "Configure without a Domain", then I deselected "Oracle Virtual Directory" at "Configure Components" left with OID only.
The only thing caught my eyes are a warning of "initialization processes is less than 500" and a warning on character set. I have chosen to ignore them.
Everything seems smooth until the last step. How to check whether it actually finished except the OID start or else?
Any suggestion? and why?
fix or re-install?
If I want to re-install, can I install over the existing one or should I deinstall first?

When I installed the OID, I set Oracle Middleware Home Location: /u01/app/middleware; after the unsuccessful installation, three directory were created under there:
Oracle_IDM1, asinst_1 and oracle_common
I ran the "runInstaller -deinstall" under IDENTITY_MANAGEMENT_ORACLE_HOME/oui/bin (in my case, which is /u01/app/middleware/Oracle_IDM1/oui/bin), it did clean some files under IDENTITY_MANAGEMENT_ORACLE_HOME, however left with "asinst_1" and "oracle_common".
I noticed that there is another runInstaller under "oracle_common"; but after I ran the "runInstaller -deinstall" under Oracle_IDM1/oui/bin, it will not be able to run ""runInstaller -deinstall" under "oracle_common" any more, saying "The Java RunTime Environment was not found ...."
Should I clean the oracle_common and asinst_1 manually or what? -

Hi All, I received this error while I was installing the last CPU on a 10.2.0.4 Oracle Instance running on a HP-UX Itanium System:

Returning: 1603I am not sure about this particular error number. Looking it up in Windows Installer error messages, it says file in use, restart may be required. But I am not certain that it is a Windows installer error message.
It certainly is worth trying a restart.
I would also clear your temporary Internet files and re-download iTunes.
Also clear your temporary directory as that seems to be where the error occurred.
This article on trouble installing iTunes includes instructions for clearing the temp folder (towards the end of the page) and also other things to try.

Internet Directory on Redhat 7.1
Have successully installed 9i on Redhat 7.1.
Am now trying to install OID. The install docs said that
towards the end of the installation the Internet Directory
Configuration Assistant would appear, however it didn't and I
could find no errors in the install log.
Has anybody got this working OK, or anyone have any ideas?This is what I did.

"The Oracle installation program (versions 8.1.7, 8.1.6, and possibly others) does not work properly with glibc 2.2 and above. The problem is that it is linking object files compiled against different glibc (binary compatibility is ensured only for linked executables and shared libraries through symbol versioning). You may work around this by installing the Red Hat Linux 6.2 compatibility packages (compat-egcs, compat-glibc and compat-libs) and issuing the following commands before running the Oracle installer:
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5
. /usr/i386-glibc21-linux/bin/i386 glibc21-linux-env.sh
The second line exports environment variables which will cause gcc and ld to look for glibc 2.1.3 compatibility headers and libraries."

Although - what I did was edit the .bash_profile and added LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5; export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL. Don't need to export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL. Don't worry about the env.sh.
Then I installed all the compat-egcs, compat-glibc, compat-libs from the 6.2 Installation CD. Including compat-binutils. Can download from ftp.redhat.com. Used jdk118_v3 - and what ya know it worked installed with no problems. BUT - I have not had a chance to thourghly use yet.

How can I resolve installation errors DF024 & DF037 for CS5.5 on Mac?
Please help. I've gone through the forum posts, as well as searched the Internet, and find the matter daunting. Have tried to implement a solution and may have caused more problems. Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

BACKGROUND (History appears chronologically in 4 parts.):
CS 5.5 was already installed and functioning fine, then upgraded from OS 10.6 to 10.7. Noticed issues with elements not appearing in DISPLAY VIEW of Dreamweaver, but was correct in CODE VIEW and BROWSER PREVIEW.
Tried to reinstall and uninstall Dreamweaver 5.5 several times using the CS 5.5 installation disk. Consistently got DF024 errors. NOTE: After first attempt. installer marked Dreamweaver as already installed, but not the others. Using the Finder, the Dreamweaver directory appears to be empty unless the files are now hidden. Nothing regarding the application can be seen in the Trash. Also unable to launch any other Adobe CS apps.

SLConfig.xml appeared to be an alias pointing to a file of the same name in the Mac version. Went to original file, made a new alias and replaced the corrupted file.
Then rebooted system and relaunched CSS5.5 Installer with all apps selected. Program started and ran for about 15 min before reporting more errors, now with error DF037 as well. Did this again with the same results except the DF037 error did not reappear. It appears the the problems are mostly in two directories:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/
and
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ssc/DesignSuitePremium-CS5.5-Win-GM/
but I am not sure how to best resolve this.

Since my initial posting here, I've attempted a few more installations. Each time a file from /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ssc/ would appear with the same error DF024, and it was always an alias. So each time I would replace the old alias with a new manually created alias pointing to the same original as the old alias. Sure enough, when I relaunched the installer, error DF024 with the old alias no longer appeared, but a new error DF042 with another alias from the same directory did appear. Then I manually replaced all aliases found in the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ssc/ directory with new ones I created.
Upon rebooting and relaunching the installer program, the program did not stop at around 12% as consistently it did up until now. Instead, it progressed to 80% before it stopped and reported a huge number of new errors. Most of them pertain to the inability to roll back the installation it had attempted. No files from /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ssc/ appeared in the new log report.
To gain a better understanding of the logs, I downloaded AdobeSupportAdvisor and tried using it, but it referred me to online solutions that weren't relevant to my situation (i.e., one mentions Photoshop CS4 and I've never installed CS4).
I also tried following the articles from the Adobe knowledgebase:
cspid_84451: Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6
which is fine if you only have a few errors, and
cspid_83481: Installation, launch log errors | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CCM
which doesn't list error DF024.
At this point I've decided to not not make anymore attempts without some expert guidance.

Start Oracle Internet Directory failing... server context is null
I'm trying to install Oracle Internet Directory on a RHEL5 64 bit for the first time.
The database (11.2.0.3), Weblogic (10.3.6), and OID (11.1.1.6) have all installed okay, and I'm running the config.sh script.

I notice that Metalink ID: " FMW 11g Oracle Internet Directory Configuration Process Fail: Error Creating Ascomponent Oid1 [ID 1289015.1]" refers to IPV6. I only have IPV4 enabled. Is IPV6 a mandatory requirement for OID?
Thanks in advance.I downloaded the RCU 11.1.1.6 patch (13517109) and it ran fine this way (after a drop/create on the OID schemas).
Obviously running the {Middleware_Home}/Oracle_IDM1/bin/rcu file isn't the way to do it. I'll pay closer attention next time....

I was trying to install Identity Management 11g as part of our Fusion Middleware test environment but I couldn't make it through the Installation.
I'm installing IDM 11g, just Oracle Internet Directory with Oracle Directory Integration Platform, Oracle Directory Services Manager, and Fusion Middleware Control in a New WebLogic Administration Domain (not selecting Identity Federation nor Virtual Directory)
All the prerequisites are fulfilled, all the verification passed.
I'm using Weblogic 11g (10.3.1), everything over a OEL 5.2.
The error I get is in the Configuration Progress stage, in Bootstrap Domain configuration section, and in the Create Domain part.
The logs show:

Best regards.I had a similar problem. The solution I used was to download a different version of 11g. Higher, I don't know what 11g (10.1.3) is. I don't think there was a version like that (I haven't seen it). Let's say your platform is x86. There are 3 downloads (at least) you could use:
1. Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.1) + OEPE - Package Installer
oepe11_wls1031_linux32.bin
2. Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.1) - Package Installer
wls1031_linux32.bin
3. Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3 - Package Installer
server103_linux32.bin
With #3, I had the same issue. IDM doesn't like it. I used #1. OEPE is just some eclipse plugins that you don't need to use but they are there in case you want to develop some custom plugins. #2 I assume would also work but I haven't tested it. The .1 in 10.3.1 is the key. 11g = 10.3.1. I think eventually Oracle will marry up the versions to be more clear. I'm not sure.
And yes, with #3, the verify would pass and it would happily install until the domain was created and bam big stack trace just like you posted. Use #1 or #2. If your Platform is different just substitute the _linux32 with your platform.
