Intial-Setup Never completes

Hi, I recently aquired an iMac from my Auntie, she got a new one...so unfortunately all I got was the pc, no keyboard, mouse, disks, manuals....she can't remember her password and I tried looking at the videos on youtub on how to get into the Mac without remembering my Aunties password.
I've got it the point when I boot up the computer it runs the intial set-up and im able to create an account, on the last step, I click continue to finish and it takes me all the way back to the start and runs set-up as if it never happened. What is going here? I need help! Thank You. My apologies if this question has been posted already I am fairly new.

Sounds like Disk Corruption...
Try this first...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when complete, test again.

  • Business Account Setup Never Complete?

I've gone through all of the steps to set up my business account and have accepted every payment method (website -- integrate the buttons myself, invoice, in person, and on eBay) but it still keeps prompting me to finish setting up my account. This is a little crazy. What do I need to do to finish setting this up? Thanks! -- G.K.

If you don't have it for reference, the manual might come in handy > US/Boot_Camp_Install-Setup.pdf
After it loads, Command + F to find information regarding the drivers.

Thanks to cor-el for the suggestion given in the link. Sadly I have to report:
    1) It is not a bookmark problem and it makes no difference whether I put
www.adobe.com or 192.150.18.117 in the address bar.
    2) Cookies are allowed and there are no exceptions set
    3) All cookies have been deleted
    4) network.http.sendRefererHeader is already set to 2
That deals with the items in the linked document.
    Additional information:
    5) I can get into the adobe site from a clean "in memory" installation of PuppyLinux using Seamonkey using the same router and dhcp setup.
    6) un-installing all Mozilla products - rebooting and re-installing makes no difference even when I remove the mozilla folder from docs&settings.
so as I said in previous post (as annonymous) not a lot makes sense.
Bear in mind that I have no problem running tracert in a command window

  • VSO build never completes

I'm attempting to automate my build process and have been adding projects as I go. I setup a build definition and it worked fine. I then added some more projects that build successfully locally. However, when I run the online build it just never completes.
There's no success, no failure, it just gets hung up (for 15+ minutes) until I manually stop it.
The last item in "Diagnostics" is "Running MSBuild" with a large set of parameters.
Is there any way I can resolve this?

    Hi Christopher,
For your situation, there is no way to build your project with hosted build controller. An workaround is build with on-premise build controller. For configuration of an on-premise build controller, please refer to this
    thread for more information.

  • IPod sync never completes, if I cancel the sync a large portion of my music disappears

Hi, hopefully someone here can help!
I have recently had an issue with my iPod touch and iTunes 12.0.1.26. It has been a bit of a pain to sync ever since that update that screwed up other people's iThings but I hadn't had a problem in a few months. Now whenever I try to sync it will take a long time and never complete, always getting hung up on the last step before anything is transferred. If I unplug or cancel I get an error box that says the iPod couldn't be recognised and the sync failed to start even though it would get through to that last bit after backing itself up. After each failed attempt the Other data section becomes bigger until I get another error saying that there is not enough space on my iPod for everything, sometimes it is over capacity by 10GB. Every time this happens I end up with less and less music on my iPod until I get incomplete playlists and entire albums wiped off. After this the only solution seems to be a factory reset and restore from backup, which I have done twice already this week.
My phone will sync with no issues so I am not sure if it is a software or hardware problem. Its winding me up, anyone have any ideas? I have already removed and reinstalled iTunes and have done a reset on the iPod.

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reboot the computer
    - Try another USB port
    - Try another cable
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

  • I have a MacBook and I am unable to successfully update Firefox. I click "Update Firefox" and it's starts updating but never completes the process. I sometimes leave it for hours and it's still updating! Please help!

    Question
I have a MacBook and I am unable to successfully update Firefox. I click "Update Firefox" and it's starts updating but never completes the process. I sometimes leave it for hours and it's still updating! It's almost as if something is blocking it ffrom completing the process. Please help

Next time an app update gets stuck try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons for10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. Wait till your iPad starts on it's own. Try now. Also YouTube is still available. If you can't find it the the app store go to the bottom of the app store page and tap purchased. All your deleted apps will be listed and you can reinstall YouTube from there.

  • Time Machine back up never completes as estimate backup grows

Following a recent HD failure on my 2008 IMAC I have invested in a new 2014 Mac Mini (2.6 GHz Intel Core i5) with 8GB RAM and 1TB HD.
I have restored my IMAC data to my Mac Mini from an old WD External drive so the Mac Mini now holds 399GB data.
I have also purchased a 2TB Time Capsule.
The problem I have is when trying to perform the first full back-up of the Mac Mini to the Time Capsule using Time Machine the back-up never completes.
    Steps followed:
    - I click options within Time Machine where you have the chance to exclude back-ups, this shows estimated back-up size as 399GB agreeing with my HD view.
    - I start back-up and and as soon as it commences it reads backing up 0.00GB of 431.25GB (Not sure where the extra 31GB comes from)
    - I leave this to run and when the first figures gets to around 390GB of 431GB both figures start to increase. This never ends!
    - I have tried the Time Capsule via WIFI and cable and same issue occurs.
    - I have tried switching the Time Capsule for the old WD Hard Drive and again the same issue.
    - My sons Mac Mini back-ups fine using TM with either of these drives so it appears that there is something wrong with TM on my new iMac.
I have considered purchasing an alternative to TM but would rather use TM as it has worked fine for me over the years.
