Introspecting JAR file in OBPM 10GR3 error

Hi all,
I am trying to introspect a JAR file that I created and i get the following error.
Loading classes ...
Loading class 'TestPackage.TestValues'
[Error] Instrospection exception: Internal Error: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file..
What is this error?

Hi,
In my opinion, the jar is not prepared properly in Java. Also, before introspecting the jar file again in Oracle BPM project, it is advisable to remove the existing jar file content(if any) from external resource and back-end installable folders. Somtimes, cache in the tool also causes this kind of issue while introspecting correct jar files.

Abhishek

    Hi,
I´m having problems when i cataloge a jar file, in OBPM suite 10.3.1.0, it is an itext jar file. I´ve been trying to cataloge older and newer versions of the Itext jar file but there´s no difference in the outcome.
I create the external resource, but when i try to cataloge the package it doesn´t work
    The message it returns is:
[Error] Excepción de introspección: Internal Error: java.lang.VerifyError: (class: com/lowagie/text/RectangleReadOnly, method: <init> signature: (Lcom/lowagie/text/Rectangle;)V) Bad access to protected data..
is there anything i can do to solve this problem?..

  • Adogjf Unable to generate jar files under JAVA_TOP error while patching

    Hi,
I'm upgrading my version of Java from 1.3.1_19 to 1.5.0_17. I downloaded the jdk-1_5_0_17-linux-i586.bin file and unpackaged it to /u0/<SID>/<SID>db/10.2.0. It unpackaged it to a new directory jdk1.5.0_17 (/u0/<SID>/<SID>db/10.2.0/jdk1.5.0_17), whereas the old version is in a directory jdk (/u0/<SID>/<SID>db/10.2.0/jdk).
Having done that I had to run an interoperability patch (4372996). Upon running this patch I received an error at the end:
adogjf() Unable to generate jar files under JAVA_TOP
    There were no other errors.
I think the problem has to do with where my new java version is located but I'm not sure. I'm thinking that it's still looking under the old JAVA_TOP (/u0/<SID>/<SID>db/10.2.0/jdk) when I want it to look under the new JAVA_TOP (/u0/<SID>/<SID>db/10.2.0/jdk1.5.0_17). So, should I move the contents from the new directory (jdk1.5.0_17) to the old directory (jdk) or is there a way to 'point' it to the new JAVA_TOP.
Please let me know if I'm totally off base and there's another solution. We're currently on EBS 11.5.10.2, DB 10.2.0.4 and RHEL 4 Update 5.
    Thanks,
    Lia.

Here you go. Hope this helps you to help me :-). Thanks.

  • Error in deploying .jar file from JDeveloper 10.1.3.5

    Hello,
I want to deploy .jar file in a machine, instead of having to install JDeveloper to run the application (it contains: Web Services and Data Base).
I have followed the following steps in JDeveloper to create the .jar file:
    1) Right click over the project: New... --> General (All Technologies option selected) --> Deployment Profiles --> JAR File
    2) I have selected "Include Manifest File" option specifying the application's main class
    3) In JAR Deployment Profile Properties window: File Groups --> Project Output --> Contributors are selected: "Project Output Directory" and "Project Dependencies"
    4) With the previous steps, JDeveloper generates a .deploy file. It is created in Resources folder. From this folder, I have selected the .deploy file and right click and I have selected "Deploy to JAR file"
The .jar is created succesfully. In this point, I try to execute with the command:
    java -jar NAME_OF_THE_DIRECTORY_WHERE_THE FILEIS_DEPLOYED\NameFile.jar
and I have the following error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/rpc/ServiceFactory
    at project.proxy.AccountClient.<init><AccountClient.java>
    at project.proxy.AccountClient.main<init><AccountClient.java>
    The Manifest File content is:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0
    Main-Class: project.proxy.AccountClient
I have tested with differents variables to create the .jar file, but always the error is the same. And I haven't found information to solve it. For this reason, I appreciate any help.
    Thank you and regards.

If you are just building a client that access a Web service you need a JAR and not a WAR.
    Ok!
One thing to try is look at the command line that JDeveloper uses to run your client (it's in the log window) - specifically look at the classpath used.
Then try and run the same thing from a command line and see if it works.
Nowadays, the application is running with a .BAT file, it contains the statement released from the JDeveloper console, and it is working perfectlly.
I try to do the same from a command line, and it works too.
Assuming it is - you can either use that, or you'll need to make sure that your JAR includes all the mentioned jars that were in the class path - this is done through the library type file group.
To create the .JAR file I have choosen the following options (JAR Deployment Profile Properties):
    1) Include Manifest File --> I have selected the class that contains the main class (from the Browse option)
    2) I left the default File Groups (Project Output) --> it has: Project Output Directory + Project Dependencies
    3) As you said me, I have created a new File Group (type: Libraries) --> and here, I have selected all the possible Contributors. These match those specified in the project (Oracle XML Parser v2, J2EE, JAX-RPC Client, Commons Logging 1.0.3, Ojdbc14.jar).
    4) Deployment to JAR File successfully.
    The resulting MANIFEST.MF is:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0
    Main-Class: project.proxy.Execution
It hasn't definied "Class-Path", althought to especified a new File Group with the libraries... Is it an error?
If I extract the .JAR file, I see all libraries, and I have two folders: one with .class files of my project and other one is META-INF with MANIFEST.MF file.
    5) From command line I executed:
    C:\jdevstudio10135\jdk\bin > java -jar C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\deploy\NameFile.jar
And the result is an error:
Exception in thread "main": java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/rpc/ServiceFactory
I think the error is because it can not find the library ServiceFactory, but it is especified inside JAX-RPC Client library. What is wrong?
*6)* I have tried too to insert in "JAR Deployment Profile Properties" (in JAR options) an additional Manifest File to merge into MANIFEST.MF, to include "Class-Path" with all libraries's project (the same JAR from the statement released from the JDeveloper console), but I think that it is a limit, because if I insert all libraries the "Class-Path" doesn't inserted in MANIFEST.MF. The maxim is:
    Class-Path: C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes C:\jdevstudio10135\lib\xmlparserv2.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\lib\xml.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\activation.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\ejb.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\jms.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\jta.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\mail.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\servlet.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\webservices\lib\jaxrpc-api.jar
The following libraries afther the previous one aren't allowed to include because I think that is exceeding the maximum size.
I have tested to create various MANIFEST.MF with different PATHs libraries, but it isn't work to include in the MANIFEST.MF file all libraries...
    (C:\jdevstudio10135\webservices\lib\wsclient.jar

    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\jdbc\lib\ojdbc14dms_g.jar)
With this .MF file (or including only "C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes") I have solved the other problem (not found the libraries), but it still not working, the error is a little different:
Exception in thread "main": java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: project/proxy/Execution
The path where the main class is: C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes\project\proxy\Execution.class
I have tried to insert directlly the following paths in "Main Class" option of "Include Manifest File":
    C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes\project\proxy\Execution
    C:\\jdevstudio10135\\jdev\\mywork\\project\\project\\classes\\project\\proxy\\Execution
And with these values, the error is the same: Exception in thread "main": java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
I am not sure if the error is a bug of JDeveloper 10.1.3.5 or it is something that I don't correctly. Any idea?
    Thank you again and regards.

    Hi Shane,
The problem appears to be an issue where the directory created is called "JavaTask" but the jars are trying to be placed into "JavaTasks".
Note the "s" appended at the end.
If you manually create the JavaTasks directory then run the tool, it should work.

In fact, the bc4j.xcfg file is not inside my JAR file (it belongs to the BC4J project, so when I created the JAR file for my "View" project, it never came into.
How should I create the JAR file to have this file inside and fix my problem??
    Thanks a lot,
    David

I'm having a similar problem -- but I am just trying to run the BC4J project -- not a project dependent on the BC4J components... where is the classpath being incorrectly set?

  • Help -- Trying to create JAR file but not working

    Hi everyone
I have created a rather noddy Java program that consists of 4 JComboBox's and 1 JButton on a JFrame.
When the button is clicked a text file is generate with the options that have been selected.
There are severial files that the program uses for this:
    gcc.java
    OutToFile.java
    gccConfirm.java
    MyNewWindow.java
    main.java
I am using Jcreator and so must use the command line to create the Jar file.
I have never done a jar file before so I did an example with a hello world program and got it working now problem. I did the same for this program and the JAR file is generated without error. I double click on the JAR file to run the application, but nothing happens. I can see the application running in memory but nothing loads on the screen. However if I run it from the command line using Java -jar gcc.jar then everything is ok.
    can anyone help me here?
    thanks in advance

If you run you .jar from the command line (a shell in unix speak) there
already is a console where your java program can send it's System.out
stuff. Right click on your .jar and select 'properties' (or similar). Note
that your .jar is run by 'javaw'. This executable is similar to the 'java'
executable except that it doesn't open a console for you. Change the
'javaw' command to 'java' and voila, there's your console again.
    kind regards,
    Jos

  • How to remove Jar signature in BouncyCastle jar file

My problem is: When I expand bcprov.jar (Bouncycastle) and then I pack it into a one jar file with my application and other expanded jar files, I getting an error about the signature of Bouncycastle).
I am using Ant to expand and create my jar file.
Any Ideas , I would like to remove the signature of the bouncycastle jar file.
    thx in advance
    espinraf

It's actually not easy to do it. There are various regexp ways of doing it. If you search you'll find them. But they are only partial solutions. What you really need to do is write an HTML parser, perhaps using Java's built-in HTML parser. That's the only way to really and truly extract text from HTML. It's a bit of an advanced programming task, though.

  • Could not read Log4j configuration file when I run jar file

    Hi,
I'm using Log4J in my application..
    I configure the log4j, as follows;
PropertyConfigurator.configure("properties/logging.properties");and then go on to use it.
The .properties is in the root when I jar my source. I use Ant to Jar the file. It all works good when I run the jar file from ant.
The problem is when I run the jar file by double clicking on it, I get an error
" Could not read configuration file [properties/logging.properties]."
    I tried the following options;
    PropertyConfigurator.configure("/logging.properties");
    PropertyConfigurator.configure("./logging.properties");
PropertyConfigurator.configure("../logging.properties");But in all cases, I get corresponding errors on running the jar file through Ant:
log4j:ERROR Could not read configuration file [logging.properties].
log4j:ERROR Could not read configuration file [./logging.properties].
log4j:ERROR Could not read configuration file [../logging.properties].
I want to be able to run the Jar by double clicking on it or through Ant.. Would any one know how to fix this issue so that I can use both methods..

Keep your properties file inside the root folder of your application. It is working fine

  • Why can't my MacBook open .Jar files?

    Hi,
Whenever I try to open a .jar file, I get this error message:
I really need to be able to open .jar files. I have been able to open them in the past; I really don't know what happened.
    Java is up to date.
    Everything is up to date.
Java settings is set to default.
oh, I'm on Leopard Version 10.5.8 - I doubt the problem is the operating version though because I have been able to
open .jar files in the past without a problem.
Please help me. - I don't know what went wrong with my computer...
    Thanks!
    Jeremy

I am having the same problem -
I’m trying to install this “copious dogs” mod on my work computer (MacBook Pro).
I can’t open the JAR file.  I get an error message saying “Copious dogs … cannot be launched. Check the Console for possible errors …”
I’ve been on all kinds of boards that tell me to install a bunch of Java apps and whatnot.  None of that has worked.
I’ve found other boards that say to open the .jar file with my archive utility.  I can do that and get to a “cpgz” file.  But then when I try to open that I get another .jar file – which I can’t open.
Other boards say to go to the apple store and download “Unarchiver.”
But when I go to the mac store and search for “unarchiver” I’m taken to a “Dashboard Widgets: iPhone News” download – and that’s about when I start to pull my hair out and give up.
What am I doing wrong ?

    Hi all,
I am sorry that the reply I posted here was supposed to be send to http://forums.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=31&thread=294049 - a million appologies!
Putting the required jar files within JRE installations (installed extensions) will require you to make these changes to all machines you are going to run your application - in some cases this might not be a feasible solution. Instead you can bundle the required jars along with your application (after verifying that its permissible to do so), and refer these jar files in the manifest of the executable jar file you are creating.
See http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/ext/index.html to know about extension mechanism and http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jar/index.html to know about JAR files.
Launching an executable JAR file might not work on some platforms and also on the type of JRE installation you did. If everything else fails, try a JRE reinstall! :)

  • Cant open jar file

i cant open any jar file
    it gave that error:
    # java jar_file.jar
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoclassDefFoundError: jar_file/jar
so what might be the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything I've ever read says that a Java Archive file is just a renamed zip file so in theory gunzip should work. After that pkgchk your Java installation or just re-install.
