Invalid parameters requested.

Hello,
I am getting this error described as "Invalid parameters requested."
It occurs when I leave a parameter field blank.
The strange thing is it works when I initially view it with the "auto run" option.
If I try to view it manually, it throws the error. If I turn off auto run and try to view it, it throws the error.
It seems to be arbitrary! I've gotten it to go away altogether. I'll then edit something in the template, and it comes back. I'll revert the template to its original state, and the error doesn't go away...
Note I am using in my query:
and column_name = nvl(:param, column_name)
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Matt Soukup

As far as I can tell, the error went away when I signed out and signed back in.
Thanks,
Matt Soukup
EDIT: This error occurred after I removed the association of a menu with a parameter. Perhaps, it doesn't want you to select values not on the list of values? Additionally, the state of the parameter isn't updated until you sign back in?

  • Invalid parameters request by calling from an external website

    Hello,
    i have a problem calling a Bi-Publisher report via "Link" from an external website.
    I get the following error-message: *"Invalid parameters requested."*
    There are two parameters. The first one is a line_id and the second one is a head_id.
    Before calling the template there is a insert-Sql-statement on the database (initiated from the external website).
    Because of that there are new values in the table of the LOVs.
    I think the problem is that the LOVs of the parameters are inconsistence. The values are out of date.
    After waiting several hours the error message disappears and the report could be called from the external website.
    Is there a way to refresh the parameters before calling the report from an external website?
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks ahead for any ideas, solutions or workarounds!

    I found the problem: Its due to the menue-parameters and their List-Of-Values.. It seems like a cashing-problem or something like that...
    Changing the parameters to so called text-parameters solves the problem.
    Maybe this workaround helps guys with the same problem...
    Greetings...

  • Report erroring out with 'Invalid parameter requested' in Siebel.

    Hello -
    I have 9 parameters on a template, excluding the two delivered out-of-the-box by siebel to enter the Language and Locale. Recently, if i enter a language value of 'ESP' ( or any other language value), it errors out with 'Invalid parameters requested' error. On reviewing the OC4j log file, i noticed that the language parameter ('ESP') is actually being applied to another parameter in my template that accespts only 'Yes/No' boolean values. This occurs randomly, there is no particular pattern to this.

  • Invalid Page Request when trying to upload file

    I created a JSP using the PDK Struts tag library to upload a file and receive the following error from the portal server:
    Invalid Page Request
    Request does not include a 'dad' value
    What am I missing? Here's the code:
    %@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/tlds/struts-html.tld" prefix="html" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/tlds/struts-bean.tld" prefix="bean" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/tlds/pdk-struts-html.tld" prefix="pdk-html" %>
    <pdk-html:form method="POST" action="/search" enctype="multipart/form-data">
    <table cellspacing="2" cellpadding="1" border="1" width="100%">
    <tr>
    <td width="20%" align="left">Report Description</td>
    <td><html:text property="description"/></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>Select the report request file to upload</td>
    <td><input type="file" name="requestFile" /> </td-->
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td><html:submit value="Submit"/></td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </pdk-html:form>

    I am having this same problem. The invalid page request only shows when you change the enctype of the form to multipart, but if you don't do this the file upload fails with:

  • Ubuntu and Leopard - Error : 12 Invalid device requested

    Hi All!
    Leopard worked fine when that was the only operating system on the computer..
    after I installed the Ubuntu, leopard was not being recognized by the grub.
    I have edited the grub (source - http://www.howtoforge.com/workingwith_the_grubmenu) and managed to change the background too, however when I choose Leopard to boot from, it comes up with the error - Error 12 : Invalid device requested.
    I am able to boot to only Ubuntu now.
    This is the sudo fdisk -l result..

    How do I go about fixing this error ?
    Thanks
    Umang
    PS: do not have / want windows on my computer.

    Hi, I'll try to remember how to do this...When the system starts, try pressing F8
    or if you already open to a selection screen then skip F8. Select the Leopard to boot from and try typing:
    mach_kernel -v
    That will direct it to the boot kernel on the Leopard partition. Other than that could you please post your grub?

    Hello David,
    Could you please post the entire exception trace here?
    Also, is this related to your post :
    http://forums.bea.com/thread.jspa?threadID=300005777
    If so, could you point to the link from where you are trying this example?
    Another thing to try would be invoking this sample using a SIP message instead of http. I see from the other trace that the putDocument is being invoked from a http context.

  • Supplying parameters in a request to run a parameterized request?

    Hi all,
    I was wondering if there was a way to include the parameters to pass to a parameterized test in a request to run that parameterized test. If a test is parameterized, adding the request returned by Request.method() to the list of requests passed to FlexUnitCore.run() will cause the parameterized test to be run once for each item returned by the parameterized test's [Parameters] method. I don't know of a way to create a request to pass to FlexUnitCore.run() which would run a test once, with specific parameters passed to the test.
    For example, here's a simple parameterized test:
    package
         import org.flexunit.runners.Parameterized;
         [RunWith("org.flexunit.runners.Parameterized")]
         public class SimpleParameterizedTest
              private var _param:int = 1;
              public function SimpleParameterizedTest(param:int)
                   _param = param;
              [Parameters]
              public static function getData():Array
                   return [[1], [2], [3]];
              [Test]
              public function runTest():void
                   trace(_param);
    If I run the test with this code:
                   var flexUnitCore:FlexUnitCore = new FlexUnitCore();
                   var request:Request = Request.method(SimpleParameterizedTest, "runTest");
                   flexUnitCore.run(request);
    ... then SimpleParameterizedTest's constructor is called three times, first with 1, then with 2, and finally with 3, and runTest() is called three times. What I would like to do is, e.g., to create a request that would cause the constructor to SimpleParameterizedTest to be called once with a value of 2.
    We have a set of large files and real-world files which we use in performance tests - e.g., to time opening, saving, and closing. We have a set of parameterized tests which take these files as inputs: each of the [Parameter] methods for these tests gets the contents of a folder, and returns a list of filenames which match a particular pattern. Our test automation system has a UI which allows a dev or QE to select the set of tests to run, but without modifying the contents of the folders the tests look in, there is not a way for him or her to select a subset of these parameterized tests to run. Similarly, we would like our test automation which executes the performance tests to be able to run a test on a particular file.
    If there is not a way to include the parameters in the request, our plan is to modify the [Parameters] method for the test so that the test can ask the test automation system for the parameters and (e.g.) return a list generated by the contents of a folder if the test automation system does not have parameters.

    You could use the external data loading feature of the test runner and then just write a file ahead of time (or use an in memory static class if you wanted)
    http://tutorials.digitalprimates.net/flexunit/Unit-11.html
    Scroll down to using external data. Read that first (briefly) it builds on the knoweldge taught here:
    http://tutorials.digitalprimates.net/flexunit/Unit-9.html
    You could use this interface to wedge your data in, either via an external file, remote call, or even just populate a static class before you call run and use this technique to draw it out.
    That is my best suggestion,
    Mike

    one idea ... check in the reports the "Last Contact" report and see if

    or does it at the specific time.

  • How to pass wild card '%'  value from the parameter to the query

    Hello everyone,
    I have following 2 problems
    1) I was trying to do some thing like below
    select * from emp
    where ename like 'J%'
    for this i have used the following code
    select * from emp
    where ename like :P_ENAME
    and before running the query in the parameter box i entered J%. But my report returns an error which says INVALID PARAMETERS REQUESTED.
    2) I have a req of passing both comma separated and wild card for the same parameter. If we take the same example as above,
    user should be able to enter
    a) JASON, SMITH, JOHN OR b) J%
    I have used comma separated value option of the parameter for the csv values and its working fine, but i need to add the wild card feature also to the same parameter.
    Can anyone please help me with these things?????
    Thanks in advance!!
    Raghu

    Hi Raghu,
    I guess you are in older version, You have to get into latest version to use %, it should work well
    you should use where ( ename like :P_ENAME ) or ( ename in (:P_ENAME)) for both the condition to satisfy.

    and nvl(prod.name,'1') like nvl(nvl('%'||:p_prod_name||'%',prod.name),'1')
    Its working sucessfully on sql window.. But when i run it on bi publisher its giving Invalid Invalid parameters requested.
    Parameter in Bi = Data Type is string and parameter type as text
    please help ..

    Try using instr instead of like by replacing
    and nvl(prod.name,'1') like nvl(nvl('%'||:p_prod_name||'%',prod.name),'1')
    with
    and instr(nvl(prod.name,'1'),nvl(:p_prod_name,'1')) > 0

  • Request.getParameter() when uploading files

    Hi, I need to upload files and do other works .. such that, in my html ..
    <form name="composer" method="post" ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data">
    <input type=hidden name="a" value="a">
    <input type=File name=inputfile>
    <inpu type=button name=Upload onClick='upload file'>
    <inpu type=button name=otherStuff onClick='do other stuff'>
    </form>
    In the jsp for 'do other stuff', I have the following statement to get the value of a
    String a = request.getParameter("a");
    However, it returns 'null', if I erase the 'ENCTYPE' part from the html file, it works. How can I get it right?

    If your ENCTYPE is multi-part/form-data, then there is another technichque to read the form parameters.
    request.getParameter() won't work.
    first u need to read the requenct explicitely and divide the contents into parameters, files etc. and then read the parameter values.
    you can get a lot of stuff regarding this on web, like 'uploading files using jsp'.
    have fun!!

  • Request.getParameter is NULL from window.open form submit

    Hi all,
    We have one portlet application where a jsp page has a link which opens as a child window using the window.open function in javascript.
    It has a form and some textboxes with a save submit button.When the save button is clicked the portlet processAction is called but when i try to set the renderrequest all the request.getParameters are null .I have tried both the ActionRequest and HttpServletRequest and both have nul values.
    As a result me Save is failing since the request.getparametrs are null.I added the "save" as part of form action URL and its getting passsed but the other, i am unable to fetch.
    My Form action is : <form name="saveEntries" id="saveEntries" action="<portlet:actionURL secure="true"/>&action=save&_pageLabel=ABC" method="post">
    My process action code is :
    Enumeration<String> parameters = request.getParameterNames();
              while(parameters.hasMoreElements()) {
                   String parameter = parameters.nextElement();
                   String[] values = request.getParameterValues(parameter);
                   if(values != null && values.length > 1){
                        response.setRenderParameter(parameter, values);
                   } else {
                        response.setRenderParameter(parameter, request.getParameter(parameter));
                        if(request.getParameter(parameter)!=null && "save".equalsIgnoreCase(request.getParameter(parameter))){
                             HttpServletRequest httpRequest = (HttpServletRequest) request.getAttribute("javax.servlet.request");
                             Enumeration parameterNames = httpRequest.getParameterNames();
                             Enumeration<String> httpparameters = parameterNames;
                             while(httpparameters.hasMoreElements()) {
                                  String httpparameter = httpparameters.nextElement();
                                  String[] httpvalues = httpRequest.getParameterValues(httpparameter);
                                  if(httpvalues != null && httpvalues.length > 1){
                                       response.setRenderParameter(httpparameter, httpvalues);
                                  } else {
                                       logger.debug("----------------->:ApproveTime else processAction = :Getting HTTP :parameter:"+parameter);
                                       logger.debug("----------------->:ApproveTime else processAction = :Getting HTTP :request.getParameter(parameter):"+request.getParameter(parameter));
                                       response.setRenderParameter(httpparameter, httpRequest.getParameter(httpparameter));
    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hello,
    One potential reason why it isn't working for you is that the Java Portlet specifications (JSR168 and JSR286) don't allow URLs to be manipulated once they are created with a a portlet:xxxURL tag. The reason for this is that the portlet container needs to be able to rewrite the URLs to properly go back through the portal framework (or over WSRP if running the portlet remotely) and to encode all the parameters needed. The portal framework could even change it from a URL to a Javascript action, where simply appending extra "&paramName=someValue" onto the end of the generated URL won't work. So this:
    <form action="<portlet:actionURL secure="true"/>&action=save&_pageLabel=ABC" method="post">isn't legal by the portlet specification-- if you want to add parameters to the actionURL, you can by doing this:
    <form action="<portlet:actionURL secure="true"><portlet:param name="action" value="save"/><portlet:param name="_pageLabel" value="ABC"/></portlet:actionURL>" method="post">which will add the parameters to the URL in a way that will always work with the portal framework.
    One other thing to note- it looks like you're just trying to copy all of the action parameters in the request into render parameters in the response; this can be done much easier like this:
    response.setRenderParameters(request.getParameterMap());Kevin
