Invalid Sender in UWL

Hi,
I am facing critical problem in Universal Worklist. I have developed a Leave approval Workflow for our client.
In this scenario,
1. Manager will create a Sick Leave on behalf of Employee in the portal.
2. Employee will look into that and change a date, Illness Description, etc. and confirm the leave.
3. As soon as emp. change data, Mail will be sent to the manager for approval.
Now, SAP Workflow System will sent a mail to manager for approval
but the problem is...  Manager is receiving mail for approcval with his name instead of employee / WF-BATCH name.
Shardul

Hello,
You say:
"Manager is receiving mail for approcval with his name instead of employee / WF-BATCH name"
You want it to show the WF-BATCH name? Just look at the workflow in PFTC_DIS and figure out where it's getting the name from. The problem could stem from "Manager will create a Sick Leave on behalf of Employee " - it may be showing workflow initiator instead of the employee for whom the Leave is being created.

  • Roadrunner/cwmx and Invalid sender address problems

I have spent hours trying to fix problem with Road Runner email when not connected to rr via wifi.
Background: rr doesn't allow smtp outgoing if you aren't connected to their cable. Thus you have to be on wifi from your cable router. So, many folks turn on ATT cwmx.com smtp server to send mail when on 3G or Edge. iPhone email is supposed to try next smtp server if first one fails. But when sending mail many folks are getting "Invalid sender address" error message.
I had thought the error message was coming from cwmx but now think that it is coming from road runner's smtp server and the iPhone is not going on to the next smtp server, i.e. cwmx.com.
Maybe this is the problem/bug. I know there are some other bugs in iPhone mail app. For example I have 4 smtp servers showing in "Other SMTP servers" all with the same address and there is no way to delete the duplicates.

It is usually the ISP being used for the internet connection with the SMTP server restriction.
Most, if not all ISPs block the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network (or that isn't provided by the ISP) unless the SMTP server is authenticated.
Most ISPs don't provide/support an authenticated SMTP server, and Time Warner is one of them. If TW provided/supported an authenticated SMTP server for RoadRunner accounts, using RR's SMTP server wouldn't be an issue regardless the internet connection.
I access my MobileMe account and a business POP account with the iPhone's Mail client. Both accounts have an authenticated SMTP server and I've never had a problem sending with either account regardless my internet connection - via numerous wi-fi connections with different ISPs or via EDGE with my first generation iPhone, or via 3G or EDGE with my iPhone 3G.
These restrictions are in place as a part of an overall effort to prevent spam emanating from the ISP's domain.

  • Change the format of the name of the sender in UWL

    Hi Experts ,
In my UWL the column "FROM" , display  the  name of the sender as " Last name, First name" . My requirement is to display  the name as "Firstname, Last name " .
eg: In my uwl now it display  like "Jobs, Steve" . But my requirement is to display  it like "Steve, Jobs".
Can you suggest any solution for this requirement ?
    Regards,
    Sumana

    >Our client is requested for this naming format Firstname , Lastname .
    Did they tell why?
I don't know any other way than creating a new custom columns & attributes into UWL and then populating them from the webflow/workflow container. Then you of course need to populate the workflow container too properly. I personally see this as something that I would avoid to do at all costs. Also remember that the "sender" task will not perhaps work properly even in its current form in the future or in some other workflow. If the work item is create by workflow system user WF-BATCH, the sender column will show this user instead of the "real sender". This is highly likely scenario.
Of course there might be some easier way to do this from the UWL/portal side. But I guess the standard way is the one that Armando described.

  • IDoc Message: Invalid Sender Port in FM IDOC_INBOUND_SINGLE

    Hi experts
For inbounding IDocs I use the FM IDOC_INBOUND_SINGLE.
My problem is, the IDocs always gets the status 56 with error message <Sender port in control record is invalid>.
I don't understand the message, because all ports are maintained in WE21.
When I execute BD84 for created IDocs everything is OK.
But my problem is, that I don't want to execute BD84 after every IDoc which will be created by the FM IDOC_INBOUND_SINGLE.
So could anyone help with the error message <Sender port in control record is invalid>.
    Thx for every help

    Hello Sachin
    Thx for fast help.
However, a few minutes ago I solved the problem (debugged SAP-FM).
Problem had been, that direction was 1 instead of 2.

  • Invalid sender address

    Hi,
I have to send an email, but the sender address may be invalid, in which case I should suppy a "default" valid address. Is it possible to check that address before calling Transport.send(Message m, Address[] a)? Is there any isAddressValid() method?
    Thanks,
    Mgalois

No, an application cannot, but a library can. I finally found a solution: first I perform a "local" check of the email address (if @ char isn't present, if a dot isn't present after the index of @ etc.) then I send the message and check the exception message. If the message contains the string "Domain of sender address <the_address> does not exist" then the address isn't valid.

  • Unsent message with Invalid Sender Address: NOT in OUTBOX!

I have an unsent email that is stuck "somewhere", the result of accidentally entering the incorrect email address when modifying a mobileMe account. When it tries to send, I used to get "Sender Address Invalid". But there are no messages left in the Outbox to delete.
So now at the bottom center of the MAIL screen it says "1 Unsent Message". And every so often it'll try sending it ("Sending 1 of 1). But then it'll just stop -- with no messages.
Restarting the iPhone doesn't clear it out.
Where is this message sitting? And how does one zap it?

One thing that might help out.
Go to settings > mail, contacts, calendars > your mail account.
Then tap on smtp to view all your servers.
Make sure your primary server is on.
Then go through and turn on all your secondary servers.
Go back into mail and see if you have an outbox with an unsent message.
    Hope this helps.

Sometimes with gmail, setting up a gmail account on a mobile device will trigger what is called a captcha lock. In essence, it's a puzzle that a computer can't read but a human can to prove to gmail that an automated spammer isn't using your account to send mail. Are you trying to send mail from somewhere other than you're home network? If so, many wifi providers block outgoing mail to stop spammers.

  • Only since I started using Firefox, Hotmail has now 2 different senders for my e-mails, me and this new unknown : " **** ", that it insists on choosing as the sender , instead of me, and then gives me this message : invalid sender email address ... ??????

I did not have any problems at all before I started using Firefox ( great !!! ) , that's why I assume it may be Microsoft making it hard for " other than IE users " to use Hotmail, as similar events have been proven true in the past, regarding Microsoft and its monopolistic policies , or is it a true technical incompability ???

I moved the file formhistory.sqlite to another file folder. I then started Firefox up again to see if it worked or if I needed to start it in Safe Mode. No need for Safe Mode. It now works exactly as it should. Thank you so much!!

  • Sendmail invalid sender signature

Hi, for the last week i have been seing tons of this signature alert firing, now the explanation of this signature in NSDB is :"Triggers on any mail message with a pipe (|) symbol in the From: field".
i don't have sendmail , all these signatures are firing when trying to go through my mail filters. i have tuned it from before to drop the packet and produce an alert , but why tons of signatures this week and from different source addresses ? is this legitimate traffic i'm blocking ?
    thank you

They could very well be trying to exploit this extremely old vulnerability. Look at a packet capture. Do the mail transactions triggering these alarms look legitimate? Research the sources of these alarms. Is there a single source or multiple? Are the sources trusted or well known entities? If not, do they show up in any black lists? Answering these questions might help you decide what to do from a response/tuning perspective.
Unless you don't have something better to do (i.e. more important alarms to investigate) I don't know that I'd spend a whole lot of time on these. Follow attmidsteam's advice and disable the sig and move on.

  • "Invalid sender" - fixed! (for now..)

I had a lot of trouble (no luck actually) with outgoing mail from Comcast (gmail worked fine)
Anyway, as dumb as this sounds, it seems that while my account was set up -mostly- correctly, for some reason, my outgoing SMTP info (under "Primary Server" had no User Name or Password. We somehow overlooked this for DAYS while trying to figure out why it didn't work...
Also, this info is entered in other places so I guess we thought it may have been completed.
So, I filled them in and 3 emails I had in my outbox whooshed to their respective receivers... unfortunately, 2 of 3 had already been responded to via my desktop
Hope if you're having trouble this helps... and I hope it keeps working!
    A.

    Followup:
They told me something interesting at my Mac Retailer. They have had two other machines brought in doing the same thing. They tried new logic boards with no success, they tried new thermal assemblies with no luck, new ram - nothing seemed to solve the problem.
What they finnally did was replace the Hard Drive - they tell me this has fixed the problem. Now I don't know if that is what they'll do to mine. The other two machines had the 60gb drives - mine is a 100gb, but we'll see. From all I have heard, this doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Anyway, we'll see what happens.
Anyone else hear anything about replacing the hard drive?

  • SAP PI 7.1 SOAP sender 500 internal server error

    Hello!
We would like to receive messages from our business partner. As the partner sends EDIFACT we have to use the conversion from EDIFACT-text to EDIFACT-xml. That's why we have to use SOAP instead of plain HTTP.
As the partner already sent messages over X.400 we just added a SOAP communication channel and used this channel in the sender agreement instead of the X.400 communication channel.
We sent the following link to the customer:
    http://<server>:<j2ee port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=<party>:<service>:<SOAP sender communication channel>
One question: is the <service> the communication component used for the partner?
At the moment the partner receives a 500 error message. Due to our network partner the message reaches the PI system.
Due to the information I found that also a message parsing error can cause a 500 error message I would like to add the processing sequence:
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards
    Christian

    Hi Christian
You can refer to the following SAP Library link on how to configure the SOAP sender.
Configuring the Sender SOAP Adapter - Configuring the SOAP Adapter in the Integration Directory/PCK - SAP Library
For the URL, the <service> is the Communication Component that the SOAP channel belongs to.
Using the example below, the value would be P_B2B_:BC_:CC_S_SOAP_
Actually SAP recommends a new alternative for the URL. If you scroll right to the end of the library link above.
You have configured the sender SOAP adapter. You can trigger a call to the sender SOAP adapter using either of the following URLs. However, SAP recommends you to use the second option.
http://hostname:portname/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=partyname:service name:channelnameIf you have not created a party, enter channel=servicename:channelname.
http://hostname:port name/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?senderParty=name of the sender party<&senderService>=name of the sender service<&interface>=name of the interface<&receiverParty>=name of the receiver party<&receiverService>=name of the receiver service<&interfaceNamespace>=name of the interface namespace
You can get this by generating the WSDL from the Sender Agreement object (Sender Agreement -> Display WSDL). The generated URL will be at the last section of the WSDL.
Also, please note that modules cannot be added to the SOAP sender adapter, also mentioned in the link.
You cannot add your own modules to this adapter.
An alternative would be to receive the EDIFACT Flat file as it is, and write it to at temporary File/FTP location. Then have a second channel pick it up, you can configure the second channel with module to convert it to EDIFACT XML.
Lastly, regarding the issue about the partner getting HTTP 500 error. Please check if you are able to see any error logs in the communication channel. It might give you some pointers as to what might be wrong - invalid sender agreement, etc, etc.

  • Alerts, Notify and e-mail using UWL from BPM tasks

    Hello experts,
Can we activate UWL alerts and notifications for bpm human tasks ?
For example, when a task needs to be completed and the user doesn't not make any thing, can we send an UWL Alert or message that appears to a supervisor role?
    Regards!
    Julio Cesar

    Julio
I dnt think this is possible out of the box in UWL..However in BPM you can do the following..
For the BPM Human Tasks you are concerned about, assign it a deadline/timeline..Create the timeline boundary event on the human task..Then assign an BPM email notification activity to the Boundary event..So during runtime, if the user does not complete the task within the timeline, it will trigger the boundary event and then an email will be triggered from the BPM (you can select the recipients as required).
This should work for your requirement.

  • UWL notification mail to Outlook inbox-How?

    Hi,
We have a requirement to send all UWL notification emails to Outlook Inbox of the users.
Is it sufficient to make the appropriate settings in

Are any other settings required?(Groupware transports, system creation etc)

Thanks for your very useful contributions.
I have been able to use the program RSWUWFML2 to perform the task. I would like to know two things:
    1. I see this only is valid maybe for the time you are logged in. For it to work, you have to run it again when you log in again. Correct? How then do you make it so that it is always active?
    2. If it sends the mail to the outlook inbox of the approver, can I customise it so that it sends to another approver in the next level if the first one does not approve in the first 2 days?

  • Able to receive but not send email

I am able to receive email, but not send or reply to email. iPhone says "Invalid Sender Address" What can I do about this?

This sounds like the usual issue you come across where you can't send email unless you are using the sending server of the ISP whose service you are connected to. The simplest way round this seems to be to get a GMail account. Enable POP in the account settings, see http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=13273 and then use the GMail sending server instead of your existing smtp server. If your ISP doesn't have authenticated servers that work over other ISPs networks this seems to be the easiest workaround and has the added advantage that GMail uses SSL for it's connections so it is more secure.
There is a good set of instructions for setting GMail up on the iPhone, see http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=72454
