I have AM 7.1 installed and working on 2 nodes. I am trying to deploy a distributed authentication UI server in an instance of sjs webserver 6.1 on another box. When ever i try to access http://DAUISERVER:8000/amdistauth/UI/Login on the DAUI server i get the following error in the amSession debug log

If objects that you store in session implement HttpSessionBindingListener,
they will be notified by valueBound() and valueUnbound() methods when object
is stored or removed from the session. Object is removed from the session when the session is invalidated, so you can close your db connections from valueUnbound() method. I had the same problem and this works for me.

E72 connected to wifi but 'invalid server name' pr...

I had no problems connecting to the wifi at the mobile phone shop but have the 'invalid server name' problem at home. however, my husband who is using Nokia too has no problems using the home wifi on his phone.
it shows that the phone is connected to the wifi but when i try to browse, it tells me that the server name is invalid. I have had phone conversations with people from Digi, Nokia and the phone company all day long and this continues to be a problem

Invalid server IP address for Remote Panels under LV 8.0.1

The other messages for troubleshooting the "invalid server IP address" were very helpful with getting my EXE to operate as a remote panel. But there is still one issue that I cannot resolve that seems to be caused by the 8.0.1 upgrade.
The remote panel work perfectly using IE6 on a computer that has the LV 8.0.1 FDS or PDS installed. When I use a computer that has LV 7.1 or no LV at all, the invalid server IP address appears inside the border of where the VI should appear on the HTML page. The connection to the remote computer is correct, the HTML file is delivered by the web server in LV, but the panel part of the page returns the error.
Does the part of the HTML that loads the Run Time Engine need to be updated for 8.0.1? Will the LV 8.0 RTE work for a remote panel on an EXE compiled for LV 8.0.1?

Thanks for the suggestion, Tunde. After further experimentation, it seems that 8.0.1 was not the problem. I worked perfectly when I removed the <parameter server=... > line that I added manually.

Can you check the Object Security for the Analysis Menu and Export button and see if it is restricted?
Also, is this a Oracle DB? IF so, has the following 32 bit Oracle Client components been isntalled:

Anyone else seeing "Invalid server response" when logging into VCMA through a web browser?

I am getting "Invalid server response" when I log into VCMA from Safari on my iPhone. I have the app on my iPad and it will connect and manage my ESXi hosts normally (so I am fairly certain the setup and config of the Virtual Appliance went ok).
I Googled the error and got some returns about different Virtual Appliances doing the same thing. Seems to be an issue with running VCenter on a Windows 2008 server (which we are). Users reported switching VCenter to Windows Server 2003 boxes and it worked fine.
Anyone else ran into this and figured it out?
My environment:
vCenter Server 4.1.0 - Build:258902
     - running as a VM on ESXi 4.1.0 - Build: 348481
     - running on top of Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1
     - vSphere Client 4.1.0 - Build: 258902
vCenter Server and VCMA Appliance are on the same subnet.

I had not done that yet, but thanks to your suggestion I have made that change.
I am not sure if the above fixed the issue, but I am now able to get the website to load. I was trying to load the page https://vcmaServerIP:5480 which will load a login page. When you try to log into it, I was and am still getting the error I first posted about. By some weird chance I tried to load the page https://vmcaServerIP and got a completely different looking page and was able to log in and work like I should be able to.
So, lesson learned: do not put the :5480 at the end of the URL and you will get the correct login page.

ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION when logging in from client

Hi,
I am a junior dba and I was hoping if someone could help me out with a problem I am having. I recently installed on oracle 10g client on my windows machine. I am trying to remote connect to my database on a unix box but I am getting the below error when trying to connect from the client.
ERROR:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION
I've done some digging around on this and I think it might be something to do with the NLS_LANG setting maybe. I'm not sure though and to be honest I'm a bit lost on this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

I am getting a Invalid Server Certificate error when I go to secure web sites.

I am getting an Invalid Server Certificate error in Safari when I go to https web sites. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. My time and date are correct on my computer. I have no problem accessing non-https web sites.
Any suggestions on why this is happening are appreciated.

Enter "ocspd" (without the quotes) in the "Filter" text field. Does a process with that name appear in the table below?

Error: JVM option is invalid: -server

We have downloaded the 'Oracle Application Server MapViewer 10.1.2 Kit and Quickstart' that was released on 10-January-2005.
The start.sh script included in this kit to start OC4J is:

This errors with:
The JVM option is invalid: -server
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
Note: The java version installed on the server is 1.4.2 and OS is IBM AIX 5.2L.
The OC4J does start with the command:
java -server -jar oc4j.jar
Any thoughts on the option '-server' and is this required for running of mapviewer with the standalone version of OC4J?

-server option is used to start jvm in server mode.
in your case what's offending is probably the option -Xmx384M ( i think that option has different format on different jvm implementations).
in any case, -server is not required to run mapviewer.

I'm using windows vista.I have installed oracle database 11g.Now, SQL Developer is working fine in this.I gave the sid as orcl and gave my username and password in sqldeveloper and it works.
But the host string is not working in forms and sql plus.How do i know which host string i should give??I came to know that the tnsnames.ora which is present in the oracle home directory should be copied to forms directory also.I did that too but still forms,reprorts and sql plus are not working.I get two errors namely ORA-02248 invalid option for ALTER SESSION and TNS could not resolve service name .Pls suggest how to proceed.Thanks in advance....

Unfortunately you forgot to mention forms/reports version. Currently only one Developer Suite version is certified on Vista running 11g,don't ignore software/hardware requirements.
It's 10.1.2.0.2 and that package requires additionally patch 6153263.

I just purchased a Nokia C6-01 phone. I am expressing difficulty with browsing. Anytime I try visiting a page, I get INVALID SERVER NAME. Some time the browsing only works when I do a google search and I click the search result sometime it doesnt, it gives the same error: Invalid Server Name. I have done a search on it on the web, no body seem to have solution, Can some one help me.

we are using the router that we matched the IP adress .192.168.1.1 and u will be inter the system setting . and for lan setting also we use the IP i mean in TCPIP for example 192.168.1.2 in laptop or PC now you have to give ur mobile also the IP to be connect with router and laptop .
do thies steps: first connect to ur router by wifi scaning . after u connect , go to menu
1- setting
2- connectivity
3-setting
4-destination
5-add access point
after u added access pint ( is the same name of the wich u gived in router setting) .and use it for internet .
6- open by clicking on the new access piont
7-option
8-advanced setting
9-ipv4 setting and give IP address must be difrent with pc or laptops IP - 192.168.1.3 or ...
now you can connect and open pages . i solve it and working 100% .

I'm getting "invalid server response" when I try to spider a site

I want to spider a partial website (to get documentation) but I am getting the error "invalid server response" when I start.
The site is perfectly viewable with Firefox, Safari and on my iPad.

OK, I interpret spiders as the feelers sent out by search engines -- a different use of the term. Anyway, I got the same error as you on both AA9 and AA XI. The other version was AA5 that simply said General Error. I was able to get the page into Acrobat around the back door. I downloaded the page to my harddrive and then opened the htm file in Acrobat. There are a whole lot of JS files called by the htm file. It did load that page, but I could not get to the next page. So the result is the same as printing to a PDF or using PDF maker in IE (I don't use IE). I tried the URL link with the htm file name and did not get the desired result. I suspect it is something that is non-standard but the browsers allow that is causing the problem. Acrobat sticks pretty close to the HTML standard as I understand it and it is where there are encryptions or other items that it messes up. I am not exactly sure what you are trying to get out of the PDF, but this gives you some idea of what to look at. I had looked at both the HTML source of the site and the site info to try to see if I saw anything strange. What I saw were a lot of calls to JS.

We use Discoverer 3.1.36.06 and are in middle of a 3i to 10g upgrade for Discoverer for a data warehouse setup. Our databases where upgraded to 10g from 9i and now we get the error message saying:
"ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION"
I got some very helpful info abt the prob from the link below.

We are mid way through the 3i to 10g upgrade and just need a quick fix for the next 2-3 weeks while the upgrade is finished.
Does any one know if changing the NLS language and applying the post longon trigger on Database id's would help in resolving this connection issue temporarily.
Any advice is deeply appreciated.

There are two types of trigger you can use: database triggers and discoverer triggers. You probably want to use a database trigger.
If you are using an APPS mode EUL (ie. logging using Applications username/passwords) then you will be logging in as the APPS database user and the syntax is:

I created a myrio project and tried to create a remote access using web publishing tool. After creating the HTML I followed the procedure of creating a new application and run it up as startup .... At the end after the myrio restarts and I try accessing the webpage, it shows the error "Invalid server IP"
What might be the problem?

Can you confirm that the Application Web Server is enabled? Also, I would recommend disabling any firewalls on your PC to make sure they are not interfering with the connection.

problems, made some developpments with FLEX and execute the samples

But now I want to developp some application with all of it,
so in the Eclipse interface I select New -> Flex project ->
then I select 'Flex Data Services ' and 'Compile application
locally in flex builder' -> Next
-> there's a popup window called 'Create a Flex project'

but these files well exist in those
C:\fds2\jrun4\servers\default\flex\WEB-INF
Is there a restiction due to the Expresse version of the Flex
Data Services I use ? how can I do ?

When you installed Flex 2, did you have a previous version of
flex installed? If so, uninstall everything, make sure that your
directories are clean including your eclipse plugin and features
directories and reinstall.
