Invalidate Archiving Session??

Hello Experts,
I have an archived session(only the write phase is complete). For some reason I want to invalidate this session. But when I display the details of this session I dont find a check box saying invalidate.
I know there are other methods of making a session invalid.
Does any body know about this criteria as to when this checkbox is available or not.
Please let me know. Points would be rewarded.
Regards,
Vinod Iyer.

Hi Vinod,
For your requirement..
You can not make this session invalid, unless you got some problem in archiving/writing process.
The consequence is your info-provider is still locked until you delete the archived data.
But there is another solution to make it,
You can mark NOTGUILTY field in admi_run table. unfortunately, there is no provided screen to maintain it.
So you must create your own program.
Hopefully it can help you a lot.
Regards,
Niel.

  • How can we cleanup invalidated archive sessions  (remove from UNIX)

    Over the years, we have accumulated many invalidated archive session files in our archive directory in UNIX.  We would love to remove these invalidated session files to free up space.
    We have been looking at BC_ARCHIVE ... but the documentation on it only mentions the archive of logs  ... not the cleanup of invalid session files that need to be deleted
    Can we just delete the files of sessions that are invalid?  Or must we perform some function in SAP to delete them?  SAP ... can you document the process for this?

    Hi,
    You can simply delete the archive files at unix level thats all. No need to do anything else in SAP.
    Cheers!

  • How to invalidate a session explicitly when a browser is closed

    hi,
    i am keeping the information of a logged user when he logs succesfully in a session. the session time is maintained for half an hour.
    i am also storing his information in an application object.
    when a user logs out i am invalidating the session and his information is removed from the application object .
    when a person is logged and another person at other place stries to log in with the same username and password, i am making use of this application object to check whether the anyone is looged in with that user id or not. if the id aleady exists in the application object i will not allow the second person to log in and i will provide with a relavent mesasge " already logged in with this ID".
    But the problem is arising when a person loogs in and closes the browser (wth out looging in).
    in this case the session is not invalidated and his information remains in the session and application object.
    when he tries to loog in immediatly after closing the browser, the same checking is done for the duplicate log in and a message is displayed to him saying that " already logged in with this ID".
    he has to wait till the session expires (i,e till 30 min) and then log in
    As this creates problem, i want to invalidate the session the time when the browser is closed.
    i tried with the onUnLoad() methos in javascript, but that method is not only called when closing the browser but also when a link is clicked ot when refreshed the page.
    i am trying with Cookies but i am not gettin ga good approach as how to go forward with this problem.
    Any body who can solve this please....reply soon or mail me
    Its very Urgent................
    Thanks

    2.Any business critical web site should not allow
    multiple users to
    work under same account at same time.Not true. My customer's web site is "business critical" and they explicitly wanted to be able to login multiple times with the same ID. At least in this scenario we completely circumvent your problem.
    The Javascript solution will never be 100%. What happens if their internet connection drops and doesn't come back? Suppose their OS crashes? What if their power goes out? What if IE crashes? What if JS is turned off? What if the user just walks away and leaves the browser open forever?
    You may be trying to get too much control, which on the web always leads to failure. Maybe a better alternative would be to warn the user that is logging in the second time that there is an outstanding login and that the previous user will be logged out if he proceeds. Then, keep a record of the event in case someone is messing with other accounts (although, since he obviously knows the username and password it is probably a user concern.)

  • How to invalidate a session based on the session id

    How to invalidate a session based on the session id

    You have to write your own support for this.
    It used to be in the API, but was deprecated as a security hole.
    The best way to do it is implement a session listener (javax.servlet.http.HttpSessionListener) which notifies you when sessions are created/destroyed.
    You can then keep a map of sessions in your own code, indexed by session Id, and access any/all of them to invalidate as you choose.

    Please teach me how to delete archiving session after archive job was completed.

    Hi Alan,
    I have not faced this particular situation, so the following is just a thought,  please try with caution.
    Delete the cancelled job from the job overview, this possibly does away with the flash icon (THUNDER) on the deletion status of archive file, hopefully you should be able to manually re-run the delete job by going to SARA-(object FI_DOCUMNT) ->Delete and choosing the file for which deletion was incomplete.
    Hope this works,

    Now I would like to know if there is a way to invalidate the session bean. Does someone know? How can I access to the bean with my java code?
    Thanks a lot.

    the method to invalidate the bean:
         public static void resetManagedBean(String beanName) {
              getValueBinding(getJsfEl(beanName)).setValue(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(), null);
         private static ValueBinding getValueBinding(String el) {
              return getApplication().createValueBinding(el);
         public static String getJsfEl(String value) {

  • Creating archiving session note

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement in which I am writing a program which executes another program in background for 5 times.
    Once a background job has been submitted i want an archiving session note to be created for that particular session.
    I have gone thru some documents on how to create the archive file and different FM's like ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_WRITE, ARCHIVE_NEW_OBJECT, ARCHIVE_CLOSE_FILE, but i am not very sure how to use them, can anyone please help me and guide on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Sunanda.

    Dear Bhanu,
    the error message means that the spool list of specified archiving run is not available.
    In standard the message is raised either from include MAADMF05 or from MAADMF06 when the form show_spool_list is called and the value in field SPOOLID from table ADMI_RUN is empty for the here used archiving run.

Either you explained it the wrong way (or I interpreted it the wrong way), or there's huge bug in your login/logout logic. After opening another window inside the same session, you should still be logged in as the first user.

  • How to invalidate the session

    hi,
    i am using the following code in the action class to close the session in uix pages. But i am unable to close the session. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    you could remove them explicitely:
    HttpSession sess = request.getSession(true);
      for (Enumeration e = sess.getAttributeNames() ; e.hasMoreElements() ;)
              sess.removeAttribute((String)e.nextElement());
            }(you may want to be specific on which attributes to remove)

  • Session timeout and session.invalidate() -- are they the same?

    I was just wondering when a session timeout occurs (either by setting the session-timeout in web.xml or the server's default timeout), is the session automatically invalidated? Or should we call setMaxInactiveInterval() instead? Or is calling session.invalidate() the only way to invalidate a session?

    Hello all,
    Both are same in terms of functionality, but if you use both of them like
    1: You specified the tag sessionTimeout and
    2: in your program the session.maxInactiveIntervalTime( value ) here if the value is(we gave it in terms of seconds like for 40 minutes we give 2400) then the program code will override the value previously set in web.xml
    Thanks
